Time and tested plot in HP; pregnant h running off from H due to some misunderstanding and having a baby in secret. My favorite plot is a secret baby one and I was fairly eager to read this book. Book was fairly fast paced, intimate scenes well written, baby suitably cute but I am giving only 1 star. That is because of the main characters; H is ok, standard rich as Croesus, businessman with the requisite nasty family. Ms. Brock went one better and the twist with the H's sibling was unexpected and very well done. The h, however, was characterized as a very annoying, shrewish female who was constantly jumping to conclusions. She was forever ready to believe the H capable of all manner of nefarious deeds. I seriously wonder why the author even portrayed her as loving the H when to hr mind, he was capable of infidelity, criminal behavior and other random acts of villainy. Story had amazing potential but h's character spoiled it for me.
Jaco Valentino and Leah McDonald have been lovers and she has dreams of a future with him, until she finds him on video chat with a women he sends kisses to. So Leah runs away and Jaco does not pursue her until he finds out she gave birth to his son. In the middle of a dangerous situation, trying to bring to justice the family that killed his parents, he kidnaps here and his son and takes them to his island. She knows nothing of what he is doing so needless to say they butt heads. Ms. Brock always delivers a great story and this another example of a true romance, loved it and you will too.
There are twin sisters. Harper and Leah MacDonald. Harper is the Good Twin and one who is also good, kind, sensible, hardworking, trustworthy, selfless, caring, loving and self sacrificing. She can be found in Mills & Boon : Vieri's Convenient Vows.
So that leaves us with Leah…. the not-so-good Twin. The way Leah is introduced in that book leaves us with the impression that she’s the total antithesis of a typical M&B Heroine……….. - Leah works as a Hostess in a nightclub - Leah enjoys drinking - Leah has no respect for the time difference between US and UK - Leah is shown to have mercenary traits - Leah has a flirty confidence - Leah is well aware of her assets and knows how to use them - Leah knows how to bat her eyes seductively - Leah would have agreed to anything for money - Leah disappears with THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS - Leah’s sister Harper thinks that she’s stupid and totally irresponsible - Harper ends up trailing after Leah trying to keep her out of trouble - Harper invariably steps in to sort one of Leah’s messes - It was typical of Leah, to get involved in a stupid, crazy scheme that brought nothing but trouble for those all around her, especially herself - Leah did all the wrong things for the right reasons - Leah loved to stir things up - And this one takes the cake…. “she evoked this hugely protective instinct in Harper, as if she had been put on this earth solely to save her twin sister”

After reading this, I was really shocked to see that Leah got her own book. I was anticipating reading about which tack the author was going to take to explain away the negative impression about Leah. I really thought that we were going to read about a totally transformed Leah……. And what do we get???? Not only is there no explanation or transformation…… The Heroine doesn’t have a single redeeming character. In my opinion she goes from bad to worse….
This is the story of the other twin, Leah. The first one, Harper, was featured in Vieri's Convenient Vows. Leah is more of a wild child - I really liked her. Great read - would recommend.
When Jaco Valentino discovers he has a son, he’s determined to find out why Leah McDonald never told him. However, first he must protect her and their son from things that are happening in his life that could turn out to be dangerous. Yet, when the danger is over, will Leah give Jaco a second chance or will she walk away from him again? Read More
Oh dear! This could have been a fabulous story with a better heroine. Leah was the most unpleasant, suspicious, distrustful, cruel heroine I’ve come across in a long time. She left the hero without any attempt to find out the truth, kept his son away from him and basically treated him as if he was the lowest of the low- when in fact she was an unpleasant, miserable, uncharitable bitch.
In contrast, the hero was lovely - protective, sensitive and caring. Despite seeing all of that for herself, Leah still treated him like dirt. Yes, he was an idiot for not telling her the full story from the beginning but he didn’t deserve her contempt and anger.
