Ethan Slate

As President of the Slate Mountain Wolf Pack Motorcycle Club, being Alpha to a pack of wolves was something I was born to do. Same with riding a motorcycle and standing vigilant against all threats to our little mountain town—even when those threats come from within. Most of the humans here don’t know what we are. They only see tough men on bikes with leather vests, marking us as outlaws. The facade keeps our secret and the town of Slate Mountain safe. When my mate shows up with the summer breeze, all seems right with the world, until trouble stirs and I have to use all my resources as a man and wolf to protect him and the town we both love.

Brice Wallace

As the mayor’s son, coming home after graduating from college is an eye opening experience. I’d forgotten how small town politics could swallow people whole and point men down paths of greed. Now that my eyes have been opened, there’s no going back to the blissful ignorance of before. When I meet Ethan, I know he’s the one for me. Being with Ethan, leads me further away from my father’s plans and deeper into the secrets of Slate Mountain even as it puts me directly into the path of the newest threat to our sleepy little town.

Welcome to Slate Mountain where magic and motorcycles roam the streets, love flows as pure as mountain spring water, and the wolves are always guarding the door.

Under A Full Moon is a 32,000 word novella featuring an M/M romance and an HEA. It is the first book in a four part series set in the same world and while each book focuses on a different couple the overall story arc continues on in the next installment. It is recommended the books be read in order.

This was a sweet mate story but it was just okay writing wise. I liked it well enough but something was missing for me. At times it was almost like the characters had split personalities. I don't know if this was due to the fact it was two authors writing the same character or what. I would definitely read the next one though.

Are you joking? They got married.. THAT'S IT? where's the mating bite? Not even a scratch? That's my favorite part!

it was kinda cute. Nothing too deep n mushy.
I want to know what's going on with the homopobic pastor... Why did he have a magic bear as a bodyguard 🤔
I'll probably read on.

Do you also sometimes have this impulse to read a certain genre again just to see if the old magic still happens when reading something like this for the first time or the third or fifth? Because the current times are as they are I wanted to experience it again even if it would be heavily tinged in nostalgia. It seemed to me Under a Full Moon would be able to deliver that feeling and yes, it follows the well known structure of a fated mates story in a small town with shifters. Not much to complain in that regard except maybe the missing mating bite and of course I didn't expect that it's adding anything new to that topic. Nevertheless the magic didn't happen, maybe I grew out of such simple stories, maybe I missed a bit of darkness or at least more danger and maybe I need to see a more unique writing style to appreciate one dimensional characters and a story that ambles along. Whatever it is, I suppose I won't read the next book of the series.

So...... I had high hopes for this. But then while it was well written and well edited, it couldn’t escape the clutches of predictability and the same-old-trope syndrome. You could see what was coming from a mile away and you‘d know what’s going to happen next. Nothing new or exciting or different, sad to say 😟

Don’t think I will be continuing with this series 😔

This was a random pick because it fit multiple challenges, but I was pleasantly surprised. Biker stories aren't usually my favorite, but I liked these guys. They're a group of biker werewolves, but they're not all hard edges. Really they're just a pack looking to protect their town from any threats. Ethan is protective of all the people in his territory, human and werewolf alike. Brice has come home after college and is ready to do everything he can to help the people of his hometown. His father may be the mayor, but Brice isn't convinced he always has the best interest of the town at heart. More and more teens seems to be homeless on the street, and there's something strange going on.

I liked Brice and Ethan together. They were sweet and this is a very low angst story. I liked their connection, sure it's instalove, but that works for me with a mate bond. And well, Brice's acceptance of the wolves was maybe a little too quick and easy, but this is a novella so I'll buy him not having any issues when he finds out. Despite it being quick I did feel like the connection between Ethan and Brice was genuine. There's clearly some bad elements in town and I'm looking forward to seeing how they and the rest of the pack figure things out in the next few books.

I love the whole mate concept. One person fated to be yours. Probably why I love reading books with shifter themes, magic and fated mates. Pack and found family. This book was a good read. I liked the characters and the concept of a pack of wolves protecting a small town close to their heart. And have done it through generations.
I don't mind fast paste, shorter books, but with this one I wished they had jump a little more into the underlying issues of the town. Which makes me hope that I won't be left with a feeling that the conclusion might be a little rushed.
I am aware that there are 4 books in the series and that the mystery of the problems will be dealt with more in the continuation. I will gladly read the whole series and probably find it entertaining.
This review is only based on the feel of the first book and my preconceived feelings might change after I've fiinshed the whole series.

