Liam McGuire. Annoyingly laid back. Hopelessly unambitious. Cocky, irreverent, impossible. My polar opposite.
My husband.
All my life, I’ve been the golden girl. Ivy League, MBA, the youngest executive at my company. The world lay at my feet.
Then the company I put my heart and soul into collapsed in scandal. My so-called friends have deserted me. I’m left with mounting debts and a shattered reputation, in danger of losing everything.
When a handsome stranger proposes a helping hand, I jump at the chance. I know it’s crazy, but all I have to do is stay married to him until he gets his green card, and he’ll support me until I’m back on my feet.
It’s the perfect marriage of convenience … except for the inconvenient way I’m starting to fall for him.
Brianna Winter. Aggravatingly organized. Perpetually prim. Stuck-up. Straitlaced. Sex on a stick with a candy coating of complete indifference.
My wife.
I thought it would be easy. One year of marriage, and I’d be able to stay in sunny California for the rest of my life.
But one kiss changed everything.
Now, living at close quarters with the beautiful Miss B—with that toned body, that perfect skin, and that brilliant mind—I’m slowly going insane.
The memory of that kiss plays out over and over again in my mind in a kind of carnal loop of lust, but she shows no sign that she feels even the slightest bit of heat between us.
I may not survive my marriage long enough to get divorced.
MAN OF MATRIMONY is a steamy, standalone romance with heat, humor, and a sexy Irish hero! Happy reading!
World traveler, vegetarian, salsa dancer, film fanatic, lover of happy endings. In an alternate steampunk universe, Thea travels by dirigible and gets in sword fights with dashing villains.
In this one, she lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband/salsa partner, three antic children, and an agenda-driven cat. She writes at the intersection of sweet and steamy, and hopes her stories will melt your heart and brighten your day.

This was a good read. Brianna and Liam both need some help. This is how they end up married. They spend the book getting to know each other. Of course by the end they are in love and get their HEA.
Man of Matrimony is my first book by author Thea Dawson. It was at times sweet and funny, crazy and outrageous at others. A fake marriage turned love affair, this was a fun, fast read with a strong mind, feisty heroine, Bree is nobody’s fool, except for one thing. Her boss. He’s not the man she thought he was and now she needs help getting her foot back in the door of the business world after being tarred by her boss’s brush (with the law). Liam needs help too, of the green card variety. Together they make an unlikely pair, but as time progress they find fake becoming real as their hearts start to get involved. Will they end they charade as man and wife or lovers on opposite ends of the Atlantic. Pick up your copy today and find out.
This is a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Liam and Brianna are as opposite as can be, but when they are both in a predicament, which is Liam needs a green card to stay in the United States, and Brianna have just lost her high powered job, a marriage of convenience is the answer. Will these two be able to ignore the undeniable chemistry? No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is humorous, steamy, sexy and romantic. I was totally enthralled throughout and cannot wait to read more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
Man Of Matrimony was a good story it is a instant hit for me from the fist page the very last every word that was written just had me hooked and wanting more stories by Thea Dawson and this being the first one that I have had the pleasure of reading . The characters growth was perfect we get to see how the characters learn from one another and to share themselves with each other . I hope this isn't the last we see of the couple would love to see how they are doing .
This book is at turns sweet, funny, steamy and frustrating. MAN OF MATRIMONY is a fake marriage romance between handsome, charming and very Irish Liam and smart, uptight Brianna. Liam needs a green card in order to stay in the country, and Brianna needs someone to help her financially until she can find a job in the business world. Liam has a good job lined up, but the job won’t be his unless he can prove he is on his way to getting a green card. Brianna has lost her standing in the business world since her boss has been indicted for fraud and embezzlement. Her chances of getting a job in her field are getting slimmer and slimmer....it is a guilt by association situation. When things are looking desperate for her, Brianna accepts Liam’s proposition instead of going to her wealthy father for help. She will have financial support, and he will have her help to get a green card. After their quickie wedding, their roommate situation with no benefits begins to wear them both down. The immigration authorities are suspicious and circling when they finally succumb to their mutual attraction. They become more determined than ever to make their marriage at least seem real to the authorities, completely missing the realities of what’s happening. They are falling in love for real. Will this marriage lead to Liam staying in the country and claiming his bride for real and for always? Will he be forced to return to Ireland and Brianna be arrested for fraud?
