Wingmen #3

Anything but Love

Rate this book
Another wingman bites the dust in this enemies-to-lovers standalone romantic comedy.

For the past year, I’ve been working my butt off to start my own coffee company on Whidbey.

A weekend in Cabo with sun, tiny bikinis, and vacation hook-ups is exactly the kind of tension relief I need.

What I don’t need is a bruised jaw, having to bribe my way out of jail, a hellion set on ruining my life, and my mother seeing a picture of my assets on "The Twitter."

Caribou Caldwell is my worst nightmare.
Unfortunately, she’s also the star of my sexiest dreams.

What happens when a small town guy becomes the focus of a million fantasies? As Erik Kelso navigates his sudden notoriety, will his feelings for Cari turn out to be anything but love?

Anything but Love is the third book in the Wingmen series, a spin off of Modern Love Stories. Like Ready to Fall (Wingmen #1) and Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat (Wingmen #2), it can be read as a standalone romantic comedy.

Hot and highly entertaining, Anything But Love had all the right ingredients that made a perfect weekend read. I had a lot of fun reading this book, and if you are looking for a sexy story that will make you laugh until your belly hurts, this is it!!!

 photo D30C3DDF-73E4-497D-AF34-56B803603A38_zpsgjju4lrq.jpg

Erik Kelso is passionate about coffee; roasting it, making it, and of course drinking it. He has recently quit his job to open his own coffee business, but before he jumpstarts his new career, he is going to Mexico to unwind, in the company of his brother.

Erik is looking to drink on the beach and hookup, that's it! Turns out he gets way more than what he was hoping for out his vacation. A bar fight, he almost ends up in jail, and a photo of his amazing butt goes viral in social media. All of this courtesy of one fiery woman, Caribou Caldwell.

The problem with all this is that what happened in Cabo didn't stay in Cabo. It follows Erik back home; turning his life upside down as millions of women are now fantasizing about his manly goodies.

Caribou wants to make everything better and apologize to Erik before getting into any legal trouble, but when she goes to find him, Erik is less than pleased to see her. These two will start playing a game of hating each other in the most delicious way possible. The crazy situation that brings Cari and Erik together has them both confused about the feelings brewing between them; is it hate, is it a friends with benefits situation, or is it ,anything but love?

This third installment of the Wingmen series was sweet and steamy, exactly how I like my books and my coffee . You will laugh, swoon and crave a delicious steamy cup of joe as you read about all the crazy shenanigans both Erik and Cari get into. This is the sort of book you want to read when you are in the mood for something happy. So get happy or make someone else happy, by reading and sharing this charming story.

photo 8d5182ccfec9b27e51fa6a544c8dce_zpsyhdhkpgp.gif Anything But Love by Daisy Prescott had the perfect blend of humor, craziness, sass, banter, and steam to satisfy any romantic comedy junkie like myself. Ms. Prescott added the right amount of sugar and caffeine to make this third installment of the Wingmen Series addicting. So are you ready to discover which Wingmen is officially off the market?

#ANYTHING BUT LOVE

Erik Kelso is in Cabo, Mexico vacationing with his brother. This trip was suppose to be a little R&R and of course maybe hooking up. Well, this vacation started off with a little fun in the sun and soon everything went to shits. First, he encountered a crazy girl as well as her crazy jealous boyfriend that soon leads him to bargaining with the police, and then of course a picture of his naked behind was floating on the web after when he went cliff diving sans shorts. So you could say Murphy's law had it right: “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.” And so enter Caribou Caldwell, that crazy girl that he met in Cabo that started this whole social media mess.

Caribou and Erik, you could say are like cats and dogs. They totally get on each other’s nerves but slowly they begin to start like each other. You could say they are on the fast track to becoming friends. But what happens when friendship begins to get blurred and real feelings of love begins to emerge? Will Erik realize that his feelings for Cari is anything but love?

Daisy Prescott poured her readers a steamy hot brew of love, laughter, sass, and banter. There was nothing bitter about this caffeinated love story between two unlikely strangers who discovered that all it took was a naked behind photo to brew their unforgettable journey. So if you are looking for a steamy and ridiculously entertaining read, then I suggest you pour yourself a cup of java and let Erik Kelso tell you how he met and fell for the crazy girl with purple hair tips.

I laughed so hard that I cried!!

