Marrying a Marshal #1-6

Marrying a Marshal Box Set

Rate this book
1880s, Cypress Creek, Texas

Ready to embark on an amazing journey with six U.S. Marshals and the courageous women they fall in love with?

The Marshals of Cypress Creek know all too well the dangers involved with protecting and serving.

But what they aren’t prepared for…. Is how hard they fall for the lovely ladies that come their way. Each of the brothers in arms ends up falling in love while solving cases, usually with the help of the ladies, of course.

Some of these brides were meant for someone else, but turns out those ‘someone elses’ weren’t all they promised to be. Then one of the brides-to-be is an outlaw’s daughter, and another got caught up in a scheme involving a bunch of kidnapped children.

One thing is for sure, all the ladies…and the children, are worth the risk the marshals endure to save them.

The books contained in the Marrying a Marshal Box Set are as follows:
An Unexpected Treasure, Book One
The Dangers of Love, Book Two
The Outlaw’s Daughter, Book Three
Falling for the Marshal, Book Four
No Time for Love, Book Five
The Captured Bride, Book Six
(This book can only be found in this box set!)

Author’s Note:

My Marrying a Marshal Series is a PG-13 rated Historical Western Romance box set with plenty of Old West action, romance, and happily-ever-afters. Reviewers of the single published books said each book was better than the last!

This is also part of the Hero Hearts series which is a larger multi-author series about men who love, honor, and protect their families, all while having faith in God! Brought to you by Annie Boone, Kate Cambridge, Terri Grace, Misty Shae, Cat McGill, Hayley Wescott, and Natalie Dean! Enjoy!

The books in the Marrying a Marshal Box Set are all clean, sweet romances between strong U.S. Marshals and the wonderful women they fall in love with. There is suspense, danger and romance in each of these books.
The Dangers of Love is the story of Greta who came from Germany to be the wife of Daniel Evans who turns out to be a loud mouthed bully. On the train to Daniel's home, Greta becomes acquainted with Simon, a US marshal who is helping transport a prisoner. Greta proves quite brave.
In The Outlaw's Daughter, Hank, a US Marshal, pretends to be married to Ella in order to infiltrate her brother's gang of thieves. This is a very interesting story with personable characters. The Outlaw's Daughter is a clean, sweet romance despite the thieves. It is well worth your time.
Falling for the Marshal is another great romance with suspense from Natalie Dean. This book has a spunky 28 year old lady from Boston, a dead bridegroom (murdered, no less), a US Marshall on loan to Cypress Creek, and an overbearing rancher who has way too much influence over way too many townspeople. I got so engrossed that I finished the book much too quickly!
No Time to Love is a great addition to the Marrying a Marshall series. This is a sweet, clean romance between Ida, a widow, and Jack, a US Marshall. This time the town has to battle a flood rather than a gang of criminals. I enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
The Captured Bride has a villain that is evil incarnate. The marshals know he has kidnapped many children. The marshals are preparing to investigate what ominous activity is happening on the mountain. There is an extra dose of suspense in this story.
I highly recommend this intriguing series.

Six short novels set in 1880's Texas.
1. An Unexpected Treasure - When her stagecoach gets held up, Louise finds out her intended is actually an outlaw. Deputy U.S. Marshal Andy keeps coming to her rescue.
2. The Dangers of Love - Deputy U.S. Marshal Simon is lonely now that his friend has gotten married. While escorting a criminal to justice, he meets German immigrant Greta. She reminds him of his Grandmother.
3. The Outlaw’s Daughter - U.S. Marshal Hank is serious about justice. He doesn't have time for romance. He's assigned to convince someone to turn against their family gang. Little does he realize the family member is Ella and they'll need to pretend to be married.
4. Falling for the Marshal - Tom and Samantha. This one didn't sound interesting to me so I didn't read it.
5. No Time for Love - U.S. Marshal Jake seeks out the local boarding house when he comes to town. The lady running it is a blunt and prickly. He keeps trying to befriend her but she only has time for work and pushes him away.
6.The Captured Bride - New recruit Calvin is assigned undercover. He meets kidnapped Virginia and a bunch of kids.

I've read other sets by this author and thought the theme sounded good. But I had a hard time keeping interested in these books. The first one was pretty good. The second one was alright. I liked #3 but it seemed a bit much that they shared a bed while just pretending to be married. Back then, her reputation would have been ruined even if she was helping the marshals. But the characters were good and the story was a bit more interesting. The fourth one didn't interest me so I skipped it all together. #5 was long and boring. Ida was miserable. She was afraid to lose everything good but it made her cranky. Jake kept trying and trying and trying to win her over and it just got to be too much. I skimmed through #6 because I found it a bit uninteresting as well.

They were all sweet, clean romances, even if a bit boring.

It’s a Natalie Deen book of course it’s five stars!

I absolutely love Natalie Dean books. She stays true to the time period and still gifts or female lead a back bone and a great storyline. All you need to know when looking for a western romance or a mail order bride story is whether or not it was written by Natalie Dean I love her and you will too just read one of her books.
Of course there was always a happy ending in a wedding, but there is enough that isn’t predictable to keep you reading. What more can I say the Natalie Dean I think it’s one of the best romance riders in the romance writing book genre. Trust me when I say I have read enough mail order bride and western romance stories that contradict the genre or make the bride or groom is in the stories have opinions that only exist in the 21st-century which is a big pet peeve of mine. And although Natalie Dean makes her characters human and very likable and lovable she stays true to the time. As I said above. I love Natalie Dean and you will too.

Six women find love and protection with their law officer's.

Loved each and every story in this series. Each of the women had a lot of fortitude in what they did in that day and age. The men were all good looking heroes. Who knew how to uphold the law. You felt like you were apart of each and every story. The cover for each story gave you and idea of what each gal looked like. Will read more by the author soon. Little Addie had Jake wrapped around her little finger so happy that Ida found her one true love once again. Two brothers found their help mates too. Along with a sister in law and brother in law. One big happy family some related and some not a law mens extended family.

Review just for the "The Captured Bride."

It seems this story can only be found in "Marrying a Marshal" series. It's about a woman who comes out west to be a mail order bride and is captured when she gets off the train and made a slave for a bunch of outlaws. The sheriff tracks down these bad guys and finds the women whom he met a year ago at the train station. This is an interesting take on a mail order bride story and I found it more viable than some that are written. The plot is well done and there is an exciting climax. Unfortunately, it cannot be bought separate.

A can’t put down western series !

This author is fantastic ! This series is full of small town, marshals, suspense, love, strong women coming to live in the West! I couldn’t put this series down ! It was a bummer when a book had ended but I would turn the page and a whole new book was there to read! I love how the marshals are tough outside but soft inside and know how to treat a lady ! A must read series !

A Great Second Reading

All of these stories were previously published books that I had read. I enjoyed them the first time and this time. Each story resonated as the rough times people lived when settling this land and the love that was found by the brave men bringing law and order to the chaos.

US Marshals

Great stories with a group marshals finding the woman who are strong and courageous. Marshals that worked in the same town, who were like family. Enjoyed reading these stories, hope you will too.

Fine read

Each book in this series has both a good story to follow but also all the men and women involved are fun to meet. The stories are not long to read but pack suspense as well as romance in every story.

Good Story, but…

What I liked about these were the characters. What I didn’t enjoy was how quickly each resolution came in the narrative. These felt like we arrived at the top and then BAM The End. It was very disappointing for me.

Not very strong stories

The stories were very shallow with no depth of character or story line. I wasn't happy with the first one and skipped the rest.
