Isha has spent the last year watching his BFF get his happily-ever-after. He’s proud of Dom, but…it hurts to see him so free while Isha’s love life is still on lockdown. Only Isha’s ex-wife knows the secret that he’s kept caged for so long—that he’s queer too, and he’s lonely. Jude’s too chained to his work to notice what he’s missing by being terminally single, but a new face in the village soon catches his attention. City boy Isha is gorgeous, and when he starts to haunt Jude’s reptile shop as well as the hook-up app on his phone, he's a welcome distraction from Jude’s business problems. For a control freak like Isha, letting Jude under his skin is an existential meltdown, but Jude’s not in the market to be anyone’s queer crisis, not when he’s facing troubles of his own. Unlocking their lives could push both men apart forever, but it might be a risk worth taking if sharing is the key to their happy future.

"Tell me what to do,"he whispered. "Tell me what you need."
As usual Garrett Leigh keeps it real with two complex men who are very different yet ended up working so well together. The writing is on point as usual, the subtle British humour is present, and the inclusion of the two other couples from the previous books incorporated into the story perfectly. I wasn't sure, initially, but Isha and Jude as a couple slowly but surely worked their way into my heart and they're a close second to Lucky and Dom.
Ever since Isha was introduced in book one I've been more than a bit intrigued by him.A complete workaholic he doesn't ever seem to relax and enjoy himself.Firmly in the closest with only his ex wife knowing the truth about his sexuality he's only ever had hook ups with men and,as a result, has no clue how to process his feelings for Jude-preferring to push him away rather than acknowledge that there's something more than sex involved.I kind of got him.Yes,the way he went about things with Jude was beyond frustrating at times but I felt he genuinely just didn't know what to do with his feelings and then there was the problem of coming out to Dom and his children. ( a big shout out for his ex Mina,I really liked her and thank goodness for an ex wife who isn't portrayed as a villain)
Jude is a character who I loved from the very beginning. He has his problems to cope with but he tries to just get on with life.Devoting his time to his beloved reptiles in the shop he owns he hasn't had time or the real inclination for any kind of relationship. But with Isha things feel different from the start and it's not just the amazing sex.
(On the subject of Jude's medical condition I really commend the Author here.I've got a family member with this condition and it was very well portrayed.)
It takes them a while but eventually they get there. I adored the relationship Jude developed with Isha's children,it felt easy, natural and was totally believable.Jude and Isha seem to take two steps forward and ten steps backwards at times as they try and navigate their way through the complexity of their attraction and feelings but I really enjoyed their journey and the Epilogue was pretty damn perfect.I've really enjoyed this series and I'm hoping we get a little more from these men in the future.
Recommend Read.
An Arc of Jude was kindly provided to DirtyBooksObsession in exchange for an honest review.
This was really good, the safe bet I was hoping for when I decided to pick a GL book. It had that warm, cosy and tender feeling I get in spade in her stories, not to mention the hotness, always a bonus!!!
Jude (Lucky #3) had that dry and grumpiness characterization that I love attenuated by gorgeous kids, lovely friends and an understanding and supportive ex-wife. A perfect balance.
Have I mentioned the hotness??
I had one issue though: Isha. Isha was surrounded by good people (family and friends); therefore, the fact that he was so scared of coming out didn't play well with me. I found his stubbornness about facing who he was a weak development. That said, I liked it too much to give less than 4 stars.
I was a little hesitant to read this because I have little patience for the old push and pull trope and Isha being closeted was definitely going to bring all that. So colour me surprised that I actually liked this way more than I thought I would, even with Isha's ridiculousness.
I loved Jude, fell for him hook, line and sinker. Loved the Dom/Lucky cameos too and acutally ended up liking Isha. I like the way the author dealt with Jude's epilepsy - I lost a friend to epilepsy a few years back, he was only 40. Jude reminded me so much of him with his openness, friendliness and love of animals.
