Playboy's Lair #2

Silas: Part Two

Rate this book
USA Today bestselling authors, S.R. Watson and Ryan Stacks, delivers heat, angst, and suspense in this twisted tale of opposites attract. Hold on for the ride and brace yourself for the journey.

Brennan

The last time I saw Silas, I said some hateful things, and then I ran. After I chased him off with my hurtful words yet again, he gave up on us. He has the person he’s supposed to be with, so I’m of no consequence. My heart still aches for him because he didn’t fight for me. For us. Did he ever want there to be an us? I hated how things ended, but I hated even more that things were irreparable.

Silas

Letting my guard down for the appeal of innocence and naivety, I was foolish to think those attributes weren’t a threat. In hindsight, Brennan was the most dangerous of them all. She slipped through my defenses and made me want something that has no place in my life. Love. I could honestly see myself building something with her. Then out of nowhere, Jasper returned, bringing with her all the dormant feelings that I thought were long gone. My present and my past collided, taunting me—exposing my one weakness.

Secrets, lies, and unexpected surprises arise, challenging Silas and Brennan to reevaluate what they thought to be true. Can they navigate through the conflict to find their way back to each other, or will his past history become their new reality?

This one felt kind of rushed and predictable, but that’s honestly just my opinion. The characters were also still pretty infuriating.

Grammar matters.

Sigh. I was really enjoying the story, which is why I purchased the sequel. However, it was extremely distracting to encounter words missing throughout the story. I shrugged it off when I stumbled across 1-2 of these errors on the first book cus hey, Stephan King has at least one editing error in each book I’ve ever read of his. However, after the fifth + missing word/incomplete sentence in Silas 2, I just rushed through the story so I could say it was done.

I know the authors don’t like it when reviewers post about spelling or editing errors because the “streaming” platform can withhold the book from sales until the errors are fixed. That said, this was just too many. I hope the story isn’t pulled , but also that the authors fix the text regardless so that they can be proud of the product they put out.

This was the right way to end this series. When it left off from part 1, it left you hanging on in shock. After reading part 2, I completely understand why it was written that way. Very good read with all the drama and just everything right. I will be rereading this again.

"Just remember that when life gets hard, sometimes it's preparing you for something great."

Will the past hold Silas's fate or will the future prevail with Brennan? Decisions... Important decisions... that must be decided.

I can't tell you how excited I was that I was given an ARC opportunity, able to have my hands on part 2 and be able to take a day and fully emerge myself into Silas. I have been waiting for so long, like with others for this beauty to make an appearance, but with that said, I am sorry to say that Silas: Part Two was not as enticing as Part One (which you MUST read prior).

The beginning started off perfectly, picking up right where Part One ended. My eyes were captured, I was head over heals, but by 30-ish% came, I shake my head and wonder what the heck is going on. I was confused at the characters progressions, especially Silas himself (which his own inner turmoil- which I won't give away.) Also, I felt that the ending was a little rushed and it seriously could have been drawn out to fully capture their relationship issues/ or at least included an epilogue.

You must read book 1 first .

Yes. I read book 1 first. I didn't review book 1 as I wanted to read both books before I made a review. Overall I really liked the story of Silas . The authors made him initially appear to be a bad guy and then the story evolves in many unexpected ways with a few twists tossed in to really ramp up the story . Yes , there is sex . Silas is a kinky dude but the kink stays mellow ( except for one scene that I will not elaborate on - just ...yuk ). The books do contain editing errors . The first book maybe 4 . The second book was edited great until the last third of the book and then whoa...people ... proofread your book . There's a few errors , leaving words out , switching words around , nothing terrible but to an avid reader it's something that should not happen more than once . Well enough of my bitching . I recommend this book anyway ! The story is really good and I do look forward to reading more from the authors . 😷

Part 1 and part 2 were great stories- It was an interesting storyline, with for the most part likable characters. Amazing smexy times!

There were a couple scenes/events that took place in the story that were completely unnecessary, didn’t make sense or bring any value to the storyline. So they just felt like filler nonsense to make the book longer.
The big thing that I didn’t like was the editing! It was atrocious! There were mistakes (typos, missing words from sentences, unconnected statements from the characters) all over the place! It was hard to ignore when I kept spotting them in almost every chapter.

Trying to overlook that, the base story was enjoyable, hot and had some good twists and turns.

I gotta say this book had my emotions on a roller coaster... Up, down, happy, sad, pissed happy, etc. I hated Jasper so much, I was hoping for a 'Man Overboard' or should I say 'Woman'? Lol. Geez, could either one of them take any more on their plates? Poor Brennan, what a whirlwind of happenings... Jasper, Dad, Baby... And although I felt for Silas, I wanted to give him one swift kick... Was scared when he had to go back to the yacht! Happily, everything came together and my heart can rest easy now.

Could’ve probably been one book rather than two. Love the relationship Brennan developed with her father. Did not love that Jasper came into the picture and how Silas expected Brennan to be his friend. A good conclusion to the story.

Good

Let me start off saying I liked this book. However.... Silas pissed me off SO bad with his issue of doing “what was right”! Man! This character was an idiot! Flipping idiot! He redeemed himself.

Just OK

The conclusion was just okay for me. It was very predictable at times and nothing to get excited about. I did like getting to know Kassius. After that first scene in book one, I was pretty set on not having to read about him again. So he was a welcome surprise.