I loved Brianna and Liam together. Her cold, standoffish ways did not deter Liam. He saw through them and realized that they were her means of protecting her heart. His charm and easy-going ways set her nerves on edge at first, but they also helped her let down her guard. Neither expected love to enter into their arrangement, but were happy that it did. I highly recommend this book. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I received a free complimentary book and voluntarily reviewed
This book is the third book in Thea Dawson’s “The Gentleman, Inc.” series. Gentleman, Inc. is a business that allows single women to hire a date to escort them to important events. In this book, Brianna Winter and Liam McGuire meet when Brianna hires him to escort her to an elegant black-tie charity auction.
Unfortunately, the day of the auction turns out to be a tragic day for Brianna. When she arrives at work as usual, she discovers that her boss is being investigated for embezzlement, fraud and tax evasion. The company is shut down, and Brianna is out of work.
Without a job and deeply in debt, Brianna is depressed, mildly inebriated and in no condition to go to a party. Then, Liam arrives. He convinces her to go to the auction. This is when she discovers that she is now shunned by the business world. Everyone believes she is part of the scam.
Liam, who is from Ireland, can no longer stay and work in the United States until he gets his green card. Since Brianna is in debt, Liam proposes that they marry. This will allow him stay in America and get a job. This will help both of them – he will get his green card, and Brianna will be able to pay her bills while looking for another job.
Liam is a prime example of a beta man. He is easy-going, very laid back and doesn’t seem to get upset about much. Brianna, on the other hand, is an alpha woman. She is an overachiever and a workaholic who stresses out about everything. In spite of that, Brianna and Liam’s personalities perfectly complement each other.
This is a unique twist on the marriage of convenience story. I love the contrast between these two dissimilar characters as they react to the same situations. And, I am impressed by Liam’s ability to spontaneously recite a famous poem that perfectly fits each moment. But most of all, I love the way they are slowly able to learn from each other to become better people.
ARC was given to me by Author. My review is given completely voluntarily.
Man of Matrimony by Thea Dawson is book 3 in her Gentlemen, Inc. Series .
I gave this book 5 strong 🌟. This was my first book that I read by this author, and I freaking loved it!!! OMG....this was something else, Brianna and Liam were so funny together. She was a smart woman, ambitious, beautiful, went to an ivy league school, she's a COO of a company, but loosing her job devastated her, effected her self-esteem, she was left in limbo. Liam is a really nice, poetry talking, sexy looking Irish red head man who is working in America trying to make a better life for himself. He is working as a bartender, and in a company that offers "male companionship" to supplement his salary. He is on a working visa, but his endgame is to finally get the green card approved so he can stay permanently. Brianna had hired him for the night to accompanying her to a black tie auction party. This is how their long and complicated friendship-negotiations starts. This book is full of life, some steam, laughter, family, misfortunes, bantering in-between soft Liam and stiff Bree is great. Her family loves her so of course there's meddling 🤨, immigration is a serious subject and I'm happy to see a story about it ( my parents are also immigrants with green cards) so I understand his plight very well. This book had it's charged emotional moments, in the end these two were perfect for each other, they fell in love with a fantastic HEA ending❤️!!!
I keep thinking Thea Dawson can't top the couples in her previous books, but with each new book she proves me wrong!
I was excited to finally get to know Brianna better. Just as with Annabelle and Carina there is more to her than most people see. She is the serious one, the business-minded one, and the one some people perceive as cold. They don't see her big heart, her goal of working for a company that will make a difference in the world, and that she has been hurt before.
Liam is looking for someone to marry to get his green card. He is a nice guy from Ireland who wants to stay in the US to work. Archer and Drew were sweet and I really liked them, but I think Liam is my favorite. He's got a great sense of humor, is thoughtful, and I love that he looked past Brianna's initial stiff demeanor to see the real her.
The plot moves at the perfect pace. Slow enough to get to know Brianna and Liam, but it doesn't drag as they plan their wedding and go through the green card process for Liam either.
The story is told in dual narration and first person perspective which both work well here. It gives the reader a chance to get to know them individually and see their relationship evolve.
