Welcome to Chapel Cove, Oregon, where life begins at forty.
What she most needed was right there in front of her all along.
At the age of thirteen, Clarise Aylward and her two best friends each pen a wish list of things they want to achieve. Deciding to bury a tin containing their life goals, the friends vow to unearth the metal box once they’ve all turned forty. But as the decades pass and each girl chases her dreams, the lists are forgotten.
Heath Brock has been in love with Clarise for over twenty-seven years and counting. As a young man, he’d plucked up the courage to ask her out on a Valentine’s date, but the couple succumbed to pent-up passions, sending Clarise dashing for the other side of the country.
Years after Clarise’s sudden departure, Heath serves as youth pastor. He’d held out hope of Clarise’s return, but buries his feelings for his childhood sweetheart when he learns she’s married.
Almost penniless, divorced, and with nowhere to go, Clarise returns home to Chapel Cove, her future uncertain. She’s approaching forty with her dreams in tatters. When old feelings resurface, Clarise wonders whether she’s ever really fallen out of love with Heath.
What’s the man of God to do when his old flame returns, seemingly to stay?
With Clarise back in town, Heath is determined not to repeat past mistakes, but if he has anything to say about it, never again will he lose the only woman he’s ever loved.

Remember Me is an inspiring start to the new series: A Chapel Cove Romance. Set in Chapel Cove, Oregon Marion Ueckermann weaves a twenty seven year romance between Reese and Heath with heart breaking hiccups, second chances, and unexpected revelations into an intriguing page turning story. Does life begin at forty? As we traverse the valleys of life, “God, who is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine” may not give us a do-over, but gives us second chances and hope. God’s mercies are new every morning.
I loved this love story of Reese and Heath. Also the friendships of Reese and her 2 childhood girlfriends was so special. I liked how they always cared for each other even when Reese was far away from the other 2 friends, they picked up right where they left off in their friendships.
There was Scripture throughout this book and at the end of the book each chapter told where you could find these verses in the Bible.
Thank you, Marion Ueckermann for writing inspiring and clean romance books. I will be reading book 2 in this series very soon.
When we’re young we think we can do anything, and the world is ours. Unfortunately, most of the time that doesn’t happen. In a moment, we may make a wrong decision and do something, then regret doing it. We let people see an act and not the real us because it hurts too much if they do. They might see all the things we feel are wrong with us. Then we feel like our life is shattering all around our feet. These are some of the issues confronting the main character - Reese. She has lost so much; can she find hope? There’s a beautiful quote in the book which Heath says to Reese: “God can give you beauty again for your ashes – never let go of that truth.” Remember Me, is a wonderful story of love and hope. This author wrapped all this story in the wonderful message of God’s love for us, even when we think our past is too bad. The setting for this book is in my favorite state of Oregon in a coastal town. Which, if you’ve never been, is so stunning! Marion Ueckermann is a gifted author. She blends together vivid pictures by her words to make all the scenes come to life. So much so, I started believing there really is a Chapel Cove, Oregon. (NOT!) The characters in this story are written in such a way they are real and believable. I’d love to meet them. Some of the characters I really got a kick reading about. Aunt Ivy is one character who I’d love to meet. She’s spunky and full of life. Now I can’t forget to mention this tale also has some swoon-worthy moments. Reese and Heath have a hard time not heating up the scenes too much! But what’s a romance novel without romance? I will carry this story in my heart and smile when I think of it. I highly recommend you pick it up, also look for the next books in this series. I think we’ll all love this piece of Oregon flair. I was given this book by the author for an honest review, all opinions are my own.
I read this book between two that I gave five stars. The juxtaposition wasn't purposeful, but there you go.
In reality, this was a lighter, second chance romance that I enjoy. I just couldn't get past the heroine. Why/how would she lose everything? I mean, in this day and age, everyone should know better. I just wanted to shake her and have her go back in time and read her contracts, etc. whatever it would take.
