Boys of the Bayou #3

Beauty and the Bayou

Rate this book
A sexy small town, beauty and the beast rom com!

Sawyer Landry knows he's been beastly to be around for the past few months. But he can't seem to remember how to be fun-loving and friendly. Until he sees Juliet Dawson on his boat dock... and realizes that hip waders are, apparently, one of his turn-ons. But despite the beauty in the boots, the last thing he needs right now is a city girl in his way for the next two weeks.

But he's not really getting a vote. Juliet is determined that her little brother rebuild the dock he and his idiot friends smashed. She's quirky, klutzy, independent... and possibly an even bigger pessimist than Sawyer is. He's incredibly drawn to the cynical fish-out-of-water, who seems to be the one person who isn't intimidated by his growling.

The big, gruff boat captain is the first person in a long time to want to watch out for her and Juliet finds that hotter than his grandma's jambalaya. Well, that and his sexy scar, his emotional baggage, and the sense of humor and fun that is buried deep.

But Sawyer doesn't need any more people to worry about long-term and the things that make him feel protective of Juliet aren't going to go away. So, this two-week adventure can't be anything more than a fling. With Juliet down on the bayou, there's an even bigger threat than alligators and hurricanes. There's the very good chance of someone ending up with a broken heart.

I finished Beauty and the Bayou at 12:16 am this morning and it's off to my editor!

I've loved spending these last couple of months with Sawyer and Juliet and I can't wait for you to read their story!

Here's a little, never-before-seen (unedited ;) ) peek just for you guys!

“I’m a little dirty,” he said huskily. “I washed up but should have showered. Didn’t expect this.”

“You probably should have expected this.” Her voice sounded a little breathless.

“Yeah,” he agreed, his eyes darkening. “I probably should have.”

“It’s okay,” she told him. “I’m washable.” Images of showers and soap bubbles tripped through her mind and she hoped through his as well.

He gave her a little grin. “Good to know. Means I can get you *really* dirty.”

Juliet felt her breathing quicken. She put her hand against his face, over his scar. “I really want that.”

Sawyer slid a hand up her back and into her hair. He urged her closer until her lips were nearly against his. “Me too.”

Meeting Your Perfect Match Stars

I am just going to start by saying this series has been one of the most fun reads I have had in a very long time. PERIOD. Each entry has been a huge winner and consistent in the way it has brought all the characters together and maintained the true core of what the Bayou Boys are...fun-loving brothers with a sister who is part of an extended family of people you would love to know and share time with. On the surface, it would be very easy to discount this idea as some fluff to enjoy and then move on...

But don't think that for one moment because Ms. Nicholas has spotlighted emotions and fears we all have had at one point or another. She has us think about recovering from a deep loss and how to handle it. She also gave us something to ponder and understand how an illness during childhood can impact how everyone around you will see you. How their fears can color how your life is lived going forward. Important stuff...don't worry, it is all done with humor, sexy times, pure joy, and cajun heart.

Sawyer Landry has been difficult. No really, he has been a giant pain in the Bayou Boys Tours Ass. He can't seem to help himself when he takes anyone out on a tour. These people don't want to listen to all the things that could happen to them if they don't buckle up and keep their hands inside the boat.
He also doesn't want to do the kids' tours because he is afraid he will scare them with the scar he has on his face. So things have gotten to the level of DEFCON 2 and something must be done. All of this stems from the loss of his best friend and co-founder of the Bayou Boys. Sawyer just is having this hard time and everyone knows something has to give.

Juliet Dawson is determined to stop her younger brother from turning into an indulgent, arrogant, entitled Asshat. He has been hanging out with his frat bros and they did something which was so wrong! They were kicked off a tour with Sawyer and then came back at night, took one of the airboats out, and then wrecked the dock endangering people and impacting the company's income.

Well, Juliet was not going to let Chase get away with cutting a check and walking away. Nope, she and Chase were going to take 2 weeks and rebuild the dock. Do either of them know how to do it- No, but that never stopped Juliet from doing anything.

You see Juliet had to learn very early on how to compensate and figure out how to do things without any type of possible negative outcome. She learned the What If concept. This way she always had everything she would need so that she was protected with whatever tools needed. This learning to be overprepared did cause her to be left behind many a time...and it was hurtful. But being the strong person she was, she chalked it up to the way things were and got over it...

Sawyer finds himself watching a woman leaning over a ledge talking to someone on a cellphone and is stunned. When he comes up and asks her what the hell is she doing, she drops the phone and now is trying to reach for it. This compact vision has a life jacket and hard hat on and OMG Sawyer is seeing this amazing apple ass leaning over the ledge and he becomes alive. He questions himself as to whether the safety equipment wrapping up this feisty woman has become a fetish for him...

