The Vampire's Omega #2

The Vampire's Wolf

Rate this book
Can an omega shifter and an alpha vampire from opposing clans find happiness?

Sven

I knew the moment I went away to college, I was letting my family down. They think omegas exist to find an alpha and have pups, but I’m holding out for my own destiny--and my destined mate.

I just never imagined he’d be the gorgeous second-in-command of the neighboring vampire coven. Or that one night of passion was going to change my life forever.

-

Claude

My second life began as violently as the first one ended, and it’s taken more than a century to find my lost humanity. Not that I expected it to take the shape of an omega wolf--and the son of my coven’s greatest adversary, no less.

I’ll do whatever it takes to protect Sven, and our hybrid child from a world that says our love shouldn’t exist.

A Vampire Mpreg Romance.

Y’all the blurb made it sound like serious angsty shit was about to throw down and I was ready. Who doesn’t love a wolf/vampire pairing?

Well I was super disappointed because 0 things happened, like 0 things 😩. Some kidnapping foolishness happened at the end and even that was freaking sweet. Not the vampire/wolf Mpreg I asked for and definitely the one nobody needed.

Definitely as enjoyable as the first one. 👏 Man, I’m really digging L.C. Davis’ take on this fascinating paranormal world full of vampires, werewolves and hunters. ❤️ And I’m loving all the interspecies mating between mortal enemies. 😉 This is a very fluffy and cute Romeo and Juliet story except they don’t die with a very tragic ending. 😂 Nope! We got imprinting from both sides and lots of smexy goodness! 🔥 And an expected pregnancy that turned out to be such a great blessing. 🥰 Saw that twist in the end coming a mile ago but I was really enjoying this story so I didn’t mind it a bit. 😁 And that epilogue was really lovely. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series now. 😌

Awwww. Forbidden Love is so juicy.
Stolen kisses and quickies.🥹
I hated that they were separated 70% of the book, but I'm glad this one was dual pov.

The ending was really sweet. I love that we got to read the pregnancy, birth, and a nice epilogue.

It would have been PERFECT if Reyland was Cyril and Bryan's omega.

?????
Not sure what that was but it could have been way better.
The blurb talks about an almost war between vampires and wolves and one pair inbetween.
So what do we get:
The writing
For me this style does not work ... it felt like a newspaper article. A lot of facts without the emotions behind it

The relationship:
Well not sure I would call it that as we don't get to see them together that often.
Till 78% we have 5 encounters which are as follows:
1. The imprinting... they see each other and that is it
2. The first time they have sex ... and say exactly 3 sentences to each other
3. The second time they have sex (at 50%) ... with 5 sentences said
4. They meet to say they love each other and want to be together 😞
5. They look at their new house

So ... That is not a romance for me ...

The difficulties between the coven and the pack are solved with the pregnancy and without even discussing it

And the angsty part is at 92% for 3 pages ...

So all in all .. 1,5 stars upgraded to 2 because it could have been nice

Sven went away to college and stayed away. Five years later he is on his way back home because his father has cancer and needs him home. Claude is second in command in the vampire coven and the go between with the wolves. Claude takes a proposal to the alphas house to meet with him. When I go to leave the house I notice Sven at the top of the staircase, my heart starts to pound. I have just saw my fated mate. An a vampire and a wolf be together? What will the wolves do when they find out? What will the vampires do? Can a wolf and vampire mate?

3.50 stars.

I enjoyed the forbidden romance aspect of this story. It was enjoying to watch Claude and Sven try to deny their feelings and then sneak around to be with each other.

There was just enough conflict, action in the story to keep it from being corny.

What a nice twist on the forbidden love between wolf and vampire.

Overall a nice read.

Culture clash

I enjoy vampires and wolves, and this book gave me both. The story was unique and refreshing. I savored each page as the relationship between the two main characters blossomed. Different races, different cultures, coming together against all odds is a wonderful reflection of our world today. Bravo.

The conflict in the story left me feeling disappointed. And the resolution seemed rushed.

This was an enjoyable second instalment to this series. I liked the vampire/shifter pairing and Sven and Claude worked well as a couple and although their feelings developed quickly (as fated pairs do) it felt well paced and solid. I didn’t, however, care for Sven’s family at all, and still didn’t like them much by the end of the tale, but having enjoyed the first two books I’m looking forward to more.

