Definitivamente Alexa me desespera un poquito a veces, después recuerdo otra vez su edad y sé porque toma las decisiones de ese modo, me gusto este libro pero ese final uuuffff fue algo muy interesante.

Milo es un personaje bastante interesante y lo que se desarrolla entre él y Alexa se veía venir de forma natural, necesito saber que pasará en el último libro, espero que tenga más historia de Milo y su familia.

Espero que Alexa sea más madura y por fin veamos algo diferente en ella.
También sería interesante saber quien estará a la par del Padre de Milo, ya que si están metiendo deidades, demonios y cosas paganas, sería bueno saber que más hay aparte de ángeles y arcángeles.

Si las entregas anteriores me parecían bastante "juveniles", esta es con mucho, la peor de todas, totalmente predecible, pobre argumento y una Alexa insorportablemente estúpida, flanqueada por un aún más estúpido Milo, que la sigue como cordero.

Me dió tanta cólera leerla que había decidido olvidarme de la saga y dejarla en el olvido, casi estaba a punto de declararla peor que la detestable saga de "Reyes y hechicheros" de Morgan Rice.

Fue un mal libro, con un final atrozmente esperable, no entiendo cómo estos libros se logran vender tan masivamente, son en definitiva el reflejo de la inmediatez de nuestro tiempo, quizá lo rescatable es que por lo menos, gracias a ellos la juventud de hoy, lee, basura pero lee y tarde o temprano abandonan esta sub literatura y comienzan a leer mejores cosas.

Lean los spoiler, no se van a perder de mucho...

Hades ha sido liberado por el sacrificio de Alexa al entregar su alma que no pudo ser totalmente absorbida por el dios pagano y en un episodio similar al del final de Harry Potter, ella regresa con media alma y el poder incontrolado de canalizar las almas mortales en una desviación de energía que puede ser destructuramente poderosa, como lo demuestra al matar al angel-demonio Ryan.

Ella es culpable indirecta de que Hades entrara al mundo mortal a sembrar caos, muerte y destrucción pues su alma de angel era el combustible perfecto para que el temible dios pagano lograra la fuerza necesaria para permanecer en el mundo mortal y en compañia de MIlo buscan arreglar las cosas, pero la Legión les asigna una importante tarea que no llevan a cabo, pues Sabrielle, la extravagante arcalgen femenina, los intercerpta, cuanto toman el ascensor del cuartel general de la legión, (que estupidez), y les cambia las órdenes por una nueva que es casi imposible de imaginar y por lo tanto, más que imposible de realizar.

La misión es: Entrar al Purgatorio a recuperar "La Espada de Hueso", el arma definitiva que podrá matar a Hades, a pesar de todas las sospechas y dudas de Milo y de ella misma al respecto, se auto convence de que es la única solución posible y arrastra al dócil hijo renegado del demoño ajul, digo del Demonio y se lo lleva al inframundo en el que son despojados de armas y super poderes, sin ninguna idea de qué es lo que buscan ni cómo podrán encontrar, tomar y sacar dicha arma misteriosa, siendo recibidos y atacados por una multitud de demonios que está a punto de destruirlos para siempre.
Ya cuuando estaban convencidos de que serían aniquilados por los demonios atrapados en el Purgatorio, son misteriosamente salvados por un extraño, pero brillante niño que parece tener cierto poder sobre los demonios y éste les inidica, no solo el camino a la espada sino que les ofrece una serie de pruebas que la Legión ha dejado para quienes lleguen a bucar espada.
Ellos aceptan los desafíos y son puestos a prueba tanto en su capacidad física cómo en su capacidad para sobreponerse a sus temores más oscuros.
Una a una van pasando las pruebas al punto de casi morir, pero su valor, fuerza, resistencia y la más puta de las suertes, logran que las puedan sortear, terminando la última con una colosal muestra del poder de Alexa para canializar la energía mística de las almas humanas, saliendo del purgatorio victoriosos y con la mítica arma en sus manos.
Enfrentan al terrible Hades y la espada no le hace nada...
Asombrados, se dan cuenta que han sido "engañados" por Sabrielle, pues la misión era falsa, la única razón para que ellos entraran y salieran era porque con la explosión de energía que se necesitaba para que pudieran salir, producto de la canalización de almas de Alexa, se abrió una grieta por la que también pasó el niño, que no era otro que, ¡Oh sorpresa sorpresiva!, el mismísimo Cachudo, Lucifer en persona. quien, cual Thanos, chasquea los dedos y destruye totalmente a Hades porque le caía mal y se le antoja luego matar a todos los presentes, cosa que casi logra, hasta que Milo decide irse con su papi a cambio de la vida de sus amigos. Fin"

¡Qué historia más mala!, las dos anteriores no eran precisamente brillantes pero se dejaban leer, terminar esta entrega fue una tortura para mi, veremos si es posible ller la última de la saga.

