Lost Boys #2

Demon You Love

Rate this book
Anton Scalene

I was born in hell, raised in a nightmare.
I was fifteen when I killed for the first time.
As a child, my dreams were about climbing out of that hell, of being on top of the pile of bodies and not one of them.
I live in the shadows, find solace in the darkness.
Until her.
A chance meeting, a fleeting moment…
Her innocence beguiles me.
I want her, but to have her would destroy the very part of her I crave.
And even knowing that, I can’t stay away, until my past threatens to drag her into my nightmare.
Letting her go is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but a demon has no business falling in love with an angel.

Due to language and adult situations, this book is intended for readers 18 and older. May have triggers for some.

Demon You Love is a story that I assumed would be your typical romantic suspense/revenge story when I first started reading it. Those are two things that may still be used to describe it, but what I got was so much more than that. L. A. Fiore's writing is phenomenal, and she crafted a story that was much more complex than my initial assumption. It's about following your dreams, overcoming your past, the importance of letting love into your life, and maybe more than anything, family.

Anton and Piper are both relatable characters that will undoubtedly steal your heart within the first few pages. They were dealt a shitty hand in life, but what they do with it is nothing short of impressive. Some may have given up, but that's just not in them. These characters are broken but strong. They not only fight for themselves but for the people they love. Anton and Piper didn't just make the best out of what they were given, they obliterated their own expectations, achieved things that they never thought possible, and helped others to do the same.
NWBU

The romance in this book is refreshing in more ways than one. There were no stupid arguments over miscommunications, because they *shocker lol* actually talked things out.  They listened to each other's opinions and took one another's concerns seriously without throwing their pride into the mix. Anton and Piper are both strong individuals that aren't afraid to be vulnerable in front of each other. They never worry that opening up will make them appear weak. The respect and love they have for one another is evident throughout the story, and because of that, there is no unnecessary drama. I can't tell you how great it was to read about a couple that wasn't constantly getting in their own way.

Demon You Love is my first read by L. A. Fiore, but it's the second book in the Lost Boys series. You can certainly read this book without reading the first one, but I would advise against it. I obviously enjoyed the story, but I can't help but think I would have loved it even more if I knew more about the history of all of the characters. Either way, definitely give this book a try if it peaks your interest. It's a well written, sexy romance with complex characters that will surprise you with their strength, vulnerability, and rationale.

Romantic suspense fans and romance readers that need a break from angst, this one's for you!

L.A. Fiore creates some of the most beautifully broken heroes I have ever come across!! Anton stole my heart right from the start and held on so tight that even though I'm at the end of his story, he still won't let go. And I don't want him to!!

So who is Anton? A man who is loving and protective and successful and generous and beautiful and sexy and simply amazing. A man who scraped and clawed his way from the gutter. Born and abandoned in an alley, he grew up without a name. He was an object, a possession, something to be passed around with absolutely no regard for his wellbeing. He was alone and desperate, but a fire burned within him. It raged to escape his beginnings, to right the wrongs done to him and so many others. He bided his time and took back what little he had of his life. He grew into someone he always dreamed of - no longer worried about what he'd eat or where he'd sleep. He'd found a family to call his own, friends to rely on, and a lifestyle that suited him. But he was still alone... until Piper.

Piper was all that Anton envisioned as beautiful and pure. She was young, but her soul was wise. She was kind and warm and real. She was everything he was searching for without really looking. She was perfection, at least for sweet Anton. She always dreamed of being a dancer and her dreams were just about to come true, but with a new man in her life, her dreams expanded to include him. With Anton, she realized that dreams really do come true.

I loved these characters so much! I admired how the author made Anton shine and how his glow only brightened when he became involved with Piper. I also loved how easily Piper saw beyond his facade, seeking and touching the man so very few were allowed to see. And how even when his darkness came to the surface, she never feared him or questioned him or doubted him. Not once.

She'd just seen the demon under the gentleman, and she still looked at me with love in her eyes.