Small town and wolf shifters

When Brice comes back to his small mountain town after college, he has no idea of the true secrets his hometown holds. Finding out that he's the mate of the Alpha to the local wolf pack and motorcycle riding bad boy, Ethan, is just the beginning. Someone wants the wolf pack gone and they're using local kids as their bait. It's going to take the whole pack of wolves and their human allies to uncover the evil in their midst. This novella sets up the setting and the primary characters and ends with a HFN, that will segue into the next book. This is an easy, light angst, low steam read with a feel-good vibe and I really enjoyed it. I'm heading into the next book and can't wait for more of the mystery to unfold.

This was great kick off to a new shifter series with a little bit twist mix in. It does keep you on the edge with the mystery that is surrounding the town and all cloak mission. With Ethan being the Slate Mountain Guardian and Alpha we get to see a different side when he finally realize who is mate is.
Cant wait to see what happen in the next book with the mystery ghost and who will finally see the light. highly recommend

Writing on this one started off pretty good. At least it wasn't painful to be like some shifter stories are. It was going along nicely and then took a sudden sharp right. One of the MCS made a big leap of logic which conveniently allowed him to discover the existence of the werewolves. Required a suspension of belief on the part of the reader. When there was uneven but still over all mostly a good read. Will check out the next one!

This book was an interesting and enjoyable read, with likeable characters and underlying mystery.

Ethan is the President and Alpha of the Slate Mountain Wolf Pack Motorcycle Club. The Pack is perceived as outlaw by most of the people in the small town but that helps keep their secret, of being werewolves, hidden. Everything is well until Ethan find in Brice his fated mate and troubles start to happen, and he is forced to do everything he can to keep his mate safe.

Brice is the Mayor’s son, back from college and forced to work for his Dad. He is not willing to close his eye and turn the other side if things are not how they should be. Brice meets Ethan at the coffee shop, and he’s pulled towards him. They start seeing each other but this brings trouble on their ways.

The setting of the story and worldbuilding is good and believable and there is an underlying mystery on who is trying to take down the Pack and why.
The relationship between the two characters happens very quickly and most of it is told and not showed, leaving the characters without much depth and the reader wanted to know more to feel connected with them.

One thing puzzled me, Brice doesn’t make any fuss about Ethan being a werewolf, doesn’t show any fear while facing fifteen wolves. He just accepts this new reality in few seconds, and he is even able to recognise Ethan among other fifteen wolfs.

Best part of the book, in my opinion, is when Ethan is trying to save Ethan and, in those pages, I could feel the emotions pouring from him. Fear, caring and love all shining through. This is the connection to the reader I was hoping to see throughout the book, instead I feel like is missing.

The supporting characters are well built, and it is good to see the respect and love between Ethan and his friends. The way they act and how they close rank around Ethan and the town, leave the reader wanting to know more about them.

Overall an easy and enjoyable book to read.

3.5 stars, rounded up because I loved Ethan.

This is a true opposites attract story. Ethan is the president of the Slate Mountain Wolf Pack Motorcycle Club. Brice is the son of the power hungry mayor who wants nothing more than to run Ethan and his club out of town. When Ethan tells Brice he's his mate, it freaks him out a little, but it doesn't take long before he's going with the flow. That part of the story was a little rushed but it seemed to work.

Only a select few in the town know that the MC are wolf shifters, even if 'wolf pack' is in their name.

I enjoyed this but I did have a few issues with it, hence the 3.5 star rating. Maybe it's just me, but I am seriously tired of reading the same old, same old story with at least one religious nut and their homophobic agenda. I know they're everywhere in the real world but reading about them gets tiring after awhile.

The story was nice but predictable in a lot of places. The main character in book 2 is a man I despised in this one, but I'll continue with the series as time allows. I'm interested in the world enough to keep going.

UNDER A FULL MOON was a quick and easy read and while I found it enjoyable in the moment, it was a bit forgettable. I did like both Brice and Ethan's characters, they fall in love quickly but they're really sweet together. Ethan in particular comes across as large and intimidating but he's actually a really big marshmallow when it comes to his mate. There's very minimal angst between our couple; even when Brice finds out that Ethan is a werewolf, he's remarkably calm about it. I personally would have liked a bit more tension in Brice and Ethan's relationship because everything just happened really easily for them.

