Volume 1-5 of the New Orleans Go Cup Chronicles Series. Follow female sleuth, Brandy Alexander as she figures out her family, love and the crimes she continually stumbles upon. There's no place like New Orleans to have a good crime.
I was born, raised, and still live in New Orleans. I started going to parades and watched them from sitting on my Dad's shoulders before I could walk. I've been in Girl Scout parades, high school parades, St. Patrick's parades, Mardi Gras parades, on dance teams in parades and just about any loosely organized group who deemed it necessary to parade. I just can't help myself. I love parades. I attended Loyola of the South here in New Orleans so I wouldn't be far from a parade.
I spent 20+ years working for and retired from AT&T. I have worked and lived in New York City, Madison, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia and Birmingham, Alabama returning home for the big parade every year--Mardi Gras.
Before Katrina, I moved away and back three times, four if you count rebuilding the same house at the same address after Katrina flooded my home. I did miss a couple of parades that year.
I'm an avid sailor and Scuba diver for many years, and made lasting friendships from sailing and dive trips. I love travel and if the opportunity presents itself, I'm there. Except for a brief stint where I had to own and learn how to ride a motorcycle, I've been a water baby. When I am not enjoying fun with friends in all New Orleans has to offer- sailing and racing with friends on Lake Pontchartrain, Mardi Gras, parties and festivals- I head to Florida.
I am an ardent animal lover and direct an all volunteer rescue group, Schnauzer Rescue of Louisiana. I love to write and I write about what I know and love! You can take the girl out of New Orleans, but it won’t be for long!
Dead & Breakfast, the second book in my series THE NEW ORLEANS GO CUP CHRONICLES placed in two categories in the 2014 SOLA Chapter of RWA's Dixie Kane contest for Short/Long Series for Contemporary fiction and for Single Title Contemporary fiction. My first book is RESCUED BY A KISS.
The third book in the series, Drive-Thru Murder is scheduled to be released in the fall 2016.
There's no place like New Orleans to have a good crime!
Colleen Mooney had this first five book starter deal as a free giveaway and I could seldom pass up a copy mystery deal such as that and am I glad I didn't with this series. What a marvelous aray of caracters surrounding Brandy and Jiff , a dynamic couple that seems to be in the thick of things on a regular schedule. Orleans is the perfect backdrop for murder, mistjuf and the mayhem the two find themselves in. Colleen Mooney is truly a fabulous cozey mystery writer. 🙄 Kat
Brandy Alexander gets involved in solving mysteries in this series of books set in New Orleans. She is also in somewhat of a relationship with her childhood friend but does not see it going forward when she meets a mistreatment during the Marcus Gras parade. Full of intrigue with a dash of romance thrown in, these books are very enjoyable!
Brandy Alexander is not an exotic dancer. Her father came up with the name waiting in a bar for her to be born. She rescues Schnauzers and investigates complicated fraud schemes. Meeting a mesmerising man during Mardi Gras is the start of a wonderful adventure and romance. Recommend.
I enjoyed this collection of mysteries featuring Brandy Alexander in New Orleans. Yes, her name is same as the drink, but that is not her fault. New Orleans makes a great background for these mysteries lending them a unique southern flavor. The mysteries are good, the characters fun.
These are the stories about Brandy and Jiff how they met and the crimes they solve. Brandy can see connections other people don't to help cops solve murders. Her neighbor Dante have known each other since she was born. They've dated but never finished a date, Dante always gets pulled away for a current crime. Wonderful stories hard to put down.
Brandt Alexander seems to attract problems and dead bodies. Her love triangle keeps the stories interesting and keeps you guessing. I enjoyed reading this series and trying to figure what would happen next.
This was a fun series with interesting characters. The author brought them to life with her details about their backgrounds . If you enjoy a good mystery with laughs this is a perfect series for you.
Just finished and very glad the sixth book is out. A clever romantic thread weaves through this collection. Interesting mysteries that are solvable from the book, nicely wrapped up. A very good read.
This is a funny and suspenseful series, with clever characters and a few running subplots. Very enjoyable, mostly clean and not too violent. Appropriate for just about anyone who likes a good cozy mystery.
This book is very interesting with lots of wish that I did not see coming. The story and the people are woven together in a wonderful Tale. This is a book that I would recommend to everyone who loves mystery.
Fantastic stories with interesting characters and plots. Brandy and Jiff make a good pair of amateur detectives. I like that the author doesn’t feel it necessary to use explicit sex or foul language in the stories.
Loving all of the books! Very interesting characters, and the New Orleans settings add a great touch. I Will be reading everything else she has written!
If you like murder mysteries that aren't dark and chilling, but sit more on the cozy and cute side, then you could do far worse than have a taste of these offerings.
Funny, frustrating, fast read. Loved the relatable characters. Well familiar with guys that "love you", but won't say anything or want a commitment from their side.