The hero was great. Who wouldn't want your Prince Charming to wait for you forever? But, maybe he was a little too great with his hidden resources?
There were just a few flaws, but it was a charming read--I read it in a few hours on the train from Edinburgh to London.
4.5 stars! This book, y'all! What a delightful romance that overflowed with a wonderful spiritual message! I loved it!
The whole cast of characters were so great, from the main ones to the ones in the background. They were so authentic, so real. They could be my neighbors, my friends. I felt like I really knew them. And Chapel Cove, the town they call home! What a lovely place. I'd love to live there myself, if only it were real.
If you're looking for a great, inspirational romance, Remember Me is the perfect book to pick up. I greatly enjoyed my time spent with these characters and am excited for the rest of this series.
I so enjoyed this first installment of a new series! The setting is magnificent, and Marion tells a wonderful story of chasing your dreams .... only to find.your way back home to truly be fulfilled. I love how the characters build their relationship back together all while seeking God's best. Cannot wait to visit Chapel Cove again soon!
Remember Me A Chapel Cove Romance Book 1 By: Marion Ueckermann
Chapel Cove, Oregon....oh how Marion has created such a picturesque view of this quaint town with townsfolk that are as sweet as can be. I so wanna visit Chapel Cove and meet all the people.
Reese and Heath are two I’d love to meet. These two characters tied the whole story together with the hardships they overcome as life went on. Not letting fear drown their dreams, with tough love and finding faith in God, they pushed forward and battled those hardships to conquer the world and their lives.
Having a past together and pursuing different dreams fresh out of high school, these two thought they knew it all. The world was at their fingertips. Bad choices and not living for God was how their lives ended up.
Heath stayed in town as his first love left to follow those big dreams she had. As he learned early on, Heath had to make a change, he couldn’t keep making those bad choices. Turning his life around and becoming a youth pastor, he is forever grateful for that second chance.
Just when Reese thought she was in a good place, a good life, her world was turning upside down all along. It all shattered when she couldn’t take it any more. Just shy of turning 40 years old, she moves back home to Chapel Cove.
When the two reunite, can the past they shared come full circle and give them the love they both desire?
Second chances, following God’s will and seeking help when things fall apart, Reese and Heath show us that God is always with us and He will never forsake us. Nor will He give us a storm that we are not strong enough to battle.
And being in a small town such as Chapel Cove, where friendships are special bonds and where family are treasures, I look so forward to visiting again and getting acquainted with everyone.
Remember Me by Marion Ueckermann is a delightful Christian romance that will warm your heart. It is the first book in the Chapel Cove Romance series and I cannot wait for the subsequent books. There are always opportunities to return to God, no matter how far we have wandered. “Was it possible for her to find her way back to Him?” There are themes of the prodigals returning, second chances and new beginnings. When we return home, both physically and spiritually, there is much rejoicing. God never wanders from us. “She’d lost touch with the Almighty.” Sometimes in the good times, we lose sight of God. We are so ‘me’ focused that we forget that all our blessings come from Him. There is the theme of prayer. “Maybe God simply wasn’t interested in hearing her prayers.” God always hears and answers prayer. We cannot expect to dictate to Him the answers we want and expect Him to answer the way we want. God answers in the way that is best for us. It is important to look after others less fortunate than ourselves. Everything we have comes from God. We need to use our blessings to bless others. The characters are delightfully with warm and welcoming natures. Their interactions are wonderful to witness. Marion Ueckermann always creates characters that weave their way into the reader’s heart. I really enjoyed Remember Me it was another fabulous offering from Marion Ueckermann. I always know that whenever I pick up any of her novels, I will be entertained, welcomed and left smiling, feeling good about the world. Take a trip to Chapel Cove today, leave the world behind and relax for a few hours. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
This was my first time reading this author, and unfortunately, it wasn't a good introduction to her work! I found the book quite boring! I had a really hard time connecting with Reese for most of the book, in fact, it wasn't until the end of the book that I began to like her as a character! Heath was a little puppy dog-ish in his devotion to Reese, and I really didn't like how he essentially screwed over his friend when Reese mentioned her needs. I did like the slow burn of their reconnection, and the sweet nature of their romance. Perhaps this was a case of me not really being in the mood for this story, but we'll see how it goes from here.