What happens next is the exchange of two people stunned by the underlining attraction each has to each other. They are talking and OMG, sort of flirting about the perils and need for safety and they both agree on it! But then Sawyer learns of why Juliet is here and how she and Chase are to build the dock and he is having none of it. When he confronts the family and then realizes they have been so worried about him, he decides to go along with the plan.

This story was such a gem. Sawyer has been having such pain and Juliet in her determined way showed him how to break out of it. He was the perfect man for her as he understood her fears and brought her the ability to let go a bit. Together they were literally made for each other. Their chemistry was a wonder and who knew talking about safety vests could be so damn hot...

We also were able to see growth with the main characters as well as the brother. The best was the teasing hints about where the next entry is going to take us...The sister Kennedy is going to have her hands full and I Cannot Wait. Bring it on!

I love the Boys of the Bayou series, and each book gets better and better. The culture is so unique and the characters in this story are spot on with the hunky Landry boys and the wonderful small town family and friends. They are just a crazy, wonderful family and I adore them and their antics!

I was so looking forward to reading Sawyer’s book and I definitely was not disappointed! From the moment Sawyer and Juliet met, it was evident they were what the other needed and wanted. Their banter is hilarious and their chemistry is explosive. From Sawyer and Juliet's very first meeting until the very last page I had happy feels throughout. I enjoyed every moment of their story.

Beauty and The Bayou is Erin Nicholas at her finest. Characters who are warm and funny, sincere and quirky and oh-so-real. Chemistry that leaps off the pages. Fantastic storytelling. Heartfelt emotions. Humor. This book has it all. It's the ultimate feel good read. Cannot wait for the next one!

For the past day and a half I’ve been stalking my Kindle and synching it every five minutes to see if this book had downloaded, and when it finally did, the rest of my world ground to a halt so I could dig into this one. I’ve been dying to read Sawyer's story and knew it would be epic!

Since the beginning of this series, the Landry clan has owned my heart. But viewing them from Juliet and Chase Dawson's point of view, I fell in love with them all over again. Juliet and her brother Chase are about as southern as snowshoeing, but when Chase and his buddies “borrow" an airboat from the Boys of the Bayou Swamp Boat and Fishing Tours one night and end up crashing it into the dock, Juliet is determined that they spend a couple of weeks in Autre, Louisiana, so her brother can rebuild the dock, learn some responsibility, and hopefully be around guys who will be a good influence.

Juliet is a planner, and quirky enough that her quirks have quirks. She has an accordion file for everything and, no matter the situation, Juliet runs through all of the “what ifs" so she can anticipate the unexpected and be fully prepared. But with all of her painstaking advance planning, nothing could have prepared her for Sawyer Landry.

Sawyer, bless his heart, is a heartbreak and a half. He lost his best friend to the bayou he loves so much, and now he's obsessed with keeping everyone safe, preferably tucked away in bubble wrap. He’s lived the days since Tommy's death being uptight and worried, and hasn’t seen a glimmer of the old, laid back Mr. Nice Guy in all that time. But Juliet has him feeling things he hasn’t felt in a long time and wanting to do things he hasn’t done in the last nine months. Like smile. And laugh.

Juliet and Sawyer both have traits that might be off putting to the average person. To those who love and understand them those traits are patiently accepted, and it isn’t long before the reader understands and loves these characters, as well. Regardless of their flaws, Juliet and Sawyer are both strong, compassionate characters, and it quickly becomes apparent how their strengths benefit each other.

This series just keeps getting better and better. With plenty of laughs and more Landry craziness, this one goes even deeper. Juliet and Sawyer both have a lot from their past that they're dealing with, but there's something especially endearing when a character accepts their flaws and works to be their best version of self, and it’s especially beautiful when Sawyer and Juliet's broken pieces fit the other so perfectly. Their challenges are authentic, their struggles believable, and their growth is inspiring.

Not only do we get these two amazing characters and the rest of the Landrys, but we get to reunite with a few characters from The Boys of the Big Easy Series, including nine-year-old Stella who asked Sawyer to marry her and her scary-smart, serious stepbrother Cooper, who is nine going on forty. And it's little Cooper who offers the words of wisdom that are so helpful to Juliet. Well, that, as well as the whole Landry clan. Because to Juliet, people who will support her and have her back, no questions asked, is more than she can resist.

Clever, witty and sarcastic, this one has undeniable chemistry and plenty of steam, but also more than its share of tugs at the heartstrings, making this a hilarious, poignant, delightful read that you won’t want to miss!

