CONNOR:

I’m snowed in with him, and he demands submission.

I manage models, so I spend all day around beautiful people. But when a sudden blizzard snows us into a luxury lodge before a photoshoot, I’m no longer in control. Our beast of a pilot takes charge of the situation—and of me. He knows what he’s doing, and what he wants.

Grayson looks strong enough to bench press these models. When I push his buttons, he pushes me straight into bed. But we have a real problem: if this photoshoot is ruined, the trip will be a bust, and my career will be in jeopardy. Grayson has the iron will and steel grip to keep the crew together, but the clock is ticking.

And the ropes around my wrists are getting tighter.

GRAYSON:

Connor has one shot at this week, and I’m ready to fire.

I fly a bunch of models up to Denali for a shoot, and one little blizzard has them rattled. Their manager is out of his element. He’s vulnerable. Even with all the models in the room, I can’t tear my eyes off him.

So maybe I’ll tear his clothes off instead and teach him what it means to be managed.

I’ll dial up the pressure until he begs me to stop. He’ll heed my words by day, and bend to my will by night. And the winter brings some long, hard nights. Alaskan blizzards are harsh, and if Connor wants this to go well, he needs to give up control.

Or I might just take it.

This is the third book in the Submission series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone with no cliffhanger. Readers can expect an extra spicy MM romance with several steamy scenes that will leave you gasping.

Between the setting below Mt. Denali, the two splendid MCs, a flock of hot fitness models, two photographers, a reporter and an empty luxurious mountain lodge this book had everything and then some. On top of all that, once again the author did an outstanding job of using the setting for this book, Alaska as almost an additional character. The relationship between the two MCs was beautifully drawn and while there was definitely a dominant and a submissive slant to it at the same time both Grayson and Connor contributed equally to the success of what they had together. They each were the other's yin and yang. This is definitely the most complex of the books in this series so far and yet it was all perfectly balanced by the author. Truly an exceptional, scorching hot and beyond enjoyable read!
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and have voluntarily reviewed it.

‘If you weren’t here, I don’t know what I’d be doing…’

Southern born author Jason Collins now lives in New York and as he states ’I've started calling myself a ‘southern New Yorker.’ Jason has seventeen successful novels to his credit so far. DEFIANCE is Book 3 of his Submission series – the other two being OBEDIENCE and ONCE BURNED – and as those titles suggest these books are about Bondage and Discipline.

Jason takes a fresh look at ‘improbable romances’ and in doing so helps us to understand how love can conquer all! His characters are very well painted and interesting people, and the situations in which he elects to place them may not be familiar - a pilot who flies models into luxury lodges and the manager of those models – but the setting is a cunning one when the place is Alaska during a blizzard…

The synopsis provides a fine overview of the novel’s story by providing he stance of each of the two characters, Connor and Grayson: ‘Connor - A week at a lodge with ten models and a pilot hotter than the sauna--what could go wrong? I’m a model manager. I work all day around gorgeous people. But when a sudden blizzard snows us into a luxury lodge, the pilot who takes charge is both beast and beauty, and I don’t mind that one bit. He looks like he could bench press these models, and I wouldn’t mind him trying it out on me, either. But we have a real problem. If this photoshoot is ruined, this whole trip is a bust. Grayson has a strong hand and a tight plan for the week, but the clock is ticking. But if I want to follow Grayson’s plans, I’ll have to give up control. Grayson - Connor has one shot at this week, and I’m ready to fire. I fly a bunch of models up to Denali for a shoot, and one little blizzard has them running scared. Their manager is out of his element. He’s vulnerable. And out of all the models in the room, I can’t tear my eyes off him. And soon, I have him begging for more sweet release in my grasp. I want to fog up every window in the lodge with him, but he needs help. He’s more than just a pretty face, he’s a passionate man out of his element. I’m glad to give him a push in the right direction--if that direction is toward my bed. But Alaskan blizzards are harsh, and if Connor wants this to go well, he needs to give up control...and I’ll be the one holding his reins.’

To set the tone, Jason opens his story with the following – ‘I awoke to the soft rush of an arctic breeze as it rippled across the window, a sort of low whistling that sounded as though it could have come straight form a white noise machine. I lay thee in darkness for a moment, not wanting to open my eyes just yet, even to face the stunning Skyline Lodge that would greet me. I was so comfortable, like I was sleeping in a cloud. It was hard not to just turn over and dive back into a dream…My days were long, hectic, and so swamped in statuesque fitness models that even I felt a little insecure now and then’… Welcome to Jason’s imagination!

Well plotted at a fine pace, Jason’s new novel has zing! And he has provided a very fresh look a BDSM! His writing style grows more secure and sophisticated. He is well on the way to the top!

