Rate this book
In early 1800s England, Jess Beauchene has spent most of her life in hiding and always on the move in an effort to leave her past far behind her. But when she learns the family she thought had died just might be alive and in danger, she knows her secrets can only stay buried for so long.

Derek Thornbury loves the past, which has led him to become an expert in history and artifacts. He knows Jess has never liked him, but when she requests his help deciphering the clues laid out in an old family diary, he can't resist the urge to solve the puzzle.

As Jess and Derek race to find the hidden artifact before her family's enemies, they learn as much about each other as they do about the past. But can their search to uncover the truth and set history right lead to a future together?

Surviving the assassination of her entire family former spy Jess Beauchene escapes France with nothing but a family heirloom – a cryptic diary in italian. Having spent ten years in hiding, she persuades art expert Derek Thornbury to translate and decipher the diary because it could keep any remaining family safe from danger.

A Pursuit of Home is installment #3 in Haven Manor series by Kristi Ann Hunter. It is about aristocrat Jess Beauchene who escapes attack on royal bloodline in Verbonne, France as an eight year old. She has since covered up her background and has been in hiding from the attackers in the English countryside. For years Jess has believed she was the only survivor of the attack in France, but now she gets report her brother is alive. Being in possession of an heirloom diary which is her only connection to her late family and her past, she feels it urgent to have it translated and deciphered.

I very much enjoyed the mystery part of the plot following Jess on her quest to reconnect with any remaining family. The wealthy and influential friends I recognize as characters from Kristi Ann Hunter’s Hawthorne House Series. I particularly enjoyed the reunion of Daphne and Kit from Heaven Manor Series coming together in this book to help Jess. Derek Thornbury is the interesting new character knowledgeable of the art world and skilled at analyzing objects connected to Jess’s project.

A Pursuit of Home (Haven Manor #3) seems different from others of this genre. I can’t remember having read about art collectors, analyzing techniques and painting brush strokes like this and found it very interesting. It makes the work stand out positively for me. Expertly mixed with amusing situations A Pursuit of Home (Haven Manor #3) makes for a delightful reading experience you don‘t want to miss.

There is in my opinion plenty of descriptions of funny and endearing situations making up Kristi Ann Hunter’s writing style which I enjoy a lot, both in Haven Manor Series, Hawthorne House Series and other works I have read.

There is a bit more of a mystery to this plot than the first two of the Haven Manor Series, which I like. My art appreciation is very limited at best, but I still found I enjoyed this story very much as the plot developed. Both exiting and interesting, reminiscent of a treasure hunt, as Jess and Derek travel across England in search for paintings, to explain her family history.

The romance I found a bit of a slow burn starting with mutual resentment, moving on to understanding and acceptance of each other and friendship. The faith element seems to play a background part in the beginning of the story. As the danger intensifies, the faith element seems to become more distinct.

As these series have been my absolute favorites, I have read all the installments of the Haven Manor Series and the Hawthorne House Series as they were released. Reading A Pursuit of Home as a standalone would be no problem at all, but if you want the luxury of picking up on reoccurring characters and references to previous story lines, I would recommend reading them in order.

A Pursuit of Home (Haven Manor #3) is an endearing story mixed with elements of mystery and danger. There is also a slight element of faith intensifying towards the end. Fans of Kristi Ann Hunter will enjoy this book. It is recommended for readers of historical fiction too. For similar works it might be a good idea to check out Julie Klassen’s and Sarah E. Ladd’s work. All opinions in this review are completely my own.

We got to meet Jess in a previous book but now get to see the real her and learn her story.
What an intriguing story line.
Be sure to read the other books in the Haven Manor series in order before you read this one, just makes more sense.
Jess really is an amazing woman, who will she be next? Her disguises where phenomenal .
Art, an old family diary, hidden secrets, danger, the pursuit of happiness,
As strong as Jess is I see a certain vulnerability in her which makes her all the more relatable.
Very unexpected twist at the end wrapping up the series excellently.
Very captivating which I'll recommending to all!

Loved Jess’ story. Perfection! And loved how prior characters played such a large role in her story. It really was a beautiful story of redemption and healing. And the power of love.

I’ve been waiting for Jess’s story for-ev-er! When you add the cameo appearances of beloved characters from other stories I was giddy with delight. In fact, I think the cameo appearances is my favorite aspect of this story. To see several books come together in one story…happy dance!

