Bianca Evers learned the hard way—after thirteen years with her ex-husband—that not even half a lifetime of love is enough to save her from heartbreak. So the idea of falling for someone in less than fifteen hours? Impossible.
Lucas Hawke is under no illusion that the beautiful American he fell for on their flight to Australia feels the same. She might want him—but just like the women in his past, she’s only thinking of right now.
But sometimes fate intervenes. And sometimes someone arrives in your life who is meant to stay. Forever.
B. Cranford is a proud Australian living in the USA, a lover of books, breadsticks and bed, and the mother of two children who are far too similar to their father for her liking. A lifelong reader, she dove into the romance genre on the recommendation of her best friend and hasn’t looked back since. Her debut novel, The Brightest Star, a second chance romance with (she hopes) heart and humor was released on July 13, 2017, which just so happened to be her birthday. Because if you release a book on your birthday, you get twice as much cake, and that can only be a good thing.
The Arrival of You is book two in the Mile High duet by B. Cranford. In book one, we met Bianca Evers and Lucas Hawke who met on a fifteen hour flight from The States to Australia, one going home, the other getting away. We saw that instant zing, that spark of attraction that grew over those fifteen hours. But what happens once the plane lands? In this book, we find out.
One thing that I was thinking about while I was reading this book is that the author has most definitely done their job if their book makes us feel. It can be any emotion, as long as we are invested enough to feel. And Ms. Cranford did just that. In this book I felt so much. I felt frustration for the struggles that these characters were experiencing. I felt pain for what they had to go through. I felt happiness at what they were finding in each other.
Bianca was with her ex husband for thirteen years. But he cheated on her and abandoned her. Bianca took this trip to Australia to find herself. To learn how to be just Bianca again. She never thought she would meet someone on the plane and in just a few hours, feel more connected to him than she ever did her husband. How can that be possible?
Lucas has a tendency to jump in to relationships, always in search of his own happy ending. But none of them lasted. He can’t help but to feel like what he and Bianca have found is special, that she could be “the one.” Can he trust that this time is different? That what they share could really be a forever kind of thing?
Once on Australian soil, their relationship escalates hot and fast. But Bianca doesn’t trust herself. How can she know that this is different? That Lucas won’t tire of her just like her ex did? And how can she go all in when she hasn’t let go of the past yet?
“Sometimes you just know.”
Both of these two had some self discovery they needed to get through before they could be an “us.” Yes they made some mistakes. But their feelings were real. Their connection real. I have to say that the author did torture these two. My heart was breaking for both of them.
I enjoyed this so much. I loved both of these characters. I loved getting little glimpses of Ashton and Andrew from About Time. I also didn’t realize that the previous book, She Found Him, is about Lucas’s younger sister, Rose. This really was such a good book. I was fully invested the entire time. I needed these two to find their happiness together. The epilogue was the perfect icing on the cake. A sweet look into their future.
The Arrival of You is Beth Cranford at her very best.
Taking two unusual characters, finding their way together and showing their journey.
Luc and Bianca are sizzlingly hot, but so much more than just an unconventional spark on a plane ride. Landed, and out of the metal tube in the sky, things get much more complicated, when possibilities are vast.
A beautitful story of finding oneself, even when not even looking, growing and learning about oneself. Mixed with that is heat, and plenty of it,but also a generous heaping of healthy emotion. Absolutely adored this book.
After Mile High, I was dying to find out what happens next with Lucas and Bianca. B. Cranford blew all my expectations out of the water.
The time after they deplane is still just as hot, scorchingly so, but my heart ached for them both as they tried to make sense of what they felt and how fast it happened. I loved Bianca's journey of self-discovery before she could allow herself to be loved as she deserved. And Lucas is without a doubt my favorite B. Cranford boyfriend. He's unapologetic and open with his feelings and is man enough to let his vulnerability shine through, which made him only hotter.
As usual, this story has amazing side characters and a ton of laughs. No one writes awesome witty banter like Beth.
5 stars for this beautifully written duet that makes me believe in love at first sight not mind the long flight to Australia if there's a Lucas on board.