I have read quite a few of this author's books and I love her work and every book I read of hers makes me love her writing more and more!!! I can't get enough of her work and I can't wait to find out what happens next in this series!!!

The storyline to this tale is so gripping, so highly addictive, you really can't get enough of it once you start this book. It's one of those books that once you start it, you can't stop reading until the last page and then you can't wait for the next instalment of this amazing series!!! This tale is filling with secrets and revelations that will make you understand some of the characters even more and you see why they are the way that they are and why the make the decisions they make. You really see into this world with all the different components that make this world up, the good and the bad, they way that this author writes this makes you feel that you really know this world and all the people within this universe.

I love how you really see into the characters in this book, you get a glimpse of some of the things that they have been through, the things that have shaped who they are! You also meet some knew characters with unknown motivations that have yet to be revealed and the surprise in the last few chapters…. That seriously blew me away!!!

I can't recommend this book highly enough, I love this book, this series and this author's work!!! This is a must read that you will obsessively keep on turning the pages to find out what happens next. People need to read this!!!!!

Book one had 5 stars, book 2 had 4. This one gets three. Continuing from the last one there’s more angst between Alexa and Erik but only as an after thought. The story’s moved on to a new love interest but it’s become predictable and Alexa has grown cocky and bratty. All of the mistakes are her own and if releasing Hades wasn’t bad enough, this one is ten times as worse. I may read the next one but I’m losing confidence in the series.

The City of Flame and Shadow by Kim Richardson is book 3 in the Horizon Chronicles and is a huge 5 star read.
Just when you think this series couldn't get any better along comes this book to prove you wrong!! I love the progress of the characters and how they're finding themselves and what they can do. I can't wait for the next book.

Esta historia sería más interesante si la autora no se limitara tanto (y aquí me refiero a la mayoría de los libros). Necesita más cosas fantásticas, más acción; son ángeles pero hacen algunas cosas de forma muy humana: eso podría justificarse en que antes fueron humanos pero estaría mejor si hacen las cosas un poco diferente. Además, tienen debilidades al estar en un cuerpo humano. Y entiendo que tengan algunas, pero ocasiones resaltan sus capacidades y luego no parece que sean tan fuertes.

Gracias al cielo Alexa y Erik no terminaron juntos, el instalove tiene cero sentido para mí.

Sabrielle. Desde que fue a buscar a Alexa y Milo, luego de su charla con Ariel, empecé a sospechar de ella. Al principio creí que quería la espada para ella y tener más poder pero luego de que el demonio se ofrece a ayudarlos es obvio que quiere salir y me pregunto ¿Cómo no sospecharon algo así si era obvio? Claro, hay que crear más problemas para extender la historia, pero estoy segura de que hay mejores formas de hacerlo.

Algo que la autora debería haber resaltado más es la experiencia de Milo. Se supone que es el suboficial, tiene más experiencia que Alexa siendo ángel, y sabe algunas cosas que ella no, y aún así ella era la que decidía muchas cosas demasiado importantes y que el conocimiento de Milo hubiese ayudado a que fuera más fácil y la autora no le permite a él intervenir. Pero claro, debían extender más todo.

Alexa se deja llevar mucho por sus emociones al tomar las decisiones, y entiendo que se sienta culpable por lo que pasó, pero analizar más las cosas por parte de ambos les hubiese ahorrado muchos problemas. Ambos dejaban detalles de lado como si ninguno tuviera experiencia, cuando no es así, y eso me molestó.

La historia podría ser MUCHO mejor. Sinceramente ya solo leo estos libros porque solo falta uno y le tengo cierto cariño a estás historias, ya que los libros anteriores, en los que aparece Kara, son de los primeros que conocí cuando empecé a hacer de la lectura algo más continúo.

I'm a huge fan of Kim Richardson's from her characters to her plots just everything I need in a series or book to keep my attention. What else that's really cool is I can read this series with my 11 yr old daughter whose a giant book worm like her momma. I do highly recommand reading the Soul Guardians series first to getting yourself familiar with the "Horizon world," though not necessary. In the third book of the series, the book picks up with Alexa and Milo in search of a way to redeem themselves. I have to say that they are definitely and literally put through tests and trials to overcome to reach their goals. I dont want to spoil anything but after reading it. I'm so waiting for the next book, like counting down the days type of waiting.

Lo sabía, que no podría decepcionarme el tercer libro de 4. De esta emocionante, emotiva saga . Muy buen desarrollo y evolución le da a la personajes su autora. Cada capítulo tiene su chispa, su momento épico que te hace seguir leyendo. Pocos autores tienen esa cualidad de hacer que te devores sus historias en pocos días. Razón por la cual me han maravillado sus tres novelas de la saga. Estoy seguro que el cuarto libro será épico. Le doy 5/5 estrellas o un 9.8/10 ampliamente recomendado.