Very heartwarming, although sometimes heartbreaking, story filled with renewed hope of forgiveness, healing, trust, second chances, and new beginnings. The fictional town of Chapel Cove became so vivid in my mind that I wanted to linger in it, and even wished I could visit it in real life. Any reader can relate to wondering about the "what-if's" and the "why's" that are part of the characters' struggles in this story. I love this quote: "Jesus didn't react to betrayal in the way humans did. Instead of running in the other direction, not wanting anything to do with those who've lost their way, lost their first love, He went in search of them, determined to find His lost children and bring them home." This is a story that will capture your heart and imagination and will remain with you past the last word.
Remember me Marion Ueckermann writes books I love to read. They bring my heart comfort and put a smile on my face. Remember Me is a charming story full of wit and hummer. I laughed and cried my way through this marvelous story.
This book is about a second chance at love after forty, with God's help. The story flows well with a strong cast of characters. This book is recommended for those who love Christian romance with an inspirational message.
What happens when you meet someone you loved a long time ago? I wondered what this book would be like and I was pleasantly surprised. The characters were believable and it was great to read a story of someone older finding her roots in her home town. I loved the way her friendship with others of the same age waws handled.
Wow! I was married at age 41, so I can relate. The guys I dated in the past really don't hold a candle to my husband, but I think it's neat how they were able to get back together after 22 years. Very good.
Heath Brock fell in love with Clarise Aylward when he was in high school, and never fell out. One mistake led to her running away. One of her goals was to be a supermodel and when the opportunity presented itself, days after her mistake with Heath, Reese runs to New York. She achieves her dream, marries her agent, and spends nearly 20 years living on magazine covers for Heath.
When Reese returns to Chapel Cove, broken and without her wedding rings, hope blossoms for Heath. Did something happen? He is now the youth pastor at the church her parents attend, having been led to the Lord through Reese's influence. As he seeks to do what's right, he can't help but hope that Reese is as drawn to him again, as he is to her. When he learns of her divorce and subsequent reversal of fortune, can he convince her to give him another chance?
I enjoyed this story a great deal. I have to say, I liked Heath a whole lot more than I liked Reese at the beginning. Her selfish choices led to her eventual downfall, although, a case could be made that her ex was a ridiculous cliche to begin with - modeling agent complete with the 'casting couch' mentality. As strong as Reese was otherwise, she let her husband walk all over her and dictate far too many of her choices for way too many years. Once she loses everything, she gets more likable. When her parents finally get fed up and give her three weeks to find a job and move out, her mother's attempts to "help" are almost funny. Some of the jobs she comes up with for Reese are straight up laughable. A former supermodel waiting tables? A world class beauty selling clothes? Good grief. I could literally feel Reese's pain and disbelief, which is one of the marks of a good story for me - being able to feel what the characters feel.
This is book one of the Chapel Cove Romances and I look forward to reading Kristina and Nai's stories as well. Sweet romance readers will definitely enjoy this one!