What starts out as instant attraction on an airplane trip to Australia turns into so much more when the plane touches down for Bianca and Lucas. Filled with the sense of changing oneself for the better, B. Cranford once again created beautiful characters that the reader cannot help but fall in love with. This is a story not only about figuring out what you really want but also finding out what really maters. Hot, emotional and downright enjoyable this was a fabulous read.
Lost and Found Let’s just get this out of the way, Lucas Hawke is the ultimate book boyfriend. Sexy, smart, kind, funny, sweet, patient, patient, patient. Did I say patient? I loved everything about Luc, I loved his honesty and introspectiveness, and I loved how he stuck it out when it was unbearably hard. He is what all heroes should be!
The Arrival of You: A Mile High Novel by B. Cranford is phenomenal.
Cranford brought out all the feels.
First she hits you with the joys of new attraction, the steam of the romance, and the overall excitement in finding someone you’re crazy about.
But what I truly love as well, is she also delivers the realities. The way we all question ourselves. The way we let others impact our actions at times. And most of all ... the way we seek true love, forgiveness, and happiness.
“Don’t let fear keep you standing still, and don’t let someone else’s mistakes dictate your life.”
Lucas and Bianca are both incredible in their own rights.
Neither of these characters are perfect, but that makes them even more inviting. It gives us all a way to connect with them, and the emotions they’re going through.
“I think maybe I didn’t need to find myself, I just needed to believe I myself.”
I love that Cranford didn’t rush this storyline. She takes her readers on a journey, and lets us experience the feels.
I have been waiting, oh so impatiently for this continuing story of Lucas and Bianca.
Their hotter than Hades meeting on the plane and the question "What happens when the plane lands?"
Ms. Cranford continues to brings the heat, the heart and oh my me the swoons with this story.
Bianca is gun shy after her divorce. She doesn't want Lucas to be the rebound and she can't quite trust her feelings. I so admired Bianca's choice of finding herself, it was a hard choice but it was what she felt she needed.
Now Lucas...oh you loveable hunk of Australian man! I absolutely loved him. I loved how he just knew when he needed to pull Bianca out of her head. I admired how he knew he needed to let Bianca do her thing. I also admired how he was able to stand up for himself when the time came and wouldn't and didn't become a doormat!
Another thing I loved about this couple is how they "clicked". They were meant to be. Even though their meeting and subsequent short time together, they both felt it! It took time and it took an amazing amount of patience on both Lucas and Bianca's parts but it was so worth it in the end.
I loved seeing past characters make a bit of an appearance, it was lovely to see what they are up to!
Every story that Ms. Cranford has created is a world that I want to live in! This story is no exception and I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next!
The Arrival Of You picks up right from where the novella Mile High left off. It really takes off fast and furious with so much heat and electricity between Bianca and Lucas. But as fast and hot as this story starts, it quickly settles into a slow almost meandering pace as Bianca travels and searches for her true self.
“I think maybe I didn’t need to find myself, I just needed to believe in myself.”
I loved Lucas. He is strong and commanding but also patient and understanding. Lucas knows when to push and when he needs to just step back and allow Bianca to find her own way back to him.
This story is all emotion and feels. At times I wanted to rush Bianca, but she had to journey at her pace to her own self discovery. -3.5 Stars-
Bianca and Lucas continue their travels...but not together. One saying kept running through my mind as we followed Bianca - you can't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket.
I adored the fact that despite the fact that she had such a strong connection with Lucas...this didn't magically fix her. *He* didn't magically fix her with "love".
She still went out, and decided who she was going to be, and who she was becoming, without her past.
Maddening for him to sit and wait...but it made them all the stronger together.
What are you doing reading this? Go out and read this book.
Faith Over Fear! The Arrival of You is a masterful story about friendship, faith, finding love, and second chances. B. Cranford once again introduces us to captivating, conflicted characters and weaves in witty banter and scorching chemistry. The result is a journey of feels and electric connection. Lucas and Bianca will remind you to fight for who you are and what you want. You just might get it. And that is a bit of magic, just like hope and love. "May your choices reflect your hopes and not your fears." -Nelson Mandela
I am in love with my boo, Lucas so someone make it official already??
TAOY picks up right where Mile High ended.
I'll be honest, I wasn't sure how Bianca and Lucas's story was going to play out but man it went in a direction I TOTALLY did not see.