Es el tercer libro en la serie "Crónicas de Horizonte" y Alexa está decidida a recuperar la mitad de su alma, sobre todo ahora que tiene el poder que ningún ángel o árcangel lo posee en Horizonte. Claro que no será sencillo derrotar a Hades, teniendo en cuenta que no controla su nuevo poder, pero se las arregla para enfrentarse a varios Belphegor y otros demonios.

Mientras tanto, Hades ha liberado el caos, se ha vuelto más poderoso, las almas humanas continúan extinguiéndose e incluso varios ángeles han abandonado Horizonte para unirse al ejército del inframundo. Los Arcángeles no saben qué hacer, han depositado la confianza en el nuevo poder de Alexa para librar una batalla entre el bien y el mal.

La aventura va más allá del mundo mortal y divino, Alexa acude en busca de la única arma que podría derrotar a Hades, pero lo único que desencadena es un problema mayor.

LO POSITIVO:
Seguir con el tema de los dioses paganos es algo que admiro de la autora. En este libro nos muestra el rol de "Anubis" y aunque no haya tenido un desempeño memorable, el momento fue bastante emocionante. Pero lo que más me llamó la atención fue el escenario donde acude Alexa en busca del arma que acabaría con Hades, y este escenario es el "Purgatorio" De alguna manera, me sentí atraído, no es un capítulo que se encuentra en muchos libros.

LO NEGATIVO:
Volvimos a la falta de madurez de los personajes. Varias decisiones de Alexa fueron muy impulsivas, y claro, ¡Ahí las consecuencias! Se torna muy caprichosa y eso relantiza la trama. Y el final, sin mucho que desear (aunque sí con una sorpresa) esperaba muchísima más acción... Muchísima, y en esta entrega, ha faltado.

La trahison de Sabrielle était vraiment très prévisible ... à partir du moment où elle a voulu sacrifier des vies humaines au profit du don d'Alexa, je me doutais que quelque chose clochait ...
La fin ne justifie pas toujours les moyens, surtout lorsque l'on a juré de protéger les mortels !
La relation d'Alexa et de Milo, et son évolution ... 😍
Au delà de leurs sentiments, ils forment une équipe tellement complète et fusionnel, qu'on ne les imagine plus fonctionner correctement l'un sans l'autre !
Leur au revoir est tellement déchirant, la prise de conscience de leurs sentiments, comme une vague de douleur ... Malgré les interdits et le conditionnement qu'ils reçoivent durant leur formation d'ange, ils restent des humains, des mortels par bien des aspects, on ne peut pas complètement leur enlever cette partie d'eux même ... Et je pense que c'est le conditionnement à la suppression de leurs émotions qui rend les anges si antipathiques et détestés. Pour protéger les mortels et travailler avec les Extralucides, ils doivent ressentir !

The city of flame and shadow was a place in Purgatory, where Alexa and her petty officer ventured to retrieve the Bone sword, a weapon that they believe could harm Hades. Having named the book's title as this place, it was unfair that their adventure to this place only started after halfway into the book.

I wished the story focused more on that world because I loved their quest, and I thought that's the most exciting part of the whole book. The black and white dimension world reminded me of one of my favourite series, Sam Winchester and Castiel the angel in Supernatural series!

Although the story was predictable, nevertheless, it was still entertaining with a sprinkle of a tiny bit of possibility of love, lots of hatred between the legions and the sensitives, betrayal by their trusted superior and the hopelessness against the evil. It was marvellous.

I gave the first book a pass for some ridiculous aspects of the plot, but not this one. Alexa is a terrible main character. I lost all sympathy for her. I understand characters make mistakes, and sometimes they are a bit obvious to the reader, but jeez her mistake was so dumb it was wearing hundreds of red flags and flashing lights. Milo was the best character and even he was disappointing when he so easily agreed to follow her and her stupidity. One would argue that it is obvious by then that he loves her, and people do stupid things for love, but jeez Milo, you may not have the balls to be a killer but grow a flipping backbone.

La historia toma un giro impensable. Nuevamente la imprudencia de Alexa, lo pone todo en riesgo.
Me gustó que se pudo conocer un poco más a Milo en esta novela. Es un buen personaje e incluso mas interesante que Alexa. De Alexa a pesar de ser la protagonista, no se sabe nada. En cambio, de Milo tenemos referencias de su pasado y no cualquier pasado, es muy interesante.
El final no podía ser de otra manera. Veremos como se las arregla la autora en el último libro, para dar fin a ésta historia.

A little draggy

Too much explaining at times and dragging some scenes out too long towards the end made it hard for me to keep up but I did finish it and will read the next book. Alexa needs to grow up and quit acting on impulses. She's screwed up everything. Well, on to the last book in this series. I hope Alexa has grows up before it ends.
