Hard working city girl, Misty Statesly travels to a coastal town in Victoria to save her job from sabotage and hopefully win over her new clients from a sleazy work colleague.

Steamy, sexy, shifter romance with a mysterious past.
Misty Statesly’s career is on the line when a coworker sabotages her. She heads to a small coastal town to find new clients. One of them, sexy Braven O’Geary takes a liking to her and they hit it off. But there is a sense of déjà vu, something familiar about him that she can’t quite figure out.
Braven notices a mark on Misty’s thigh that brings up memories of his own dark past. Sixteen years ago, Braven’s soulmate was killed in a car accident, or so he thought. Misty tries to recover her lost memories, avoid her evil saboteur. In the meantime, Misty and Braven have some pretty steamy sex scenes.
This is my 3rd novel by this author and she never fails with her page-turning unique writing style. She creates relatable characters (even vampires!) and world-builds environments that you feel you are part of. I loved the last series and cannot wait to finish this one.

What starts out with steamy young love, bonding of soul mates, and forever marks left, moves along in time to find our protagonist traveling on a work related job to obtain clients. In the competition a work colleague. That sets up conflict in the story line right away. To complicate the storyline and add to the romance enters a good-looking man and a sense of uncommon familiarity, déjà vu. I love how this played into the storyline because it begins to tie in a loose thread from the beginning, a wondering of what happened to that young couple. Once their steamy, sexy relationship develops and a sense of lost love recaptured begins other conflicts enter into the story heightening tension and moving it along at a rapid clip. Against those bent on doing them wrong they set out on their journey of intimacy with sex scenes burning from the pages. But will they survive as a couple or be torn asunder. No spoilers here but suffice it to say this held my interest right down to the last satisfying page.

The premise of Kept in the Dark of Love and Lust was very unique while the creative twists in the plot held my attention. I was never sure who could be trusted and exactly what was going on. which kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. How would any of us feel if we were kept in the dark about who we really were, and purposely mislead by our parents and friends? It's a question that is answered with a riveting set of happenings, fascinating characters, and a spellbinding conclusion. I can't wait for the sequel.

Quick read that kept me entertained until the very end
Misty is a hard-working city girl struggling to deal with a difficult and conniving co-worker. She is also an orphan with very few memories of her childhood. When she heads to a small coastal town — desperate to save her job after her colleague sabotages another contract — she feels an overwhelming sense of déjà vu.
Braven had a difficult childhood. Adulthood is proving to be just as difficult. He recently ended a long-term relationship with a woman he knows was all wrong for him; he’s in line to take over as pack alpha; and he’s disappointed in the firm handling the financial portfolio for his family’s business. Things take an unexpected turn when he receives a call from a woman who stirs something inside him.
This book begins with two children trying to replicate an adult ritual they don’t fully understand. The mating ends in disaster, but the children are bound together forever. Jump forward several years where Misty is thrown into a strange world she doesn’t understand and Braven realizes his entire life was a lie.
This novel contains adult content (sex, violence, and language) and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone under 18. The plot is well thought out, and the storyline moves smoothly and rapidly as the characters maneuver through one obstacle after another. For me it was a quick read that kept me entertained until the very end. The story was action-packed, believable, and original. Those who love paranormal romance will want to give this one a chance.

This was a fun shifter romance with just the right amount of drama and tension outside the romance to keep things interesting. Misty/Malisty knows nothing about her past until she meets Braven at a business meeting. I believe this is part of a bigger series because it ends on somewhat of a cliff hanger. I'm interested to read part two because I want to know about the wolf part of Misty and who her other mate is. And who wants to kidnap her so badly. All in all this was an enjoyable read

Awesome paranormal romance! Misty has been kept in the dark all her life about being a cat shifter. Her parents attempted to protect her from this aspect of her life because she is special. Not only can she shift into a cat, she's supposed to be able to shift into a wolf too. Destiny had blessed Misty with two life mates, both of which she knew when she was a child. Both marked her as their mate, but Misty remembers none of this due to a witch putting a spell on her, erasing her memory. Now as an adult she meets one of her life mates, Braven who is a cat shifter. He's a client, but quickly becomes much more. When he tells her about her past she doesn't want to believe it, yet deep down she knows Braven is hers and she's been missing something important in her life. There is danger for Misty from several different sources in this story. The author does a great job of blending the romance with the intrigue. This is a series so I will be reading the next story because it was that good! There were a few editing issues, but trust me, it doesn't take away from the heart of the story. If you love paranormal romance, this is a must read!

A New Take On Shifters
Right from the start, I wanted to know more about Misty and her mysterious past. I loved how she’s an independent woman, able to take care of herself, yet still feminine enough to enjoy letting a man take care of her. It’s interesting to see her growth throughout the book.
While some of the scenes turned quite steamy, the emotions of the characters are quite endearing. Misty has always known she was searching for someone in particular, even though her friends teased her, she kept to her herself. The main focus in the book is on the relationships rather than the intimacy, so it keeps the story moving in a pleasing manner.
If you’re looking for a unique take on the shifter world, this is the perfect series for you to read. The author does a great job of tying up the loose ends in this story while also building anticipation for what’s to come in the next book. A very fun read.

O thoroughly enjoyed this one! Misty works for a financial company, overseeing contracts and portfolios for their clients. On a business trip to see Braven, the son of one their wealthy clients in hopes to fix the issues created by a coworker. Her world comes crashing all around her as she gets plunged headlong into the world of the supernatural. Unbeknownst to Misty, not only is Braven a cat shifter, but so is she and that's barely scratching the surface. Misty has no memory of being a shifter, despite playing with Braven as a child. These secrets can put her life in danger and there are others out for her blood. There's plenty of drama, suspense and steamy romance that will keep you turning the pages. I highly recommend this one!

Loved this book.
It's a great read that travels along at a really good pace. Nice writing style that's easy to read but gives plenty of mystery, description, and scene setting. The characters develop well too. Love the de ja vu aspect of it all. And the sex scenes are hot in all the right places! Fans out ladies! Grab a glass of wine, kick up your feet, and enjoy. This book is perfect for a night in on the sofa!

This was a delightfully trashy and streamy paranormal romance that I couldn't put down (after the prologue, that is...). The author has improved out of sight since her first novel.
So why is my rating so low? Oh boy... I nearly DNFed at the prologue. Depicting a 10-yr-old boy getting into a sexual situation with a 5-yr-old girl is NOT romantic, even if they are soul mates. It's creepy and disturbing and completely inappropriate for a romance novel, or any novel really - unless that novel points out how wrong this actually is. The prologue also makes the incident seem much tamer than is later revealed.
