Allies are turning into enemies. I have enough enemies already, thanks.
So… yesterday was Hell. Literally. Now, I find myself asking how a day could be that terrible, while also being the most amazing day of my life.
When I fled my safe haven in the demon realm to deliver news of betrayal and conspiracy to Rans, I thought it meant I was losing everything. Again. Instead, I've just gained the most valuable gift I could ever receive.
I’m hopelessly in love with the last vampire on Earth. That’s hardly a news flash at this point. But I never expected my feelings to be returned… and I’ve never been happier to be wrong. Now he’s mine, and I am his. Our lives are bound inextricably, even unto death.
Of course, at this rate it just might come to that. The demon we thought was our most powerful ally has been using Rans for his own ends. And he’s been doing so for centuries.
Until now, I thought Rans and I were on one side of a war between the demons and the Fae. Turns out we’re standing squarely in the middle of the battlefield, and both armies are shooting at us. When both sides are in the wrong, who do you stand with?
Maybe the answer is obvious. I stand with Rans, and he stands with me.
The last vampire, and the first demon-Fae-human hybrid. Together against the world.

The Last Vampire is a steamy new urban fantasy romance series from USA Today Bestseller R. A. Steffan and Jaelynn Woolf, co-authors of the Circle of Blood saga.
Download Book Four today, and enter a world shared by humans, fae, demons, and one very reluctant vampire. It’s a place where the supernatural threatens the mundane, nothing is as it seems, and love will either be the world’s downfall—or its salvation.
USA Today bestselling author R. A. Steffan lives in New Mexico, where the sunsets paint the mountains purple, and roadrunners roam the desert endlessly in search of their coyote victims. When she’s not busy writing stories about people loving each other in all sorts of different and interesting ways, she can be found taking care of her small menagerie of critters.
A rebel to the core, she is currently sticking it to the man by illegally harvesting graywater from the kitchen and bathroom sinks to water trees outside. This fearless disregard for societal norms extends to her writing, as well. There, you will find polyamory along with straight, gay, bisexual, and non-gender conforming love of all flavors. You will also find families of choice, profound friendships, adventure, danger, and good triumphing over evil.
That, and sex. Lots of sex. Most of which is not the vanilla variety.
I absolutely love this series and grabbed it as soon as it was live. So much more happens and a truth is revealed that blew my socks off! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because this book was shorter than the first 3 and the wait between books is too long.
It takes a while for anything to really happen here. Nigellus shows up out of nowhere in order to take Rans and Zorah to the safety of one his homes. For now, it's easier for the two of them to pretend that they don't know what he's doing and accept all the help from him they can get. Which includes having Edward go to hell in order to care for and protect Zorah's father. With nothing else to do, Rans and Zorah hang out at the house training, shopping, and Zorah attempting to create a weapon to use against demons. All is well and good until Nigellus feels his bond with Edward break or such and there is only one possible reason for that to happen. Myrial has made her move with this. And Zorah, ever the idiot who often acts without thinking, jumps to go back to hell with Nigellus to check on her father. Because, sure, there's a whole lot you can do. Can you feel my eyeroll? Something she learns quickly enough before deciding to go back to Rans.
It's from there that things did pick up. With his death, any protection that Edward had put on the two of them has disappeared and that makes it easy for Myrial to find them. Just as easily, she takes Zorah away from Rans and personally delivers her to the Fae that Myrial has been conspiring with. But nothing goes the way either of Zorah's enemies thought it would. Finally Rans and Nigellus make it there and the fight takes a new turn. Demon against Demon. And it was pretty cool. Unfortunately, Myrial's plan to weaken Nigellus has worked and it's going to take help to beat her. Luckly, Zorah managed to make one anti-demon weapon and it works quite well.
Myrial's retribution is a cruel one. And forced to act quickly, Rans does something that I did not think was right. After that's all done, Rans finally confronts Nigellus about the blood wine. This should be interesting...
Beware! There is a BDSM scene that I, personally, could have done without. I don't find near drowning sexy, in the least. It was consensual, she did have a safe word, she IS a succubus. But, again. I'm not a fan of water torture. At. All. If not for that needless scene I would have rated it 4 stars. But that turned my stomach. I believe the author should have a warning on this one. Otherwise I enjoyed this story.

Audiobook narrated by Gwendolyn Druyor, good editing as the rest of the series, definitely liked the job she did. I so needed to see where all this story was going, Rans and Zorah face a lot of enemies and the action it brings is fantastic. Definitely, the story kept me hearing late at night, so yes continue hearing these audiobooks.
This 4th installation of The Last Vampire brings Zorah and Rans to interesting places in their relationship with each other and figuring out the machinations of the demons and fae. This is a very good book, but I do not recommend this as a point of entry into the story. Go back to the beginning and start from there.
If you do, you'll get to observe the amazing character growth for Zorah. She was once weak-willed and nearly sniveling. She's been through the other side of several challenges now, so her mettle has been tested.
