Come spend 52 weeks with St. Faustina! Perfect for any time of the year, this collection of weekly meditations and activities by EWTN host Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle, author of The Domestic Church: Room by Room, guides readers on a 52-week spiritual pilgrimage through the life and teachings of the Secretary and Apostle of Divine Mercy, St. Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938). Writing in her usual loving, thoughtful style, Donna-Marie offers readers a light-filled retreat, helping them welcome the grace and power of St. Faustina's spiritual path of mercy and trust into their lives. Drawing deeply upon the wealth of spiritual insight and truth in the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul, Donna-Marie shares with the reader the fruits of her own discipleship at the feet of St. Faustina and other great saints of mercy, such as St. John Paul II and St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Rich, beautiful, inspiring, this book will help bring light into your life, and prepare you to share that light with others, as well!
I read a chapter a week in this book to help me focus on works of mercy this year. I loved reading this book and plan to read St. Faustina's diary now.
After going halfway one week at a time, I decided to finish the remaining weeks in one sitting. After finishing, I wish I would have read a biography of St. Faustina as I felt as though I was just meandering through random topics of St Faustina's life. This book educated me well on her sufferings and the mystical ways that Jesus appeared to her.
I was certainly blessed by the life and words of St. Faustina but I didn’t appreciate the author’s commentary which frequently pulled in extraneous references to her personal experiences and other saints in a self-referential manner.
A wonderful journey through the year to focus on St. Faustina with a specific goal/action of mercy for each week. Enjoyed the book and the weekly prayer and action to ponder.
Whether you read this book one week at a time or straight through I highly recommend 52 Weeks with Saint Faustina: A Year of Grace and Mercy. I learned so much about Saint Faustina and Divine Mercy. This is an excellent book!
