Third Term: Why George W. Bush (Hearts) John McCain

Rate this book
For Democrats, Independents, and the majority of Republicans who are fed up with the GOP, a handbook for the most important election in our lifetime. With the indispensable The John McCain Quiz and Things John McCain is Older Than.

In details that will surprise even close followers of the political scene, veteran political strategist Paul Begala thoroughly makes the case that John McCain would be a third term for George W. Bush. He explodes the myth that John McCain is a maverick, and proves powerfully that he's just four more years of the same old thing.

Awesome, fact-filled book with WHY McCain is so similar to George W.
Now that Obama's won, there may be less interest in Begala's chronicles of the fall of McCain, but it's worth reading, as it gives context to the election!

Great book, pretty funny but fact driven and heavily cited. Mr. Begala makes a compelling argument that John McCain is basically another George W. Bush and this is not meant as a compliment. A quick read, highly recommended for those who enjoy reading about politics.

I would have to agree with Mr. Begala that John McCain would have made a rather weak President. There are several other things I do agree with Mr. Begala on as well. However, I feel Mr. Begala unfairly scrutinizes John McCain without giving all known values. Mr. Begala talks of votes Senator McCain has made in the Senate. His examples are sometimes a decade apart from one another. There could be many different factor Senator McCain vote yea or nay on a bill. One being a provision attached to the bill may have been wrong to vote for or against. Mr. Begala also calls Senator McCain a flip-flopper on his votes. I do not find this fair either because again some of his examples on McCain's voting record are many years apart. A change in his stance can be attributed to better information on the issue becoming available, hence, why his position changed on a subject. I am not saying this is so for all these examples, but more research needed to be put into this book before forming opinions like Mr. Begala did. This book does a poor job trying to convince voters not to vote for McCain.

It was so obviously written by a democrat .... who happened to be friends with the Clintons ...... but he posed some excellent questions and told some interesting stores that I think can also be for the other side. In this 2016 election where more people are going to vote for the lesser of 2 evils and not "FOR " anyone... this book just confirms that this is not a new " thing" but an ongoing lie by both partys to lie and manipulate any power and all power for themselves.

OMG, I need to read some fun stuff again! This book can break your heart. My husband and I are so grateful that Barack Obama won the election---and very gratified of how he has handled these past weeks.

Read this at the same time I read Obamanation and I was not surprised with either one, but felt that to be 'balanced' I needed to read hate speach about both parties.