Together, these characters explored a tale full of pain and so much loveliness that I never wanted it to end. They made my heart feel so full and were quickly added to my list of favorites. Reading this story, it's very easy to see why Fiore tops my list of must-read authors!!

Title: Demon You Love ( Lost Boys #2)
Author: L.A. Fiore
Publication Date: March 29, 2019

There are so many things I loved about Demon You Love. But all I can say is that, I simply loved this book.

L.A. Fiore has a knack of consuming the readers and capturing their attention with her style of storytelling.
Demon You Love is a fantastic read!

I adored the characters.. Anton was sort of like an anti-hero who WILL steal your heart. His past breaks my heart but because of it, he has exploded into a character that leaves you into a state of complete and utter awe ....and also leaves you a bit fearful of him. 😆
He is a character I know you will you will fall head over heels in love with. Confident, generous, deathly are just some words to describe this man.

54256320_2277201805733331_5825322344666628096_n.png
There is absolutely nothing to fault about Piper. She is a beautiful creature inside-out.

It's honestly almost miserable to write a review for a book you really enjoyed without spilling spoiler. lol!  Demon You Love is one such book. Anton and Piper's story is one of pain and sacrifice but also so much about love, hope and friendship.

L.A. Fiore casts a spell on it's readers and there's a reason why she has become one of my go-to authors.

Demon You Love is an amazing read with it's drama, suspense,  sexual chemistry and love story (yup... two factors that leaves you breathless).

Happy Reading!

★4 Stars★

Demon You Love is the second book in Lost Boys series by L.A. Fiore and is my second read from this author. I fell in love with this series from the first book, Devil You Know. Although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Devil You Know first...This is Anton and Piper story. A sweet, pure love story, of two broken souls and how they found each other.

After was born, Anton was abandoned on an alley. He didn't have a name and he became a possession for others to use as they pleased. He suffered a lot, but he never lost his hope and his dream, to become someone else, someone good and better, to help and save others, to make a difference.

One day, when he knew he was strong enough, he fought back, and he won. He won his freedom. He did awful things to survive...Now he is a successful businessman, he is rich, without any concern, he is gorgeous, hot, sexy, he has an amazing family and although they are not his real family, they are just his friends, he loves them immensely, and they love him back. But something is missing in his life.

Piper had a great life until her father died. Although her mother abandoned her and her father, although her father remarried, she never lost her hope. Her stepmom and stepsister never knowledge her. So after her father died, she became the head of the family. She supported her stepmom and stepsister. But she had enough. She wanted to move out, to live her life and to fulfill her dreams.

New clothes: She models the latest collection, which features leggings and leg warmers...

She wanted to become a professional ballerina. She needed to focus on her dancing, only her focus slips away when she meets the most gorgeous man she ever saw. But that wasn't the biggest problem. Her world is turned upside down when she learns that her stepmom is dying, and her bi@tch stepsister will become her responsibility.

Not enough money, the need for a new place to live, her teenager problematic stepsister, a gorgeous hot sexy man that blows her heart and mind, the most important audition in her life, or the danger that lurks in the dark. Anton's past comes back to haunt him and his most valuable possession, a mysterious ballerina still lurks in his thoughts, someone close to him betrays him and sold him out...Are Anton and Pipers love strong enough to survive all this drama?

Imagine similară

Devil You Know was much emotional, psychological and more complex. Demon You Love was much sweeter, lovely, sensible and pure. Anton and Piper had love at first sight. Anton is the perfect man...And I do mean PERFECT. He is like a ''genie in the bottle''. He makes all Pipers dreams come true.

sweet gif - Căutare Google

I am also very happy that I got to meet again Damian and Thea. They are amazing! Now I am waiting for Cam's story.

If you are looking for sweet, lovely, emotionally, perfect men and pure love, The Lost Boys series by L.A. Fiore is perfect for you. So go read first Devil You Know and then Damon You Love.