It’s a sad day when I have to give a Garret Leigh book less than 4 stars. My friends know how big of a GL fan I am and this is a series I really like. Plus, Isha was a really intriguing character. I should have loved this book but it was just ok for me.
It was also a hard book to read because I have a snake phobia (a legit, diagnosed ofidiophobia) and the descriptions were very, VERY detailed and vivid. This is not the reason for my rating, but I figured I should mention it in case someone is in the same place.
There is not much to say other than I didn’t manage to connect with the characters at all. More specifically, I didn’t get Isha and his reasons for not coming out sooner or for not opening up to his friends. I didn’t even get why he shut down Jude all the time. I just….didn’t understand that dude despite all the internal monologues.
Jude made much more sense to me and I liked him a lot. When I was reading his POV, that is. When Isha or his friends talked about him, they presented a whole different image of him. That was a little jarring.
Overall I felt that a lot of the angst or conflict could have been prevented at certain times. The characters would storm out or find a way to miscommunicate and avoid conversation, something that NEVER happens in a Garrett Leigh book.
The writing is great as always, the sex very hot and it was great seeing the other couples.
Bottom line, I was a little disappointed but it might be just me. If you ‘re a fan of the author or just the series, go ahead and add this to your list.
If Leigh writes a book, Sheri will read said book. It’s become a necessity and a matter of book law for me. This series has been marvelous. I truly enjoyed Lucky’s book and appreciated the second book, Cash. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect with Jude and Isha. Naturally, I was smitten and devoured it. I was rather surprised that the previous book held a subdued tone and I think this story maintains the same vibe. Garrett’s books always have a strong life force and this was a different sort of pulse than usual. The angst level never struck the red line, yet the struggles were still very real. Isha is a divorced father of two, still searching for his zen. He’s an astute businessman and compulsively addicted to his work. Sadly, he hasn’t been the father he knows he can be and vows to make changes when it comes to his kids. Jude shares his diligence when it comes to his job and takes it one step further. Jude’s life is his work and his work is his life. He may run a reptile shop but his true passion lies within animal rescue. Slithering creepy crawlers are certainly not my thing, but I can appreciate them from afar. Far far away. Behind closed doors, we witness what actually runs Jude’s life. Something beyond his control and something that leaves him powerless when it strikes. Jude has epilepsy. This disorder is actually something I’m somewhat familiar with on a professional level. Merely because the medications can cause an adverse reaction in the mouth. Gingival hyperplasia is a condition often caused by meds that treat epilepsy. But spending a lengthy period of time with someone who suffers from epilepsy is not something I’m familiar with. Garrett always takes me on new complex adventures that I treasure. Oh dear, it seems I’ve rambled off course. Back to it! So yeah, Jude is great. Isha is complicated…but great. And when they get together? They are beyond belief.
What's to like: I was thankful that the rest of the guys are still present and accounted for. One of the things I look forward to most in Garrett’s books is when we spend time with friends from the past. I’m so glad Lucky, Dom, Cash, and Rae all made solid page time. Jude knows Rae from crossing paths in the animal liberation world. They have pulled favors and relied on each other when needed. Jude is happy that Rae has found his soul mate but deep down, he misses his friend. Jude’s circle is tight and exclusive. He’s also overwhelmed with financial stress. When the sexy suit walks into his shop, he momentarily forgets his mountain of worries. He never dreamed the gorgeous dad had his own colossal pressures. THEN…a Grindr hookup brings them together once more. And everything changes. They are perfectly suited in the bedroom but can they figure out how to make things work in the grand scheme of things? Well, let’s see…..
What's to love: This love story is hard-won. Isha has forced himself into a place that is not…optimal relationship material. That goes for partner and father. Rather than face his loneliness, he runs from it. By throwing himself into work twenty-six hours a day, he is able to avoid the empty that awaits him. He has lovely children, he has an amazing ex-wife, and he has killer friends. But when you dodge the mirror, it’s hard to face anyone. Jude is *sigh* so wonderful. I adored his massive heart. I loved how he treated his animals and Isha’s children. I especially loved what the kids brought to the story. Epic kids. I respected Mina and found her place in the story refreshing. The sexy times were rugged but the heart-tugging times were remarkable. I could have been impatient or nervous…but I wasn’t. I knew everything was going to fall into place like it was meant to be. And Isha and Jude are simply, meant for each other. And I have a pretty good feeling you will agree.
