Himpressions: The Blackwoman's Guide to Pampering the Blackman

Rate this book
While running a chain of chic Hollywood shoe shine parlors, Valerie Shaw listened to her crew and clientele complain about their problems with the opposite sex. Shaw discovered that Black men felt alienated and disrespected by their Black Sisters.
Out of years of disappointing experiences, failed relationships, and hours of woe-is-me conversations with her girlfriends, Shaw also knew that Black women often felt alienated and disrespected by their Black Brothers.
Through comforting her customers and crew, by listening to stories about the power of pampering, Shaw began to discover the secrets of the nurturing arts.
Today, candidly sharing her own successes and failures, Valerie Shaw calls herself a new general in the war between the sexes - urging Black women to exert positive leadership in their relationships. By regarding a painful loss as a good lesson, Shaw argues that women can become the architects of new pampering partnerships.
Shaw teaches Black women how to feel good about themselves, why flirting is in in the nineties, and where to meet a "nice" guy. She uses her unique wit and turn of phrase to show today's Black women how to pamper themselves by pampering their relationships.