I highly recommend this series! 💓

It started a little slow and dark but then we saw Anton and Piper interact....WOWZER!! There is no denying their sexual chemistry, their amazing hearts, or their need to fight for family. Neither of them had traditional childhoods or families but their love for those around them jumped off the page. The mystery continues from Book 1 but this story (for me) was more about Anton and Piper finding their other halves to balance the life they have.

This specific video review will be included in the July 2019 wrap-up.

***5 ‘What If’ Stars***

What a way to start things off!
I mean, after reading the blurb I had no doubt that things would be all kinds of gritty and emotional, but whoa...that definitely hooked me, but what followed was definitely a pleasant surprise. This baby packs a punch on all levels ~ it’s sweet, smexy, funny and filled with a lot of heart that hit all the buttons and had me devouring this baby in no time and wanting more when there were no more words to read.

I adored Anton and Piper. Anton is a scary alpha AF SOB. He’s highly intelligent and lives in a world of blurred lines, but he is loyal to those that are loyal to him and though many do not get to see his heart, that heart is much more golden, and a lot less black, than most ~ even Anton himself ~ could ever imagine. Piper is a really good person, and I know that isn’t an exciting way to describe someone, but it’s the truth. She gives more of herself than she gets in return and yet she isn’t a doormat by any means. She simply tries to always do the right thing, even if it isn’t right for her. She’s hard working, conscientious, compassionate and owns everything that she is.

Anton and Piper’s journey to their HEA was definitely an interesting and enjoyable one. Their first collision was all kinds of meet cute goodness and I loved how fate kept pushing them towards each other in such a way that neither could dispute that something was there. I enjoyed how they gave into the attraction between them, admitting that things were happening quickly and just rolling with it because, regardless, they were both on the same page. The smexy was hot and their bantering a lot of fun. The big bump in their road wasn’t difficult to understand and I loved how everything ended up working out for them.

This was a great read, not that I’m all that surprised considering who the author is and she doesn’t disappoint. The writing is engaging, the pacing was good and I enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. There are triggers in this one, but I like how she balanced the dark with the light and the dark was a necessity, but done in such a way that was not gratuitous. And then there are the supporting cast of characters. Catching up with Damien, Thea, Edie and Rosalie was a lot of fun, as well as Cam, Lucien and Darcy. I loved Laney and Nina, and grew to like Candice, but it’s Razor who definitely peaks my interest. But from how things were left, it looks like Cam may be the lead in the next book, something I’m not unhappy about in any way, and I cannot wait to see what that book will bring!

Demon You Love by L.A. Fiore is book Two in the Lost Boys Series. This is the story of Anton and Piper. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book.
As we learned, Anton was fighting for his life since the day he was born. Now he has reached a place where he is more in control and is pursing what he thought he wanted. But one sight of Piper starts to show him what he actualy needs. Piper is a fun, innocent, tries to take care of everything but also wanting a certain dream for herself. Anton life is dangerous but to resiet the pull to Piper isn't working...can these to find what they both want and need? I so in love with their story....a page turner until I reached the end.

~ 5 Because of Pie Stars ~

And she did it again!!! L.A. Fiore gave us another FANTASTIC book!! Anton might have taken awhile to get to us, but he was sooooo worth the wait!!! I have been a fan of L.A. Fiore since I read the Beautifully Damaged series and I will continue to read her books.

Demon You Love is a MUST READ!!! This book is what a 5 star read should be. It had everything I look for when picking up an L.A. Fiore book. My heart and emotions were all over the place, but when all was said and done, my heart was full and I had a smile on my face :)

Demon You Love is the second book in the Lost Boys series by L.A. Fiore. This is a standalone, but not really. I would definitely recommend reading Devil You Know (Book 1) before reading this book. This book is about another couple but there are some things in the storyline that kind of carry over into this story. Plus reading this series in order will give you a better understanding of all the characters in this world.