Beware of: Internal battles are often the hardest fought but also the sweetest victory. Isha wrestles with himself and thankfully, triumphs. Patience is key; they rock, they twist, and finally…they turn. And if snakes and their reptilian friends give you the heebie-jeebies, well, beware.
This book is for: Ideally, I would say that Lucky fans would and should want to grab this gem. But in all honesty? I think this could be enjoyed as a stand-alone. Bear in mind you will most likely want to flip around and check out this gang from the start. They are all unique and shine in their own light. So grab it and good luck putting it down. Oh, and please tell Frances I said hi.
So good, this is Garrett Leigh at her finest giving us two complex men with real issues which mean the path to happiness isn't always a smooth one.
There's also, as with many books from this author, an exploration of some of the difficulties which can face people living with a disability. In this instance it's epilepsy and the condition is handled with deft care and attention to detail in how it affects Jude and his daily life.
I loved that Garrett gave me such a wonderfully nuanced character who lives with a condition that, at its most severe, is a threat to life - and even when it's not - has multiple complications which most of us would never even think of. I loved that he was more at home with his reptiles than with people. I loved that he did the best he could with what life had given him.
And Isha, oh Isha, how much did I fall for you?! Repressed, fearful, desperately trying to make amends for being a workaholic and afraid to tell his best friend Dom he's queer too.
Everything about Isha just pulled on my heartstrings, his stumbling attempts to be a better father, his inability to ignore that Jude made him feel things, his devoted friendship with his ex-wife which compounded the guilt he felt about their marriage failing, even though Mina is awesome and repeatedly points out he wasn't the only one who didn't love enough for it to work.
Together they stumble and fumble their way through insanely chemistry-filled, emotionally connected hot sex and into a sort of relationship but neither's able to say just how they feel as everything about their hook-ups change into something more.
This isn't as angsty as some of Garrett's other works, but there're still things not said and eventually all comes to a crashing halt when Jude's condition forces both men to confront their fears and hopes head on.
And again, I loved the way Garrett handled this, guiding the reader through the seriousness of what was happening but never pushing it into dramady and plot for plot's sake.
There are also wonderful guest appearances from the previous couples in this series and I liked seeing Rae in his role as Jude's friend, supportive and encouraging, while Dom was his usual awesomely grumpy but brilliantly loyal self.
And, as a PS, the epilogue in this is bloody perfect but I want more! I really hope we get a book four, even if it's just a teeny novella, with the three couples in this trilogy as Garrett did with the Skins series because I'd love to see them all a few years down the line.

My Garrett Leigh fangirling is my own work as usual.
The Good: Hot Grindr hookup Hot sex Interesting pairing of MC’s (opposites) Reptiles The end
The Not So Good: Repetitive Both MC’s are often dicks Nothing much happens for most of the book…they hookup…they ignore each other…they hookup…they ignore each other (repeat for 100 pages)
Overall—while waiting for something different to happen, I got tired of these two & didn’t much care what happened with them. This series is very average to me. And not GL’s best work.
Audiobook: Shaun Grindell is great with dialogue, but his staccato-ish narration isn’t my fave during expositions and interior monologues.
My rec? It’s on KU & Hoopla, so there is not much to lose if you give it a shot. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Garrett Leigh gives us two complex characters in Jude and Isha. Two men with established lives and pasts who come together due to fate which has a habit of complicating lives.
I really appreciated how these men were portrayed. They both had responsibilities, reservations, and a tough time talking about their feelings. The sex was off the charts hot. But watching them resist and then slowly accept their emotional connection was a real treat.