I am looking forward to reading more of this series!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
The way this reader would describe the main male character is "a right rascal". He seems to be a really happy-go-lucky fellow but this does not correlate into a shallow character. He has ambitions and goals, but he is also a great people person, tight with his "mates", strong feelings for family, a warm heart, a man of his word. The main female character is one strong, determined, loyal woman of her word. With this wee bit of commonality, this pair forge a trail along a winding road to coupledom.
Great camaraderie with friends experienced by the main male character and strong, loving, familial bonds between the main female character and her sisters and parents. The one personality trait of the main female character, not appreciating others telling her what she should or should not be doing, no matter who they are, is what proves to be a pivotal point in tightening the emotional bonds of their relationship.
There are a number of characters introduced in this story and all are fleshed out well. Good story with many subplots running through the tale. It is interesting to see some scenes being set up in this novel for the next story in this series. This reader will be checking out what is coming out next in this series.
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
Brianna Winter has always been a golden girl. She graduated an Ivy League College, MBA, left her father's company to become the youngest executive on her own, and was living the high life. That is until her company went down in scandal making sure that she couldn't get another job anywhere else, and was too proud to ask her parents for help. Liam McGuire needs his green card to stay in the US so he can get his dream job, so after meetings Brianna, he proposes a fake marriage to help both of them out. She agrees and they get married, and at first, it's hard as they're total opposites, but as they get to know each other, something happens, and they find that they have an attraction to each other. And the chemistry won't be denied, so they light the sheets on fire, and then they catch feelings. But there's that whole breaking that law that starts to wear on Liam, so will he continue on the "fake" marriage that doesn't feel so fake anymore? Yeah, this was a sweet story that I really enjoyed, especially Liam. Brianna was a little harder to imprint on though because she just came off more standoffish. But the cast of secondaries were definitely very colorful who added some humorous interactions. So all in all, Man of Matrimony was a sweet story that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Brianna Winter is a young, overachieving, high power COO of an up and coming tech company living for her job and had no social life. With no wishes to date anyone she hires an escort to accompany her to a charity auction where contacts and money of the attendees is the driving force for her attendance, sadly, earlier in the day she found out her boss was a crook of said company was arrested for fraud, embezzlement and tax evasion.
Liam McGuire, her escort arrived to take her on the “date” to find her drinking alone. Liam is a six foot plus Prince Harry doppelgänger with a green card problem and after encouraging her to attend the event and hold her head high he offers her a marriage of convenience. She needs to pay her mortgage he wants a green card so they embark on a fake marriage. Their courtship begins with a green card marriage and an expiration date. Their hearts have other plans. Soon enough Liam falls for Bree and Bree fights falling god Liam as she’s been hurt in the past but he thawed her ice Queen routine. This is where I was a little disappointed, we didn’t see her gain her reputation the way I’d have liked, I wanted to see his start up make a fortune with Brees help that was disappointing to me as the reader.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. This is the third book in a series and I have not read the two previous books, but this book works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. In fact I liked it so much that I will be looking at reading the previous two novels. I loved, loved, loved this story!
Liam is a smart, charming, easygoing Irishman, and a bit of a rogue with a heart of gold, who needs a green card to stay in the country. Brianna is the slightly uptight, very intelligent, but somewhat down-on-her-luck business woman he convinces to join him in a fake marriage in pursuit of said green card. What could possibly go wrong?
Their resulting journey is full of highs and lows - including touching drama, hilarious humour and wickedly steamy romance. The chemistry between Liam and Brianna sizzles. The supporting characters are all engaging and unique. Bright and witty writing, along with a well thought out and compelling plot, keeps the story real and makes it almost impossible to put down. This is a wonderfully and wildly entertaining romance!
Man of Matrimony by Thea Dawson is the third book in the Gentlemen Inc., series. However, it can be read as a standalone and be completely enjoyable! This is the first book I have read by Thea but it won't be my last! Thea crafted a book that is lively, witty, emotion filled and has two fabulous main characters! There is Liam, a bartender/escort/app inventor/rugby playing hunky Irishman, who wants to stay in sunny California but his green card is expiring and will need to return to Ireland. Then there is Brianna, a high level executive/designer clothing wearer/condo owner with a million dollar view gorgeous blond, who just lost her job due to her boss cooking the books and finds herself unemployable with diminishing savings. After Liam escorted Brianna to a benefit auction, he comes up with a plan to help them both out of their dilemmas. The only thing is will Brianna agree to his proposal? Well, you'll just need to read Man of Matrimony to find out! It is so good!