So Bianca did annoy me a tiny bit in this book but she more than makes up for it and towards the end I fell in love with her all over again. It's not easy to regain yourself after being broken apart by a loved one. I adore Bianca for taking that chance on life and coming out shining like the unicorn that she is.
In Mile High we saw that Lucas was this perfect flirt who was possibly made by angels. I LOVED seeing his vulnerable side, I adore the self realization that he went through and I so appreciate a man who knows that he is absolutely gone for his woman.
This book was definitely an emotional roller coaster that I LOVED being on. From steamy to heart breaking to sweet, this story had everything in spades. It's a story of finding yourself for sure but it is also about realizing that you cannot depend on others for the love that should have come from you.
Lucas and Bianca meet on a plane as she’s traveling to find herself after a divorce and Lucas is headed home. Have you ever met the right person at the wrong time? Bianca wasn’t ready and she needed time. Lucas knew she was “the one” and was more patient and understanding than I would’ve expected. I will have to say that I wanted to thumb Bianca up side the head with my kindle a few times....good gosh Lucas was a saint for putting up with her!
While Mile High was the foreplay in this duet, The Arrival of You is definitely the climax to Lucas and Bianca's story. The chemistry is off the charts from the very beginning and Lucas is the ultimate book boyfriend. Both characters must go on a bit of a journey of self-discovery and we learn that insta-love comes with obstacles. I loved the cross over of characters from other B. Cranford books. This is a well written beautiful book.
Incredible story of insta attraction turn meaningful poignant love!
I loved every single emotional moment of this story! When I read Mile High, I said it was all the things and honestly, I didn’t think the author was going to bring more things with the full story of Lucas and Bianca, but she did. SHE BROUGHT SO MANY THINGS!!
The best part of this journey was its realism. They didn’t just meet on a plane, have a good time and then BAM, happy-happy forever. It happens. But not this time. This time we get a journey of discovery, of acceptance, of trust, of perseverance, of growth and a whole lot of heart! I’m not gonna lie, their journey is not all roses, but it shouldn’t have been so props to the author for making me believe! I was rooting for these two not just because their story sucked me in, but because I felt it was relatable and I wanted them to #win :)
Beth Carnford is a special storyteller guys. You should all be enjoying her skills!
The story of Bianca and Lucas from Mile High (Recommend you read the novella first) continues in this story. After their steamy, instant attraction on the flight Bianca agrees to stay with Lucas for a visit and see how things go. It was not an easy road to happiness in this one, and there are some timely issues for the characters to overcome. What I liked about this one was how both Bianca and Lucas discovered things about themselves, learnt and grew from it. As always with Cranford's writing the story was littered with witty banter and comical moments to lighten the emotional load. Not a light-hearted story, but one with truly emotional growth. I adore this couple.
I really enjoyed parts of this book. Mainly, Bianca's journey. Coming to grips with her grief over the divorce and staying true to what she wants. That said, of course there is HEA but I will say that if one event didn't happen then I don't think she would have found her way back to Lucas. She just never seemed as into him as he was into her. I think she would have been perfectly fine just having a vacation fling with him and I honestly felt bad for her that she ended up with him. Which leads us to the part I didn't like... Lucas. I read the first book and I liked him. He was a little corny, but he was a good guy. You could feel the connection building and he let her take the lead. I liked it. However, in this book he is an egotistical, insecure, clingy, doormat. I didn't feel their connection in this book from him because it seemed that the moment they had sex it was all he thought about. It was exhausting. When she decides to continue with her plans he let's her go without putting up much of a fight which I respected, but he starts being passive aggressive and then the next day he kind of freaks out when he realizes she's actually leaving. Also, his relationship with his family was borderline incestuous and it was really offputting. Finally, the sex. Ugh. In the first book they had a steamy encounter in the airplane bathroom and it was fun. In this book it's mostly corny. I just couldn't buy Lucas as an alpha, making demands of Bianca in the bedroom. He was way too much of a sad puppy otherwise to be believable. Also, he is obsessed with her hair and biting her. Weird. Lucas was a let down. Bianca was great. It really came off that she was still in love with her ex although she knew he was garbage and reluctantly came to accept it was over. Hard to give it more that 3 stars for a romance when the leading lady would obviously like to be with someone other than the leading man.