This story will sweep you off your feet, you won’t be able to read it fast enough. I was so captivated with this story and I felt like I was a part of these characters lives. I felt what they were feeling. That is a testament to this authors writing skill and ability. I thought the flow and pace of this story was perfect!! I was immediately drawn into this story from the first page and I didn’t want to put the book down even after the last page.

This book was truly a great read and I honestly don’t think my review can do it justice. As always her writing was flawless and effortless. This story is told from Dual POV. I absolutely LOVED both Piper and Anton’s characters. I truly felt they were meant for each other.

I won’t be talking about this storyline in this book, because I think you need to experience the love story between Piper and Anton for yourself, but also I don’t want to spoil any of the mystery and intrigue that this book is full of.

I loved all the characters we met in this story. But I was so glad we got to see more of Damian and Thea. I am truly excited to see where she takes this series and I am hoping that Cam will be the next character we will get a story for.

As with the first book, I loved that she gave us some cameo’s from her other books. They happened to be from my favorite book of this authors so it was so cool to see them.

If you are a fan of L.A. Fiore’s, you don’t want to miss this book. If you are a fan of a book that will tap every one of your emotions and is filled with mystery and suspense and a love story that is between two broken people, who have way more in common than they realize…..then you NEED to read this book!!!! This is one for my 2019 Best Reads list!!!

The best stories are those that crawl so deeply into your head—where you're not merely reading a book but living it too. I did not just read Demon You Love—I lived this story. With its keen level of detail, delectable character chemistry, dreamy moments, and elements of danger, Demon You Love leaps to life so vividly, as if you are watching a movie play in your head while reading. LA Fiore’s writing weaves a spell where you are pulled into this deep and deliciously explosive story as it steals your heart and mesmerizes your mind. This book owned every ounce of me the whole time reading, claiming me from the first page, wrecking me from the first chapter, ripping my heart out of my chest, and making me breath in this story‘s every word. OMG! The rush I felt while reading was pure intoxication!

”I take your breath when I’m in the room. You do the same for me.”

Demon You Love is a deliciously dark and thrilling tale of destiny and dreams, a soul-striking saga of a hero plagued by demons and the angel-like heroine who saves him. This story shows the value of life and love, of friends who become family, and what it means to be unconditionally worshipped. This story’s hero and heroine are spirited and soulful, so raw and real, and the secondary characters shine too. I loved how Piper seamlessly balances the world on her shoulders with strength and grace. Anton is a dark knight battling demons and my heart bled for him! A devil and an angel with beautiful hearts—two kindred souls—are fated together in this shatteringly stunning story of serendipity.

”You’re my dream. Haven’t you figured that out?”

The die-hard romantic, the thrill seeker, the mystery solver, the swoon chaser, and those who love excitement with their romance will fall head-over-heels for Demon You Love. I fell in love with these characters and their moving journey. My soul shattered. I smiled and swooned so much. I felt every emotion that the hero and heroine felt; their devastatingly beautiful love story was MINE. A fire-hot fusion of fate and feels that I LIVED and LOVED. This highly addictive and heart-pounding tale kept me turning the pages until the end. Demon You Love TOUCHED MY HEART and SPARKED MY SOUL. I am not ready to let these beloved characters and their story go.

”Why are we impossible?”

“It’s impossible because a demon has no business falling in love with an angel.”

A MUST-READ heart-rending romance!

It never gets old to say: She did it again …. She being L.A. Fiore in this case….
I just finished reading “Demon you Love” and I slept the night on my thoughts coming up with that first line up there. Not very original I know – sorry – but the truth none the less
For me reading is often connected to music – and even when the books are finished some of them return to me when I hear certain songs. While I was reading my Air Pods played my Imagine Dragons Playlist and I stumbled across two songs – one being their latest release “Bad Liar” and another one (very fitting) was “Demon” – I can recommend listening to both of them while reading – and especially to take a look at the video of Bad Liar… - Having said that – I am pretty sure that the video of Bad Liar will make sure of the fact that this song will be “my” song for this book. (Even if the text of Demon would fit better it was the video of Bad Liar that sold it to me)

As for the story – well …it is not often that I do that but in this case, I hope it is OK if I use one quote
“It’s impossible because a demon has no business falling in love with an angel.”
There were a lot of lines I could quote but this one I think is my number one ….

