90 Comforting Devotions Will Lead You to a Future of Hope and Joy
Followers of Jesus have real, eternal hope of a future with departed ones, and that foundational bedrock will sustain us through the most personal of losses—but still, grieving the death of a loved one—a family member, spouse, friend, or infant—is among life’s most difficult challenges.
These 90 comforting devotions will gently lead you through the stages of grief by relying on sound Bible wisdom. Each entry includes a title, scripture, devotion, and prayer, and will guide you through shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing, and acceptance.

This approach to grief is general with Bible verses and how it relates to the grieving in different situations. You might be the husband, wife, parent, sibling, friend or co-worker. You will find entries that apply to you or someone you know. Take time to let the words sink in. When you are grieving, sometimes you cannot consume anything you hear or read. If the time isn't right for you, give it a month or two then try again. Personally, I don't remember much about the first six months after my husband died. A year has passed and I am more than ready to find and understand the new single me. This book will help you to get a better grasp of your feelings and how they fit into the world of you without your loved one. May God meet you in your time of need. This book was given to me by Netgalley and the publisher to read and review.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. This is a helpful book for those who are grieving. A lot of it is geared toward the loss of spouses but there are a few entries about other losses, such as parents, children and other relatives. Each entry has a Bible Verse, little story or application and a prayer at the end. Overall, I would rate this book at a solid 3.5. A lot of the stories were more snippets rather than a whole story. I think that was the intent, but I would have liked a but more fleshing out of some of them rather than I lost my relative, I'm sad but God. I get that but more practical ways would have been more helpful as it seemed a bit trite in some areas.
