Way Down Inside: The drive to beat ovarian cancer
Way Down Inside is a story about my wife's drive to beat ovarian cancer. It details the many treatments she tried and all the things she discovered in four years of research on the internet and includes discussions and interviews with medical and scientific experts. From holistic centres in Europe to state-of-the-art immunotherapy serums to conventional treatments Way Down Inside is a story about the drive to get well again and the determination to see her daughters grow older.
Her journey included taking part in ancient practices, fasting and a whole range of diets and supplement plans.
I believe that her quest to find a cure for ovarian cancer was not in vain. That the four years she spent scouring the internet, reading, investigating and interviewing produced priceless information which could benefit countless women in the same boat: everywhere she went and all that she tried too. Time is such a crucial factor when you are dealing with this disease and any time saved by eliminating practices that are pointless could be vital.
She was a journalist and she left no stone unturned. It was this invaluable information she acquired which spurred me on to detail it in a book; that it might stand as a legacy for our daughters and help countless other women navigating this disease.
And I thought given the feisty, wonderful, remarkable woman that she was that it had to be a ‘warts and all’ account of the four years which changed my family’s life.
Throughout her cancer journey her love for her family and music was ever-present and during this time we went to see the truly great bands – Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones, The Who, Eagles, amongst others. Music truly was her happy pill in her darkest hours.
Way Down Inside is a line from a song by her favourite band Led Zeppelin – one we didn’t see - but it also is indicative of her determination to get better. Her gut feeling was spot on about many things and it was from there that a primeval desire to be there for her daughters emanated – a driving force that she retained to the very end.

I read this in one night. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady. Very informative book on the huge variety of treatments and alternative methods of the fight to overcome the horrific disease cancer. It also highlights the emotional journey of not just Seuna but the family too. Read the last chapter with the tears rolling down my face. Really hope this book can help other cancer sufferers. A lovely tribute to an amazing lady.

Inspiring & so very sad too.
This grieving husband has written such a beautiful tribute to his late wife. He has been very helpful too with giving very detailed information about all the therapy’s tried & failed to help. The expense of same most cancer patients couldn’t afford .