I have been wondering how an author like L.A. Fiore is able to create a “magic” that changes something that is Black and White or in other words, Right and Wrong into something that that is grey and somehow is ok, justified and even good – when common sense tells you that it should be wrong.

The leading characters in this book are beautifully written and while I personally would call neither a demon or angel – I would say they are burdened and broken – and it’s almost a miracle that Anton is not beyond repair – that much is sure.
The storyline – might not be completely unique but the way it is constructed Ms. Fiore even managed to surprise me. And trust me that is not an easy feature after so many years of reading. You will see some characters you might recognize if you read previous books but even in that is certain magic.

When in most cases it would spoiler something to you when you have never read a book by this author – all that will do here is make you want to read their story. Or in my case Re-Read their story as I was remembering them.
Yet something in the way the story was told was different from previous books. Very different – and I cannot totally point out what it was I can only say that the way the story went I should have been crying by what was brought out in the open … maybe it was because the prologue let the reader in earlier than usual? But I was feeling fond of the characters only and I felt more calculating, and reasoning with myself if the things that Anton did were justified? Reasonable? Not sure but instead of pulling me closer and connecting me to the character it kept me at a distance a little.

Probably I am the odd one out here but I cannot help but compare every book to my favorite one of all “A Glimpse of the Dream” and that might be the source of my feelings as that is simply THE book for me…

My 5 stars this time are more for the fact that this book made me think about what a person is able to endure – how much is to much – and which circumstances justify certain actions.

5 fantastic stars!! This is going straight to my favorites list, like of all time!!

This is book two of the “Lost Boys” series and can be read as a stand alone.

This is Anton and Pipers love story and boy is it a good one. I think Anton has taken over as my number one book boyfriend. Omg he is delicious, caring, protective, super sexy, a little dark and twisted and just perfect! I didn’t realize what a package he was in the first book. This book did him justice!! And Piper is the perfect yin to his yang! She is a beauty, smart, can’t cook for shit, caring, loving, positive and just a great woman!! They make the PERFECT couple.

This book had so much going for it. I was obsessed. Like read right through it! It’s hard to find a book that makes me this way. I have read soooo many books and this one did it. It was sexy, fun, sad, dark, twisted, loving, and so fucking great!! I literally am in love with all of these characters!!

This is a must read!!

I’m about ready to poke my eyes out this story is so slow and cheesy. Anton is a great character but Piper is silly and cheesy. READ THIEF by A. ZAVARELLI instead - it’s a way better book. Something was missing/off in this book.

description

Demon You Love is the second book in the Lost Boys series and I am sure you waited excitedly as me for this one! After two years, we finally have the story of Anton, our loveable sidekick from book one! Anton has grown into a quiet, calculated man who is ready to fall in love and his soulmate is the lightness to his darkness!!!

Anton has been fighting for his life since he was a baby but now he is almost at the end of his journey of revenge. He has done many bad things so he thinks he doesn’t deserve a happily ever after but there is a ballerina ready to give him a chance.

Piper is a stubborn girl who has put her life on hold for a family who doesn’t care about her. She is preparing to make her dream come true as a ballet dancer but she soon finds out that it’s better to share her happiness with a man who loves her.

Anton is a caring man who loves deeply and protects his loved ones with fierceness. Although, he has done some devil things, you justify him because of the pain and the hurt he has endured. He is smart, logical and I adore that he is not closed off. He gives a home to those who don’t have one and he has his heart open for those who deserve his love.

Piper is a fighter. She doesn’t give up and that’s something I admire. She is kind to those who don’t deserve her generosity, although sometimes you see her young age and her frustration.