*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.

This book is just another reason why I will never miss an Erin Nicholas romance! Sawyer's reaction to Juliet's arrival, both of their interactions with each other and the secondary characters, their undeniable chemistry, their need to help each other, their obvious love for their families. There isn't one thing about this book that I didn't love. There's nothing I would change. Well, the only thing I would change would be the ability to start at the beginning and read this amazing story for the first time! I went to sleep after finishing with a tear in my eye and a big smile on my face! I'm anxiously awaiting Kennedy's story...

This author is NEW TO ME therefore I took a chance because the Blurb alone caught my eye.
That said GLAD I DID!!

Sawyer is a MANLY-MAN and mmmhm thank god he is, because not only is he handsome but brave, strong and smart.
But Sawyer is a broken man, after the incident year before it left him hollow and empty, feeling guilty and broken.

Juliet is beautiful and smart, but a city girl...someone Sawyer does not need in his life. But Juliet is determined to
give her little brother the lesson in life and get him on the right path.
Not only that but she decided a lesson would be best served if the crime that was committed
were to be fixed, so she jumps on board (no pun intended) and volunteer's them to fix
the broken dock.

From then on it's a wild ride of fun, laughter, adventure and some steamy passion.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book and will definitely look into
reading more by the author, I liked the story line and form of writing.
The characters were very mature and captivating.

== ** == ** == The bayou is beautiful indeed! == ** == ** ==

Sawyer's a man's man--big, capable, unafraid, he's definitely an example of the guys Juliet wants her brother to have as a role model. He's known for being fun, flirty, almost bigger than life. He's also broken. Devastated when he lost his best friend in a freak accident last year, he's not been the same since. He's become Mr Gloom and Doom, Mr Triple-Check-Your-Seatbelt, Mr Park-Your-Butt-on-the-Seat-at-ALL-Times... His family and friends are giving him space to be, but he's feeling lost.

Juliet's baby brother Chase and his friends did something stupid, and Juliet is going to make sure he learns his lesson, so she volunteers him and herself to rebuild the dock they busted up. Her background's shaped her into Ms Cautious. She knows it's better to be prepared than to be caught off-guard. Her motto is to measure five times, and then and only then to cut once.

Erin Nicholas's Boys of the Bayou series has been all winners from the start, and Beauty and the Bayou is no exception. Ms Nicholas lets us see how sometimes those who know and love us best still can't ease our pain. And sometimes it takes a new friend to elicit just the measure of comfort and healing needed to bring us back to our truest selves.

Ms Nicholas's characters are incredible. Sawyer and Juliet are people I want to befriend, and I want to move to Autre to hang out with Ellie, Cora, Leo, and all the rest! Readers who have enjoyed this series and Boys of the Big Easy will love the chance to catch up with Gabe and his charming family when they arrive for a swamp boat tour. New readers will have no trouble falling even more in love with the Landrys and the entrancing, compelling universe Ms Nicholas has created in Louisiana.

I especially love the way Ms Nicholas reminds me that while love can indeed heal, love also appreciates us just as we are. We don't need to fear our brokenness or our weaknesses because those very things can be exactly what fills a need in another. And yes, life is not without risk and even the best planners among us cannot adequately prepare for the unknown lurking around the corner. But ultimately the loving embrace of our family or found-family? That is the best balm of all.

Beauty and the Bayou has it all--fabulous characters, great plot, tons of heart, happy tears, and more heat than a Louisiana bayou. And that Boys of the Bayou office? That place has seen more action than a Bond flick. The bottom line? Beauty and the Bayou will leave you satisfied and hungover--Erin Nicholas packs more of a punch than Kenny's moonshine. And that's REALLY sayin' something ;)

I love Erin Nicholas' books. Anything she writes is an automatic read for me. I've been anxiously awaiting Beauty and the Bayou. It did not disappoint.

Sawyer is a protector. He has always been the one who watched over everything and everyone. Until one day when he gets a phone call from his best friend. He can't get to him in time to save him and in his efforts, he suffers a disfiguring injury. In his grief, he becomes extremely safety conscious and over protective of everyone. Gone is the fun loving majority owner of Boys of the Bayou. In his place is a sad and broken man.

Juliet is the responsible sister of the drunk frat boy who stole a Boys of the Bayou boat and crashed it into their dock, destroying the dock. Juliet is a lawyer. She suffered from a health issue as a child that has left her with a deficit. She compensates for the deficit by being an extreme planner and overly safety conscious. She adores her younger brother and doesn't want him to be an entiltled jerk or have his future ruined by a criminal record. She decides that she and her brother will spend 2 weeks rebuilding the dock. She hopes to teach her brother skills and life lessons.