When fiction takes on reality and makes it truth this is the book you get.
This is a work of fiction but the story could be authentic if these situations presented themselves. I can’t believe how well the author nailed it. I don’t do spoilers so you have to read to see what is happening but trust me when I talk about the authenticity of the situations.
There were times I was so frustrated with Bianca I wanted to yell at her and tell her to wake up. Then when I thought about what she was going through and what she had been through I would’ve acted the same way. Lucas was everything you could want in boyfriend. He wasn’t without his baggage but he handled himself in a manner that was so real. He was totally believable. The story told the truth and didn’t skimp on human reaction.
One of the things I really loved, was this story evolved just like a relationship does. It started out fun and swoony. I have to admit I was reading with Australian accent in my head (seriously, who doesn’t love that accent!). Then just like in real life it took a more serious turn. With that came the realities. One of my things I liked most it showed what happens when we get inside our own heads and don’t communicate. This book brought to mind issues I don’t think about on a daily basis because they don’t affect me and that’s a good thing because I got to see their realities in a different perspective. So the story educated me on certain issues, aside from Australian lingo (which I loved).
It’s a story that brings all the feels to the table and makes them real. I’d say that books a keeper!
THE ARRIVAL OF YOU immediately carries on from where MILE HIGH ended, and thank goodness for that! I would have been mightily miffed if we had jumped forward in time.
For Lucas Hawke and Bianca Evers, it’s a case of ‘now what?’ Their physical attraction never was and never will be in question – some of those scenes were so hot that I stopped reading on the bus and wait until I found some privacy – ha!
And it’s this attraction that has thrown them both for a loop. Bianca’s in Australia as an escape from her life in the US. After a significant betrayal by her ex-husband, Bianca’s questioning much of her adult life to date. If she’s not part of marriage she worked hard on, then what’s left? Who is she? Who does she want to be? What does she want? What does she need? Exploring a relationship with Lucas might sound tempting but is that a solution with a potential future? Or just ‘noise’ to avoid having to do some hard thinking.
Yes, these characters get the happy-ever-after I demand in romance books, but I swear, both of them did my head in at times! Apart from the sexy times, my urge to yell at the characters is also what kept me from reading it while travelling on the bus. They both – especially Lucas -make some unreasonable demands and irrational decisions. The bottom line is I was invested in their story.
Even with all the steam and questionable decision making, Cranford still managed to carve out space for a number of humorous moments. Australian vs. American differences in everyday living always provide a laugh.
More Lucas and Bianca from Mile High? Yes, please.
What I adore about these books is the humanity of each character. Each character is flawed, funny, and doing his/her best. There is nothing extraordinary about any of them, and therein lies the magic of Cranford's work. Families are as challenging as they are strong, love and relationships aren't formed in straight lines, and mistakes are made and learned from.
We see growth through hard truths (Rose, I am looking at you), support from old friends, and wisdom from strangers. While the locations may be exotic to this reader, the themes are universal and so relatable.
When I started the series, I immediately fell for Lucas. He's such a dreamboat. But Bianca's story cracked open my heart and she wins it by a mile. I adore her strength, her struggles, and her heart. Each chapter helped me understand her better, and why she made the choices she did. I respect her, which is my highest compliment. And the ending? Perfection.
Is this book hot? There is no question of the palpable chemistry our author pens for these two. It's spicy and sexy and all the good things.
Is it well written? Cranford's writing is gorgeous and flawless. Reading her words is a pleasure. And it's always fun to visit Australia through her eyes!
Read Mile High and then one-click The Arrival of You. You will be better people for it. Both are definite rereads for me.
The Arrival of You by B. Cranford A Mile High Novel
“Before you ask, no, I didn’t ask my parents to send her back and bring me a brother. I asked them to sell her and use the money to get me more toys.” ~ Lucas Hawke.
I ABSOLUTELY love it! I seriously just want to fly to America and hug Beth and tell her she did an amazing job. I mean a book set in my home country with coco pop and Aussie slang my favourite!
One thing that I don’t agree with though, I think Perth is better, sorry!