Another real treat was a decent ex-wife and a couple of cute kids. GL also seamlessly incorporated the two previous couples in this series into this story.
It can be easily read as a stand alone as all the other books in this series can. I always take a wonderful vacation to England with each of Leigh's books.
I was looking forward to Isha's story, but I ended up liking Jude much more. He is a very interesting character. I liked how he cared for animals and he was wonderful with the kids.
Isha was a mess. I couldn't really connect to him and I didn't see a reason for so much drama on his part.
I also didn't feel their relationship. After they hooked up, I'm not sure when or why it started to feel more. There weren't many tender moments and most of the time they were either angry at each other or angry at themselves.
My favourite part was seeing Lucky and Dom again. I could definitely read more about them, just being happy together.
Wonderful re-read. Was just in the mood for Garrett Leigh’s brand of hurt/comfort and prickly English characters. This hit the spot perfectly. Cured my book hangover.
Initial review, first read sometime maybe in 2022?
Beautiful relationship between complex (but not too complex) characters, lovely subtle inclusions of the guys from books 1 & 2 and well-written kids that didn’t annoy me. Sensitive and what felt to be an accurate portrayal of a chronic health condition. Loved it.
Bonito.
I actually ended up enjoying this one more than I initially thought I would. Because snakes. Actually, snakes, bearded dragons, leopard geckos... you name it and in case you're wondering, I'm not a fan. However, I did end up learning a couple things about these creatures and I always enjoy that.
In true Garrett Leigh fashion there is much angst and pain in Jude and Isha's journey. Isha is queer and in the closet to everyone except his ex-wife/best friend. For years he's been perfectly fine with his occasional Grindr hookups then along comes Jude and throws everything off-kilter.
Jude is a struggling pet shop owner and a bit... eccentric. I actually really like Jude but he does have a hard time communicating as does Isha which makes the push/pull extra push/pull-y.
See the rest on the blog then later here.

After the rather (for me) disappointing book 2, this was exactly what I had hoped for!
We get two very different guys here. Isha is a high-flying business man with two kids and an ex wife who is his BFF. Although his best friend (Dom from book 1) is gay and has come out, Isha has remained closeted, satisfying his need through hook-ups. Jude owns a shop for reptiles, is pretty much broke constantly and tells himself that he is happy being alone. Having to cope with epilepsy also doesn’t help.
While their life situations cause a little bit of unease, I loved the emotional pull and push here. Isha and Jude recognize the connection between them when they meet for a hook-up, but neither man wants to acknowledge it for different reasons. The increasing pull between them is virtually tangible. But while their hearts scream a resounding YES, their brains go No.No.No!
As for their bodies – well, it seems that they have ‘a mind of their own’ and know that they click! This is certainly one of the hottest books Garret Leigh has written. The steam and sizzle is off the charts, guys!
I am not a huge fan of kids in romance, but here I really enjoyed it, particularly as the interactions with Isha’s children aid to the development of the men's relationship and doesn’t take over.
I was excited about this book but a bit hesitant. In this Jude owns a reptile business and I also have owned a reptile business. I was super excited this was his career as I have never read that in a romance story before but I was hesitant because I thought the author may mess up story in regards to reptiles (I've read some really wrong stuff over the years). As it turned out she did a great job with this aspect. Jude's passion for his animals jumped off of the pages and made me instantly love his character. The information about animal care was vague enough to not get things wrong but detailed enough to show the author did her research (or owns reptiles herself). I loved everything about this aspect of the story.
The relationship part I wasn't as smitten with. I loved Jude from the minute he came on page but I struggled with Isha throughout. I just couldn't understand him. The fact that he was no longer in the spotlight and his four best friends were queer made me not understand why he was so afraid of coming out. His ex-wife already knew and was accepting so I just couldn't see what was holding him back. His hot and cold behavior got on my nerves and I felt he was mean to Jude in his treatment of him. He only comes around after a huge issue. I got to the end of book kind of feeling Jude could do better.