As a reader, I am most impressed with the level of planning that the authors did with this series. Random remarks and characters that might have seeemed inconsequential for the first book are very important now. In fact, there is one whopper of a surprise at the end of this book that connects Zorah to Rans in a new way. I didn't see it coming, but it was quite satisfying.
The performance of the audio is up to Druyor's usual excellence. She's a busy narrator for a reason: she's got mad skills and range.
Conclusion: Recommended for those who like vampires and urban fantasy with schemes and plots. If this is the first you've heard of the series, go back to the beginning.
Note: Word of god is that there 5ht book in the series will come out between now and 2019. An omnibus edition for the entire series should be available in January 2020 if all things work out as they should.
Rans & Zorah’s Fantastic Story Continues! Amazing Audible Listen🎧
The Last Vampire: Book Four Series: The Last Vampire, Book 4 By: R. A. Steffan, Jaelynn Woolf Narrated by: Gwendolyn Druyor
I am loving this amazing series, the storylines R.A Steffan & Jaelynn Woolf have created are interesting and imaginative, they are fascinating and captivate my mind and have me wanting to know what happens next. Rans and Zorah are one of my favorite book couples, they are so good together and they continue work to save the world. In the last book we’ve learned of Nigellus’ treachery and betrayal to Rans, but Rans still needs to work with him. Myrial is still out there threatening to gain power and wreak havoc in hell and on earth. There is plenty of drama, action, twists in this installment as well as some hot romance. I am looking forward to the next book, what happens next with Rans and Zorah and what the new development with Guthrie will bring. Thank you for another awesome story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Gwendolyn Druyor is an amazing narrator and voice performer. She continues to bring these characters to life, giving their own voice and personality. She is awesome with the different accents too. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
3.5 Fun and I liked a lot of it and disliked some parts but overall very normal quality.. rans is growing on me a lot. I felt like a lot of things happened but also nothing kinda. Idk. Will keep reading tho duh
Okay I've slept. Spoilers!!!!!! Untagged read w caution Sfw//I found Rans grew on me a LOT during this book. He was very sweet to wait for Zorah at hell's gate, especially bringing that salt shiv with him. I love Edward I'm glad we got to see more of him and of him and Nigellus' relationship. It's clear they care deeper than what we are told/shown for each other and I love that (who couldn't be that close after CENTURIES upon centuries with each other?) Also glad that some daddy issues were kneaded over in this book, made me cry. I appreciate Zorah's incremental growth and the rising stakes. I miss Albigard hope we see more of him in book 5. Nsfw//That breathplay drowning scene was terrible (I hate drowning things) I know she was never in any real danger but that shit spanned 2 chapters and I was so icked out like damn.. good for them though I guess.

Zorah is coming more into her skills. Zorah & Rans continue to explore the limits of their sexuality with each other especially since Rans has had 700 years experience & Zorah hasn't had more then a couple guys. Zorah takes off with Nigellus to Hell because Edward is hurt guarding Darryl. Nigellus & Myrial face off in a fight to the death. Since Nigellus is weakened from his trip to Hell & restoring Edward's health, Rans waits for the precise time & strikes Myrial in the heart with the knife that Zorah made with salt. Myrial has been working with the fae, Capsian. Myrial is demon bound with Guthrie so he/she gives him a heart art in an attempt to hurt Rans. Rans solution is to make Gunthrie the second last vampire by changing him. Nigellus tries to convince Zorah & Rans to allow him to be alone with Gunthrie. The couple no longer hold their secret & confront Nigellus about the blood wine.
I enjoyed this book. It continues on from book three (and you must have read or listened to the previous books for it to make sense and also because they are really good) but contains a lot more action, both fighting and sex. The story has definitely become more complicated and interesting for Zara and Rans and I can't wait for the next book. The war between the Demons and Fay heats up in this book. Zara has returned from hell with news the demons wanted kept secret, putting a wedge between the last vampire (her boyfriend) and his mentor. The only problem is with both sides trying to kill them they have to put there trust in him when a demon targets Zara's father. They could all quite literally end up going to hell. Gwendolyn is just brilliant as the narrator and you have no problem telling the different characters apart and I just love the voice she uses for Rans.
Another great installment in this series, Zorah and Rans find themselves questioning their alliances as well as needing protection but don’t know who to trust, as more deceptions are unearthed and if you think all has been unveiled, think again… These authors are masters of layering twists and turns that keep this story moving with action, suspense and heated sex scenes, as they continuously challenge character alliances while spinning their true intentions. Zorah and Rans walk a fine line as they search for answers and ward off enemies, as each new discovery leads to more complications and entanglements so devious that could only spell bad news for all.
Listened on audio: Gwendolyn Druyor continues a great performance on narration, keeping with the consistencies of the characters’ personalities and distinguished voices.
Book four for sure did not disappoint. I was constantly trying to find 5 or 10 minutes here and there to read. The first three books I got done the same day this one I didn't have the time to dedicate. Now having to wait until September for the 5th is going to be torture! Ransley (last vampire) and Zorah (hybrid) face enemies on all sides. It's hard to give a synapse without giving away the book. In this book we find out more of the back story of a few characters. But are still left with questions and an epic cliffhanger at the end of the book. This whole series though is well worth the read. It is riveting and descriptive so you feel as though you yourself are there.