I love the writing in this one, from male pov( I am not sure if the whole series is written like that but this and last book are, sorry can't remember book one) but being in Erik's head was very entertaining.

I loved everything about this one;
* plot
* writing
* banter
* chemistry
* coffee-loving/working with it - hero

I mean what's not to love!!
all the coffee talk was a beautiful extra in this feelgood, funny & fun novel!!

p.s. shout to all of you running to your Insta after reading this and watching what you post! yup, once on internet forever on the internet...

all I can say is ...

It can be read a standalone!!

Daisy Prescott is one of my favorite authors. Her heroes are swoon-worthy, her characters are funny, and her books are never too heavy. They’re the perfect chicken soup for your soul when the ugliness of the world gets you down. She has created some of my favorite book characters ever.

Anything but Love is another installment of the Wingmen series; what I personally think Daisy does best. Playboy, lifetime-committed bachelors who find the one and are completely helpless from falling in love. They’re the epitome of why some women love the bad boy; they love being the one worthy of settling down for, the one who’s able to tame the wild beast. And one of my favorite parts – they’re written from the male point of view. Another thing that I think she does so well.

So naturally I was very excited for the release of this book. You have no idea how badly I don’t want to say what I’m about to say… but it was not my favorite. First thing’s first – I enjoyed it. It was light, mildly humorous, and had sweet moments. It was a fun book to read, perfect for the beach.

What it wasn’t though was the emotional and and hilarious story that I’ve come to expect. I didn’t have much of a connection to the characters and it felt disjointed at times. It just didn’t seem to flow and felt a bit forced. I’m used to her books feeling effortless. Also, even though her books can be read as standalones, I couldn’t help but feel like if I hadn’t read the previous books I would have felt lost as to who everyone was. It also felt like it took a long time to build up to the two characters meeting and really becoming involved and then the actual relationship portion felt rushed.

While overall I enjoyed the book as a whole, it just fell slightly short of my expectations. I do really look forward to continuing the series though and I’m a lifelong fan of Daisy Prescott. If you haven’t read her before, do yourself a huge favor and pick one up! I have enjoyed them all, but naturally my favorites are Ready to Fall and Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat. John and Tom are everything.

Daisy once again brings Whidbey to life in Anything But Love.

Erik Kelso needs a break. Working long hours trying to make a go of his coffee/cafe business, he takes a much needed vacation to Cabo with his brother Carter. Was it the sunshine or the tequilla that caused him to throw caution to the wind in one seeming fleeting moment?

It is here that the hilarity ensues. A reckless moment, a curious photographer and a jealous act of betrayal turn Erik Kelso's life upside down. Even on the small island of Whidbey, he can't hide his most private assets.

Seriously. Daisy had me laughing over and over again. She weaves the elements of viral social media hype turning it into a miserable situation for our man Kelso. He becomes the fascination of not only the female population aged 17 to 70 but the darling of gay community as well.

The book was made even more special as a result of a recent trip to Whidbey. Being able to recall locations on the island as they are described in the story created unbelievable mental visuals, including the driftwood fort where there were NO BOYS ALLOWED. This story will hold a special place in heart because of that visit.

I’m headed to Book Bonanza today and before going I challenged myself to read 5 new to me authors, today I’m sharing my thoughts on Anything But Love by Daisy Prescott.

Anything But Love by Daisy Prescott is a fun, cheeky story (and yes that is a pun on the main topic in this story) set mainly on Whidbey Island in Washington. I enjoyed this story, but I needed more time with the hero and heroine than with everyone cracking butt jokes and giving the hero a hard time.

While on a vacation in Cabo with his brother, Erik does some naked cliff jumping and then ends up putting on a show while trying to get his suit back on. Little does he know that impulsive act will have his a$$ go viral on social media and the evening news when it’s tagged as a famous musician’s bum, but once he’s identified Whidbey becomes a bit more crowded and the woman who took the photo who he has a bit of a history with shows up as well.

The premise of this story was cute and the author did a great job of showing how out of control some incidents can get with the advent of social media. When Caribou (Cari) shows up on the island Erik distrusts her immediately, but it becomes apparent she isn’t there to expose him any more than he already has been and their attraction burns brightly.

