I am so glad I had the box set so I was able to seamlessly "read" the first three books. The stories were very exciting and I fell in love with Mitch Herron. He is a "Jack Reacher" type of guy - very smart and tough. I hope to continue to follow this series.

Mitch. You’re a hero, but nobody knows it.
Skim Reread #1-2, ends with deaths of his assassin team and helicopter takeoff. #3 Lazarus has him crash copter, chase The Master last leader survivor of Enclave from hospital, and flee from police. He was wounded after Jessica sacrifices herself over Shade, last other Alpha. I'd add Vincent to thriller authors, but I want stand-alone not cliff-hanger; series I can follow in library or free ebooks. If I had a library of paper books, I'd need another floor for them. I like to read a lot.

Brutal, vicious and hard as nails, Herron is a character you might think would be better cast as a villain than a hero, and yet I couldn't help cheering for him as he learns the awful truth about the organization he has faithfully served and turns the table on his former employers. There's lots of gun and high tech toys, terrorist threats and wild shoot-em-ups and a man who, in spite of his occupation, is actually a highly moral and empathetic individual.
Mitch Herron is the kind of man you hope you'll never have occasion to meet in real life, but I enjoyed spending a couple of days with him and the opportunity to find the whole collection in one convenient package so I didn't have to break the Mitch magic by going to find and purchase the next story made it all the more enjoyable.

Wow!non stop action for Mitch and his enemies!Mitch is a hit man for the gvernment,or is he?The first book has him trying to stop 'the Omega strain' of smallpox from being released on the populace.The second has him running with a new crowd in the Shadow Enclave and last more action in the Lazarus protocol.Excellent writing! Tom Jordan was a wonderful narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Cheering on assassins? I did until now!
Having listened to Tom Wood’s spectacular Victor the Assassin series, I wanted to get an introduction to Mitch Herron, so I purchased Steve P. Vincent’s three-book series. Narrator Tom Jordan showed off his vocal talents in Christopher J. Lynch’s One-Eyed Jack Box Set (on my schedule for a second listen). Per usual, Jordan never disappoints and his vocal precision is spot-on. Vincent tries to create an intricate action-packed dangerous and devious trip in this first three-book set and did so until Book 2. Perhaps it was my taste. I found myself skipping to end. This does not mean the end of my Herron books. And as I’ve said before and will repeat: As my editor, dear friend and mentor wisely told me in 1979, “If everyone liked the same things, the world would indeed be a boring one.” RIP Dan Di Leo
NOTE: According to Audible reps and technicians, I MUST listen to books from beginning to end and, therefore, that is my problem I’m having posting reviews over the past two months on some books I’ve finished until the very end.
It’s not been that rule in the past seven years with Audible.
Case in point: I have NOT finished The Mitch Herron Series, Books 1-3 and I WAS able to post my review.

Shallow outlines of a story filled in with action.
I'd say the first book in the series starts off well enough, but then you have to suspend belief more than necessary as you continue on, even just to read the second book. An almost return from the dead story.
Mitch Herron is a skilled assassin whose failure to complete his mission in the opening of the first book leads to his turning against his employers who try to have him killed. Then once he finds out his employers didn't only have him kill people who deserved it, Mitch redoubles his attempts to wipe them all out.
Mostly action with some plot, there's nothing gripping about the series, no real heroes or anyone to root for. You follow along with Mitch, suspending belief as needed, as he moves across the country and the world. Before Mitch finds out how bad his employers were, when he's thinking of just going into hiding, I was thinking of a good new job he could take on: car thief. Mitch probably steals as many cars as people he kills.
I'll file this under the brainless beach/airplane book category.

Pure Action
This compilation features the first three books of The Mitch Herron Series. This is definitely a series for fans of action reads, as it's pretty well chock full of testosterony chases, crashes, bare-knuckle fights, and shootouts.
The main character and #1 hero, Mitch Herron, is one of the best assassins in the world. He's been working for one of those clandestine federal agencies no one's ever heard of. But suddenly things start going badly, as he comes to realize that he is now the hunted one. As new facts come to light, Mitch makes some hard revelations. That's when things really step up.
If you want action and plenty of street justice, it's definitely here. If you're looking for a series full of characters with depth, this probably isn't it. After all three books, I feel like I don't know much more about Herron than I did within the first couple of chapters of book one.

Herron gripped the knife and slipped from his cell. As he'd suspected, it was simply an empty room in a compound not filled with crazies. He walked gingerly down the corridor, limping from the cut in his thigh and sore from his beating. The other rooms in this building were similarly empty, so he made for the heavy steel door that led outside.

A good story but..
This is a good adventure book spoiled by being split into three not quite books. As a single book it would be a great introduction to a fine series with a little editing but…. Sorry the split is unfortunate

Action all the way
An interesting story seen from the perspective of a trained killer. The power of emotions over personal safety driving the man forward to achieve his goals makes the thread almost believable.

Exciting
Very fast paced, with a lot of spy action. Some questions remain unanswered about the main female in the story, but it wraps up enough to give a good ending.

Best read in years. Held my attention completely through all 3 books. Great characters and a truly believable and well laid out plot.

All three books related, helps that you read in order. Still some questions not answered. I will not continue series, too many directions that distracts from story.

This is a great action series, following a world-class assassin struggling first to survive a planned pandemic then trying to survive attacks by equally talented killers sent by his former employer. I could not stop reading until I had finished all three of the books in the set!

This was a pretty good storyline with Herron doing his best to kill all the Enclave members because they weren't just sending him out to kill the bad guys but to kill innocents because they were simply in someone's way. He kept track of how many he'd killed, 155, and had no idea which ones deserved it and which ones didn't.
No romance and the F-bomb was used 39 times.
As for the narration: BORING! Tom Jordan read at the same level through the entire book. No emotions whatsoever. He has a nice voice and could have done so much better. I won't be listening any further in the series.