When Sawyer and Juliet meet, Juliet falls for Sawyer, literally. This story ran me through all sorts of emotions. Can these two overcome their fears and find what their souls need to heal? This book is a must buy. It is part of a series and characters from the author's series, Boys of the Big Easy, walk through the book. It could be read as a stand alone but I think it would be much better if you started at the beginning of the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sawyer and Juliet are my favorite Erin Nicholas' couple. After watching them together, it's hard for me to imagine anyone not leaving Beauty and the Bayou with a smile. She's the Beauty to his beast and boy do they set off sparks. Tragedy has made him a loner with a penchant for grouchiness. Juliet may be a tad naive, but she's no pushover. Her heart makes her fearless, although a tad clueless. They shouldn't work, but my heart kept hoping they would. Nicholas continues to enchant with her irresistible characters that charm their way into your heart.

Why can't I give more than 5 stars?? I have been looking forward to Sawyer's book for quite a while and he was everything I hoped he would be!

I love a gruff, grumpy hero with a huge heart and that's exactly was Sawyer is. Juliet is his perfect match: smart, brave, beautiful and slightly...klutzy. Their banter is hilarious, their chemistry is explosive. From Sawyer and Juliet's very first meeting until the very last page I had a huge smile on my face.

I absolutely adore this series!! The Landry family is loud, noisy, and simply perfect. I can't wait to return to the Bayou for Kennedy's story!

I am in love with the whole Landry family!! This time we get to focus on Sawyer, who is struggling to gain his balance after losing his best friend and partner Tommy in their beloved bayou. Sawyer can't seem to have any fun because he's so focused on keeping everyone safe. Sawyer's life is disrupted by Juliet and Chase who have returned to rebuild the deck that Chase destroyed. Juliet is a safety first kind of girl and her favorite past time is playing the what if game. Can you say match made in heaven?? The first meeting between Sawyer and Juliet is perfect! It is so sweet to watch Sawyer learn to breathe again and fall in love with Juliet. We get plenty of the whole family, which is icing on the cake. Definitely grab this one for a good time!

Wow, just wow. You would think when I’ve been reading an author for going on ten years, stories would start repeating themselves, I’d move on to other authors, but that is not the case with author Erin Nicholas. She always manages to pen stories I want to read and stories I love and while this has been a strong series, Beauty and the Bayou is my favorite. Two people wounded in different ways, confront their fears, accept who they are, learn their strengths, and find a love they never expected. This book was all kinds of swooney, but it was also heartfelt and emotional.

Sawyer Landry is still dealing with the death of his business partner and best friend and not dealing very well if you ask his family and friends. He’s caught between needing the bayou to make a living and hating the bayou for taking his friend’s life. He knows he’s been a grumpy beast, he knows he’s driven everyone crazy with his safety precautions, but he just can’t help himself and then he saves a pretty woman dressed in hip waders and a life jacket from falling into the bayou off the end of his dock and he feels something he hasn’t in a long time, hope.

The last thing Juliet Dawson expected when she was checking out the plans for the dock she and her brother are going to rebuild after he smashed it being stupid is to almost fall into the bayou and be saved by a handsome stranger. Juliet soon finds that she’s met someone who understands her need for safety, order, and planning and it doesn’t hurt that he turns her on like no one has ever.

I loved these two from that first meet, they connected in ways most people don’t understand and appreciated one another instantly. Sawyer found Juliet’s idiosyncrasies cute, but he also appreciated she had a healthy respect for safety. Juliet reminded Sawyer that it felt good to let go a bit and let the “old” Sawyer surface. Their chemistry sizzled from the start, but this was a slow burn romance which made it all the more delicious.

Juliet and her brother Chase’s family is a bit disconnected and Chase especially has led a privileged life, so it was important to her that Chase learn his actions have consequences but also for him to see a hard day’s work and have some better role models that their brothers and Chase’s frat bros. Sawyer’s family is anything BUT disconnected, they are in each other’s pockets from sun up to sun down and soon both Juliet and Chase are wrapped up in the fold. I love the Landry family and their unique ways and it was fun watching both Chase and Juliet get swept up in their embrace.

Juliet and Sawyer are both a bit broken and mistakes are made, but they also learn forgiveness and find that love doesn’t expect perfection, love appreciates you just the way you are.

With characters that leap off the page and into your heart, a full and vivid plot, and this author’s signature style of hot and heavy sexy times in unique places, Beauty and the Bayou was romance perfection!