A more fully fleshed out heroine old have made this a brilliant story because everything else was fabulous.the author can write really well but she failed with the heroine in this book.huge shame!
There is a lot of angst in this fast paced, sensual story, a heroine jumping to conclusions and a hero who is on a secret mission, will Scottish born Leah McDonald and Sicilian billionaire Jaco Valentino find their way to love and happiness?
Leah met Jaco at her twin sister’s wedding and hit it off instantly, a very sensual affair was very much enjoyed by both although Leah and Jaco didn’t spend all their time together, Jaco was always off on business but when she discovers what he has been up too she runs with a secret into hiding, only to be discovered and kidnapped with their son Gabriel. Leah is furious but she cannot control the need, the pull that she has towards Jaco but trust is hard to come by for her.
Jaco has built a good life for himself after what he and his brother have been through and he is working on a mission that is dangerous to all who are close to him and when he discovers that he has a son, he goes after Leah to keep them safe but can he control his heart, this beautiful fiery woman does his head in and his heart.
This one moves fast and the sensuality between Leah and Jaco is hot but so many misunderstandings and there is also the issue of trust that needs to be overcome and of course opening up about secrets, before these two can open up about their love for each other. This is a great story, fabulous setting and great hero and heroine, thank you MS Brock another story that left me smiling, this is one that I do highly recommend.
I like Andie’s writing and her latest book hasn’t disappointed. I was interested to see that Leah is so different to her twin sister, Harper. Leah is much more fiery with a good deal of impulsiveness about her. I can see why Jaco found her so infuriating. Jaco and Leah make a good fit - both having had a troubled up-bringing. They will be good together and will make sure that their son, Gabriel, will have all the love in the world.
If you crave drama, angst and more drama in a romance novel then picking up a copy of Kidnapped for Her Secret Son by Andie Brock will definitely fill that craving. This second chance, secret baby romance is intense and sizzling but—the ending between Jaco and Leah’s love story is littered with emotional turmoil. It’s hard fought but in the end so worth it!
it's usually the hero who was acting really annoying but this time it's the heroine. she jumped into conclusion when she never knew the details, never askee for the detail. i was already so annoyed when she left him in prologue without asking for his explanation at all. she kept jumping to conclusions throughout the story. istg, she was so annoying. and he apologized at the end for what? she never apologized for being a bitch.
A decent second chance romance. Would have given 4 stars but the h annoyed me and the H was obnoxiously overbearing.
The opening of the book has the H breaking into the apartment of a new single mom, and having his henchman grab her from behind and cover her mouth with his massive hand. Freaking terrifying! Why would any man do this to the mother of his child if he didn’t have nefarious plans?!
That alone turned me off the book. There’s no coming back from that. The terror I felt from just reading it was enough to make me have him for life.
I give the h credit for trying to stand up to the h, but she became annoying with it after a while.
I like that the author gave the H a brother who belonged to the LGBTQ community. I just wish that Francesca had a more present role in the book.
Maybe Harlequin will give Francesca her own HP one day. A girl can dream. :)
Overall, a decent read. Not the best, but I’ve read a lot worse.
Danger, lies and tempting desire! I really enjoyed Jaco and Leah's story. If you read Andie Brock's previous book, you'll recognize Leah as the twin sister to Harper who stepped in to fill her shoes in a fake relationship with Vieri after Leah ran off with his money. It was fun to see her side of the story and to meet Jaco and see their chemistry come to life on the pages. Really enjoyed it!
Leah McDonald was really enjoying her casual fling with Jaco and wanted it to continue ... until she discovered she was accidentally pregnant! She planned to tell him, but mistaken assumptions led her to change her mind and flee her job and their relationship instead.
Billionaire Jaco Valentino is furious when he finds out from his best friend that Leah had his son and didn't tell him about it. Circumstances are in play that make it dangerous for them to be out in the open, so he whisks them away to his private Sicilian island to keep them safe until the plan he has in play comes to fruition. Will the time together flame their desire for one another again?