Their relationship is sweet and hot! They both come from a lonely world without parents but along with their friends, they make a new, content family.

There is also suspense besides romance and I am curious to see if the series will continue with Cam’s story, one of Anton’s friends.

Can a devil fall in love with an angel? He definitely can and this book is the perfect example of that!

OMG Anton....Anton.....Anton....You have stolen my heart.

I loved this book so damn much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that LA Fiore is a boss at writing dark romances with dark, brooding alphas, and sweet but strong and so damn intelligent heroines. I think that with every book I read I fall in love with the alphas but the stories are never the same, and that's what I love. I think that having a damaged hero is a difficult balance for lots of authors but not this one. I just absolutely fall for them every time. I'm always a little sad to end these books, because I will miss these characters. Ok so this book had aa really great plot, and I did not see the plot twist that came towards the end coming, but when you have a couple like Anton and Piper. I loved Piper, I think there could not be a more perfect match for Anton. And OMG Anton is jus the best the absolute most beautiful kind, caring, sweet man. To know what he came from and the person he is not its amazing, I get why Piper was so in love, because he really is a special one. I am so happy we got to see his HEA, and that it was so happy. I can't wait for the next book hoping for Cam to get his HEA next.

Oh where to start with this. I am loving this series! I read the first book of the series and gave it 5 stars. This one would have been 5 stars except for one reason...I’ll get to that later. In the meantime can I just say I love Anton! I loved Anton when he was first introduced in the first book, Devil You Know. But learning more about him and where he came from broke my heart and made me love him even more. And Piper....I do love Anton and Piper together but even apart these are two strong characters that stand up well on their own! Now the reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars was because I felt like Piper accepted Anton’s past (and present) a little too easily. But beyond that, this book really sucked me in and I didn’t want to stop reading it! And honestly the twist at the end with who was behind it all really did surprise me! I can’t wait for more in this series! Is Cam next!? Can’t wait to find out!!

Demon You Love by L.A. Fiore is book 2 in the Lost Boys Series. This is Anton and Piper's story.
This is an emotional , gritty, raw and angsty read that will capture your heart and soul. Anton has been fighting for his life since the very day he was born. Now he's at a point in his life where he in control and thinks he is pursing what he wants or thought he did want. Instead it take one look at Piper that brings this bad boy to his knees. Piper is sweet, kind, beautiful and oh so innocent. Anton lives life on the edge, in danger while Piper lives life in the safe and protected...when these two meet, its instant connection and chemistry. There's this push/pull. Their journey towards their HEA is every romance reader's dream. This is one story that needs to be read for it's amazing!!!

My Rating: 4.8 stars ******

Anton is absolute fire!! He had me so enthralled with his quiet power, and darkened past that his fall for Piper was nothing less that exquisite! Unexpected and quickly moving, I didn't stand a chance against being swept away. For a character like Anton, to see his more vulnerable side was completely intoxicating. It was both exciting, and wildly romantic with characters that enthralled and moved me through all the emotions. Who knew a piece of pie could spark all that? I absolutely loved it, inhaled it as if I was starving for oxygen, and I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

The romance was sweet and captivating. I liked the characters, Anton and Piper, together. Many pairings of dark characters with innocent ones don't seem to work. However, this one did, mainly because Piper wasn't a delicate flower. She had a touch of darkness, too. I liked that a lot.

What gave me pause was the amount of details that were left out of the story. I had to re-read entire passages to see if I missed something. It was a tad hard to keep up with all the characters, too. It probably would have been okay had I read the whole series recently. Sadly, it's been a while.

Luckily, the ending was perfect and poignant.

