Encounters

Encounters is a collection of poetry and prose that dives deep into the emotional senses we all connect with. Though Encounters can be read as a bundle of individual poems, together it makes up a story of a person’s highest flights and darkest lows. It recounts the encounters we as humans experience through love and heartbreak, the loss of those closest to us, and our connections with humanity and nature.

About the author

Martha Hodge, known as Mattie Hodge, was born in Canada but grew up between Toronto and London, U.K. Although she considers herself a Torontonian to the core, she will never turn down a good cup of tea. Growing up with a mixed heritage, her life experiences enabled her to perceive the world with a different view. She started writing short stories at a very young age which later evolved into poetry and prose.

This is such an incredible reading! The book takes you through the author's journey and really allows the reader to feel her emotions.