I also loved the chemistry between Jess and Derek. Seeing them interact usually had me chuckling and quickly reading to see what would happen next.

There was also intrigue, mystery, and good ol fashion history rolled into A Pursuit of Home.

All in all, Ms. Hunter kept me interested until the last page.

"The truth was that while the past colored the future, the people living in the present still wielded the paintbrush."

What a surprising and completely satisfying conclusion to the Haven Manor series! This third book in the series ties in all the characters from previous books, as well as some endearing characters from A Noble Masquerade (first book in Hawthorne House series). With her trademark writing style that is fluid, easy to read, and often humorous, Kristi Ann Hunter draws us quickly into the world of intrigue and mystery in 1816 England as we finally....finally.... learn about Jess' past. The setting and the world that the author weaves during this time period are so realistic and believable that you won't know what's fictional and what's history until the author's note at the end of the book unless you're a European history expert (and I'm far from that). The plot is incredible with unexpected twists and turns and the maturation of faith we see in Jess is inspirational and encouraging. Derek is an unconventional hero, but a hero in his own right and you can't help but fall in love with his geeky, awkward, but sweet, honest, loyal, and selfless ways. And their romance! So delightful, funny, filled with mishaps and tenderness! This book can definitely be read as a stand-alone but reading A Noble Masquerade and then the two previous books in the Haven Manor series prior to this book will give you a wonderful insight and affinity for Jess.

If you enjoy historical fiction with a good dose of mystery and intrigue, you will absolutely love this book. It will captivate you from the prologue and have you turning the pages for just one more chapter to try to piece together what's happening. I received a copy of the book from Bethany House Publishers and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

A Pursuit of Home wildly and beautifully exceeded my high expectations. From her mind-blowing backstory to the long-awaited glimpse into her heart and mind, Jess completely captivated my reader heart. The tough, no-nonsense exterior readers are so familiar with paired with her keen intellect gives Jess a Regency Wonder Woman turned 007 vibe and I love it!

Derek is the perfect brainiac sidekick for our superheroine because he continually surprised me as well! Between their banter, his social awkwardness, her brutally blunt honesty, and the whirlwind plot involving twists, turns, beloved characters from previous Haven Manor installments, and friends from the Hawthorne House set… this story is totally ridiculously delicious.

Kristi Ann Hunter is a top-notch storyteller who crafts genuine characters and stories with heart. I highly recommend her books and I’m delighted to have them on my all-time favorites shelf.

Well, I didn't think that was going to be Jess's huge secret past! I loved how vibrant she is in this story and the various twists and turns the story takes to get to the happy ending. A lost brother rediscovered, and a chance to solve all the royal issues in her family by finding a lost artifact. At first Derek is along "just because of" his interest in the artifact finding and the puzzle to find it, but pretty quickly it's clear that he's getting addicted to feisty and quick-spoken Jess.

I really enjoyed the treasure-hunt aspect and the travels through the English countryside. It was fun to see characters from A Noble Masquerade again and catch up on their lives briefly.

Fun conclusion to the series! Loved the slow burn romance between Jess and Derek. I also liked Derek's anti-hero type of hero with his glasses and love of art. Not quite the man you might expect to be the best fit for knife wielding Jess.

Stunning, utterly unique and gigantic twist in the whole Haven Manor series - I literally could not stop reading. What I loved about the very first book I read by this author has returned in what is by far the best in the series.

Kristi Ann Hunter is not only an author who can engage the reader in a fun, humorous way via the dialogue of the characters, but so skilled in her approach to story telling. There is so many angles, and depth to this plot, the reader will not be able to see what is coming or where it will end.

A story based on something I genuinely know very little about, and a look into the past life of Jess, who has so far remained largely anonymous although essential to the stories of those who came before. One should not be surprised in the least that you end up being quite literally that - surprised.

What I especially love about this story, is there is growth and change in Jess too, as well as Derek - the art expert that has been invited to Haven Manor to catalog Lord Chelmsfords inherited collection. What you get to see between the two of them and individually is pure delight, and leaves a great sense of peace that we all have that ability to find ourselves - given time and grace.

The common reminder that Jesus Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice, but yet, also gave us the perfect pattern to follow is another gratitude that I will take away from this story.