I was provided a complementary arc in return for an honest review.
Brianna is at a low point in her life when the CEO of her company is charged with fraud and she as COO could be considered a potential accomplice or at least found at fault for not discovering it. Now she’s out of work with black marks on her professional reputation, so no one will hire her, and over extended on a condo mortgage and other bills she can no longer afford. Liam can’t find an employer who will sponsor him so he can stay in the United States before his visa runs out. He comes up with the scheme to marry Brianna and pay for her bills while he works on getting a green card. The problem is if they get caught Brianna could suffer heavy fines and go to jail. And when her father discovers what she’s done, he’s not going to let that happen. They never expected their marriage of convenience to turn into love. There was plenty of humor and sexy romance in this opposites attract story. Brianna is organized and a planner who prefers Pilates while Liam is much more laid back and loves rugby. I thought it was sexy that he loves poetry.
Brianna has it all a job that people will envy, a condo with an amazing view, all the right connections. None of these will help her when the company, she has put her heart and soul into, is sinking under scandal. Liam is her date for a charity event the day the scandal breaks. He convinces her that holding her head high and attending will help prove her innocence. Can he use his charm to convince her a marriage of convenience is the answer to both their troubles?
This was my first Thea Dawson book and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. I fell for Liam almost immediately. He is charming and sexy and truly seems to want their arrangement to benefit Brianna too. Brianna wants her parents to be proud of her and her determination to prove she can take care of herself is admirable. She doesn’t just want to be the daughter of a wealthy man. Thea did an amazing job of creating characters that were relatable. This is a quick, easy read. Grab a copy and start reading!

Oh goodness, I don’t know where to start! Thea Dawson is a new to me author and she did not disappoint
Brianna Winter is a young, high power COO of an up and coming tech company and she lives for her job. With no time to date, she hires an escort to accompany her to a charity auction where contacts and money are the driving factor for her attendance. Unfortunately, earlier in the day, the whizz kid CEO and brains behind her company was arrested for fraud, embezzlement and tax evasion. Catching her at one of the worst times of her life, her escort appears promptly at her door and coaxes her out.
Liam McGuire is six feet plus of Prince Harry doppelgänger and her escort. He’s having green card trouble, can’t get a job in the U.S. in his computer industry field and is facing deportation. Brianna has no income, faces the real possibility of losing her recently acquired million dollar condo, and Liam is on the fast track out of the country. Their courtship begins with a green card marriage and an expiration date. Their hearts have other plans.
I received an ARC of this novel for an honest review and loved the book so much I’ve read it twice.
This story of Brianna, the COO of a tech company and the frosty sister of the Winter girls, meets her match with Liam, the utterly charming Irishman who needs a green card to stay in the country. Ms. Dawson always knows how to tell a romantic, sassy and sexy story, but in this third book of the Gentlemen's Inc. series, she adds Irish wit and poetry to her arsenal. The first chapter starts off with a bang and the book takes the reader on a journey filled with disappointment, fun and unexpected feelings for each of the protagonists. However, through Thea's wonderful writing and Liam's playful side, they were able to "thaw" Miss Winter taking her from "Executive Brianna to Playful Bree." By the way, only an Irishman could get away with calling John Donne, the great English poet, Johnny D! This book was a joy for me to read and I eagerly await the next book in the series. Brava, Thea! I loved it!!!
I started out not really liking Bree. Even after her job situation occurred, I didn't feel much about it. Ice Princess was the perfect term for her.
With Liam's help, Bree started to slowly thaw out, and she grew more likeable. That's when I started to cheer for their success.
I didn't like Bree's father at all. Not at the beginning of the book, and not at the end. Forget the fatherly concern, he just came across as a manipulative, rather unpleasant man.
It took a while, but the book became more lighthearted and sweet. The dialogue was sarcastic, snarky, fun, and sometimes humorous. The book turned out much better than I thought it would. The beginning was rough going for me. I'm glad Liam and Bree got their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Brianna is focused entirely on work. She is the COO of a successful Technologies company who suddenly loses her job due to embezzlement by the companies CEO. Brianna finds herself is substantial financial difficulty and is unable to maintain her lifestyle because she cannot find another job due to the scandal which followed the closing of the technology company.