Despite my misgivings about Isha there were a lot of things to like about this book. It was super steamy and those parts were great. There are quite a few scenes with the two couples from the previous books which I was happy to see. Isha's ex-wife was lovely and it was nice to see a female ex not portrayed in a bad light. I also thought Isha's kids were done well. Not precocious or over the top in any way. Just two every day kids.
I liked way more about this book than I disliked so it is a definite recommend from me.
The last book in the series missed the mark for me, so I went into this book without any expectations, good or bad. But, almost from the beginning of this book I knew it was going to be different. That it was going to work for me, it had a vibe to it. It spoke to me and I got invested in a way I never got with Cash.
Isha; closeted and bisexual and father of two adorable kids. In the past he hasn't exactly been the father of the year - being too busy working. However, he's trying to change and a step towards that is organising his son's eighth birthday party. Well, that and his wife isn't going near it as it's going to be held at a local reptile shop. Isha's not a fan either, but he figured it was high time to step up. Little did he know that that shop and its owner would turn his would upside down in more ways than one…
Isha and Jude had some major chemistry, in and out of the bed (or whatever surface they happened to be on). It was tangible and there from the start. Jude had this kind of energy that really drew you in and held you captive. Everyone around him couldn’t help but to gravitate towards him. Me included. I wish that there had been much more focus on him in this book, but that might just be me being greedy.
Isha was without a doubt my least favourite character in this book, I never really warmed to him. He was a hot mess to be honest. He was constantly running hot and cold. Running from everyone and everything. From Jude, from his kids, from his friends. But mostly running from himself. From who he was and what he wanted. I don’t mind that as such, but at some point it gets tedious, not going anywhere. I needed him to stop running, and be the adult he was supposed to be. I don’t mean coming out by shouting it from the rooftops or anything major. But stop hurting everyone by pushing them away would be a good start.
I hate that he ran from his kids, that he didn’t even know them. That they never really counted on him. Expected him to ignore them when he was there. That he was so insecure and unsure in regards to them. It’s also one of the things that made me connect to this book. The characters were flawed, and in Isha’s case, majorly so. They were human and it made me believe in them.
Despite my dislike of one of the main characters, I still enjoyed this book quite a bit. I did read most of it in one go after all. Wanted that happily ever after for Jude mostly, but also wanting to see Isha change and be truly happy. And going by that epilogue, Jude had some major impacts on the entire family ;)

Jude is classic Garrett Leigh. Leigh always does a fantastic job at writing flawed characters, and this book was no exception.
Things I loved:
- I enjoyed the relationship development between Jude and Isha's children.
-Jude himself. He didn't allow his disability to take over and instead continues with life as best he can.
-Mina. Thank you GL for not portraying her as a harpy.
And while I liked Isha, I did struggle with him a bit, plus, the push and pull also became frustrating for me. Push and pull is not always a favorite of mine and for me, it grated on my nerves some between Isha and Jude.
All in all, this was still a solid read. Jude was a nice addition to the series, and a great series overall.
I don't know if it was me but this book felt really different from what I'm normally use to from Garrett, don't get me the wrong, this is not a bad thing.
Jude is the story that I wanted since Lucky came out. I felt drawn to Isha since he was first mentioned and wanted to know more of his story.
Jude and Isha come from two very different worlds and have lived very different lives. While jude is a young man that struggles to keep his business afloat but always giving his reptiles all the love and attention they deserve, Isha is an older divorced man, always working to make more money and struggling to provide the attention his kids need.
Like I said in my first comment this story is a bit different, more quiet and with less darkness or drama. The romance takes some time to build but once these guys get there you take a relieved breath
The character's storylines wete definitely interesting, I really liked getting to know Isha and his family and friends as well as learning about Jude's condition and his reptiles.
The relationship between Jude and Isha's kids warmed my heart, he was not trying to get to the dad by being nice to them, he genuinely cared for them and was just being himself.
I am left with a nice warm feeling after this story and I wouldn't be mad to read another one set in this series, or maybe a novella for all couples.
