Little Red Riding Hood is out of the woods—and into the den of a Bigger, Badder Wolf.
Scarlett Hunter escaped from the clutches of her rival and became a leader of the Crimson Daggers. That should have been enough for a happily ever after, but in between her coven responsibilities, her ongoing day job at a rising fashion house, and the werewolf refugee camp in the backyard, Scarlett has to learn to juggle—and fast.
But handling daily life as a leader of monster-slaying witches is the least of her problems when an old enemy surfaces from the shadows. Sienna is back, and this time, she’s teamed up with a pack of werewolves dedicated to the cause of hunting innocents.
To stop this new threat, Scarlett and the Wildwood pack have to band together to infiltrate an underground web of enchanted gambling dens. It’s a dangerous game, but one they’ll have to play if she ever has a hope of bringing their shared enemy to justice.
Sabre is a gripping adventure featuring a coven of strong women, a pack of fiercely loyal werewolves, and a kickass heroine determined to lead them all. Pick it up today and enter the world one reviewer called “my new favorite place to hang out.”
Here’s what reviewers had to say about Dagger, the first book in the Crimson Daggers
“A fantastic read that will grab you from the first page and have you on the edge of your seat.” - Shauna Joesten ★★★★★
“I'd definitely recommend this book to other lovers of supernatural stories and fairytale retellings with kicka*$ women.” - Lolah ★★★★★
“Don't start reading before bedtime, you won't get any sleep.” - Kindle Customer ★★★
I enjoyed reading sabre, book #2 A Crimson daggers Novel, but I can't fathom why it was called The Three Little Pigs. Other then a few reference words and petting some pigs at The Glimmering Harvest Festival. I did enjoy the continuing story and the return of Sienna. A lot of action that leaves us wondering about Sienna's next return. I like the way the Wildwood Pack is working with The Crimson Daggers.
I give Sabre 4 stars for its action packed story. I would recommend this book to YA/Paranormal Fans.
I enjoyed dagger so much I couldn’t wait til the sequel arrived- and my wait was rewarded! Another action-packed instalment with a villain you soooo love to hate and a potential love triangle in the making, this book leaves you wanting more! I can’t wait to see what the Daggers and the Wildwoods get up to next! Who knew little red riding hood and the wolves could be so good together?
I enjoyed this second installment. You didn't have to spend as much time doing the world building or character intros so you get right into the meat of the story. The plot was interesting and I liked the exploration of the werewolf world. It was interesting to see how the Daggers and the Wildwoods would work together. There was more Dagger action and less Fashion House in this book but it was still balanced. Scarlett is still growing as a character and even though she's being more responsible and serious, she still has impulse control issues and the need to "prove" herself on her own. It makes her very real and relatable and acting her age. This book was a fair bit shorter than the first book and while it wrapped up the things it needed to and left some loose ends for the next book, I feel we could have had a little more in this one. I can't decide if I appreciate that there really isn't a love story or a love triangle in this book or if I'm frustrated that everything seems fairly platonic and there isn't any steaminess. Either way, I can't wait to read the next in the series and see what happens next.
This is the second book about Scarlett Hunter and the Crimson Daggers, and I enjoyed it even more than the first one. Now you know the characters and the world, and you don't have to go through the whole "start-up". It's actually, more or less, full speed ahead, from start to finish!
I wasn't all that crazy about Scarlett in the first book, "Dagger", but I think she really grows in "Sabre". She takes her role as future Stiletto and leader seriously and she keeps learning. She still acts on impuls sometimes, but she gets better at asking for help when she needs it. Of course she feels insecure about her qualities as leader at times, but she handles it very well and she acts more adult. I'm quite fond of several of the characters by now, and I'm anxious to know how it will end for all of them!
I received an ARC from the author and promised to give an honest review.
Scarlett Hunter's story continues in the second Crimson Daggers Novel. We see her grow into her task as future Stiletto of the Crimson Daggers.
The book starts with an uneasy truce between the werewolves of the Wildwood pack and the Crimson Daggers. Neither group is happy that they’ve become close neighbours. Neither group trusts the former enemy. But there is a new danger in town. An evil that preys on the innocent. Old enemies become new allies in a final confrontation that will keep you reading until the small hours of the morning. It did me.
I got this book as an ARC, but this review is freely written. If you like fantasy and fairy tale retelling and re-imaginings you’ll love the Glimmering World. I do.
An action-filled story that drew me in and never let go. Maybe the Three Little Pigs reference in the title went over my head - but I have to admit I don’t remember that fairytale very well. But I loved this tale! The adrenaline on the page affected me as well. Scarlett is so fierce. The book is very well written and engaging.
I received an early, complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. I received no remuneration for it.
Diving into this next novel in the Dagger series was like coming back to visit family. My heart warmed at the tender moments shared by our favorite characters and raced during the high tension moments as they faced their foes. The pace of the story was perfect and unfolded seamlessly. It felt like coming “home” to visit the Glimmering World once more and discover the next step on Scarlett’s journey.
This book was another great addition to this series. Scarlett is now in training to be the next Stiletto, and is trying to work with her grandmas fashion house, help the wolves in their yard get settled, and train. She feels like she’s failing at everything, but when she’s put on a mission to watch a suspicious man, she finds herself in for more than she bargained for. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I enjoyed this 2nd outing more than the first. Both author Savant and main character Scarlett seem to have hit their strides and settled into the adventure. Many of the familiar characters from the first book return in this sequel, (including an unexpected reappearance). A fun series where Little Red Riding Hood wears leather and rides a motorcycle to save the world from evil creatures, and not all wolves are big and bad.
Wow - action-packed excitement for sure! This is a well done second book in the crimson dagger series. I was a little confused how it matches up as a Three Little Pigs retelling, but it didn’t detract from the story. I’d recommend it and look forward to the next one.
A good follow on from the previous, with a storyline that was not too predictable. The characters were more interesting, but if you want a romantic story, or were hoping for more with Scarlett and Alec or Brendan, you will be disappointed.
I was definitely surprised to have such a small sequel, but it wasn't a bad surprise, that's for sure.
Scarlett was still herself, now with even more responsabilities than ever and no time for love, which made me a little bit sad since I'm so in for romance. But that didn't leave the book lacking. The battle at the end was good and the book ended with a satisfying climax, leaving the reader to continue the story with the next and final book.