Liam is from Ireland and needs to get a green card in order to get a good job and stay in America. One way to do this is to get married. He proposes marriage as a business deal to Brianna and she reluctantly accepts.
Will a marriage of convenience turn into love? This is a fantastic story which has many twists ant turns and will keep your interest until the very end.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
So the third Winter sister, Brianna, gets her story.... Brianna really lives up to her name. She is cold and frosty and not easy to like!!(on the outside of course!!) Liam is a loveable Irish rogue who needs a wife to secure his green card and thereon his future in the US. When Brianna’s perfectly ordered life suddenly implodes Liam steps in with a business proposition for her that she would be stupid to refuse.... and so begins their new life together.... BUT... Is Liam’s Irish charm and sunny personality enough to melt the Ice Queens heart or will he be returning to Ireland with the cold shoulder?!? I received an arc of this from the author and I am choosing to leave my review. I love the men of Gentlemen Inc and I am delighted to see we have another Gent coming😊 soon!!
A steamy, humorous story with a sexy Irishman, Liam and a smart, beautiful, take no nonsense woman, Brianna. She was out of a job because her boss was caught embezzling money, quite a scandal. She was innocent but others in the industry were no longer associating with her since they deemed her guilty by association. Liam was also looking for a position in the tech field. She was in need of money and he was in need of a green card. A marriage of convenience was the solution to their problems. A real marriage ceremony but without the regular privileges. Difficult path to a green card and financial success. I hope you read Man of Matrimony, it is quite entertaining.
A great read I loved the characters Liam and Brianna, I love an Irish lead character and his banter is perfect the fact that he can get past the ice queen as he so adequately calls her, Brianna's career driven so when things go wrong and Liam offers her a proposition she cant refuse even if it is illegal.
I loved the storyline and the fact that even through all the bad times Liam always manages to put a smile on Brianna's face I guess you can say he has the Irish charm and she's finding it hard to resist the Irish guy.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book it's a nice easy read and the author Thea Dawson is new to me but I'll definitely read more of her books.
So, I recently discovered this author and I was more than excited to read this book and let me tell you all it did not disappoint. It is a slow burn so for those who are not into slow burns just beware. However, I would recommend taking a chance on this book. This book is about Brianna and Liam two very different people that end up getting married so that Liam can get a green card. This marriage is in name only and not real until feelings get involved. I don't want to spoil anything but I strongly recommend taking a chance and reading it. It Great addition to this series and I can't wait for the next book from this author.
I absolutely loved this book, it had a great mix of humour, heartbreak, determination and hope for happiness. Liam and Brianna are complete opposites which makes their interactions so much more awkward and their banter/sparring will have you giggling. I really liked how both of them grew and started to work out who they really were in life as they got to know each other and worked though their own work issues. I am sure you will be like me when you get to the end of the book and want to throw a hissy fit as you want more, more I tell you!!!!
It was nice to catch up with my favourite family of the three Winter totally different character of girls that found love in the most unlikely place.
Bree has been a big character in the first two books of the series and it was finally getting to read about her. Liam my darling charming Irish man is the perfect antidote to the walls Bree has built and he has the perfect solution to their dilemma.
Could not put it down and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The sneak peek of Alex’s story certainly piqued my interest and I cant wait for summer to read all about it.
Liam is the typical fun loving Irish man looking to migrate to California and Brianna is the typical straight laced high flying executive. Unfortunately, circumstances cause them to get married but they continue to fight their attraction for each other. There is drama, fun, interfering family, sexy scenes and a happy ending that throws them both. I guarantee you will enjoy reading this book and wouldn’t want to put it down when you start.
I received on ARC of this book from Bookfunnel and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brianna loses everything in one fell swoop, her world is turned upside down. Buttondowned, professional and a little rigid she has no Idea what to make of Liam and his proposition. Irish, charming, handsome, laidback and totally opposite of Brianna, Liam thinks she is his ticket to staying in the US. But one little kiss starts starts a chain reaction, where will it end? Sexy, great chemistry, witty and engaging banter and great characters made this a pleasure to read!