[Some general Spoilers]. A synopsis of the book said, “Welcome to Chapel Cove, where life begins at forty.” After reading the book, I would change that to, where you are still acting like a self-absorbed teenager at forty. At age 13, Clarise Aylward & her 2 besties, each produce a wish list of things they want to achieve by 40. Heath Brock has loved Clarise for almost 30-years. As a young adult, he had a special Valentine’s date with her. The book implies that physically, lines were crossed, which sent both of them running from themselves & God. At 40, Clarise (Reece) is divorced & sees her life as a list of nothings, no modeling career, no husband, no money, no apartment, no car, no focus. She comes home, drags around her parent’s house like a self-absorbed teen, living a pity-me life. Her parents fear she has no focus, forcing them to set down some “tough love” boundaries. Heath confessed to God and man his past, he is now serving as a youth pastor, as well as successfully using & selling photography. He takes the funds he earns & puts them to productive use for others. He is no longer rudderless, but God-guided. Health is multi-talented & ministry guided. In my opinion, his one flaw is he’s still attracted to Clarise, who has been running from God since she graduated. While Heath looks to God, Clarise is still looking to herself to conquer her troubles. Her “turn-around” and re-commitment to God seemed in my opinion, a tad disingenuous. My impression was she treated God like a genie, who would make all things right according to her wants & purposes. In other words, Heath was God-focused & Clarise seemed self-focused. I have other books in this series, one I rated a 4.2, although this one I could only give 2.2. I hope this book is not indicative of the direction of other books in this series. I’ve removed this one from my Kindle.

My review today is on the Christian Romance, Remember Me. This is the first book in A Chapel Cove Romance Series. This is an excellent book. It is well written, humorous, and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
At the age of thirteen, Clarise Aylward and her two best friends make a list of what they want to happen before they reach forty. They bury the list. Twenty-seven years later Reese (Clarise) returns to Chapel Cove divorced and defeated. She hides for awhile until her parents tell her she must get a job and find a new place to live. She had reached her goal of being a fashion model but her husband took her money, jewels, and vehicle leaving her almost broke. Now she had to start over. How had she come to this place? She runs into her ex-boyfriend, a boy she once loved but left. How could he care for her after she hurt him so.
Heath Brock runs into Reese, she's still as beautiful as he remembers but she's married right? Her pictures were splashed all over the tabloids. Heath has become the youth pastor at the church. Although he still lives in the same little trailer he did twenty-seven years ago he has become very well off. When he finds out that she is divorced he is determined to win Reese's heart once again.
A journey of ups and downs as the two people try to figure out what to do with each other. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. In this time of turmoil it might not seem like God cares but you have to ask Him into your life so that He can move to straighten out your mess. Just ask Him into your heart and watch Him turn your life around.
Remember Me by Marion Ueckermann is a sweet yet powerful Christian Fiction. I think this was my first book by this author, but it definitely won't be my last. I liked how the main characters (for at least the first 3 books in the series) were introduced when they were turning 13 and making their lists in the prologue, thus fleshing them out and adding to the depth/background of the story. On the other hand, I found it refreshing to have a whole series with the main characters being in their 40s, but still relatable to people at least a decade younger than them (if not more, as it was my case). I definitely loved how much the author referenced the Bible, and how the Christian community was represented as far from perfect. The message of God's love and redemption is timeless, and I think the author did a beautiful job portraying it in the lives of both Heath and Reese.
Overall, a fantastic start to a multi-author series, perfect for CF and sweet romance fans, and with a small community that makes me wish I could be a part of. Can't wait to dive into the next story! ~ 4.5 stars
Some of my favorite authors in a new collaboration --what fun! With this opening story, we find three girls who are best friends celebrating their thirteenth birthdays and dreaming of what they want in life.
Reese ha!a big dreams of becoming a supermodel, but also wants to have a family of her own. Handsome Heath has caught her eye, but dreams of kissing him seem unlikely.
The book resumes as the girls approach their fortieth birthdays. Life has taken a toll on all of their lives and has brought them all back to their hometown of Chapel Cove.
Reese and Heath work through their linings and heart aches as they allow the Lord to take control to work all things for their good. This is a lovely story of God's grace at work.
Restoring Faith: Such a wonderful story set in the beautiful state of Colorado. I love how the author uses real life situations. Charles and Faith have a rough patch in their marriage until God is brought back in.