Now this book starts off at the ending of Beth’s last book, Mile High. If you haven’t read that I suggest reading that first, it gives you a little back story on our main characters, Bianca Evers and Lucas Hawke.
After sitting next to the sexy Lucas during her long haul flight and possibly getting up to no good together *wink* before they land Lucas asks her if she would come home with him for a while as she doesn’t really have any plan for her trip. After what has happened on the plane she decides what the hell, may as well see where this is going so she decides to spend Christmas with Lucas.
Lucas is over the moon the Bianca has decided to stay with him for a while, as Lucas really likes Bianca and thinks she could be the one, but after a magical Christmas, she leaves to travel around the rest of Australia to figure out who she is again.
Now the real question on Lucas’s mind, he just found the love of his life can he be man enough to let her walk away?
This is the second book in the Mile High duet. You really need to read the first book to get the full benefit of this one. The first one is short, but well worth it. Now, to this book. Oh my swoony stars!!! Lucas has to be one of the best book boyfriends I have ever read. Every description you can think of that makes a perfect book boyfriend he has. He’s sexy, sweet, patient, swoony, funny, smart. Did I mention that he’s patient and sweet. And that he’s sexy. Ok, just making sure. Bianca’s story is definitely a journey. I loved watching as she works through her struggles. There were times I wanted to shake her, but she is very endearing and in truth I was really rooting for her from the start. Think of her as one of your BFFs that you love dearly even though you may not agree with all of her choices. You still want her to find happiness and are right there cheering her on when her when she does. Together, this couple is just perfect. You can’t help but fall in love with them and their story.
This book will make you feel. This author has a talent for making you feel all the emotions the characters are experiencing. Most of the time you just read a book, but with this author you experience the story. It’s a joy to read every book she writes. I cannot recommend this book, this duet, and this author enough.
This was a perfect ending to the Mile High duet. I loved this sweet, sexy, learning about yourself, second chance novel. Bianca and Miles have this instant chemistry that is off the charts, but I am so happy that despite that, Bianca sticks to her plan of traveling and learning about herself. After 13 years in a relationship I think that stepping back from the instant attraction she found with Lucas and coming to terms with everything that happened to her is the best thing any woman can do. She needed to find and re-love herself before letting anyone else in. And poor sexy Lucas. I love a hero that isn’t afraid and actively looking for love. He needed Bianca to leave so that he could understand himself more too. I know it was so hard for him, but I just keep thinking of the quote, “If you love someone let them go, for if they return they were always yours.” He needed to let her go...had he not, he might have lost her. I truly enjoyed this book, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the interaction with Lucas’s family may have been some of my favorite parts. His dad is a hoot. Finally, I do have a question, did anyone else most of read this story with a really bad Australian accent? 😜
The Arrival of You is easily my most favorite story from this author!! Such a beautiful and wonderful story that I absolutely loved!!
One of the things I enjoyed the most about this story was how Bianca was true to herself and what she originally set out to do, which was taking an adventure of a lifetime. Yes, she had intense and overwhelming feelings for Lucas right away - there was never any doubt about that. But, she needed to take that time to explore and be by herself, even if she wanted to yes when Lucas asked her to stay.
And what can I say about Luc? He was soooooo sweet and swoony and the most patient guy ever - seriously, top-notch book boyfriend right here. I adored him. Was he perfect? No. And neither was Bianca. They both made mistakes, but their feelings were real and justified - and they didn't hide how they felt from the other.
I can't say enough good things about this story. It was fantastic and one that you definitely don't want to miss!! Make sure you pick up Mile High first before reading this one to see where Bianca and Lucas' love story begins!!
This book is everything I’ve come to expect from B. Cranford. It is filled with heat, heart, and a happily-ever-after. The story is beautifully written, and the characters were easy to fall in love with. As with all of B. Cranford’s books, I felt like I knew these characters through and through. I wanted them to succeed as if they were really my friends, and I missed them a little bit when I finished the final page.
In Mile High, we were left wondering what would happen when they landed, and I was not disappointed in the least by what they found. Lucas continued to be perfect book boyfriend material. He was loving, caring, and understanding of Bianca’s needs. And Bianca. She was sassy, smart, and ready for her second chance after everything she had been through. I absolutely loved watching her open her heart to Lucas and herself.
