I liked this story for the most part. I liked Harper, she was feisty and independent. Darius wasn’t too bad but he lost points for being a turd and for mentioning his friends with benefits a lot. I get it you have lots no need to keep bringing it up. He won points for his apology. Admitting you’re wrong to a room full of strangers takes guts.

Safe. No op drama. H has friends with benefits and is a playboy. The h has dated but found it to time consuming with work and school. Neither are virgins. No abuse.

Loved Harper and Darius
Harper loves her job in Financial Crimes at the U.S. Attorney's office. She is going to night school for her master's in fiance, so she can do moore. She is intrigued by the cocky, charming and very hot guest speaker, Darius Black.
Darius at 24, saw his father and many of the senior brokers with his firm go to prison. He spent 5 years rebuilding the company, working closely with the US Attorney's office and earning a reputation for honesty in the world finance. He first lectures for his good friend on his experience. He catches the eye of a cute red head with hard questions.
The next class he lectures he enjoys Miss Harper McKay's attention. Is surprised to run into her in a bar later that evening, and the explorer their attraction, all night long. When morning comes and Darius finds.out who she works for he is convinced she is trying to get some sort on her and goes to her boss.
Harper being called to her big bosses office. Seeing Darius and having to explain, is the most humiliating and terrifying experience of her life. She feared for her job. Now she just hopes she never sees him again.
Darius knows he screwed up with Harper. He can't get her off his mind. He has a plan to fix it.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is book in the A Mr. Billionaire Short Story series written by a number of authors known as the Flirt Club. In this book, Harper is a student and works at the SDNY Finance Crimes. When Darius comes to her class as a guest speaker, Harper is instantly attracted to him. Darius had rebuilt his company after his father was arrested and jailed for financial crimes. Darius cleaned house and opened the books and does everything according to the law. When they saw each other in a bar after the class, Darius approached harper in hopes of convincing her to go home with him. The next morning Darius learns where Harper works and does not handle the news well. This was a good story. I really like how Harper stood up for herself and wouldn't allow Darius to bully her. I also liked Harper's boss and thought he was fair to her and understood everything. Good one.

Darius is a guest speaker and talks about how to work legally in financial companies. He uses his personal experience of his father being a criminal to show how not to do business. Harper works for SDNY Finance Crimes and is one of the people in the crowd asks him the hard questions. Sparks fly between them and Darius knows that he wants Harper. Its not long before they give in to each other and spend an amazing night together. However the morning brings Darius accusing her of trying to investigate and entrap him. Upset Harper leaves not wanting to see him again. What will Darius do when he learns he's mistaken about Harper?
This is a great short story that will keep your attention from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Mr Black is a short story that is a part of the ‘’Mr Billionaire’’ short stories series. This story is short, fast paced and a nice read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable.
Whilst guest speaking at a lecture, Darius Black spots Harper McKay. For a while, he tries to resist her but it isn’t long until he makes his move. Harper McKay is a twenty three year old student that also happens to work as a forensic accountant.
When Darius finds out about Harper’s job, he is angry. Without thinking about it, he hurts Harper with his words and nearly costs her, her job.
I love how feisty Harper is. She didn’t let Darius off so easily. She made her opinion and her anger known.

Our heroine works on crimes involving businesses and attends a lecture by our hero, whose father was arrested by the SEC.
This book is part of the latest Flirt Club series of loosely connected stories. Each book is written by a different, well established author but they all have a common theme. In this case, it is billionaires with colorful names.
Part of what I like about these series is that all the stories are very well written and this one is certainly no exception. Here we have two strong characters who collide based on false assumptions. The characters are well developed with solid chemistry and story that is engaging and sucked me in right to the end. There are a few bumps along the road, as well as some nice steamy scenes, but it all wraps up with a nice HEA. Overall, a highly enjoyable read.

I liked the the short storyline of Darius Black saving his father’s company in an ethical manner after his father was arrested and sent to prison for SEC violations. Years later while lecturing he sets eyes on Harper who unbeknownst to him works for SDNY Finance Crimes. There’s heat between the two in and out of the bedroom until he runs across her badge then there’s chaos.
Will he throw away a chance with her?
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.

This book has a man who has more than his fair share of conflict with the local DA’s office and through no fault of his own. His life experiences have left him not really believing in love and then he does a friend a favor and gives a lecture at a local college where he is challenged by one of the female students. There are sparks flying as soon as the two main characters lay eyes on each other. They both do a good job of trying to ignore and bury the fire that’s obviously there between them but ultimately fail. The plot is well written and enjoyable, the characters are adorable and there is a HEA for this couple who are a perfect match for each other. Short, sexy and straight to the good stuff!
**I didn’t know what bothered me more—that he was one of those guys, those arrogant, rich, guys who thought they owned the world—or that he made my blood sing and my heart pound and my panties wet.
This might be short but still has all the good things that I love in a good story... Intense attraction, steamy hot scenes, a little strife between the characters, and the HEA! Even though it was short, I still felt like we got to know the characters a little. All the trouble Darius had with his dad and company and how he over came those. Harper is a spitfire and is perfect for him, keeps him in check. Lol. I enjoyed it!

This one is hilarious! I loved it. Harper working for the US Attorney’s Offuce, specifically on financial crime, is partnered with Darius Black, whose father was independent cited for financial crime. And when he learned what her job is, he panicked and all he’ll break lose... for him of course. Everyone saw what he didn’t, he was in love with Harper. Though the resolution to his problem was indeed simple it was the most effective.

I enjoyed this short story, it had good characters, hot chemistry and a believable connection. The back stories to Mr Black and Harper was detailed and helped me to connect to them. I could totally see them as a couple and loved Mr Black's reaction to his feelings for Harper - the good and the bad! If at any point the author wanted to take this short and make it a full length novel, well I'd be up to reading that, no questions asked.

I give this ebook five stars because it kept me interested and on the edge of my seat with the romance between Darius and Harper. First thing is I love these names of the characters. They had a quick instant connection and passion ignited between them. But as all men have the tendency to be, Darius made a great mistake not considering Harper's instant attraction to him over all other issues. Sexy and enjoyable quick read!

Darius Black meets a firecracker after he lectures her class. Harper MacKay is a busy student and day job fighting financial crimes. One hot encounter leads to complications for her at work. Darius has a momentary meltdown and needs to make things right. Hot encounters and funny moments as he tries to apologize to Harper. I love her fiery comebacks and how she gives as good as she gets. Ms. Powell brought her A game too!

Mr Black by Laney Powell a five-star read that will teach you. Will the student become the master? If you have terrible parents does that mean you will be terrible as well? Let’s hope not as Darius seems to be the shining onyx in a pile of coal. This was fast paced and quick witted, spicy and amazing.

I really enjoyed this book, there was a good meaty story and I liked how there was a strong female character, who had the strength to speak up and assert herself.
Darius was a great alpha male and I liked how he wasn’t too proud to publicly admit he was wrong.

This is a well written, complex story filled with drama, misunderstandings, romance and steam. A great addition to the Mr. Billionaire Short Story series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Laney strikes again!
I am a big fan of Laney Powell from the moment I read Dear Mr. Shy Guy and I fell in love with the Spar Island Girls! As with all the girls, Harper is just as sassy and remarkable, a perfect mate for someone as powerful as Mr. Black! I hope this is not the last story for the Spar Girls!

Seriously Dirty
Harper has a plan with the financial crimes division of the US Attorney’s office but that plan almost get derailed when her one night with sexy financier Darius Black goes sideways. Darius us attracted to Harper on sight but when he learns where she works he jumps to conclusions and then has to try to win her back. This book is dirty and crazy fun.