I liked Erik a lot and it was obvious he was working hard to make his co-owned coffee company Whidbey Joe a success, as well as helping his mom with his alcoholic father. Cari was a bit of an enigma, other than the fact she was raised in Albuquerque, NM, recently lived in California, and is a photographer by trade, we didn’t really get to know much more about her. Neither character was developed as well as I would have liked and as a couple these two spent most of their time arguing or sexing it up. While there was no doubting their attraction, I would have loved to see them spend more time really getting to know one another as people.

Erik’s a$$ shot going viral and being kept alive by a celebrity gossip blogger kind of overshadowed the romance relationship part of this story. I liked this book, but went in expecting a romance and that was lacking in this story.

While entertaining and fun, Anything But Love contained very little romance and love which left me a bit disappointed.

This book was a sweet escape. It is a part of a series, but I read it as a standalone.
My last few reads were quite dark and gritty, but this one cheered me up!
This was exactly what I needed.
From the moment I picked it up, I knew this one is winner.

If you're up for some funny, steamy romance, this book is definitely for you.
Our main characters, Erik and Cari meet in Cabo. Picture this. Vacation, cliff diving, basking in the sun... hot girl, hot guy... yep, sparks will fly! Personally, I've never been to Cabo, but now, I kinda want to go there too... anyway, a weird combination of circumstances and social media influence brings them together. How? Why? Yeah, I am not telling.
I will say that this includes one funny factor or let me say body part... and never underestimate a power of social media. Are you intrigued yet? :)
The love/hate aspect of their relationship made my day! You know, that whole I like you but can't stand you charade. It is FUN!
I enjoyed the dialogue and caught myself laughing on more than one occasion.
I highly recommend this!

I love male POV novels, and Erik Kelso's enemies-to-lovers tale with Caribou Caldwell delivered. It was laugh out loud funny, sexy and smirky goodness.

Favorite quote:
'Orgasms are great peace-makers.' ~Erik

Yes! Erik and Cari sure needed those as they dealt with the fallout from Erik's naked diving picture going viral and an attraction that couldn't be ignored. That calendar idea, its execution and reception also tickled my funny bone while wrapping things up nicely for both of their professional reputations.

I'm a fan of the Wingmen group of guys, so I look forward to reading about Dan's romantic tale in Better Love.

**I received and ARC from this wonderful author (THANK YOU!) and this is my honest review. **

Oh, the hilarity! This story was just a joy to read...as the Daisy Prescott gems generally are. Her brand of humor and "incidental" falling into love are charming and romantic, for sure. What makes them special, in my mind, is the realism of the character's personalities and the situations they find themselves in. It feels equally authentic AND magical.

The two stars in this particular show, Erik and Caribou/Cari, were quite the delightful duo. Daisy Prescott is one of my favorite authors when it comes to writing the male voice. That particular skill is probably the biggest contributor to that realism I mentioned. Erik Kelso was Mr. Endearing. I wanted to just kiss his whole face! In general, he was a basic guy with the typical focus and drive of most men. His most creative and complex thinking came into play when he was faced with a problem to solve. What a problem to solve! The journey of experiencing the fall-out/problem and the road to a solution were absolutely hysterical. His most creative and complex emotions came into play when someone truly special evoked the stronger, deeper, feelings. Cari was truly special. She was endearing for the fact that she had such a presence of mind. She was honest to goodness not taking any crap from anyone. She was honest. I enjoyed her snark. That snark brilliantly demonstrated her clear boundaries with keeping crap at bay and filtering the fools. I especially enjoyed her responses to Erik's attempts at using his trademark charm to woo her. She inspired him to break-out with new material that came from a more genuine place within himself.

Erik and Cari fell into working together to fix the "naked dilemma", seamlessly. It was organic and believable because they just fit together. It was as though each of them recognized that "something special" at the very beginning. Though that recognition was sub-conscious and didn't reveal itself fully until they were on the mission and "incidentally" falling in love. It is one thing to find joy and great comfort in the being together. It is something else entirely to discover that you are not so joyful apart. I loved Erik and Cari. I loved their love story.

It is always a pleasure to read a story that maps out the journey of two people finding that one person who encourages them to be a little more...that one person who feels like home.

The supporting cast in this book...complicated family members and cougars and Tomcats, oh my! They also get an A+. Fun. Fun. Fun. The perfect summer read. Thank you again, Daisy Prescott, for the honor of having a sneak peak at this delightful book.