Now I want to go right back to the beginning and read a Noble Masquerade again. Another fantastic book by this author. Her writing continues to be unique and a style all of her own. You won't be disappointed to add this author as a must-read.

Thank you to Netgalley for the eARC. This is my honest review.

Okay ... *sigh* I'll admit it. I held off reading this book for FOREVER because I don't like mysteries (outside of television and movies, in which case I CANNOT GET ENOUGH SIGN ME UP FOR A MARATHON), and I didn't think I'd like Jess that much (she just rubs me wrong), and I was being #stubborn.

But dude. We all make mistakes. Stop holding that against me! I HAVE CORRECTED THE ERROR OF MY WAYS! #forgivenesstime

In all seriousness, I did wait waaaaaay too long to read this book - and even after I started it, I delayed continuing to the point of "hooked."

Okay, now granted, it was my least favorite of the series, and it did take me forever to read it (though only a few days once I read past the first chapter), but I did really enjoy it. The mystery part was interesting, and I liked Derek. I still don't really care for Jess - like, she's funny, but I never rooted for her or really got emotionally involved in her story, so that was just ... eh.

I also still don't see why someone as cool and smart and sweet as Derek has to end up with Jess, but eh. I guess it ... works ... ish? I just never really bought their relationship even though LITERALLY EVERYONE was telling me I should.

I also loved seeing Ryland and Miranda, though THEY SHOULD HAVE MORE KIDS WHAT THE HECK!?

Every couple Hunter has ever written may be in love, but there's nothing passionate about their relationships, no matter what they try to tell you (or even write out heh), BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PRODUCING BABIES AT THE RATE THEY SHOULD. *tsks*

The only reason I read serieses is because then you get to see children from other couples. (I mean, not the only reason, but ... that's a big reason.)

I also wasn't a huggggeeee fan of the ending, but that's just me.

Overall, I give it 4/5 stars.

Kristi Ann Hunter has reaffirmed her status as one of my all time favorite authors! A Pursuit Of Home is Jess's story. I have liked Jess since she first appeared in A Noble Masquerade and now I finally know her story. This is a fantastic adventure, with two people learning to trust, each other and more importantly God. I also enjoyed catching up with some old friends. I highly recommend this book. So grab you pot of tea and settle in for Kristi's newest read.

I’ve been waiting for Jess’s story, and I wasn’t disappointed. It was just as convoluted, mysterious, and exciting as Jess herself. There were beloved characters from previous books that added much to the story, but the character and skills of Jess really come through in this story.

Though the story is wrought with suspense and intrigue, Jess still is what makes this book so good. Her varied and amazing costumes, many talents, and backstory are fascinating. Her future uncertain

I really came to like Derek. He’s so far removed from what most thrilling main male characters are suppose to be. There is nothing overly exciting about him, but he’s content to be himself, which is rare. I’m no lover of art so that’s a foreign concept, but I loved that he knew so many interesting facts. He reminded much of my hubby...not exciting or thrilling, but steady and always there when needed. He really is a unique male hero, and that isn’t a bad thing.

This book has a mild faith theme that grows and is woven well throughout the book.

I usually would read a book like this in one or two sessions, but I didn’t with this one. I’m not really sure why myself. Maybe I wanted to savor a book that wrapped up so many book friends, or perhaps I was pretty sure of part of the ending at least so I didn’t feel I had to rush through the book. I savored this one.
With a wonderful cast of characters, a country that needs saving, and a young woman coming into her own and discovering new things about herself, it all wraps up to make for a terrific novel well worth the read.

Take a journey with Jess-mostly to see what she discovers about herself and where her heart calls home.

I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

We finally got the Jess story! If you read A Noble Masquerade by Kristi Ann Hunter (the Hawthorne House series), she's the one that worked with Ryland and was always fearless and in a fun disguise. She's also the one in The Haven Manor series that teamed up with Kit and Daphne to take care of those that high society England pushed aside.

The prologue (ten years prior to what I mentioned above) was fantastic. It starts out "Somewhere in the French countryside, 1806." 🤩 We find out why Jess has always seemed to be hiding out and looking over her shoulder up to this point. Her family (could be royals 🤫) are in hiding and those who are after them arrive. It's a nail-biter.

Things are fun from chapter one to about three-quarters with more spy work and disguises that ensue. Love it.