This book further confirms that if B. Cranford felt like sending me her grocery list, I would not only read it, I’m sure I would be convinced I needed the exact same things! I absolutely adore the way she is able to bring all the feels in a believable and captivating story. I can’t wait to see what she’ll have for us next.
The Arrival of You is the second & final book in the Mile High Duet, so that, in fact, means that YOU HAVE TO READ Mile High (Book 1) FIRST! This Duet shows fate in spades, and while I'm a hard a** about love, something about fate intervening is my kyyptonite. See, Bianca is getting out of a horrible marriage, so she's a bit jaded herself after being hurt so completely. Fate steps in to put her beside a man named Luc on the plane, and sparks are flying. However, while Luc is enchanted, Bianca isn't looking at things from a healed heart, so he's just a right now for her. Luckily, fate will take things in hand for them, as Bianca needs to know, not all men are like her ex-husband, and Luc is simply perfect. Now that they've landed, all the complications & drama of life is hitting hard, and now, Bianca has to figure out who she is, so she has that second chance at something great. There's a ton of emotional pull which tries to bring me to my knees, and yet, there's so much hope as well. But, does Bianca give it another go in the relationship department with Luc?! One click immediately to fine out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
The Arrival of You is the conclusion of the Mile High Duet. Book one started with Bianca and Lucas meeting on the fifteen hour flight to Australia, and this book picks up after they land. Their attraction to each other is instant and obvious, but they are both healing and questioning their ability to pick a good partner, so they have some baggage to handle before they can have a good relationship. They aren't doubting each other so much as they are each doubting themselves and their ability to recognize a truly good fit vs. what seems like a good fit on the surface. This book is well written, there is great chemistry, and B. Cranford really makes the reader feel the emotions of her characters. As a reader, you feel invested and need to see this through to the HEA, which is delivered after a few bumps in the road. B. Cranford can write the bumps and angst just as well as the happy, which makes this a well-balanced, engaging and interesting read that keeps the reader glued to the book.
The Arrival of You by B. Cranford was an emotionally packed, intense and beautifully written read. It was more than I could have asked for Lucas and Bianca's story.
I loved the emotion in the novel. It made me feel as if I could connect to the characters at another level, and made them more relatable. It was a journey for both Bianca and Lucas, and I was glad to be there with them.
It got intense at times, in more than just one way. Their feelings for one another were intense, their passion was intense, their stories were intense, but it's the kind of intensity that keeps you holding on. Swim in it, rather.
It also did not lack in the steam department. I mean, damn! Where do I find me my very own Lucas?
As for my opinion of Mason... Douchecanoe!!!
The Arrival of You is a wonderful tale set to take you on an emotional, intense journey of Bianca and Lucas' lives with the added bomus of an imaginary all-around trip to Australia. A worthy and brilliant read.
The Arrival of You (Mile High #2) by B. Cranford is a contemporary romance told in first person, dual POV. It's a full-length novel that continues the story that began in the novella, Mile High. If you haven't read Mile High, I'd suggest reading it first. Besides, the ebook is currently free, so go get it.
In Mile High, Luc and Bianca met while seated next to each other on a flight to Australia. Hitting it off with instant chemistry, they quickly formed a connection - both physically and emotionally. The Arrival of You tells the story of what happens between them after the plane lands. It's a steamy story about forgiveness, healing, and starting over. About figuring out what you really want and unabashedly going after it.
First, did you read the prequel novella Mile High? Start there. it's smokin' hot, funny, and will suck you into these characters like a Hoover. Luc, an Australian guy with a heart bigger than the outback meets Bianca, whom we know from The Avenue books on a plane. 15 hours later, both have caught a case of the feels. I did, too. Bianca's been burned, Luc is feeling like maybe he won't find what he wants - someone to share his life with. From there, the story is rich with fun, tears, surprises and an HEA. These characters are genuine - you feel what they do. Ms. Cranford has, yet again, won over my heart and mind. Her books are full of people you wish you knew. Not because they're super rich, live big lives or are larger than life. You want to know them because they feel like real people living real lives. Don't forget to read the Mile High first!