Anton and Piper one amazing story. The darkness needs some light. Anton’s past and present is dark and revenge is on his mind constantly until Piper. Piper has had loss and ever since then she basically takes care of everything. But now Piper wants to follow her dreams. But what if the man with pale blue eyes becomes her dream too? Drama, intense, deep, beautiful and loving describe this book. Read straight through! Oh and the author even has surprises for us that made me squeal. 5/5 “What if?” Stars

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Anton Scalene was born and raised in a nightmare. He was fifteen when he killed for the first time. As a child his dreams were about climbing out of his past and bein on top of the pile of bodies and not one of them. He lives in the shadow, finds solace in the darkness. Until her. A chance meeting, a fleeting moment. Her innocence beguiles him. He wants her but to have her would destroy the very par of her he craves. And even knowing that, he can't stay away, until his past threatens to drag her into his nightmare. Letting her go is the hardest thing he has ever done, but a demon has no business falling in love with an angel.

Oh my gosh. When you sit down with this book, you better be prepared to be there for a while. I am so in love with Piper and Anton. This poor guy has a past that is a living nightmare but he has escaped it. Once he goes to a diner and eats the best pie of his life and meets a rambling waitress he is done for. It just takes him a while to realize it. He still has his mind on the girl he accidently saw dancing. But she is one and the same. He shouldn't want her. His life has to much danger in it but he just can't help him. Between his love of seeing Piper dance and how he is with her I found this book so romantic. Piper really sees Anton for the man that he is. I so went into this book basically blind and I am so glad that I did. I loved every second and L.A. Fiore has written a book that is dark and dangerous with equally great parts romance and some seriously romantic moments. Do not miss this book.

for the first 80% I would give full 5 stars and I loved it until then, the last 20% felt too constructed and a little over the top. so all in all 4.5 stars for me.

This author just blows my mind. One of the best, I’m simply going to say, if you ever read her, go in blind.

Highly recommend.

I really didn’t care for this one at all.

The first chapter contains a lot of heavy content *trigger warning for child abuse* and sets the stage for a gritty story. My heart ached for the H Anton and it seemed like he was going to be one tortured and broken character. But beyond the first chapter, the rest of the book almost felt like a Hallmark channel movie.

First off, I have to agree with some of the other reviews that the h Piper was way over the top cheesy. The very first time she meets Anton in the bakery she works at, she tells him she thinks he’s the sexiest man she’s ever seen and scurries off. It felt so juvenile and desperate to me - who does that? Anton pretty much ignores her comment and doesn’t really think about her much until the next time they bump into each other. The initial dynamic between the two characters made her seem so pathetic and desperate and made him seem disinterested and way out of her league.

Then there was the dreaded insta- love. Piper thinks she’s falling for Anton after literally two encounters with him. And nearly halfway through the book nothing really happened besides them bumping into each other a couple of times and making small talk about the ballet or bakery, but Anton felt a “primal possessiveness”? Now, I love a possessive H, but I need a believable reason for it. The chemistry between these two felt forced. The author made him so out of her league in looks and wealth and gave him such a tragic backstory that Piper just seemed too random and ‘blah’ to be paired with him. What exactly was it about her that he liked so much when he had endless women at his fingertips? They had no history together, no real chemistry, nothing that really made sense as to why he would want her. We are expected to believe it’s because she offered him pie?

It was all very ‘tra-la-la’... Piper walking on the streets with Anton while window shopping and pointing out all of the things she would like to have and buy if she wasn’t so poor. Then him offering her a job at his restaurant with a high salary and full benefits, moving her and her teenage sister AND her roommate into his penthouse. Giving them roommate (who is so jealous of Piper and in awe of Anton) a high paying job and becoming a father figure to Piper’s sister, building her her very own dance studio. All the while they have tons of sex where he makes her c** countless times because he’s perfect in bed. The dialogue is very corny between the characters as well, and so were Piper’s thoughts. See what I mean by Hallmark?