Reclaiming Charity: Another excellent book from Marion Ueckermann. So many emotions in this book. It had me reminding myself not to judge and remembering that sometimes people have things they are struggling with that we don't know about.
Ti Amo: I fell in love with this book and the characters. Such a sweet story set in Italy. This story has Michael finding his true love. I highly recommend this boxset. Marion Ueckermann is a very gifted writer and uses that gift beautifully.
This is the first book I've read by Marion Ueckermann and I have to say I truly enjoyed it. Though the heroine seemed a very young 40, for the most part, I could relate to the characters. The hero and heroine made mistakes and owned up to them. They grew and it was interesting to see. The secondary characters were also interesting and the setting beautifully written. One fascinating thing was the inclusion of all the Bible references in the end matter of the book. I found that far more preferable to stuffing them into the story. It's highly likely I'll read more of this author's work. If you enjoy inspirational, clean romance, then I recommend giving this one a try.
Clarise, or Reese as she preferred to be called had dreams when she was 13, the major one – becoming a supermodel. She fulfilled that dream but as she comes home to Chapel Cove just before she turns 40, three other of those 5 things she was going to attain have eluded her. Heath has loved her for years and is hoping he’ll be given a chance to win her heart. Beautiful story, where we are introduced to these two, along with Reese’s best friends, Heath’s brother and a few townspeople. Looking forward to what’s ahead in this series, and who is featured and/or introduced.
The author did a great job journaling the reunion of Reese and Heath, a couple who went their separate ways years ago after a brief, passionate relationship. They wind up back in the same town over twenty years later. Both characters are believable and I rooted for them to get together from the moment they saw each other again. As a bonus, this book parallels two other books (Love Me by Alexa Verde and Cherish Me by Autumn Macarthur). It was nice to see the main characters from those books pop up in this story. Brilliant.
Loved reading this book. A very good example of how love can work and with the help of our Lord it can reveal many things. Reese made a name for herself as she set out to do only to have it all taken from her by her husband as her divorces her and she then returns home to find the love of her life still waiting for her. Her friends are still there as well. A great ending to a very well written story. This was a free arc read and a great one. Thankyou, waiting for the next in the series. This is my review in my words only. Norma Gorrill
Heath lost his 1st chance at 💖 with Clarice many years ago. Now that she's back in town, can Heath convince her to give him a 2nd Chance? I Highly Recommend you Read Marion Ueckermann's "Remember Me", to see how Clarice & Heath get to their HEA💖💞!
This is the 1st story in the multi-author "Chapel Cove Romance" series. Chapel Cover is a Small Oregon Coast town, that I found to be full of interesting characters. I got Quickly Engrossed in this Wonderful, Christian Story; and finished reading it in one sitting!
Have read 2 or 3 Chapel Cove books & love the characters! This book deals again with 3 best friends who are now turning 40 years old. Their goals & dreams have not all been reached. Mistakes & heart breaks have taken their toll, but in this story, one of the friends is able to start over. Forgiveness & understanding are paramount, as well as a heart of fervent love in the heart of the one left behind. Sweet, warm, victorious romance. Well done!
It was a good book but I couldn't like Reese. I felt bad for her for what her husband did but only that. She never tried with Heath, he was the one that kept trying and being repeatedly shot down until he offered her a house, like WTH? Up until that point she pushed him way and hurt him, but the moment he offers her something as big as a house, she's all for it. I felt that he loved much more than she loved him. He deserved better than her, the only thing she did was whine about her life, she didn't try to find a job, didn't to find a house, she didn't do anything to try and change her life
Reese left for the big city after H S graduation leaving behind her family, friends, boyfriend and her relationship with God driven by her ambition. When her life implodes she returns. Desperate for a reason to live and deciding God doesn't care for her since she doesn't get what she prayed for, she hides out at her parents' home. How will she learn to trust God and the love of others again? Her journey helps her grow up (at 40) and discover all the possibilities for her life. Kept me involved throughout and enjoyed the wonderful characters.