Megan's Review

This was a hard one for me to rate. I think my excitement of having the third book in this series finally in my hands, knowing I loved the first two greatly my feelings of indifferent started to downgrade my interest. But, with hope, I knew I had it in me to trudge on and hope for a bond like the others.

I can easily say I did like parts of this book, as a whole it was an okay read. My like/love sensor was a constant up and down. I just felt very iffy generally, for it felt like forever, but in truth about the first third of the book. There was a lot of set up in the beginning and even more in-between Cari and Erik chapters. Further setting up the personal back story (Erik) and how we get the two together (Cabo) before they really were together.

The major high of this story was when Cari and Erik were fighting and when they started to shed that layer and get comfortable with each other. Even when they weren’t on a first name basis and he only knew her by the douche boyfriend and her purple hair their bickering was great. When they pushed the wanna be hate for each other out of the picture and gave into the small spark you saw they were charming. Entertaining. There just wasn’t enough of it for me. I could’ve loved this so much more if they truly were the focus but I didn’t think they had enough of the attention to fall in the right and real way. They were adorable with each other but not enough true emotion for me.

“We’re chatting.”
“What?”
“We’re having a normal, getting to know you conversation. I think this might be our first.”
“We’ve spoken before.”
“We end up arguing after about three minutes.”
“That’s because you are always flipping me off and glaring at me.”
“Right. I do that for no reason at all.”

While Erik’s personal story deals with familial ties and how to cope with an alcoholic father, add in how and why he meets Cari it’s a struggle to make the points meet on an even playing field. Where Cari comes into play is quite hilarious from a mans POV but it wasn’t enough to not bore me to a point where I was counting down when Cari would be back on the page or their story would move along in some way. That seemed to be my overall thought here. When would I have them back in a scene?

I don’t hate her anymore. And I’m pretty certain she doesn’t loathe me. We’re no longer enemies, but I’m not sure if we’re friends. Or more.

What happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo, right?!
Eh, not so much if you are Erik Kelso.
One moment of exhibitionism is one he'll never live down.
But can he change a misfortune into a good fortune?

This story centers on . . . well . . . Erik's "ass"ets, and the woman that helped make him famous, Caribou "Cari" Caldwell.

I enjoy this author's books because the characters are older, closer to my age, and she includes so many references from my generation that make things easy to relate to. That said, I thought Erik acted really immature for a good part of the story. In fact, he acted like a teenager. So it took me awhile to like him. But after more than one person gives him a kick in the ass, pun intended, to get his shit together, I liked the connection he built with Cari.

Overall, this was a fun and light read. I just wished for a bit more communication between the two main characters.

Whidbey sure sounds like a great place as told by Daisy she brings the area to life and it's town. It feels quaint, small town but with nature abound, city nearby perfect spot for her wingmen aka lumberjack type guys. Erik knows his coffee, a quiet private guy his life is changed by one photo. One photo that was initially tagged a celebrity (oh that name sounded familiar) went viral.

In some weird coincidence the owner of the photo was dragged into this mess. But with that brings good things. They didn't get along at first and well Erik isn't a big talker and usually has foot in mouth. Here's the thing much unlike Tom, Erik has no game but it's cute in his own awkward way. Cari is actually a good balance in that she can take the snark and give it back. She is the weird to his weird and that in itself is a laugh trip.

I fell for this crazy town and the people, everyone knows each others secrets and seems like a beautiful place to be. I love that the guys of Whidbey posed for that calendar genius! Oh and Erik and his coffee count me won over. I'm guessing Carter and Ashley, Dan and Ros could be next and that would be awesome. Once again Daisy makes an entertaining and delightful story with quirky characters that are easy to like.

So much fun! Daisy's signature humor is all over this book. Probably my favorite quote is, "This is the zombie apocalypse: Cougar Style." Between Erik's horror movie philosophy of life and the older women after him, this is hilarious. He and Cari have so many excellent dialogues that I loved, too.
While this works very well as a standalone, I enjoyed having previous characters pop in to move the plot along. (John is back!!!) And I really loved the Dan hints. Is he getting a book? I really want to know his backstory. Plus, we get a beautiful set-up for Carter's story.
This series just gets better as it goes along. I love the small-town feel with such realistic characters. I'm already waiting for the next one!