This book hit every base for me. It starts off so very funny when Sawyer discovers Juliet out on the dock. Then it gets serious because Sawyer is still grieving the loss of his best friend and Juliet has a medically complicated backstory. Then it gets steamy because the chemistry between Juliet and Sawyer is off the charts. And then it gets cute when Stella and Cooper (children that Sawyer knows) come to visit, but then things get a little scary. It all wraps up in a lovely ending and some hints for the next book.
That is the short version of why I loved it so much. The longer version involves the fact that I have been waiting for Sawyer's story ever since Stella proposed to him in Nice and Easy. He is a terrific character that jumps off the page. Since his best friend died, he has been very difficult to live with. He is making everyone crazy and harming the business with his constant worrying. He broke my heart, and I thought that his journey back to normal life was very realistic.
Juliet was a perfect match for Sawyer in every way. She has had a lifetime of physical challenges, and she understands Sawyer very well from the very beginning. She has a lovely heart, a terrific brain, and lots of guts. She fits into the Landry family perfectly, and that was fun to read. Also, she helps Sawyer open up about his fears by sharing herself. They had wonderful conversations.
The best parts of the book were the scenes where Sawyer and Juliet silently assisted one another while they faced hard and scary things. They were so in tune with each other, and they brought tears to my eyes more than once. I love the Landrys --they are funny and sexy and lovable, but I think this book is my favorite because of all the emotion that Sawyer and Juliet dealt with. But it wasn't a heavy or angsty book overall. They dealt with stuff, but they also had a lot of fun and some crazy banter.
I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for great characters, lots of laughs, and a good deal of emotion.

5 star review Beauty & The Bayou (Boys Of The Bayou #3) by Erin Nicholas

I love the crazy, whacky Landry family and Erin Nicholas brings Autre, Louisiana to life for me. I would love to be a part of this family and their group of friends.

This is the third book in the series and can certainly be read as a stand alone, however, do yourselves a favour and one click the first two books as well. This is one of my favourite series of 2019.

Juliet Dawson is such a great heroine, I just loved her; whilst Sawyer Landry is grumpy and gruff to all around him, with emotional baggage, he has no intention of becoming involved with anyone.

Trying to repair the damage her brother and his friends caused to the dock of The Boys of the Bayou tour boats Juliet struggles. When Sawyer sees Juliet he is intrigued.

Juliet believes that beneath his gruff exterior, she knows that he could be fun, if only he will let her in.

The chemistry between Sawyer and Juliet is intense, the only question is can they ignore their feelings or will they give in to the growing attraction that smoulders between them?

As always the members of the Landry family were a hoot and I loved the banter and the camaraderie.

Beauty & The Bayou is a story with lots of snort worthy, laugh out loud moments which had me falling for Sawyer and Juliet, hook, line and sinker from the first to the last page. I loved it and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

There was absolutely nothing that I would change and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Oh my these Landry men have been so much fun! It's finally time for Sawyer to get his story and was it a great one. If you have read books 1 and 2 you know that Sawyer has been having a rough time of things for the past 9 months. Juliet is an attorney from Virginia that is working alongside her brother Chase in doing repairs to the Landry's dock that Chase and his friends destroyed in a drunken swamp boat adventure. Juliet believes that Chase will learn more by working off his debt than simply writing a check. To say that Sawyer doesn't think that this is a good idea is an understatement. Two people working with power tools that have no clue how to use them is an accident waiting to happen and no matter how easy on the eyes Juliet is, Sawyer is all about safety first. Juliet is intrigued by the gruff and sexy Sawyer but she's headed back to Virginia in two weeks so should she sample what the Bayou has to offer or stay in her lane? Beauty and the Bayou is what readers want in a romance, laughter, emotions, silliness, heat and love. It really is a great story about two people that need to relax and let the good times roll! The question is are they going to be able to do that. Beauty and the Bayou is told from dual POV and will give you all the feels and tastes of the Louisiana bayou.

If you don’t want to take a trip to the Bayou after reading this book, then we can’t be friends. I started to fall in love with Sawyer and his family in previous books in this series. Erin Nicholas allowed Sawyer to open himself up and show his vulnerability to not only Juliet, but to the readers as well. Sawyer showed that a strong, “Bayou Boy” can have a sensitive side in caring for family and friends. I loved how Juliet helped Sawyer to see that he can help others and not be a grump about it! The secondary characters of this story stood out to me. Grandma Jelly (aka Ellie) helped Sawyer to see that not everyone wants to be saved and to allow Juliet to save herself, Chance learned valuable lessons (I think we will Chance have his own book in the future.), and Kennedy stepped up her flirt game with Bennett! Beauty and the Bayou is a must read for any fan!