What could be worse than time in hell? Oh maybe a battle, complete with demons, fae, thralled human cops a high speed chase, a dead human reanimated for maybe the umpteenth time! Oh my where does this end? Let's throw is turning up the juice on our star with learning just how much sex juice she can drain from people be them watching her perform realistic sex acts with her vampire boy-toy! On the way home let's run by Hobby lobby and buy some goodies to make a weapon to use in battle against a demon you can't kill. Fun times. On a finale note, let's create another vampire just for spite. Plot is getting draggy and sex scenes dull.
Woo this is another great installment in this well written series. There are a great many twists along the way and right now I'm not sure who is trustworthy and who is not. At this stage it is difficult to know how things will pan out for Zorah and Rans, I really, really hope they have a HEA. As for Nigellus, I'm not sure that he is trustworthy (hello demon here), but I cannot believe that he doesn't care at all for Rans given how he stepped up for Edward. My biggest disappointment, having to wait until September for the next book!
I can't get enough of these! This series is so great! And I'm so happy things are finally coming to a head with the blood wine! I can't wait to see where this goes! I'm also curious if by the end of this rans will turn zorah by the end of this it would make it easier for her to not get killed or die killing them both due to the life bond. They're all ready worried about what will happen due to him turning Guthrie might as well make it two if there maybe a war over it. And geez that demon battle! That was so awesome! Couldn't put this down can't wait to see where the next book goes!

Really enjoying where this story is going! Zorah and Rans are finding that there’s dangers coming from multiple places; even from some supposed friends. Another entertaining addition to this series; still not into the sex club scenes, I skipped most of that, but I do love the connection between Zorah and Rans. Finally, they are being honest about their feelings! They have good steam and are cute together. Plus, there’s some good action to the story; still a bit slow in the beginning of the story, but overall a fun read! On to the next!
Zorah's secret weakness for Rans is no longer a secret ... and the secrets keep coming. Be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor. Not only have Zorah's enemies not forgotten about her, but now her loved ones are also in the crosshairs. Will Zorah be able to thwart her enemies?
The last vampire is an action-packed, suspenseful and steamy story full of twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. I can't wait to read Book 5 of The Last Vampire series.
I really like the storyline, but there are way too many sex scenes. I understand that that’s how the main character gets her strength and food, but tone it down a little...especially since it feels like the majority of the book is one scene or another. I honestly don’t know what the point of the scenes is, and lose nothing from the story when I skip them.
This book starts with a bit of a recap bringing u up to date why Zorah was trapped in Hell looking after her father -who didn't even want her there!
As Myrial continues to play her cards close to her chest Zorah knows something isn't right! Fights, Hot loving, 2deaths all in a day's work for our loved up 2some. But at least they Finally admit they do love each other Yipeeeee💗🎉🎇🎉🎆💗
I'm starting to lose interest in this series now. I like Rans and Zorah as a couple but I'm tiring of some of the sex scenes whether she's a succubus or not. It's also feeling a little monotonous with the same two enemies appearing and being battled back just to come at them again.
I'm not sure if I'm interested enough to carry on.... No. I think this is where my reading ends with this series.
The story just keeps getting better, there are so many plot twists and turns it kept me interested. There is also a very big truth revealed regarding Rensley that is sad and hurtful. But there is one bathroom sex scene that quite frankly I could have done without, it was too long and too much for my liking. But overall a good read.
Could Zorahs life get anymore complicated, dangerous and emotionally fraught?? oh hell yes!!! She is dragged to hell and back literally while trying to keep those she cares about safe. not any easy task on a good day and she hasn't had one of those in forever it seems. Brilliantly emersion storytelling.
Oh man, when tapestries start to unravel, things get heated. First of all, LOVED the Sub scene! Secondly, Holy Shiznit! Things are all tying together and it's CRAZY! Loved it and I'm now gritting my teeth because I have to wait for book five!
Once again, Steffan and Woolf artfully bring these characters to life. I am biting my nails in anticipation of Book 5! Good plot, interesting character development, this book has it all. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Wow! This series just keep getting better with every book. The surprises you don’t see coming in this one will keep you on your toes and the way it ends has you begging for more. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series.
It finally feels like we have movement forward in the plot arc. For the last few books it’s been like running on a hamster wheel. Finally we might be getting somewhere. Unfortunately, I’ve caught up to the author. Next book is not available for a month or two. Bummer.....
Oh snap! Things are getting good and you could cut the tension with a knife by the end of this book! I love Zorah and Rans. Also, hello hotness... This book was all kinds of steamy. More please!
Life continues to get more complicated for both Rans Nd Zahora. Finding her true grandfather after their near tragic encounter with a demon has everyone on edge again.
Things are clipping along. There was a l-o-n-g sex scene, which would have been okay except it involved water torture, which is not my kink. Added to that the fact that I am not reading this for the sex. At any rate, on to the next.