We may see a bit of a reunion of sorts with Ryland and Miranda. 🎉

Then things get reallll slow until we're near the very end. The romance was squeaky clean and sweet.

This was a great way to end the Haven Manor series! I was intrigued by Jess and was so glad to get to know her, and we did get to know her. I found the first half to be slow-moving, but I didn't lose heart. But the other half I found was more open with Derek and Jess really getting to know each other and allowing the reader to see Jess more open, and not so secretive with Derek who was seeing her for who she really was. Very enjoyable!

Sob! It's over, isn't it? This is the last book in Kristi Ann Hunter's Haven Manor series and I think I need to bring out the bookish widow weeds and mourn the end of this series in true Regency style. Sniffle.

I listened to the audible version (yay Beverley A. Crick -- excellent narration!) and I was so reluctant to say goodbye to these characters that I made the book last a week. I'd listen to a chapter and then pause while I relived every exquisite moment and had some fun plotting what might or might not happen next. Then I'd linger with those sweet memories until I couldn't stand it any longer and listen to another chapter and do it all over again. I needed to savor every last delectable second of this spectacular series. If it really had to end (that's debatable) this was one amazing grand finale!

I've been waiting forever for Jess's story. So prickly and aloof and lethal. She intrigued me from the moment I first met her -- waaaayyyy back in A Noble Masquerade (Hawthorne House series) and then she popped up again at Haven Manor being all kinds of mysterious (which is what Jess does best.)

The romance takes center stage and Hunter takes her time developing it. From enemies to frenemies to allys to...? I love the role reversal! It works brilliantly -- with Jess the knife-wielding spy and master of disguise while Derek is an ordinary scholar (well....more like extraordinary) who is so completely absorbed in art and architecture that he becomes befuddled by simple social niceties. Women rather scare him and he finds Jess truly terrifying...and compelling.

Sqwooooeeep Alert!!! (That's squeal, swoon and eeep smooshed into one hearty, blissful sigh of readerly satisfaction.) Barbed banter, intrigue and danger and a family mystery to solve. It all builds into a frenzy of bibliophile ecstasy -- especially since Hunter includes previous book heroes in all their besotted glory. I can't even express how thrilling that was!

The most romanticalist romantical Regency romance ever!!!!

Yay!! I have been waiting for Jess’s story ever since The Noble Masquerade. That’s 6 books I’ve been waiting (yeah, yeah, it wasn’t a hardship but still!). When we met Darek in book 2 of The Haven Manor series, I rang my hands in gleeful anticipation. I knew Darek and Jess’s chemistry was going to have me grinning up a storm. And I wasn’t wrong. These two are a classic look at opposites attracting. She gets him to look at the world differently and vice versatility. They round each other out in such a wonderful way.
There was a mystery to this story that we haven’t really seen in other Kristi Hunter books and it was well done and intriguing. We were all along for the ride, trying to piece together the clues in the art.
I loved seeing beloved characters from past books as well. And that closer scene was great and romantic. I only wish there had been more romantic scenes like that. A bit more heart-eye swoonies and this story would have ticked all the boxes.

ENGLAND , 1816

Jess aka Jessamine Beauchene, cook at Haven Manor, ex-spy
Derek Thornbury, Art expert, all around thorn in Jess's side
Daphne and Kit, friends of Jess's from Haven Manor
Ryland, Duke of Marshington
Miranda, Ryland's wife
William, Marquis of Chemsford, Daohne's husband
Lord Graham Wharton, Kit's husband

This! This was why I continued this series, and I'm so glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jess (the focus of book three) was pretty much a mystery all the way through the series until this third book. Then an incredible story unfolds that had me fascinated.

So…a little background…An abandoned estate in the woods was allowed by the owner to be used as a home for children sired illegitimately by nobility who would have virtually abandoned them anyway. Three women took the children in (babies in most cases) turning the estate into a usable home and each were taught essential school subjects, and practical jobs, with the best outcome being that the children could grow up to know a trade. The three women were called Mama Kit, Mama Daphne, and Mama Jess. When the current owner died the estate was inherited by a man who wanted to take it over as his permanent residence.

In book one Mama Kit had married a Duke and moved alway, and the current new owner, William, Marquis of Chemsford, eventually married Mama Daphne in book two, using the estate now and then.