Jason Collins' Defiance is the third book in the Submission series and it's absolutely compelling.

Connor and Grayson meet during a photo shoot that goes wrong, as a snow storm changes everything. One's a pilot who's big and burly, the other's an agent for the models. These two have no business being attracted to each other, let alone ending up together.

One of the best parts of their relationship is the fact that among all the hot models, these two men choose each other. It's refreshing that they are drawn to each other, instead of one of the models.

As for the best part of their relationship, well that has to be their D/s relationship. The reason for them to fall into these sexual roles is perfectly explained, and adds tremendously to their story. Not only are their sexual encounters steamy and hot, they are also emotional and cathartic.

As for outside of the bedroom, their relationship is amazingly equal, as both men help one another, and contribute to the shoot's success. They compliment one another perfectly and are splendidly dynamic together.

The setting in Alaska is wonderful. It's described well and definitely becomes a character of its' own. The snow, the scenery, the lodge, all of it plays an important role.

Defiance is definitely my favorite of this Jason Collins Submission series. Between Alaska, great men, and some scorching sex scenes, it's a lot of fun.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the third book in the Submission series. In this book Grayson is the owner of the small plane airline that flies all over the north. When he brings Connor and a team of models to a resort for a photoshoot, they get snowed in from a blizzard and Grayson steps up to take control of the group. Connor is from LA and he is a manager for a modelling agency. He knows this photoshoot could lead to a promotion and he feels the pressure to have things perfect. When the blizzard hits, they are left at the resort without any staff and have to fend for themselves. Connor is very happy to have Grayson there and looks to him for leadership. Grayson gets everyone settled and together he and Connor set off to explore the lodge. Grayson and Connor flirt with each other throughout their exploration and Grayson tells Connor to meet him later that evening. Connor is attracted to Grayson and there is something about him that makes Connor want to do everything Grayson says. They begin seeing each other, but Grayson tells Connor he has to give him complete control. Connor agrees and is more than willing. Grayson also has some ideas to help the photographers still salvage some of the photoshoot. The models all look to Grayson and are will to work to get the photos they need. I really liked this book. I loved Grayson. I think he was a great guy who knew how to have fun and he was willing to do things he wasn't comfortable with in order to make Connor happy. I really liked Connor and Grayson together. I loved Grayson's dominate ways, i think Connor needed them to give up control of some things. Another good one in this series.

Wow what an addition to the series. This story is such a original idea that it kept my attention from the beginning. All the talk about the gorgeous models sure didn’t hurt. And then there is Grayson. Who himself seems to just fit anywhere. He just grabbed my heart from the beginning. He is willing to jump right in and solve problems like they are nothing. He is comfortable around anybody. He just stands out as a person I would just have to like. And Connor is no slouch in the take charge right up until he is faced with Grayson. Together they sound like they should not fit together yet the just do. It would appear that they would both be the incharge yet as the story goes there are areas that the roles change. I found it interesting how the author took a story where the issues seemed unsolvable yet not only were the issues addressed but fixed in such logical ways. I really appreciated the wedding ending. It is easy to picture the whole thing yet I’ve never seen much of Alaska. I also was glad past characters play a part in the continuing story without each book being a cliffhanger (I hate cliffhangers). The book not only has a strong story but the sex is really hot. I had to admit to the scenes more than being a turn on. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

I like the Alaskan frontier setting for this series. Good marks for the heat. The power exchange (dom/sub) part of this MM story had a lot of adventurous play, but the plot otherwise was a bit flat for me. I've read all three books in this series so far and this was my least favorite.

Plus, some details in the story just seemed off. To name a few:
The remote Alaska luxury lodge setting, as described, seemed as huge as that resort Jack Nicholson goes bonkers in in The Shining. The constant discovery of new amenities and rooms gave Connor and Grayson's escapes for one on one play variety but seemed a bit too fantastic.
And they rented the whole thing for an athletic film shoot and arrived with no back-up plan for bad weather? In Alaska?
Just some of the details that strained credulity for me; I never cared about any of the secondary characters and it lost my interest despite Connor and Grayson's frenetic, red hot 🔥 couplings. After a while I had to skim 😒.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Temperature goes from below zero to HAWT

While on a photo shoot at a luxurious lodge Connor and his crew, which includes models, photographers, and a journalist, an incoming snowstorm threatens to put his photo shoot in disarray and possibly put his new Alaskan business venture in jeopardy. In other words, he needs this photo shoot to succeed.

