Lauren I was in my own world, minding my own business, but he chose my table. He has no manners and doesn’t think twice about the weight of his words. Why him? He must have slipped something in my chai tea. Nigel When I woke up this morning, I didn’t plan to meet the woman I wasn’t strong enough to walk away from. But she’s here. In this coffee shop. And she answers my questions with more questions. It should be irritating as hell, not sexy. Or maybe somebody slipped something in my coffee.

With the exception of maybe 2 - 3 writing issues, this was a well-written, cute short story. I loved the humorous meet-cute (I hate that term, by the way), with the H/h's banter, and I liked the way they spent their day together. Even though I felt a lil' squeamish with their insta-sex (which wasn't a blow-by-blow detailed report, thank the gods) I still enjoyed the read. I actually think that this could have been a really awesome story if it was longer - at least novella length.
This review is short and sweet, just like this story is. Nigel sees Lauren in a coffee shop, and he just has to meet her. She gives him a hard time, but he’s secretly enjoying the push and pull. He learns her name because it’s written on her coffee cup. Nigel asks Lauren to a movie, and she finally relents and says yes. She does NOT know his name until they are at the theatre.😮 They go to dinner, she tells him she wants him, they go to her place and have sex. It is not erotic by any means. The end.
It could have been a decent story; however, it definitely lacks much needed depth. We know Lauren is a writer and has curly unruly hair. That is it! We know even less about Nigel except that he has brown hair and baby blues. That is all we know about good ole Nigel. This may make a good outline for a book, but that is all. I blame myself for not realizing that this “book” had only 5 chapters. Had I known, I would not have bothered. Notwithstanding my inattentiveness, I can only rate this a generous 1.5 stars.
The story was cute if a bit unbelievable with the premise of beginning conversation. *smirk* Laura was sitting in a coffee shop writing a story/article when Nigel saw her and wanted to get to know her better. The way he went about it was impractical in my opinion but once getting past that detail, it was a nice run of transition of events throughout the day that led to a satisfying ending. It was a nice story to start my morning. :)
This was a nice quick story of a woman meeting a young man in a coffee shop, and then going out on a date. It reminded me of the author. Sitting in the coffee shop drinking coffee, but in the story it was tea. And trying to hold off the guy so she didn’t have to go on a date. Even though she went and had a nice time seeing a movie and dinner. With a little bit of loving to end the night. ❤️
I give the author points for creativity on how they met. Really cute and ive always wanted something like that to happen to me. Also the game with the friends at the restaurant was cute too. But the stpry was way too short and sudden. And the St. Patricks Day thing at the end was just kind of weird. Maybe ill check out a longer story by this author.
The writer wrote the sorry if s chance meeting in a coffee house. He was persistent but he had a Grand bottom that she was what he needed. Not withstanding she had her job to complete. He was focused on her, his mind and heart, spirit all wanted Lauren....
I discovered Ms. Royal when I read Country Temptation. She has an amazing selection in that compilation. I looked for other books by her and found this one. The short story tells about a meeting between Nigel and Lauren and the day they spent together. No detailed sexual encounters, just a sweet story about two really interesting people!
I really liked the way Nigel and Lauren hooked up. The way they got to know each other was playful and fun. It also held a lot of truth and maybe luck with the help of friends. I really wanted more. A good quick read for that fix we sometimes need.
This was a pretty good read. Better than I thought it would be, that's for sure. I loved the humor. I love the chemistry. And I loved the sexiness. Good job Ms. Royal
This was really a short story. Love the way they met in the coffee shop. I was excited to see what would follow after the night they spent together but the story ended. Good storyline, but It was a little bit too short.
What an awesome read!! Nigel and Lauren were too cute for words. It was one of the best meet cutes I've ever read. Short, so sweet, and a definite must-read.
The book was like a fast pace car chase as u start getting into the book bam u have reached the end but all in all it had the potential off been a good read
I enjoyed this short story about Lauren & Nigel. They met at a coffee shop when Nigel sat at her table. Lauren went outside of her usual comfort level, & ended up going to a movie & dinner with Nigel. A nice quick story about taking a chance in life. I would read more from this author.