In book two the children and mamas scrabbled to put the home back in "estate" order, bringing back stored original furniture and art, adopted out most of the little ones, and moved the rest into a little cottage on the property, away from the main house. The remnants were now "staff" as kitchen or household servants, and a young boy who tended the horses and livestock.

Back to Jess…

Jess was sooooo much more than a knife-wielding cook in a children's home. We knew from the books that she had been a spy, but not a great deal of her history was brought out. I don’t remember her at all in A Nobel Masquerade, but apparently she was an important character in the life of Ryland, the Duke of Marshington. Makes me want to reread that book to see her in action.

There's a complicated mystery and a need to find an object to bring back the kingdom of Verbonne by using a very old diary written in Italian and 150-year-old paintings. The person Jess needed to help her with both reading Italian and find these paintings was the very annoying art expert whom the estate owner hired to catalog all his art.

This started an intriguing jaunt all over England, often getting into tight spots.

“For what it’s worth,” he said, “God decided you were worth love a long time ago when He sacrificed Jesus on your behalf. If you’re going to continue to claim you aren’t worth it, you’re calling God a liar.”

The faith element was lovely! For three years Jess heard Kit and Daphne quoting scripture and hearing the Bible read to the children in the home. But in this book, she faces emotions she's avoided a long time.

"She was listening differently, now that she’d realized how important it was to seek God in the quiet times in order to know what to cling to in the chaos.”

I don’t want to ruin the book by giving anything else away, just know it’s very clean and so much fun.

5⭐️!

From the fertile mind of Kristi Ann Hunter comes a tale of intrigue. A spiritual journey is in store for Jess Beauchene and a trip to a place she has left behind. While in hiding, word comes that one she thought dead needs her help to solve a mystery. Jess has been holding her own for ten years. She is capable and equipped to defend herself. So she is confounded to realize that she in turn needs help from a man who irritates her no end. He comes in the person of art and antiquities curator, Derek Thornbury. Jess also gains help from friends she left without saying goodbye to because she intended to protect them. Can she realize with Derek’s help that she is worth something to God?
“Love is a sacrifice, but it’s also selfish, because when you are able to give the other person what they need, it comes back on to you, too. Which means you don’t get to decide if you’re worth it or not.”
Jess has come a long way since we first met her in A Noble Masquerade where she was a parlor maid and a spy. But her past has caught up with her and she MUST do something about it.
How Ms. Hunter comes up with these intricate plots is mystifying. But she executes the story flawlessly. The characters come alive through their enjoyable banter and the spiritual message shines through.
I suggest that you read the whole Haven Manor series starting with A Defense of Honor. But why stop there! Add the two novellas as well. And don’t forget the Hawthorne House series which introduces us to Jess. That is an exceptional series as well.

We FINALLY have Jess's story!! Insert "squealing" here! I have been needing Jess's story for several books now and am so excited it's finally released! I could not put this one down. Derek is a perfect match for Jess in every sense of the word and I adored him and his growth in the book. Jess's backstory was one I wouldn't have thought up but it was perfect the way Kristi wrote it. We are reunited with several characters from the Hawthorne House set and that was a favorite part of the story for me. The humor I have come to expect from Kristi's books was there in spades and made the story even better for me. I know that I am gushing but Kristi has been a favorite author of mine since reading her first book(I have read them all) and she never disappoints. From great characters, tons of humor and a fantastic setting and time period, Kristi's books are always instant favorites for me and I devour them as soon as they are released. Her books are firmly on my keeper shelf!

Kristi Ann Hunter’s Haven Manor series is a Regency delight. The latest addition, A Pursuit of Home, proves to be everything I expected for Jess Beauchene (but of course, never would have guessed). It is a fitting conclusion to the series—with appearances from its many beloved characters (and even a few from the Hawthorne House series).

When Jess needs help solving a family mystery, she knows only one person to ask for help: Derek Thornbury, an art expert—and a man she cannot stand. Still, he cannot resist the pull of historical intrigue she offers, and the mismatched pair begins an unlikely journey neither could have anticipated.

Together, Jess and Derek make a fun pair. She is fierce and impulsive, while he is steady and cerebral. They may seem like opposites (and exchange no shortage of witty jabs), but he sees her better than anyone else has, making the slowly growing romance feel so natural.

I wholly enjoyed A Pursuit of Home (and the rest of the series, too!). If you love Regency romance, do yourself a favor and take trip after trip to Haven Manor.