Erik sure is a possessive man, "I growl like a dog with a bone. “There won’t be other men. Not if I have any say.” Erik is quite a fan of his own ***, “I’m not flexing. My *** is rock hard at all times.” I loved this book I thought Cari and Erik were p perfect for each other.

Another Wingman bites the dust and falls in love!!
Another hit with this romantic and hilarious romance!
Well Daisy, you never cease to amaze me. Through the excesses of social media, cougars stalking and also involving some coffee beans stuff, Erik Kelso found love and it wasn't self evident.
A lot of fun, hilarious and awkward situations and some smoking hot intercourse, I freaking enjoyed it!
Can I say once again that this bearded man makes me swoon??? I need to move to their Island, really!!!
Ps: I lost count of the words "ass" and "butts", and I wasn't complaining at all! Damn the men buns!!!

Full review to come!!!

*********************************************

Daisy Prescott’s Wingmen series is one of my favorite romantic comedies series, she wrote about my favorite lumberjack ever John Day, so I can’t thank her enough for bringing the guy. So after the broody, romantic and smoking hot John Day and the former Tom Cat, here’s another Wingman story, meeting his match but also his worse favorite nightmare …

Through the excesses of social media, cougars stalking and also involving some good coffee beans stuff, Erik Kelso found love and it wasn't self evident.

When I read the first sentence of the blurb, “Another Wingman bites the dust …”; I had first Queen’s song on repeat in my head and then when I read the book, it totally makes sense!!

How a guy from a quiet island, owner of a coffee shop became a star thanks to his buns??Social media of course!! A weekend far away to have some fun turned into a nightmare!

Enlight1 (8)

I laughed so hard about Erik’s crazy sudden notoriety, even if sometimes it was totally insane. Once again, the drama here turned into something very hilarious and sarcastic. And I had so much fun.

In all this freaking mess, our Wingman found his match, and it was delightful. Through crazy horny stalkers and cougars, Erik managed to get a girl but damn it wasn’t set in stone, because when he and Caribou met, I can say that it was a festival of fireworks, not of love, more than hate sex!

Enlight1 (7)

Once these two met, I was so curious of their journey, how these two could fit into this circus? Daisy Prescott nailed it! It was tremendous from the beginning until the end!

Enlight1 (6)

A perfect tempo, even if Erik and Caribou were like oil and water, you couldn’t deny this sexual tense vibes … Smoking hot!

Once again, I was so thrilled to see another Wingman bites the dust and falling in love.

Another hit with this romantic and hilarious romance!

This is the third book in the Wingmen series, but can be enjoyed on its own. Expect camoes from the other MCs Tom and Jon, but this story is all about the youngest Kelso brother.

Erik Kelso is a 28 y/o single, tri-athlete running a coffee business on Whidbey Island, Washington. He lives with his slightly elder brother, Carter, in a house the locals have dubbed the "Phallus Palace" because it's just the two dudes and Carter isn't shy with the ladies. Erik actually is. He rarely dates and even rarer hooks up. His life is pretty much Whidbey Joe, training, and picking up his drunk father from local hangouts and taxiing him back home.

Carter and Erik sneak off on a low-budget Cabo vacation and the final night out is a whirlwind. Erik and Carter hit a bar, Erik bumps a gal with a D-Bag boyfriend who proceeds to spark a fight. While sweet-talking the policia is not his specialty, he manages to keep both himself and the D-bag from arrest for a mere $50. The girlfriend isn't thrilled, even if she's smoking. Erik can't believe such a fox would hang with such a loser.

The next day, Erik and Carter go cliff-diving, and Erik takes a dive sans suit. He's got a tight body for all his training, and he's not especially shy about it. He's not quite prepared to have his butt plastered all over the Interwebs, with speculation that those Buns of Glory belong to a popular celeb. When the hordes learn they don't, the chase is on to find out WHO IS THAT GUY!!!

Mortified, Erik does some tracking to find out the source of his shame--none other than the smoking girl from the bar. He tries to legal eagle his way out of the mess, but he can't; no one can find Caribou, that bar gal who pretty much haunts Erik's sexy dreams. And when Cari shows up on Whidbey to set the record straight, well, the t-shirts will fly.