This is a very sweet bi-species romance. The characters are well developed, and the storyline is well thought out. The fact that the two species are sworn enemies makes things tricky when a Vampire and an Omega wolf imprint on each other simultaneously.

Sven has never felt like he belongs with his family; he doesn't fit the mold they have in mind. So, when he turned eighteen, he moved out of state to go to college and start a new life for himself. However, when his father's health is threatened, he comes home after being away for five years.

Claude is what I would call a reluctant vampire. You see, he was born human and turned against his will. Eventually, he was taken into Thales' coven, and became his second-in-command. While he is loyal to the coven and seems to accept their somewhat elitist attitude, he believes he is a monster. He tries to not harm innocents, and because of his devotion to the humans of the town, he is tasked with being the liaison between the vampires and the werewolves.

On Claude's way out of the Alpha wolf's home, he catches sight of Sven, and although neither knows what the other has experienced, they both know that they have imprinted on the man in front of them. As time goes by, a chance encounter brings the MCs together in a stolen moment of passion. But believing they can never be together, they part ways.

After another moment of weakness, they part ways once again, but Sven fears this may be the last time. Claude, on the other hand, has very different ideas.

Due to an interfering vampire omega, Thales decides that he needs to send Claude to New York to help the coven there, and to get him away from the wolves. It is during this time that Sven's deception with his family comes to light, and a couple interesting confessions are made.

Of course, dealing with hostile in-laws isn't enough...our MCs must also deal with an envious vampire. And although there is a bit of action and danger, our omega MC shows compassion, and shows his mate just how well he and Claude's coven leader are getting along.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. It was a sweet romance with a lot of, not angst, really, but longing. Of course we get our HEA and sweet little hybrid baby!

Happy reading!

Sven, an omega werewolf and Claude, an alpha vampire are two unlikely creatures to be mated, but fate has a different plan. Unfortunately, the two, well mostly Sven pushes Claude away as he doesn’t want to be more of a disappointment to his family since he imprinted on a vampire.

“leaving my heart behind with my fated mate who can never be mine.”

Claude has his doubts as well since he’s a vampire. Taking blood from humans and even occasionally killing them.

“And what would Sven think of me? Shifters are protective of humans. He’d hate me.”

Claude comes around quicker than Sven, hoping he can convince his mate to change his mind. Only his plan doesn't work out quite as he hoped, and Sven continues to push him away.

This story was sweet and I enjoyed getting to read from both point of views. I loved how they both worked out their feelings and tried to do what was best for their pack/coven and their mate, even if it wasn’t what their hearts really wanted.

Though after some surprising news, Sven starts to change his mind about being with his mate. Sometimes we need a little nudge to help us realize what is important. Is he too late though? Has Claude moved on, respecting Sven when he repeatedly told Claude they couldn't be together?

L.C. Davis does a great job in showing emotion and telling a great story.

Claude is a successful vampire who does not actually like being a vampire. He was turned, not born, and retained a lot of his humanity. The Coven leader is suspicious of him because he lacks ties to the community.

Sven is an omega wolf who chafes at society’s expectations of omegas. He wants to take his time and find his fated mate, but his parents pressure him to date. Ironically, he dates a wolf approved by his parents while having hook ups with Claude. And he gets pregnant.

Claude and Sven get together and I thought that was the end of the story, but hold on there! Not so fast, sonny. There is more.

The second half of the story has kidnapping, betrayal, some angst and forgiveness? Claude has to make a choice and Sven argues for the path that leads to forgiveness. That was a bit too sweet for me because the shifter-vampire life seems like it would be more brutal. Like the first book. I was hoping to see some familiar friends and a little crossover, but that did not happen.

JJ Jenness does another good job of telling the story. I found Sven could sound annoying at times, but he is young so that is expected. I liked the voice he gave Claude. It fit and really brought him to life.

Full disclosure I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for a honest review.
The second book in the Vampire's Omega series is a standalone novel. Though it's in the same world, there are no cross over characters, yet.
Claude is a vampire and second in command of his coven. Years ago he fought along side the wolves in taking down a band of rouge vampires. As a result he's now his coven liaison between the coven and the local pack. His leader wants him to settle down and start a family. But Claude is a romantic and wants to wait for his fated mate.
Sven is an Omega werewolf. He hates being pigeonholed my his genetics. He goes all the way to Florida for college and only comes back when his father has health issues. He finds that both of his older twin Alpha brothers are preparing to be mated and his mother wants the same for him.
They imprint when Claude visits the ailing Alpha with a treaty for continued peace between the vampires and wolves. They have several intense encounters, but can they make it work? Or are there too many things at risk?
I really like this book. Internal angst and external forces make for an emotional rollercoaster of a ride for the reader

3.5 stars

I thought the story had a good flow. It does depend pretty heavily on the "insta-love, fated mate" trope to give a connection between the MCs, but I thought the pacing helped keep it from being too over the top. I wish there was some more background on why there is so much tension between the werewolves and the vampires, it ended up coming across more as a way to keep Sven and Claude apart.