Kristi Ann Hunter is one of my favorite Regency period writers. The setting of Haven Manor has been perfect for this series, and from her detailed descriptions, I think I could recognize the Manor if I came upon it during a walk in that fictional countryside. Her storylines are interesting and always have a thread of intrigue. There’s been some other wonderful characters in this series, but Jess has always been the character in whom I’ve been the most interested. There’s always been such mystery around her, and it was obvious that she had some serious defensive skills. It was fun to read her story, and it was all that I’d hoped for with a suspenseful storyline and a good dose of humor.

I never would have put Jess and Derek together as a couple, but it was the perfect combination of their differences that made this story so entertaining to read. I was looking for every chance I could find to read and see what was going to happen next. We also get to catch up with some other characters from the series and that added to the fun. This is a clean, sweet Regency story with a thread of faith that winds all the way through it. I’m ready to read through this series again, and at the same time, looking forward to the next one from this author.

Another great book from Kristi Ann Hunter. I really enjoyed Jess' story. There is quite a bit of back story that even links into the Hawthorne House series. I wasn't exactly sure where this story was going, but I like where it ended up. I'm glad to see that Daphne, Kit, and Jess all got their happily ever afters.

This was good story for the most part, but there were slow parts, and the book seemed longer than it needed to be. I enjoyed getting to know Jess better and I liked how the romance blossomed. It was believable for me. I gotta say, Ryland stole the show! I loved his character and found myself wanting to know more about him and Miranda. Overall, I enjoyed this series as a whole.

Wow! Jess's story was such a surprise! We got to know Jess a little bit in the previous two books in the Havon Manor series and I was intrigued to know more...but I didn't expect what was going to be revealed in this book!

I loved the mystery and puzzle-solving aspect in A Pursuit of Home. It added some intensity as they were racing to find the hidden artifact before the enemies did. I loved seeing Jess and Derek interact, as you could tell they had feelings for each other but were fighting them. ;)

The story ended well and I really enjoyed this book. I loved the entire series and recommend them to fans of historical romance. I can't wait to read Hunter's next book. ;)

"I am starting to wonder . . . .if I have ever actually met you. . . . . . Are you that prickly, argumentative woman . . . . or are you the woman who talked to me in the hayloft?"

Sometimes Jessamine Beauchene doesn't even know who she truly is, so how can she possibly explain herself to the man who has morphed from constantly irritating into annoyingly (or in rare instances adorably) perceptive? Forced to confide in art expert Derek Thornbury, Jess tasks him with helping her to solve a generational mystery that could literally change the course of history, but she is equally convinced that her brain might die a slow, awkward death if she has to endure Derek's incessant diatribe of interesting (to him only) facts.

Travelling surreptitiously through-out England to view a rare collection of paintings brings Jess and Derek closer to the truth, but also reveals the danger embedded in their search. There are those intent on thwarting her, making Jess all the more cautious about involving those that she has grown to love; forcing her to wonder just how the quirky, but increasingly gallant historian fits into a different picture . . . that of her future.

Carrying the weight of heavy plot elements, this book's myriads of twists, turns, art references and duplicious, poetic meanderings may serve to confuse the reader as much as it did the characters themselves. Fortunately, its core is strong and its characters quite resiliant, for the ending is definitely worth the beginning; or perhaps the beginning is definitely worth the ending, for both are positively a "pursuit of home".

I received a copy of this book from author and publisher. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.

I have greatly enjoyed this series, but for some reason this last book fell a little flat for me. Jess is such an intriguing character with her mysterious past, and I was excited to learn about her origins and everything she has gone through to bring her to where and who she is. I liked the contrast in personalities between her and Derek, and the way they come to appreciate each other's unique talents and abilities. The vagueness of the mystery they are solving made it hard for me to reason out their choices and visualize their methods. I understood the purpose and end goal, but there was much that was unclear and I felt rather lost along their journey.

This is definitely the best book in this series! I absolutely loved it! Not only do we finally get to learn Jess’s story, we also get to visit with some old friends! This makes me want to reread all of these books! This was definitely worth the wait! Kristi Ann Hunter is definitely a favorite when it comes to Regency!

I have been anticipating this story since A Noble Masquerade first came out and it didn't disappoint! I actually think Kristi Hunter stepped it up a notch with this one. Only complaint- no swoon-worthy kiss. What's up with that?