I liked the town of Slate Mountain and the side characters found in Ethan's pack, so I do plan to read more of the series. I'm also curious to read more about the Youth Center and how Ethan plans to bring peace back to his beloved town. While Ethan and Brice's story ends in a HEA, the story overall has a lot of things left unfinished and we still don't really know what's going on in the town.

A very enjoyable book for sure. I really enoy the pack dynamic, and think the cover is really cool. I hope the couple in the next book is Jeremy and Ev. My interest is piqued, and I'll (impatiently) wait for the next one!

I really liked this book! The best part was, hands-down, the relationship between Ethan and Brice. They were adorable. I loved seeing them on the page together, because most of the time throughout the story, they’re helping each other to protect the town (and generally become better people overall), which was really nice to read.

Though Ethan is the alpha of the werewolf pack in town, he’s not jealous, controlling, or otherwise toxic (AKA, he's not an alphahole). Some people are into hyper-aggressive, domineering love interests and there's nothing wrong with that–but it’s just not my jam. Brice is the human in the werewolf-human romance, but he's definitely not helpless. He spends most of the story actively trying to help street-involved teenagers, and he and Ethan work together as a team to solve the issues plaguing the town. It wasn't what I expected to happen, but it was a pleasant surprise when it did.

I will note that this book uses a "fated mates" trope, so Brice and Ethan both got on board with the fact that they were going to be together without too much fuss. As a result, their relationship didn't have gobs of internal turmoil or conflict. Personally, I thought it was nice to read and worked well in a novella-length story, but if you need more friction/fireworks/angst in your romance arc, you might feel a little let-down.

This is a short, fun, and decently steamy read. If you’re into werewolves, MM romance, healthy relationship dynamics between men, paranormal romances set in small towns, and good-natured characters who only want what’s best for each other and for the town they live in, definitely give this one a read.

Wolves, Wheels & What’s Missing

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level: 🔥🔥
Tear Drops: ❌

📚EBOOK📚

This wasn’t my first by these authors, and I picked it up because it ticked a few boxes for a reading challenge. It’s a short, easy novella that flows well—nothing extraordinary, but it goes down smooth.

We’re in Slate Mountain, where a wolf-pack MC keeps the town safe behind a rough-and-tumble facade. Ethan Slate—the pack’s Alpha and MC president—meets his mate, Brice, the mayor’s son who’s just back from college and seeing how messy small-town politics can get. The mate pull is instant, the vibe is “magic & motorcycles,” and there’s a brewing threat that nudges them toward action.

As a mate story, it’s sweet and mostly light. I liked it well enough, but something was missing for me—maybe deeper character layers or more time in the pack dynamics. Ethan and Brice are cute together, the chemistry is there, but it never hits that gut-level swoon; it’s more “aww” than “omg.” Heat lands around a 2—present, not overdone. Stakes stay fairly mild, which keeps the read breezy but also trims the emotional punch.

What did work: clean pacing, clear setup for a series arc, and just enough town intrigue to make me want answers. Speaking of—what is going on with the homophobic pastor? That thread is dangled and I definitely want the follow-through in book two.

Bottom line: Short and fine. If you want a quick M/M fated-mates hit with wolves, bikes, and a hint of small-town trouble, this scratches the itch. I’ll continue mainly to see where the pastor plot and the broader pack politics go, but as a standalone entry, it’s a pleasant, just-okay opener.

Guardians of all

An interesting start to a new series! A world where shifters exist in hiding from the public, but to their select allies. In the case of Slate Mountain the Pack has claimed the town as territory and protects it as such. Some residents know about the history, while others simply know them as the motorcycle club, one which may be needed or may be a blight. Regardless to public opinion the Pack protects their town, but things are changing.

Brice grew up in Slate Mountain but has never been in the know if its past. Moving away to the big city for college allowed him to expand his thinking and coming home he sees different things in his town he want to fix. When he becomes involved with Club President Ethan, Brice sees that the Club wants to do the same. The more they get involved the more Brice learns about his town.

Ethan is alpha to the Pack and fierce protector to his town. Meeting his mate is amazing but things have been changing. The forest had something stalking with no scent, and families are being town apart by the local Pastor. If Ethan and Brice want a life together they are going to have to work to find the root of what is happening in their town

The relationship has some difficulty but that is all settled within this book. The story of the town, and whatever is plaguing it, is left open for future books to investigate. Interested to see what is next!

✔ Letto in lingua originale!