I really was not a fan of Sven's family. I think some of them started to come around eventually, but they seemed so determined to force him into a role that clearly doesn't work for him. There didn't seem to be an interest in finding out what would actually make him happy (I really couldn't blame him for leaving to go to college). I wish we got to see more of the coven that Claude belonged to, something to give a bit more depth to his community. I think ultimately Claude and Sven made a cute couple, and Claude's willingness to try to win over Sven (and his family) was really sweet.

I have not read the 1st book in this series, but I thought this book read well as a standalone.

This was such a great book!
Omega warewolf Sven and alpha vsmpire Claude come from two different worlds, but both wish for the same thing, finding their fated mate. When fate step in and decide they are fated mates, well it seems like fate lost its mind.
They have to battle through this herculean task, that seems near impossible, if they want to find happiness together. They need to find a way to end the age old battle of werewolf and vampire so that they can bond.
It wont be easy as each family seems to fight against their connection. Can their love bring about the end of this feud? Can they live happily every after?
Maybe fate isnt so crazy after all.

I love the complexity of this story, the situation these two get put into isnt an easy one. It seems they have allies yet also enemies, they just dont know who is who yet. Their battle to bond and win their happiness together is a hard path to go down, but the love that have for each other makes any challenge worth it.

I recieved this arc for an honest review.

Sven is a young omega who wants more than what his family and traditions allow. He wants to have a life of his own and wait for his fated mate before he settles down. His wolf shifter family doesn't agree with that, but when his father becomes ill, he goes back to help his family. Claude is a vampire who is second in command at his coven. He is also under pressure to get married even if it is not his fated mate. presented with appropriate omegas in the coven, his master wants him to choose one and gives him a time limit on it. Both men struggle with their options, but when they imprint on each other, there is nothing but trouble for the two of them as they go forward. A pregnancy changes things and you would think things would look bright, but there is one in the coven who is not happy about what is transpiring. Danger and treachery is afoot and the reader will need to hold to something to ride it through. An excellent Vampire/wolf shifter romance and I would recommend it to anyone who has a shifter/vampire fetish like I do. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

This reminded me of a Romeo and Juliet story. The probability of the MCs getting together was so low because their families (packs / covens) hated each other. Peace was a nebulous thing. Also one lived in Florida. Making a chance meeting nearly impossible. But it occurred! Up until that point neither had been eager to be mated with a pack / coven member or other suitable Wolf shifter or Vampire. But suddenly a scent...an imprint occurred. Except the challenges to be together were insurmountable - at least out in the open.

A couple stolen moments only made matters worse. Absence not only makes the heart grow fonder, it makes being apart nearly unbearable. Suspicions are aroused! Why were these men acting differently way from how they did normally? Doubt of how much the other cares arises from the lack of communication - no chance to reassure the other one it's official was just not possible.

But a pregnancy changes everything - not instantly, but now the bandage has been ripped off! I certainly hope there are more books in this series. I truly enjoyed this story.

When I picked this book up to review, I realized it was the second in a series, so I bought the first book and read that. I was very excited to read again about that universe. However, I was extremely disappointed that book 1 and book 2 seemingly have nothing to do with one another, except they both have vampires and shifters. The characters from the first book do not appear in this book. This is just a straight up omega instalove mpreg story, except this time you have a vampire and a werewolf hooking up.

While I enjoyed the world building, the romance between Claude and Sven needed more work. I just didn't buy their love story because they had like two scenes together before they got pregnant and then got married. So, if you enjoy instalove shifter stories than this will be for you, but if you prefer a little more meat on your romance, then I might skip this one.