Oh, this was a rollicking romp of a romance. It's really fun because Erik is a near-recluse with phobias that play out in his horror-soaked brain. Like, he's always thinking someone bad--or even, say, zombies--might attack, and how to survive in the advent of an apocalypse. It did crack me up. He's painfully shy around women, but talks a big game in front of his dude friends--which was funny in the juxtaposition. He's also very sensual, and when he and Cari do connect it's hot. Lots of special attention, and extra orgasms.

In the meantime, he's fending off the cougars who pretty-much make a game of spotting his butt and posting pics on the 'net. There's an exuberant 'zine gossip columnist who makes it his mission to bag this Hot @ss Guy, and the web posts are a scream.

I liked the enemies-to-lovers angle. I liked Erik's weirdness and awkward approach to everything. For being an introvert, Erik's a very approachable character, endearing and sweet. I really connected to his internet infamy and the fear that his mother might find him bared to all. It's so true that once posted, it's there forever, and it was really interesting to have a male character react to such a predicament. His constant embarrassment is entertaining to everyone, except him, and yet he's totally good-natured about it. Still, he does manage to turn his 45 minutes of fame into some new business that helps out his folks and others in the community. He and Caribou have their HEA and the book sets up two more books in the series, for singles Carter and Dan.

As a critique, I had a little trouble getting into the story. The book is written in first person-POV and Erik's name isn't mentioned until Chapter FOUR. I kept turning pages, waiting to see who was telling me this story, and that was a pretty long wait. It made it hard for me to connect. Also, Erik's a little agoraphobic, suffers a little anxiety and a little ADHD, I think. His thoughts zip along faster than my 7 year old on Pixy Stix. Just saying that I had a teeny bit of trouble keeping up at times. Especially when he dipped into his "survival modes."

I really did enjoy, and look forward to further Wingmen shenanigans.

It is safe to say that Daisy's books keep getting better and better. I loved Anything But Love. Erik and Cari are brilliant. Their humor, banter, and angst play out so beautifully on the page. Daisy does an incredible job of bringing this hilarious haters to lovers story to life and grabbing a hold of your attention from the first page.

The Wingmen series is slowly becoming my absolute favorite from Daisy (aside from the standalone Stan the Man Bun- he is special. ha). Her boys are full of antics that makes me laugh and swoon in equal parts. It is no surprise that Erik Kelso fits the bill. This boy is glorious. Not only does he makes a wee bit of a mistake on impulse in Mexico that makes him insta-famous, he is kind, hilarious, genuine, and a sexy coffee connoisseur. Shall I continue? Everything about this man makes him book boyfriend material. So naturally, I was laughing over his internal dialogue and swooning over his romantic ways.

Cari is so fun, a different heroine from Daisy in this series, an outsider. This girl is a handful that knows so little of island life and I loved how she kept Erik guessing, always on his toes, never knowing what was coming next. Their chance encounter left me curious as to what would happen next. Daisy brings the story together and starts off with a bang. Then when things come stateside, I was intrigued. Their chemistry is off the charts, a mixture of annoyance and insane attraction. Cari is the perfect match for this Kelso, a woman who doesn't take his bullcrap and challenges him in so many ways.

Their story developed in ways I was not expecting and I enjoyed every minute of it. Daisy Prescott is well on her way to topping my list of book boyfriends. Do not miss this hilarious story full of impulses that follow you home, romance you never saw coming, and friends to make sure you never forget that one time in Mexico!

After developing his coffee company , Erik and his brother are headed to a well deserved weekend in Cabo away from their small island hometown of Whidbey. What starts off as a boys weekend for two fo Whidbey's eligible bachelors ends up in a drunken weekend of sex , hookups and mishaps. During this weekend, Erik decides to jump off a rock into the ocean and in doing so loses his shorts. He has a quick bare bottom flash and a few whistles , but doesn't think much of it until he arrives back home and people are staring at him. Turns out Erik is about to become famous for a certain body part that a girl he met during Cabo -one he can't get out of his mind Caribou Caldwell had snapped and shared on her twitter and now that body part has gone viral. It would have been ok if it is was his back, chest or arm but the part that has gone viral is his butt. Caribou is in town to try and make things right and Erik just wants it to end as the pair try to find a way to work together - they find that the spark they had in Cabo is still strong and the thing both were totally unprepared for will be the one thing that sneaks up on them both in "Anything But Love" by Daisy Prescott. One thing I loved about this is we get to catch a glimpse of the other characters from her earlier books in the series which I loved. For me personally, another reason why I love reading Daisy Prescott's books is that the idea of living in A) A smalltown or B) an island is that strong community feel where everyone knows everyone.

