Scribble Stones Art Guide is a fun craft book that gives step by step illustrated directions for decorating your Scribble Stones. It's intended to teach fun techniques and tips to help spark creativity.
This DIY book for kids and parents is wonderful for children from 3-14. Three-year olds will love picking through rocks outdoors and washing them. Everyone will like imagining what each rock could become. Author, Diane Albert provides comprehensive lists of simple and unusual items to use to make the images. Younger kids can get inspiration from the Scribble Stone stories written by Diane Alber. Grandparents would love rocks and small stones painted by every one in the family at holiday time or Grandparents Day.
I had some beautiful pieces of art at the end. This is one of the best books I've read on rock painting; it makes you see what an art form it really is, and where you could take it...for me as a frustrated watercolor practitioner, freaking out never helped (haha). Rock painting helps me to relax, makes me remember (again) the joy I used to feel while making art... otherwise, why do it? It's a perfect hobby, on some level, for everyone.
This book is a perfect companion to Scribble Stones. Diane Alber offers many ways for kids to decorate their scribble stones-from very young kids to older kids. She shows the tools and paints that are best to use. It helped me get more ideas of what to work on with my kindergarten students.
I loved that she showed step by step how to make many designs. I've loved the idea of painting stones for a while, but I'm often stumped for design inspiration, so this book was fun. It was wonderful that she pointed out that beginner painters don't have to try to do it all themselves.
I really enjoyed the technique she was showing. It’s great book for kids and adults. It’s good to use together. I like how her techniques are simple but the rocks come out just super cute.
I have been painting rocks for a while now. I can't draw. She makes some really pretty designs that even I think I can do. Will be trying them out this week
I’m a teacher and mother. This is great for both at home and classroom hands on project. We do a kindness rock garden at our school so this would be great for student inspiration!