I have mixed feelings about this. The characters were interesting on their own but their interactions were a bit forced seeming. I know fated mates are an instalove/inst-attraction but this skipped over the awesome parts. I think that's what made me be on the fence about this. There were time jumps. A year here, five years, a month, six months. And we got basically no info on what happened those months. I am on board with the fated mates but I like to read about them getting to know one another too and this focused so much on their individual worry that the pack and/or clan would not accept their mate that they got no screen time (so to speak) together that was not sex. Their interactions with their families were good. Their personal voice was good. But their couple time was lacking. It didn't evolve any. Not sure if I will read others in the series. It isn't bad but it's not great.

Both dreamed of finding their fated mate...and one rainy they they meet .But Sven is a werewolf omega and Claude is a vampire,so a relationship between them is impossible. They're convinced that neither the vampires nor the wolves would ever accept their bond so they try to fight their connection and their need for the other.
I actually found adorable how they swooned about the other's qualities. Both so sweet in falling in love! That is until they get in close proximity...then the situation becomes incendiary.
There's rejection, forced separation, misunderstandings and a surprising news. Can they hope to have their happily ever after?
I highly recommend to read the book and find out,it's really worth the time. I loved it

I'm sorry, but this was...not good. The tone of the first 80% read like those super old detective narrations, which I guess is the trouble with writing in present simple tense. The whole story is the MCs silently pining for each other and separately lamenting about their forbidden love, even though the total sum of their relationship is making eye contact once and hooking up. Sven's allegedly horrid family didn't seem as bad as he made it out to be, other than his mum trying to play matchmaker.
The last 20%...setting aside the constant time jumps that served no purpose, the random afterthought of a kidnapping read like an afterschool special. Wholly unnecessary and lasted 2 min; drama for the sake of drama is lazy writing, IMO. I typically enjoy Davis' work, this was disappointing

Creative, sweet and fun romance. These guys great together and i enjoyed how they each adjusts to being the bridge between their worlds. The vampires and wolves each have very different cultures and that was interesting. The world-building was awesome and the characters were well developed. Well written and nice story-line for this short story.

Sven and Claude are so connected and i loved how they learned to communicate and trust each other. The alpha/omega dynamics were interesting between the vampires and wolves.

This is the second book int The Vampire's Omega series and can be read as a standalone.

I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my review.

To start with I haven't read many books where the fated pair is a vampire and a wolf shifter and then add mpreg to the mix and you have one interesting book! Sven is a wolf shifter Omega who comes back home after years away at college to help his father who is really sick. Sven's father is the alpha of the pack and when Claude is sent to make a new peace treaty between the vampires and wolf shifters, the second in command vampire meets eyes with Sven and both imprint. With this begins the story of a kind of star crossed lovers story! I enjoyed it a lot, no surprise since this is L.C. Davis I'm talking about!

Who says you have to be enemies just because you are different? Sven, disconected from his family longs for a connection. Claude a turned Alpha vampire fights to avoid stereotypical habits and the elitist values of Vampires. They have imprinted on each other and spend time trying to fight against their natures. They are working through fate, family wishes, species values and principles. Can they have a successful relationship together? Can they find peace with their species? Can they team together, supporting each other through all the trials and tribulations they may face as a blended couple? Amazing story! I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

I really enjoyed this story of forbidden love between an omega wolf and an alpha vampire who discover they are fated mates (referred to as Imprinting here). The struggle to deny fate and their feelings sets a rich tapestry of angst, uncertainty, and secrets. Family and pack/coven relations set up barriers, but in the end love will not be denied...or will it. I loved Claude and Sven, and all the secondary characters, too, even Reyland. I hope we get to see him find his mate in a future book. I hope this turns into a series, as I would love to see more of these characters

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!

Another absolutely amazing story. This series is fantastic. The characters are given such care. The depth of Sven as the Omega wolf, just makes you fall in love with his independence. Claude is a made Vampire with a huge conscience. His uniqueness is what makes him the perfect go between to negotiate a treaty for the Wolves and Vampires. This is a FABULOUS book of how love can change the world. These books can be read as standalones but BOTH books so far have been INCREDIBLE and I'm so looking forward to the next one. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!

This is my 1st read and review for this author and it’s a great read I enjoyed it, this is a sweet romance between a werewolf Sven and a vampire Claude. Claude was turned against his will he believes that he is a monster but he cares for the humans so much that he has been made a liaison between the Vampires and the werewolves. Sven is an omega his family believed that he should find himself an alpha and not go to college, well Sven did find his alpha but it is in the Vampire Claude. But really can a vampire and werewolf be mates?, well Sven doesn’t think so but after some shocking news Sven changes his mind about Claude. A great m/m story.