Per me è ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ e 💋

To begin with, I have enjoyed this type of mating stories for many years. I want the cheese and the fated mate, but this one was just okay. I read this blueprint before, and this one is forgettable. I found myself absentmindedly reading and going back because I didn't fully absorb what I was reading in the last few pages.

Secondly, how Brice and Ethan have coexisted in that town, and Ethan never realized that they are mates. Did I miss the explanation? Everything happened so fast, and Brice was just too easygoing with shifter revelation.

To sum it all up, This was a miss for me. I didn't feel the connection between these two characters. I might, and I mean, MIGHT read the second book before I abandon this series. I do tend to find later books might be an improvement on the first book.

It was boring... I hate describing books as boring because it destroys a piece of my soul each time. The romance wasn't even really romance? Yes it was only a novella, but the two MC's were way too insta love for me. Insta attraction is one thing, but They hardly know anything about each other and neither do we as the readers. Nah man not for me. The plot was meh. The characters were also meh. I feel like the only thing I know about Ethan is he's a biker and that Brice is the mayor's son. I didn't feel a connection to either MC's. We didn't really get a chance to explore the characters which is why I'm generally not a fan of novellas... I'll try the second because the sheriff sounds interesting to me, and who knows, maybe it'll be a little better.

This is the first book in a new collaboration between Sammi Cee and Michelle Frost. I came upon it and couldn't put the book down. It's a story about a small town with magic and where wolfs make sure it is a safe place to live. We meet up with the men from the Slate Mountain Wolf Pack and how they meet their fated mates. We learn about the greedy mayor and a pastor who is setting up his parishens against their own kids. A story about the LGBT+ friendly center where all these kids find a welcome place. But soon, things grow out of hand in the town and the wolf pack has its hands full to keep everybody safe. Wolfs, bears and witches come together in one big fight after fires, bombs and kidnappings are trying to tear the town down. I have enjoyed these books and was glad to read there will be coming more. Because I am not done yet with these amazing men.

Very good, nice start of new series!

I really enjoyed this book. It was pretty quick, but had a full story and nice job of introducing us to Slate Mountain. I liked the idea of the gang/pack being the guardians to the town and hope to see more of that history in future books. Good job with character and story development, it flows well, and the writing is smooth and blends perfectly between the two authors.

Loved Ethan & Brice, great chemistry, and the mates concept is a favorite of mine. We have some hints of future couples and I’m dying to know who is next as well as find out more about what’s going on in town.

Overall a very good book and start to this series! I’ll be eagerly watching for the next one!

Fated Mates Shifter MM Romance

3 stars!

This was a good introduction to a new series about a wolf shifter pack/Motorcycle Club that protects a small town of unsuspecting humans.

I liked the idea behind the story. I just wanted more details. What was in that folder Brice got? Who is Archie really? He seems really in the know. Why can't they just tell Jeremy the truth? I felt like the MCs barely know each other but I guess that is what happens when so much time happens off page. All of a sudden 2 weeks are gone and we don't know what happened during that time.

Overall, this was a good first book with a promise of 3 more all with an overarching storyline which makes me hopeful that some of my questions get answers.

Ethan is the Alpha of a motorcycle pack in Slate Mountain. The majority if the town are not aware of their existence and believe they are nothing more than a gang of outlaws. Some humans are aware and provide assistance. Brice is the mayor's son and has just returned from college. His father has very strict ideas as to how Brice should behave and who to help. There is a mystery in town involving the youth of the community being homeless. Ethan and Brice discover they are mates. Together they have to help the young people in town and Brice comes to the harsh realization that his father is not a good man. I can't wait to discover more in Slate Mountain.

It was a nice quick read. There wasn't much in development of the relationship between the characters, insta-lust/love ruled by the mating call, but their chemistry worked, at least for me. The pack is small, but they are committed to protect their town.
Because it's a novella, there is of course that dreaded cliffhanger, an overreaching arc to the next book or books. I was lucky to have the second book lined up, but still, I am not a fan of episodic writing, even if the couple's story is a HEA.
A lot of side characters are introduced and are screaming for their own books. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

I truly enjoyed reading this wonderful shifter romance. The characters were compelling and the world building was well done. Brice and Ethan were perfect for each other and I applaud the fact that Brice had no fear once he realized that Ethan was a wolf shifter who helped to protect their town. To some extent it was difficult for me to read about some of the horrors that were going on, however, it was handled well at the end. I'm ready to read the next book in this series. Overall, it was a touching and fascinating read. =)