I stayed up late last night to finish this. So worth it 🤩
Jude and Isha’s story definitely was less exciting and drama filled as Rae and Cash’s. But I enjoyed this change of pace. This was simply a beautiful love story between one man and another.
The only thing was it was rather predictable. We all knew when Jude’s seizures were gonna hit. 🙊 But otherwise, it was a captivating love story I didn’t want to part with. Even with the predictable parts.
Such is the mastery of Garrett Leigh. Dreamy sigh... 🥰
This has to be my favorite from the series so far!
I loved Jude so much and Isha and his kids.
Jude's and Isha's sexy moments were so hot and their chemistry was so good, I loved it a lot! Despite both of them being cautious of what they felt and Isha still being closeted, the way they cared for each other and they could not stay away and Isha being worried about Jude's disability, all of it was very well written. It frustrated me at times, especially Isha but I loved them.
Isha's kids got attached to Jude so fast and that was so cute.
This was another good book in the series. I liked it better than the second book, Cash but didn't feel the same devotional connection as from Lucky. GL writes good emotional characters but of the two MC's, Isha seemed unfinished or still unknown in this book. Even in his head it seems like half the time he didn't know what he was thinking or how to finish thinking it.
Isha finally got his story and Garrett Leigh did it very right.
As the third book in the series, we've seen Isha go from a footie manager and best friend to a person you can count on and want in your corner. So, I was thrilled that he got his happy in this story.
Jude is alone. He's got friends, yeah. He owns his own reptile shop and he's got a ton of snakes and lizards and geckos, but really, that's it. He works too much and makes nothing extra. When Isha walks into his store to set up a birthday party for his son, sparks fly. But Isha is very much in the closet. Even though all his friends are out. And Jude won't be a secret forever.
I loved the private side of Isha that we saw here. He was trying to become a better father. He was determined to keep his promises. He wanted to be good enough to deserve someone to love. His strong will and determination worked against him for a while, but when he finally figured out what he wanted, he went after it.
An MC with a disability is always an enhancement to the story when done well and Garrett Leigh is masterful at writing this trope. Jude was embarrassed and angry and resentful, but he was surrounded by so much love and affection. Everyone wanted to take care of him and it was really sweet.
This story got me in the feels and really had me at the end. I felt like there was more sweet in this story than angst, which is a bit different for this author, but oh so perfect. A great addition to this series.

The previous book in this series didn’t really work for me, but Ms. Leigh is back on track with this story. Her stories deliver complex characters and British humor and tone, and I just knew the last story was a fluke for me.
We met Isha in the first book. It was easy to feel for him and what he was going through. He was a closeted workaholic who only shared his secret with his ex-wife. His experience with men to date has been strictly hookups, so he is a bit lost when it comes to actually having feelings for one. His floundering (while annoying at times) was completely understandable given his circumstances. I didn’t fall in love with him, but I totally got him. The secondary issue he faced was his children and trying to be a more present figure in their lives. This is what ultimately leads him to Jude’s front door, or his shop to be more exact.
I loved Jude from the get go. He was coping with his disability and devoting time to his reptiles and shop which left him little time to explore any type of relationship. That all changes when he and Isha figure things out. They share some amazing chemistry, and it was fun to watch it become more. This story switches POVs, and I admit I looked more forward to Jude’s side of things. He totally made this book worth it to me.
All in all, this was a nice installment to get this series back on track. The writing was enjoyable, with the added bonus of cameos from some of the other characters. I’m looking forward to seeing with Ms. Leigh comes up with next.

Jude by Garrett Leigh was an anticipated book I dearly enjoyed. Those who have read Lucky and Cash will probably remember the book’s MCs, briefly mentioned before but important for the pretty colorful group. Leigh nails it again with her talented descriptions of living with a (neurological) disorder. Jude is dealing with epilepsy and we have neither a glossing over nor is it catastrophized. It’s simply something the person is living with it. I really loved how Jude was displayed in his job running a shop where he seels reptiles like snakes and lizards. You really can see that the author knows a lot about the animals and that they are dear to the author's heart. I liked the warmth he showed towards them and how connected Jude is to them - something he can't say when it comes to other human beings.