I really feel like the child abuse was glossed over in this book. Given that Anton was abandoned as an infant, raped for 3 years, and then lived on the streets for a while, it felt like too much of a stretch to go from that to a relatively well-adjusted millionaire businessman. It’s like the author just used abuse to make his character more interesting without actually diving into it and making it a bigger part of their romance story. But the story really wasn’t about him healing from such a traumatic past, or even finding the love he always wanted. He didn’t even really come across as being broken. The story was about Piper being swept away by a gorgeous millionaire who took care of her and fixed all her problems. He deserved a more interesting heroine. And if the author was going to choose to make his childhood such a horrific one, then his backstory should have played a bigger role in their romance beyond him taking down someone from his past who who messing with him and then moving on.

I really like the premise of this author’s books because she is known for having “broken heroes”. However, for me they always feel too light and fluffy.

Wasn't as badass as I would have wanted. I DNF'd the first book in the series, thinking Anton overshadowed the main character on that book and that I'd read Anton's book. Well, Anton's book was off to a good start, seemed very promising, but then... I wish he had more bite. DNF'd at 90% (yes, I stayed with it thaaaat long). 3 stars ***

'A demon has no business falling in love with an angel'

Oh my... L.A. Fiore has created such a beautiful love story that I feel like crying over its wonderfulness. Anton caught my attention already in the first part of the Lost Boys series and I couldn’t wait for his story. I knew he was a complicated character whose past hides many secrets but what I found out in Demon You Love exceeded all my expectations! And I'm delighted. LA. creates perfect heroes with a dark past who for the right woman become ideal partners. And Anton... I love this guy with all my heart.

From the moment of birth Anton Scalene lived in the dark. Found in an abandoned alley, he was dragged into a complete hell, where he remained until the age of 15. When he finally got free, he fought for his safety and the place in the world until he became a successful businessman. However, the darkness never left him for long. Until he met Piper.

Piper didn’t have an easy life either. The whole world collapsed on her shoulders after her father died and the girl had to give up her dreams to help her late father’s wife and her half-sister. In the constant feeling of being unloved, only ballet brings her relief. Until she meets the mysterious Anton, who comes like a prince on a white horse and helps her to stand on her feet.

She lights up his dark world. He gives her a sense of security and feeling of being loved. Despite the differences that divide them, Anton and Piper are perfect for each other. The sexual tension between the two is indescribable and the feelings that grow between them can melt even the heart of steel. For the story not being too sweet, the author decided to put in the plot a twist that threatened the happiness of the main couple after which the doubts crept in. But fortunately these were not obstacles that couldn’t be overcome.

Demon You Love was an amazing read that awoke in me many different emotions. The story described in this book was completely heartwarming, although the plot can be classified as one of those on the darker side. The main characters are perfectly created - Piper is the perfect material for the best friend and Anton... I want him for myself. I love this man. Demon You Love is another book in L.A. Fiore’s achievements, what I classify as MUST READ.

Good Lord, can I just say… there’s something so unique and beautiful about the way LA Fiore writes her stories. The way Fiore’s words flow seem to go directly into my heart and stay there. It could be the men LA Fiore creates. Anton is so broken. He is a man that was born into a very rough life. Yet, he’s an amazing man… he’s so incredibly caring and beautiful (inside and out). I’m so impressed with the way he turned out. A man with such strong morals… so protective of those he loves.

Piper is everything Anton has ever wanted. He’s always wanted someone to care for him as he cares for them. It’s never happened even though he has his self-made family and friends he can call on. He still isn’t satisfied, he’s still alone. Until Piper. I loved the way Anton thought of Piper… how he saw her. Piper saw Anton for the man he really was, not the man he tried to be. She saw his heart. There was never any fear… just trust. Fiore really captures that and those feelings are probably my favorite thing about this story. It feels so deeps, so strong and it’s all Fiore’s words.

Every time I read a Fiore story I think, this is her best work yet, and every time it is! Her writing seriously gets better every single time. I just love the deepness of the relationship and how the situations are complex. The Demon You Love covers so much but some of my favorite things… the suspense and friendship with so much chemistry and a deep love.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