The title certainly covers all the tropes. This romance is typical Harlequin fare, but with a modern twist. The hero is a rich, powerful, autocratic Greek. The heroine is a feisty younger Scottish woman of lesser means.
He’s on the verge of getting his revenge against his adoptive crime family who killed his biological parents when he learns his former friend with benefits secretly gave birth to his son. He kidnaps her and the baby and whisks them off to his private island to keep them safe until the sting goes down. Of course, he explains none of his reasoning to her.
The modern/woke twist? The hero has a transgender sister.
This is not my typical fare. I read this for old time’s sake. I used to gobble up Harlequins as a teenager. Compared to other romances? 3 stars. For a Harlequin? 4 stars.
KIDNAPPED FOR HER SECRET SON by author Andie Brock is an October 2018 release by Harlequin Presents series.
Jaco Valentine found out that his ex-lover Leah McDonald had his baby so he kidnapped them and whisked them away to his secret island.
But would Leah stand for it? She needed answers and she needed it now! Why was she kept against her wishes? Or was it against her wishes? As she found out that the chemistry between Jaco and her still burned brightly!
KIDNAPPED FOR HER SECRET SON is a sexy and sensual romance. Author Andie Brocks took her readers on an escape to a small private island with this story filled with emotions. As a reader I stayed glued to the pages till the last page.
I really hated this one, the heroine was absolutely atrocious. Even if the hero cheated on her she had zero rights to keep his child from him. Then once he tries to form a bond with his son the heroine goes full bitch demanding he give baby to her and tells him he won't be in his child's life. She was just one of the worst heroines I have read in awhile. Hero was ok but kept things to himself way too much that, til almost the end. P.
I didn't read the sisters book but from what heroine revealed in this book about giving $30,000 to some guy at casino I disliked her even more. There was no really good explanation like trying to save a friend or something just that she used to make bad decisions. No thank-you to this heroine.

Solid 4 stars for Andie Brock's "Kidnapped for Her Secret Son." Secrets, and dangerous life situations being withheld from Leah doesn't absolve her trust issues with her baby Daddy Giocomo aka Jaco. Jaco has no idea that he is a father until Leah's twin sisters husband informs him 3 months later. Since Jaco is involved in a covert operation against the family that adopted him he kidnaps Leah and his son Gabriel to keep them safe. What he fails to do is let Leah know what is going on and she feels like he is trying to control her life. I liked this book. I picked it up and didn't put it down.

I didn't feel the love. How could I when the heroine and hero had a series of flings, one caused a baby. They were never in love or even in like.
I found the hero's backstory boring. I'm not a fan of entrapping people to be arrested. If the hero's family were big time drug dealers then catching them should be easy.
I did like the heroine was a good mom. In the sister's book the heroine was a flightly selfish person who caused her sister problems. Unfortunately, I grew bored with the storytelling.
3.5 stars. This second chance at love story had layers of revenge and many drama queen moments. I really liked the H, a typical alpha, tall, dark and handsome and I loved his importance of family. I found the h to behave very dramatically, she was quite exhausting in many scenes, loving him one moment and thinking him a member of the mob the next. A very happy ending for both Jaco and his sister as well as for Leah, Gabriel and himself.

Escape with this breathtaking second-chance romance!
Recomendada lectura 😉
Ivy H wrote: "I totally disliked this heroine and I stopped reading this when I realized that she was the scam artist/con woman sister of the heroine from Vieri's Convenient Vows. She had taken a LOT of money from the H of that book, to act as his pretend fiancee but then she went to Vegas with a gambler boyfriend who lost it all in a casino. The author tried to cover it up in this book by redeeming her but I couldn't stop hating her for what she'd done to her sister in that other book. And then there was the storyline about the H's brother who had the sex change. I just laughed when she thought that the brother was the H's girlfriend."