This is third in a series and Sawyer is pretty present in the others, so it's probably nice if you've seen the big mope and his effect on his friends and family. Each of the other books has their concern for him, at least in part. So I definitely recommend reading the other two first. Also, there's a tie in from a previous series that kind of made me mad as I hadn't twigged to that connection before (and I hate reading out of order). I really feel like I'd have better appreciated some of those interaction had I read that series before this one as well.

Edit to Add: I can't believe I got through that entire review and forgot to gripe about that embarrassingly awful cover! Holy cowpat is that a stupid depiction of these two protagonists. Where is Sawyer's scar?!?!? and did we just ignore that there's a foot height difference between them?!? I'd say this is amateur hour for cover design, but I think most amateurs would do better than that. That is a professional-level of I-don't-care, that is.

I had a harder time buying the premise to this one than the others, and that limited my enjoyment a bit. Sawyer is a big unreasonable downer grumping around the place because bad things might happen. He's not wrong per se, but it's just so extreme that I have a hard time relating. And yeah, it's coming from a place of trauma he hasn't fully processed but it's still damaging people and relationships he cares about and that rubs me wrong on every level. Countering that, at least somewhat, is his obvious care for those around him. Like his brother and cousin, he's one of those great caretakers who has a keen sense of helping others and the patience to make it meaningful and supporting rather than domineering or commanding. I really liked seeing him come out of his shell, but yeah, the journey wasn't a lot of fun.

Juliet was harder for me to engage with. I mean, I like that she took on hard things and that she didn't let limitations get her down. But her sense of caution was as bad as Sawyer so I had both protagonists going on orgies of apprehension categorizing all the things that could go wrong and giving them so much weight regardless of how unlikely or unrealistic they were. The thing about freedom and risk is that extremes in evaluating tradeoffs get boring really fast. Their little "what if" and "yeah but" games pained me because there's no bottom to that hole and neither one ever felt that any answer was too extreme to take seriously. And frankly, that just goes to show how limited their imaginations are because I could have creamed either one in those stupid sessions (and kind of wanted to do so just to see at what point they finally capitulate on something being so unlikely you can ignore it as unimportant).

So their starting points were annoying. But the story was okay and I still loved the setting and the neighbors and I'm glad that Nicholas backgrounded the Chase storyline. I liked Chase a whole lot better as the occasional drop-in and seeing him bond with the community in little vignettes was kind of awesome.

So I'm going with three stars for protagonists that annoyed me as much as they engaged me. It was good. I'm glad I read it. But I'm glad it's over now, too, so I can move on to the next.

A note about Steamy: There are some explicit sex scenes. Enough to put this in the middle of my steam tolerance, but it's been a couple days so I forget the exact count. They're a bit weird because of the over-caution thing, but not as bad as I expected, frankly...

You know it’s going to be a good book when it starts out, Nailed. Pounded. Drilled. This book was great. I loved Juliet from the get go and Sawyer has finally met his match from a safety standpoint. She was perfect for him from her life jacket, safety goggles, first aid kit right down to her steel toed boots. Seriously though, these two have the safety aspect covered. I really loved how the family took her and Chase in and made them ‘honorary’ Landry’s. Of course it was great to see our friends again but I just really liked the story of Sawyer and Juliet and Sawyer finding ‘old Sawyer’ and Juliet learning to take some chances. I also enjoyed our visit from our New Orleans friends, that was awesome. I have to say Sawyer Landry has now topped my list of Erin Nicholas heroes. I loved the line, You might have met your worst case scenario match, Sawyer Landry. This book was perfect from beginning to end and one more great addition to this series. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

Poor little rich kids. They “borrow” an airboat and crash it into a dock. Then one’s older sister insists that she and her brother will rebuild the dock to teach him a lesson. That is the premise for this installment in the Boys of the Bayou series. I love that Juliet wanted her brother to provide restitution, but his character remains questionable since he left her to do most of the work. Juliet, with her over-preparedness and safety issues, is amusing. And Juliet and Sawyer complement each other well. Together they are funny, flawed, and hot. But what makes this story is Sawyer’s family. These secondary characters are wonderful, providing comedy, wisdom, and the plot support that completes a story. Gus will steal your heart, the Trahan’s visit is fun, and the bayou is dangerous and beautiful. With bold characters, interesting choices, and steam, author Erin Nicholas has another good one here.