If you are looking for a fun Social Media Mishap turned Romance story , then check out Daisy Prescott's latest in the Wingmen Series.

Man buns have taken on a new meaning, I don't mean the disheveled bun of long hair but the actual butt. Poor Erik got a quick lesson on how fast a picture can make it through the internet. Sort of like those pictures on FB of the teacher educating students on the effects of technology, but Erik missed that lesson. On a fabulous trip to Cabo with his brother, Carter, Erik decides to be a little spontaneous when someone took a picture of him. It doesn't take long for everything to go a little crazy in Erik's world. He's really just a simple guy trying to make it in the coffee roasting biz while being a thoughtful and caring son to his struggling parents. It was good to see the other wingmen for a bit, John's going to be a daddy and Tom is dragging his butt on asking Hailey. If you haven't read their stories don't wait any longer although it has no bearing on Erik's ordeal. I have found lately that I truly enjoy a romance story that is modern, real and comical because life isn't perfect. Snarky come backs and subtle digs are worthy of a loud laugh. Prescott has a magical way of bringing current pop culture into her stories and it always makes me smile. Connecting with her characters is effortless and somehow I feel as if I've made new friends. Plus, the stories are great for tourism because I am determined to visit the hot spots and hunt for geoducks. My early release copy was given by the author for my honest and unbiased review.

ANYTHING BUT LOVE is the latest installment in the awesome WINGMEN series from Daisy Prescott. This particular story, that takes place at first on vacation in Cabo, and then on the magical(to me) Whidbey Island, centers on loveable coffee consiseur, Erik Kelso and the always fresh and funny, Caribou Caldwell.

Erik and Cari meet and sparks fly from the start, but are they sparks that burn or sparks the ignite passion like never before? Daisy Prescott takes us on a whirlwind adventure, focused up some of Erik's greatest assets…

Humor abounds on Whidbey Island, and it is wonderful to peer into the world of Erik's brother, Carter, and past favorite characters from Daisy's Wingmen series, Tom Donely and the completly swoon worthy, John Day! The local ladies on the island kept me laughing through the entire book! The attraction and chase between Erik and Cari is palpable and wonderful.

Anything But Love hit on so many aspects of falling in love, when it appears love would never happen. This book also showcases vulnerable family situations, lots of laughs and yes, some steamy sex!

Get ready to jump on the Daisy Prescott Bandwagon, and get trasnported to an amazing place, with amazing people, once again!! To this reader, ANYTHING BUT LOVE IS NOTHING BUT LOVE!!!

Sweet love story about two people who have a rocky start but find they share a sexual chemistry. Erik Kelso is on vacation in Cabo when in a moment of whimsy he flashes his ass and the pictures that are taken go viral. Caribou Caldwell is also on vacation in Cabo and takes the picture of said ass. Craziness ensues and love follows.

Daisy Prescott is a talented writer. I've enjoyed many of her novels. While I liked Anything But Love, I didn't really love it. Our main characters here are somewhat immature and lack good communication skills. This lack of communication leads to a lack a connection with these characters to the reader. Their random hook ups and confrontational and limited dialogue was not enough for me to believe the love story. Overall the story was entertaining and Erik's internal dialogue made me smile. It was a good summer beach read.

I was given this ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Great story with the victim of this little mis-deed being the guy, and oh how funny it is. Erik ends up in a massive mess because he made a mistake. . . boy oh boy what a mistake. But that mistake leads to a world of merriment at his expense which he turns around for good and in the meantime helps bring about a very sweet turn of events. He turns lemon into lemonade and in this case a pretty nice HEA with his prissy little spit fire of a lady love.

Just wow...I loved this book. While we know know what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, that is not the case with Cabo. Eric and Carter take a relaxing trip to Cabo and the the next thing you know, the Internet is just buzzing. Laugh your way down Eric's journey into the age of social media, love, great coffee and crazy Cougars.

I was so excited to win an ARC of this book! I absolutely love the wingmen! Erik and Cari are two of my favorite characters, they are witty and the banter between them is flawless. I love that you get glimpses into all of the Whidbey island crew. I also LOVE the Gomez posts! I can't wait to see more of the wingmen in the next book. #HAG #wingmenblend