This book was good but, in my opinion, had too much relationship drama. Part One was better than this one, hence the 3 stars. But, I would still recommend. The ending was nice.

Another sad 2.5 ⭐️ experience. Why would I read this after the first one was so mediocre, you ask? I don’t fucking know. I’m a glutton for punishment I guess.

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.

Jasper’s ex girlfriend got aboard the ship and dropped a bomb on him.Silas wants to be with Brennan so he talked her into having dinner. Brenna was not good at dealing with it so she decides to leave the yacht when everyone else was getting off the boat but her friend Seth called after her. Seth gets a call and tells her that he had to go back to the yacht. Meanwhile a Black Mercedes pulls up and the driver told her he was there to pick her up. Inside was Silas and he was trying to soothe her. Brennan was cleaning the rooms and as told to the Lairs was the last. She had her earphones on and didn’t look as she walked into a class. There she sees Jasper being bent over and Silas behind her she turned around and leaves. Kassius see her and grabs her to talk. Brennan was glad to see Silas’s cousin. Brennan goes to get her head clear and swim for awhile. She turns around sees Jasper. There a point where she sees Jasper and Silas having a conversation in the hallway and Brennan started to leave when Jasper tells Silas he has to make a choice between her and Brennan. Silas was caught between a rock and a hard place. Twist and turns this book will keep you intrigued.

Omg i waited so long to get part 2 that i reread part 1 again first. But part 2 didnt disapoint i love these characters so much they have so much to say. They play hard but love harder(eventually). Silas just melts me and Bren is his perfect woman if only he could see it. Jasper plays her part well. But for me i want tp see a book for Kassius. He has such a good kind heart and needs his own Brennan.
This books takes on twists and turn i didnt see coming it was exciting on every page.

I hope all the cousins get there own lair books cos i dont think im ready to give up on the lairs yet.

Defo a must read great plot flows well and cgaracters you cant help but fall in love with. What more can u want.

This is the second part and final book in this love story.

I find Silas in this book is quite selfish in the way he tries to hold onto Brennan but still explore his relationship with another women.

I think I actually shed happy tears when Kassius finally talks some sense into him. If this book doesn’t make you tear up I don’t know what will. You will find yourself cheering for Brennan to finally get a life she deserves after all the pain she has gone through her whole life. I hope we get more from Silas and Brennan and the other Players Lair guys!

Brennan's heart is shattered as Silas appears to choose Jasper over her - but not is always as it seems. Then she finds out who her biological father is - and that he is dying, so she runs back to her childhood home to get to know him - and to try to hide her secret. Will she succeed? Or will Silas figure out what has happened? And how will he resolve the situation with Jasper? I loved the first book in this series, and this one follows seamlessly from where it ended - a great HEA ending :-)

Epic Duet

I read this first, and somehow it urged me to get to know more about the main character, so I read the first one. I was quite torn because I kinda hate the hero to be "not rooting" for the heroine since. But then, who is to judge when the second redeemed the hero. The plot is filled with emotion that will stir you up. Couldn't put the books down till the end. I would recommend reading them in order to fully appreciate.

ABSOLUTLY BRILLIANT. YES IM SHOUTING AGAIN BUT OMG THIS IS SOOOOOOOOO GOOD.
I couldnt put book 1&2 down. The storyline was so strong and the Silas and Brennan are wonderful character's. I found myself really hating and not trusting Jasper. But it was Silas who had all the power to decide who he wanted to spend his life with.
does he live in the past or look into the future????
AMAZING BRILLIANT OUTSTANDING

A phenomenal read! This book is a roller coaster of emotions – scenes will make you tear up, break your heart, laugh out loud, smile, scream, or just shake your head. Lots of drama, ups and downs but through it all, the connection between Silas and Brennan only grew stronger. This book (Silas – parts 1 and 2) is a really engaging, emotionally deep, and enjoyable romance and I strongly recommend reading it.

This is the second book in Silas (A Playboy's Lair Duet). Must read in order as this book starts right where we left off in book one. Silas is at crossroads as his past is back and he's mixed up with his feelings so much so it's threatening his future. Brennan is hurt and saying things she doesn't mean. Can she get over the betrayal of those she trusted most? Will they get their happy ending? Your going to have to read the story to find out.

I read like a crazy lady because I needed my fix. The wonder of what was going to happen and being on pins and needles about it.

Not going to spoil it. It's a duet that delivers all you crave in a romance...thrills, questions and answers, drama, potent emotions and situations that have you holding your breath.

You won't regret reading. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I was waiting for this conclusion and i was so beyond please with it! Brennan and Silas bring us a whole other side to them in this part. We see how far each of them is willing to go just to stay in the other's life while outside forces try to pull them farther apart. Silas really showed me what is takes to go for what you really want and Brennan was so strong though everything that was thrown her way. I loved this conclusion!! I can't wait for more from S.R. Watson!

I have been waiting for the conclusion to Silas forever!!! The cliffhanger from the book 1 was intense. Book 2 shows us Brennan and Silas each dealing with the ramifications of his past. We see the lengths that they each go to in trying to do the right thing. We also see the strength, passion and determination from them both. Book 2 was worth the wait and the writing is fantastic. Great flow and details all around. This one delivered a perfect mix of suspense, heat, heartbreak and angst!