Another fabulous book by Erin Nicholas. Just when you think you read a fantastic book the next one seems to top it. I was so excited to read Sawyer’s book and I definitely was not disappointed! From the moment Sawyer met Juliet you just knew they were what the other one needed. They both had issues that made them each overthinking, over protective yet with each other they helped to calm each other and make them realize that together they can handle anything.
I liked that Chase, Juliet’s brother, was able to redeem himself from the jerk he was when we first met him and that he actually was likable. You could tell he cared for his sister and for his new Bayou family.
For as excited as I was for Sawyer’s book, which I absolutely loved, I can tell my kindle will be smoking when I finally read Kennedy and Bennett’s book. I like that we were able to see Tori, Josh, Maddie, Owen, Kennedy and the rest of the Landry clan. They are just a crazy, wonderful family and I love them and their antics.

NO SPOLIERS no book specifics told...I absolutely love the Boys of Bayou series and getting to know all them a little each more with every book that Erin comes out with. This one was focusing on Sawyer and Juliet. Sawyer has been through some very tough times in recent months and his personality was changed drastically by those events. Juliet had something happen in her childhood that molded her into the non risk taker that she is today. So can these two change each to be able to figure out that pull that they have between them from the first time they meet. You know Erin always brings the HEA but how they get there is a ride.

Omg! I don't have the right words to express how in love I am with Sawyer, Juliet and this whole story. All I can say is, WOW! Absolutely amazing. Loved every minute. It was fun, cute, sweet, inspiring, and oh so sexy. My heart is so full right now because of these amazing characters in this little fictional town of Autre. I seriously want to move in with these people and be surrounded by their fun loving and caring ways everyday. I didn't want to finish this story. I really want to be a part of this world forever. Luckily there's one more book in this series. Can't wait for more fun with Kennedy and Bennett next.

*I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book*

Mmmm, mmmm, mmmmm. Sawyer is just as delicious as I knew he would be! I was so excited to read Beauty and the Bayou and this did not disappoint! Sawyer and Juliet were sexy and it was such a great build up when they finally got together. Two personalities that need to be in control of everything around them, they find out just how great they can be together when they lean on each other. They fit each other perfectly. Add in the rest of the Landry clan, a cute otter and some alligators and you've got a story that you just can't put down.

It's another hit from Erin with this one, Beauty and the Bayou is the next in the Landry family series featuring Sawyer!

Mourning the loss of his best friend and business partner, Sawyer was fighting feelings he never thought he would have about his home and the Bayou which he made his living from. After loosing Tommy to a rare accident in the place they loved and grew up, and suffering a permanent scar himself of the incident, Sawyer became a little obsessed with safety. He knew his family was concerned about him and knew they were only trying to help but still he couldn't help worrying and overreacting to their lack of safety measures on the bayou. After constant complaints from tourists about Sawyer and how he was handling the tours on the bayou, they decided to take over his portion of the business until he could get his life together. He wasn't happy about it but he knew he wasn't in shape to be playing tour guide and agreed to staying off the bayou and in the office for now.

Along comes a beauty, a hip wader, life vest, hard hat, goggle wearing, safety conscious beauty that Sawyer never expected! Despite Juliet's fear of water and her own physical limitations, she was determined to help replace the dock that her brother Chase and his buddies destroyed in a joy riding drunken night on the bayou.

After stumbling across the beauty, hanging off his dock, wearing hip waders and a life vest, Sawyer was shocked to learn that his family had went behind his back and agreed to let Juliet and her brother rebuild the dock he destroyed, in turn, teaching Chase a lesson. After rescuing her from nearly tumbling head first into his bayou and after his initial shock of learning his family's plans he agreed to Juliet's terms. Let her and Chase rebuild his dock, and they show Chase what a real man is and how to be part of a community. In other words, how not to grow into a rich entitled asshole his older brothers had become.

Spending time with Juliet and helping guide her in rebuilding the dock and learning of her own fears and physical limitations due to a childhood stroke at the age of 10, he found his soulmate. She was the woman who got him, and understood his newly developed fears and apprehensions about life in the bayou after suffering the loss of Tommy. How they could overcome both their fears and live life again. Slowly, Sawyer felt himself coming back to life, and he wanted a life with Juliet, which meant convincing her to stay with him and that she could be happy and safe in his world.

You'll not want to put this one down, it's an emotional tug at your heart, along with the usual steaminess of the Bayou boys! Sawyer and Juliet has it all, hot, off the chart sex, romance, laughter and of course tears. Oh, and can't forget the kids!!! Gabe Trahan, little alligator loving Stella with her adorable protective little brother Cooper make an appearance in this one, you'll love falling in love with them again!

