I have read a few of these since I have been binge reading Karsak's work. When I saw this collection for only $0.99 for the first week I couldn't resist. Especially since a few of these stories are new to me. The stories I have read (Red Riding Hood, Alice, and Rapunzel) I copied my reviews to this so I can give a overall rating of this collection.

The overall rating is comprised of the average of the following ratings:

Curiouser and Curiouser: Steampunk Alice in Wonderland: 4/5
A great mixture of Alice in Wonderland and steampunk. I loved how Wonderland's characters were incorporated into this universe as humans.

Wolves and Daggers: Steampunk Red Riding Hood: 5/5
Steampunk London with a society, Red Capes, that are monster hunters. Clemeny is a werewolf hunter. Werewolf Knights Templars. And a mage werewolf.
I loved this book. I don't read steampunk but I love retellings so I figured I would give this a try and I don't regret it. I am moving on to the next book to find out what happens next for Clemeny.

Princesses and Frogs: Steampunk Frog Prince: 3/5
A very short story about ending slavery with a frog and princess.

Chasing the Star Garden: The Airship Racing Chronicles Book 1: 3/5
This was a very interesting story. Lily is interesting character with a rough past. She drinks, takes opium, and has multiple lovers. As the book progresses she changes though. She wants to be better and by the end decided to take steps to change. I enjoyed seeing the progression of her will to change. I am excited to see what the next book will bring.

Warning: drug use, alcohol use, sexual abuse

Alphas and Airships: Steampunk Red Riding Hood Book 2: 4/5

Golden Braids and Dragon Blades: Steampunk Rapunzel: 4/5
What a interesting take on Rapunzel. I really loved this book. The mix of steampunk, fairytale, and Arthurian legends was perfect and made a fascinating story that I couldn't put down. I really hope there will be more in this series because it's so good.

Dirty Deeds and Blood Knaves: A Steampunk Alice in Wonderland Short Story: 3/5

Amazing collection!

I love the steampunk fairytale stories and the steampunk red ridding hood. This is an amazing collection that introduces the reader to several of the author's collections. I love how there are appearances of characters from the other series (Red riddinghood and the airship chronicles),as well as characters from other books. It makes the steampunk world that the author created seem real and like one world.

Review for Curiouser and Curiouser:
A twist on Alice in Wonderland, and a great one at that! All the characters we know and love from the original story are here and they all play a part in the real world while Alice tries to beat the Queen of Hearts in a dirty game. If you thought the Queen of Hearts was ruthless in the story we know, she's worse in this one. The author does a great job describing the details in this story. Alice get's pulled back in the life of a thief when the Caterpillar needs her help. And of course she'll stop at nothing to help him because her dear friend the Mad Hatter's life depends on it. But will she be able to pull of the biggest heist of her life in this dangerous game the Queen of Hearts has going? Can't wait to read more tales in this series!

Fantastic

Four and a half stars, if it were possible. Ms. Karsak is one highly imaginative lady. She's taken fabled characters (Little Red Riding Hood as one example), put them into Steampunk Victorian settings, and then gave them great adventures.

Note this book is truly a collection, consisting of five novels and two short stories. There's a lot here, and it's all very well done.

Wonderful sampler

It was a pleasure to re-read most of the stories in this collection. It's a definite winner if you've not read any of the steam punk fairy tales.

This is sort of a chocolate sampler without those off bits that don't taste that great. Great introduction to a really engrossing universe.

Refreshing genre of stories overall!

I love the strength in so many characters. Faced with different circumstances. Each using logic and science to prevail. Add in twisted fairy tales and paranormal existence! Always an uplifting battle filled experience.
