Been reading lots of serious books and wanted something fun, this totally delivered.
The gang is back to fighting yet another Demon King minion, and apparently it's got something to do with Crimson Magic Clan (because these guys are seriously everywhere trouble is), and most importantly, something to do with Chomusuke. I've been dying to know more about that evil looking cat, so I appreciate the info I got.
There was also lots of sexual innuendoes as usual, but now is not just Kazuma being all horny, is expanding to most members so now is actually fun. There were a few surprises here and there, and definitely lots of fun while fighting the Demon King's army. I have never seen that many explosions before, ever. But come on, Megumin was on the cover of this one, so I was half expecting them anyway.

I really liked this book and the progress of characters is really good, mainly two of them and their relationship, past and possible future, I truly enjoyed this book, well balanced between plot and action, hope that the series delivers more like this one in the future.

18 months (minus about 2 weeks). That's the last time I read a Konosuba light novel. I thought that would be enough of a break for me. Apparently not. The stale jokes are no less stale. The idiocy has long since lost its humor. While this group of misfits somehow always manages to come through in the end, it is truly as if nary a one of them has grown at all. It certainly doesn't help that my least favorite character is the love interest and it happens to be this book that brings that out.

Look -- if you're a Konosuba fan and it works for you, that's great. I keep wanting to like it, but every time I try it just rubs me the wrong way. Depending on what my library gets in stock it may be another 18 months before I read another one. I'm certainly not stopping by tomorrow to pick up book 10.

Another fun adventure

This was a fun read. This is the first time I felt bad for a Demon King General. I felt like tgeir was a lot potential but maybe it just highlights real life. People can have a lot in common with their enemy and they aren't always going to be evil. In the end it doesn't matter because they still have to fight. The reason why I gave it four stars is because I felt like something was lacking. I know konosuba is a comedy and doesn't take topics that serious but this novel could have been better with more gravity to the situation.

In other news it seems like Kazuma is officially settling for one lady. She wasn't my choice for obvious reasons but if this is what Akatsuki wants then so be it.

Also...Akatsuki was excited to get a second season...congrats on getting a second season lol people loved it.

While it was nice I felt that it lacked some of the expected punch, the emotional weight, Darkness was a bit underused in the second half, Aqua got to show some other skills and Yunyun was fun to read for a few pages. I think this was a bit to tied to the Megumin book series, I wanted an expansion on the matter in this book rather then what we got.

It was still a pleasent read, fun and more light hearted with a few serious moments, Aqua;s verbal spar with the demon general was nice and Aqua manages to undermine the general's efforts in a funny way.

I don't think the confrontation between Megumin, Yunyun with the demon general was explored enough, though Yunyun had her moment. The talk between Kazuma and Megumin was nice enough though her epilogue I my opinion did more harm then good.

Not leaving any reviews on most of these volumes has been problematic for my memory.

This volume as alot of Megumin explosion shenanigans which I enjoyed. I think the thing with Wolbach could've been done better, although it's implied she's still around...

I like Kazuma inventing dynamite in a fantasy world.

Romance. And exp farming.

Pretty good, but not as much of a banger as some of the others.

Bruh why is Kazuma going to the brothel right after everything he pmo icl ong fr /srs.

Konosuba plays out like my ideal D&D campaign failed successfully. I appreciated the backstory and progress too! Lots of spoiler stuff and callbacks that made me really like this one, so I'll save that for conversations with friends who've also read this. Onto the next!

The actual confrontation is really understated in an interesting way, it feels like they're building to some interesting character conflicts down the line. This one really thrives on the strength of its last big romance scene (and Kazuma's display of real maturity during it).