The Boys of the Bayou just keep getting better and better!! Sawyer Landry is the best Landry yet!

The grouchy, grumpy, overly cautious Sawyer has been thorn in his family's side for months now. While they've given him room to heal both physically and emotionally from the tragic death of one of their own, Sawyer just hasn't seem to recovered like the rest of the family. Scaring customers with his overly cautious and protective attitude who are there for a good time, not to mention his grouchy demniour doesn't exactly help bring back repeat business. His family is worried that Sawyer may never return to his former easy-going self and so didn't exactly inform him when a sexy beauty suddenly showed up one early one morning to help.

When Juliet's brother, Chase, destroyed one of the Laundry's docks in a stupid juvenile act of destruction, Juliet offered up their hands-on service to make things right. Not because she was an expert in building docks, instead she was hoping Chase would learn some respect and less "entitled" behavior from fixing his own mistake. She was there to make sure he did it right because she was nothing if not efficient, safe, and extremely organized. Growing up in an environment where she had to be prepared for "what-if's" at all times, Juliet is the queen of being over-the-top cautious and she just might be exactly what Sawyer needs even if he isn't aware of it, yet.

When Sawyer first saw Juliet Dawson on his dock wearing a hard hat, a lifejacket, and waders he was instantly curious, and aroused. He never in his life would have thought safety gear would have been arousing, but he also never met someone like Juliet. She turned his world upside down along with his frown. He found himself smiling for the first time in months and she was the reason. The more time he spent with her, the more he found the old Sawyer. Could Juliet be the cure to unlocking the gloom that has surrounded him for months?

While Juliet never would have found herself near water before volunteering to help her brother to fix his mistake, she does enjoy the camaraderie with the Landry's that she's never found anywhere else. She could easily see herself staying there, if only her life wasn't elsewhere, and far away from water and the dangers of the bayou.

Beauty and the Bayou is funny, heartwarming, loving, beautifully naughty, and healing. This is the best bayou story yet!

I LOVED Sawyer and Juliet!! They may have seemed super different on the outside, but I loved how similar they were. They are both super hard working with great morals. They even have some similar fears.

I've been dying to see Sawyer be happy! He's been so sad and surly, and I've been really impatient to see what's under all of that. Everything that happened with Tommy, one can definitely understand why, but it was about time he started living life!! Then we have Juliet who isn't unhappy but not living life to the fullest because of past reasons also. She is such an AMAZING person though! Who else would not only make their brother do some hard work for payback, BUT DO THE WORK WITH HIM? The best girl in the whole world would!

These two really had a special connection though. All of these things they had in common, but I think also their differences really brought them close. Their interactions were super flirty and steamy, that I could not wait to see what would happen!!! Their "meet cute" was super adorable too!! Then of course you have the family, who everyone falls in love with. I loved how they took Chase under their wing even, completely looking past his reasons for being at the Bayou.

Oh man was this book FUNNY! I was howling throughout this whole book. On top of funny, it had just about every other emotion too! The best part about a romcom is when it truly is more than just a comedy. And THAT was exactly this book! It was so much more than a comedy and had so many layers. I cannot wait to see what is in store for us next!!!

Oh how I love these sexy boys of the bayou. These guys and their family kept me laughing and smiling throughout the book. You absolutely have no idea what anyone in the hilarious Laundry family is going to say or do next. They may fight and argue but the bond and love this family has is just a wonderful thing to see.

I have been waiting on the brooding Sawyer’s book. I knew Sawyer’s book was going to be a dandy and take a special kind of woman to step into his life and Ms Nicholas did not disappoint me. If you’ve read the series to this point you know Sawyer took the death of his best friend/business partner, as a result of the Bayou, very hard. His hold outlook on life has changed. He's no longer that fun, happy go lucky guy. Now he's serious, grouchy and all about safety and protection - to the point he is barking at this family and scaring the people on their Bayou Tours. But when a kooky, clumsy, city girl (Juliet) shows up in hip waders, a safety vest, a hard hat and steel toed boots, to repair the dock her brother broke, Sawyer has met his match (in every way).

I fell in love with Juliet and her goofiness and what if's. She is a perfect match for the gruff, scarred and hurting Sawyer. Watching these two interact had me laughing to the point of tears. Beauty and the Bayou, book 3 in the series, could be read as a standalone, for better enjoyment I strongly suggest reading the books in order as they do overlap; beginning with My Best Friends Mardi Gras Wedding. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for a hilarious addition to the series that I Highly Recommend Grabbing Up. You won’t regret it.
