Lori's life needs a major renovation. Her husband dumped her for a young yogi, her publisher is unhappy with her writing, and her only family member interested in spending any time with her has been dog-napped. Could her sexy handyman offer the right repair? What could possibly go wrong as Lori rebuilds her social life and career, fights to get her dog back, and negotiates with the senior living center to keep her naughty mother? Honey Do Devin: Heartthrob Handyman is a romantic comedy novella for the sophisticated and mature. Sophistication and maturity are optional.
Randi Devilkin writes romantic comedy with heart and snark. Sexy standalone novellas feature grown-up women reviving their mojo while seeking their happily-ever-after. With wickedly inappropriate banter and irresistible men, these tantalizing tales of best laid plans will leave you laughing and satisfied.
Randi hopes any reader, who speculates him or herself to be a source of her writing inspiration, will feel flattered by the resultant fiction. Furthermore, she would like to note that anyone unhappy with any story lines or characters could have behaved differently.

It's nice to read about protagonists who are flawed and love that follows a bumpy path for a change. Dating after 50 is hard, and the pitfalls are humorously depicted in this book. With the wit of a stand-up comedian, Randi Devilkin takes the reader by the hand through the dating battleground of the over-50 female. A must-read for the aging love-seeker.
Randi Devilkin always draws me in like I'm her protagonist's big sister - fretting, cheering and laughing out loud. It's so refreshing to read romances about adults that don't ignore our experience, baggage and, most importantly, our humor in handling the crazy stuff life throws us.
This is such a fun and entertaining read! I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it for anyone interested a feel-good story filled with romance, and some good laughs.
Quirky, humorous story of a 50 something woman left behind
4.5 stars
Lori is woefully unprepared for Life After Husband. She's reeling in the aftermath of her husband leaving her for a younger lover, and her boss thinks her columns are boring and outdated. She is prim, proper, and a little bit snobby when it comes to her handsome handyman; she wonders if she could ask him on a date, but she worries about what people would think - and she's pretty sure that she's is an artifact left over from a different era. As things in her life seem to go disastrously wrong - in the funniest way possible- she struggles to live her life and express herself in modern way ( especially at work ), to improve her relationship with her children, to finalize a divorce from her philandering husband, and maybe to go out on a date with the hotty with the hammer. But she is her own worst enemy, and Murphy's Law is her reality. She finally realizes that even at 50+, you can still have a lot to learn about yourself and the life you thought you wanted.
By the end of the book, we know a lot about Lori. This is her story. We do not really get to know Devin very well, but we sense that he's a good man, and good for her. Ultimately, though, this is a story about a wife abandoned by her husband, and by time itself, and how she learned to make her peace with her new, modern, independent life.
