Quelque part dans l'Himalaya, aux confins du Népal et du Tibet, Jonathan erre à la recherche de sa mémoire. Échappé d'un hôpital psychiatrique où il a passé trois mois, il ne lui reste aucun souvenir de son passé, si ce n'est cette certitude qu'il doit retourner au Tibet. Au fur et à mesure qu'il se rapproche de l'Himalaya, Jonathan acquiert la certitude que son destin est intimement lié à celui de ses habitants. Mais la route est encore longue et les souvenirs parfois douloureux...

About the author

Cosey is born as Bernard Cosandey. He is an award-winning Swiss creator of comics. He entered the comics field in 1971 and has produced some 25 albums over three decades (Jonathan, In Search of Peter Pan, etc.).

A ideia de um herói amnésico à procura de si mesmo parece cliché sobre-repetido mas Cosey tem de facto uma narrativa (e arte) muito particular e digna de ser contada.

Sem paternalismos ocidentais ou hiperbolizações do misticismo oriental, há em «Jonathan» uma contemplação que a arte sabe materializar e entregar aos sentidos não carentes de verbalização da mensagem, fazendo da máxima pessoana «Sentir, sinta quem lê!» a sua regra-base de interpretação. Tudo isto ainda mais prodigioso por se tratar de banda desenhada franco-belga destinada a um público jovem.

Det er en perfekt begyndelse på en lang føljeton. Vores helt flygter fra en psykiatrisk hospital og opsøger fortiden i Tibet i et desperat forsøg på at blive 'rask'. Det gør man, som Hédi Fried siger det, ved at konfrontere smerten. Ikke ved at flygte fra den. Og smerten stiger til et næsten uudholdeligt crescendo, før den flader og dør ud. Livet heller sig selv ... med Guds hjælp.

Coseys stil er også endnu i sin spæde vorden. Endnu meget præget af Derib. Men stærkt og smukt skildret. Tingene skal blive endnu bedre.

The graphics are beautiful the story very old world Cold War types . I love it .

The graphics are very calming . The artist has incorporated Tibetan writing. ( Prakrit ? ) into the art . It’s very find your inner peace kind a setting