Jude has due to his personality but also his neurological disorder, his epilepsy problems with connecting with others, with truly let them into his life. Rae is the only one who is the closest to a best friend he has and when Jude meets Isha through a suprising event - Isha's children need a place to held a birthday party but also an unfortunate Grindr hookup they can't deny their attraction for each other.
Another major part the book dealt with were Isha’s struggles due to his hidden bisexuality.Isha is just out to his ex-wife and hides his sexuality - even to close people in his life, who doesn't have the need to judge, like Dom.
I enjoyed how we saw Isha as being attracted to Jude, how we also got an insight on how he is as a father, and despite some flaws he has, he is caring for his kids and cherish the ground they walk onto. I was hooked by the gentle scenes, not just with him and his kids but also when they added Jude to the mix. You can easily see how well they balance each other out, how Jude is good for Isha and vise versa. But, as in almost every book by the author, the characters have to believe in themself to be worth to be loved to love others and to let it happen.
Realistic and raw, this book touches you deeply and leaves an impact. 5 out of 5 stars.
Garrett Leigh has a way with her characters and her words and I can easily be drawn into her books, especially this world she has created. We met Isha in a previous book in the Lucky series and know that he is close with Dom, Lucky, Cash, and Rae, although he is much more controlled and much more closed off. The relationship between Isha and Jude is new to this book, but the other characters from the series are visible as are links to a larger storyline and it definitely added something to have read the previous books.
The guys are both somewhat set in their ways and there is nothing easy about their relationship. With so much going on with them, including Isha struggles and Jude’s financial issues, this was not a relaxing read at times, but that speaks to Leigh’s ability to create realistic characters. But, the ending shows the men to have a great love for each other. If you enjoy Garrett Leigh’s writing and have enjoyed this series, you will want to check out another well written addition to this world.
Oh the angst and the self-denial in this one. Isha is definitely one to bury his head in the sand. He barely wants to admit to himself that he's bi, and as long as his meetings with guys are only one nighters off of Grindr he doesn't have to deal with that part of himself. But the random connection with Jude and one night becomes more and it's more than he knows how to deal with.
I loved Jude. His love of his reptiles in his shop and how he deals with his epilepsy made him a very charming character. But since both he and Isha were on the brusque and don't talk about our feelings side, it made communication between the two of them nigh on impossible. Neither one of them was good at opening up to the other so a whole bunch of this story is misunderstandings, or angry outbursts coming from bottling up those things they should have said.
I enjoyed this story, and was cheering for these two to find a way to work everything out between them. I wanted Isha to have the strength to own up to his feelings and open up to those close to him. Ultimately the ending was very satisfying even if there was some moments in the middle where I wanted to smack both guys, but mostly Isha, upside the head.
Jude is the third book in Miss Leigh's Lucky series and my favorite yet because the pairing was deliciously unexpected. As with most of this author's works, fans of the series can expect to catch up with previous couples, but Jude can read as a standalone. Boasting plenty of the author's hallmark raw emotions, this romance had my full attention cover to cover.
When I first met Isha in book 1 of the series, I had never guessed he'd get his own book but I'm incredibly glad he did. Closeted to everyone but his ex-wife, Isha meets Jude on what was supposed to be a one off and sparks fly. I loved these two together, especially how seamlessly they fit in all aspects of each other's lives, despite Isha initially trying to keep things separate. I also really liked seeing both men grow and expose their vulnerabilities to one another, gaining strength in the process. And then there was the chemistry. Jude and Isha had it in spades, the sexy scenes were smoking from the start and that only amplified as the emotional connection spilled over. However, it was those subtle moments that spoke of the building love for one another that really got to me. Jude is an easy recommendation for me.