Also holed up in the lodge are two pilots, Grayson and his cousin Landon. Grayson catches the eye of Connor and the frigid Alaskan temperature goes from below zero to hot, hot, HAWT! This was not just entertaining but an insightful read on just how Connor grabbed the bull by the horns and by innovation and determination figure out a way to work around the snow storm to get the job done with the help of an unlikely hunk of an Alaskan pilot, namely Grayson. And believe me, it’s not all work. Not at all. When the daily photo shoots are over its time for Grayson and Connor to play.

While I enjoyed the book my one small criticism is the descriptive wordiness of everything. I think it kept the storyline bogged down. But I still enjoyed the story and will continue to read everything this author writes.

Gorgeous setting for this hot as sin series!
This book brings us in a luxurious lodge under Mt. Denali, where pilot Grayson flies with Connor, model manager, and other ten male athletic models, only to be surprised by a blizzard and get snowed in for a week.
Grayson’s take charge attitude is what saves the photoshoot, when Connor and the models are out of their element.
But Grayson doesn’t want to take charge of Connor only in a professional way, and when sparks starts to fly between the two, they are drawn to each other like moth to flames.
The plot in this story is not exactly full of action or super thrilling, it’s more like a sequence of scenes that brings us along the visual representation of the snowed-in week. And visual, it is! Between the gorgeous description of Alaska and the hot as sin, often semi-public, slightly BDSM interactions between Grayson and Connor, the book is very entertaining and it’s a joy to read!

Connor was most definitely a fish out of water when he decided to have a modeling shoot in Alaska when a blizzard hit and they were snowed in and everyone started to panic. Grayson stepped in to save the day by taking charge of the situation and working with Connor. Sparks flew between Grayson and Connor right away, but Connor felt a little insecure surrounded by hot models that he never thought Grayson would look at him twice. Grayson was used to taking charge and saw that Connor needed to relax and helped him in numerous ways. It was really amazing all the ideas Grayson came up with to help the modeling shoot succeed and Connor enjoyed their teamwork. Connor and Grayson were really cute together and nothing seemed to make Grayson happier than when Connor defied him.

The inexplicable connection is magical for Connor and Grayson. These two guys find a connection that they have never had with anyone before and it is awesome. I really enjoyed both of these men, who are successful and pretty together guys. This is the story where they find the person and the dynamic that works for them.

Connor and Grayson have an intense and wonderful connection with lots of respect for each other. Their strengths are enhanced with their dynamic and they are better men when they work and play together.

I loved the description of the lodge and the Alaskan beauty. The lodge sounds like a place i would love to visit. The supporting characters were interesting and i thought added to the story.

Defiance
By Jason Collins
Main Characters: Connor and Grayson
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
This is the 3rd book in this mild BDSM series. I loved the setting and the way this author describes it. Sometimes there was a little more description than I thought was necessary. I found the m/c to be interesting with good character development. My personal preference is for more angst between my m/c. I loved the way Connor was a take-charge guy until he met Grayson. Then you can see the difference D/s. Chemistry/sex hot!! I enjoyed past characters being incorporated into this book and loved the ending. Def recommend this book and author.

I really liked this book. I loved that even though Connor was the submissive in their relationship Grayson never treated him as lesser. He didn't talk down to him or see him as childlike. He was always supportive and acted more like a rudder, guiding Connor calmly to where he needed to be. The rope play was nicely done. I liked that the story was relationship driven. The heroes didn’t have to overcome gigantic hurdles to reach each other. It was more about lust giving away to the realization that they'd found the perfect guy for them and reached happiness in giving themselves to someone else.

So enjoyed this series!

I loved the intensity of the loves discovered in each book of the series. I loved how it all came together in a wedding that could not take place anywhere but in Alaska with pilots skilled enough to make the journey! I loved how the beauty and majesty of the Alaskan countryside is used to describe the Alaskan counterpart of each couple. All couples share passionate encounters with high heat levels that demonstrate love, trust and understanding between partners. I had to complete this series! I’m currently on reading bender with author Jason Collins! This series was much enjoyed by me!

I love the way Jason Collins brought the characters together. A photo shoot w/10 hot models & a pilot to spend lonely nights dreaming of. What could go wrong .... A Snowstorm said pilot taking full control! All 3 stories of this series were told from the lighter side of the D/s world. Well written. Story was equal parts romance & hot sex. My favorite of the 3 because it ventured further into the control of a D/s relationship without going overboard. I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily leaving a review.

A simplistic D/s story set in the wilds of Alaska at an OTT lodge somewhere near Denali. The manager of a group of models that are flown up to Alaska for a photo shoot falls for (and vice versa) the airplane bush pilot that flew them in. Their stuck at this absolutely astonishing lodge during an epic snow storm. Of course, the lodge is fully equipped with coffee bars, booze bars, jacuzzis, saunas, -- no outback comfort missed even when snowed in.

This little story was hot and the hard core D/s minimal.
