Lola writes romance mostly but she likes to read in almost every genre. She's a sucker for a love story though, no matter what genre she's reading in.

This is an OK shifter romance, but I did have a few issues with it. It gets 3 stars from me.

My main issue with this book is that it is simply too short to have enough character development. It is really more of a short story, not even quite what I would call a novella.

The terrible editing bothered me a great deal -- there were so many errors, and they were very distracting. I also found it difficult to believe Greer fell in love with Beau so quickly. She was a human, after all, so she wouldn't have felt the mate insta-love that he did.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Rushed

I have read many if not most of all the stories by this author and have enjoyed them in the past. However, this story left me struggling to finish. The characters were poorly developed and the storyline seemed very rushed. Greer seemed to have a more developed relationship with her BMF, Murray, than was developed in the storyline with Beau, her fated mate. Murray’s girlfriend, although not his faded mate, was talked about throughout the book but never once introduced in any interaction in the storyline. And don’t get me started on Beau! There was nothing strong, decisive, and sometimes even likable about his character and how it was developed. Seriously, he nearly broke down sobbing in front of his cousin and boss when he had to talk about his unexplained shifting!

Greer heads to a seminar with her bestie on organization. Not that she's unorganized with her things but her life sure is a mess. She's finally ended a bad long term relationship. On her way to the B & B they are staying she runs into an (almost literally) huge shifter.

Beau's job is to protect the town and shifters from each other and make sure no one is harmed. Right now he's worried about doing his job. When his animal meets Greer the attraction only adds to his worries.

With their lives in shambles with they be able to help each other or will they push the other away? Can they overcome their issues together?

Good characters, interesting shifters and a love story you won't want to miss.

Nice story

I admit that I like Beau and Murry. I also like Zach. At least Greer was able to up her game by being Beau's mate. So much better than an ex who blames you for everything. People need to be more positive and stop focusing on negatives all the time. I have so many ideas as to why uncontrolled shifting is happening. I can't wait to find out the real reason. I must admit that Beau freaking out over it when he clearly never attacked anyone was a bit dramatic and stupid in my opinion. I like the characters and that's enough for me to give it a good rating. I do think the story could have been stronger. Sorry.

Another Sweet Story

I love this series about Small Town Shifters. This one is about Beau the Griffin shifter and his mate Greer. The story doesn’t take long to read and the storyline is interesting. The characters are fun and the idea of a town full of mythical shifters just warms my fantasy loving heart. No violence and no graphic sex scenes. Sweet!

Beau was having problems with his shifter side,he couldn't bring himself to ask for help.Geer was leaving a bad relationship behind and wasn't looking for love.It was as if Beau couldn't control his shift. When he met Geer his animal was calm again.Could it be they were mates?

Fight or Flight

Greer had just broken up with her long time boyfriend. She knew it was really over this time. Heading to visit Murray, her best friend she meets Beau even though he was shifted at the time. Beau was having trouble with uncontrolled shifting. Meeting Greer he didn't want to pull her into the middle of what might happen.
Enjoyed the book. Cute series.

I think the other keepers know why shifters are shifting uncontrollably and losing patches of time. I'm glad Beau found his mate and all is well.

Zero in-your-face sex, but the sweet story - and continuation of the mystery from book 1 in the series - made it a fun read.

I have always enjoyed Lola's story telling, and this is not an exception. Unique shifters with very unique issues make for an intriguing read.
