"'Those snowflakes are the sand in our hourglass. Eventually, they’ll stop falling and then our time will be up.'"
Who'd have thought a snowstorm and being snowed in would be a good thing? Especially between two people who are obviously still hung up on each other? Well, Jessica Lemmon did, and I totally agree. This is a wonderful, heartwarming, second chance story.

"How could a man’s hand be sexy? Because it’s attached to the rest of him."
Ever since I got a first glimpse of Chase Ferguson in the first book of this series I was left wondering what would rock his world and mess with his Mayor-of-Dallas, nothing-can-rattle-me composure. He is kind of standoffish, and seems to be a bit cold at the beginning of the book. I am so glad Miriam is able to get to him like no one else.

"Whatever it was, she’d left a mark. An indelible one."
Miriam is a tough girl, with her own career and her own dreams and aspirations. She is stubborn, but she is also loving and kind. And yes, she still remembers Chase, but she has moved on and built a life for herself. Or maybe...

"Beyond attraction, his pull was more like gravity."
So Chase and Miriam met ten years ago during Summer in Montana and they had a Summer love of sorts. Everything was perfect. She didn't know who he was or what his aspirations were, and he wasn't thinking about it either. However, once reality sank in in his home state of Dallas, Miriam was sent home alone and heartbroken.

At first sight, they're nothing alike. The way they try to have something in common, the fact that his family owns an oil company and she's an environmentalist, understanding Chase sent her home for the right reasons but maybe he should just have asked her before... this all weighed on my heart a bit. The flashbacks of what once was were sweet and heartbreaking as well.

"Nothing mattered—not the past or the future—apart from the woman in his arms."
Chase and Miriam can avoid the past, walks down memory lane, and the 'what ifs', but they had it all once, and revisiting the past proves to be just the thing that kickstarts their future into their happily ever after.

Ten years ago, Mimi and Chase met while he was visiting her hometown in Montana. They had a passionate fling that lasted a few months and were smitten enough with each other that Chase asked Mimi to return with him to Dallas. But after an embarrassingly short trip, Chase decides it’s for the best if he let Mimi go and sent her off in a private jet back to Montana. Now Chase owns an extravagant mansion in the town where he met Mimi and opts to visit it alone for the Thanksgiving holiday. He knows Mimi still lives and works there, but color him surprised when they fatefully run into each other and old feelings resurface.

The plot was just ok. There wasn’t really much to it: they get stuck together because of the weather and are forced to face their feelings and then there’s some minor drama related to Chase’s campaign for re-election as mayor. Other than the animosity and unfinished business between Chase and Mimi, not much else happens so the story relied heavily on their connection and chemistry, and unfortunately, I didn’t feel it.

The initial separation was caused because Chase chose to make Mimi’s decision for her. He claimed he sent her home because he realized how unhappy she would be as a politician’s wife and that she belonged in Montana, the home she loved. He insisted she would’ve been too selfless and would risk her own happiness just to be near him, so he had to save her from making that mistake. Then later, Chase tells Mimi that he sent her home not to break them up, but to save them. That he fully intended on reconnecting later in life after things changed and they could better compromise.

I never saw any growth on Chase’s part aside from his willingness to admit that Mimi was always strong enough to be in his world. He never once considered moving to Montana to be with her because his desire to be the mayor of Dallas was stronger than his need to be with her. Chase sacrificed nothing while Mimi lost everything, including her self-worth. In my opinion, not enough was done to redeem the hero, so I couldn’t root for their HEA.

Safety note:

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I always enjoy reading Jessica Lemmon. She never disappoints me, always amuses me and her male characters are always hot and easy to fall in love with. A Snowbound Scandal was no different. I am so happy that I got the chance to read and review this wonderful holiday romance by a fun and fantastic author.

Chase and Miriam were just wonderful together. A summer full of fun and love ruined them for any kind of a relationship with others from the opposite sex. But, they had no choice but to stay away from each her. Chase cuts Mimi lose because he doesn't want to ruin her outlook on life, to put her into the spotlight and make her a part of the circus that his life and family is. It also didn't help that his mother didn't approve of her either. But, Mimi loved him and would have given up all that she knew and loved to be with him. Pushed away, she has nothing else to do but go on. And, she did. But, not without a lot of regret.

An unexpected meeting … a holiday that has Mimi feeling sorry for Chase … a freak snowstorm. All the ingredients for a perfect scandal … if the press found out about the Mayor.

I loved how Jessica Lemmon played all the conflicting feelings out in this story. Chase's regret, Mimi's hesitation. It made for just enough drama to keep you interested and invested in seeing where the story was going to go and who was going to give in first. Well, it kept me riveted to my chair waiting to see what was going to happen. And, the ending … yep, an HEA that truly had me smiling and cheering. Mimi may have started off angry and hurt but ended everything with pure class and style.

Kudos Jessica Lemmon for bringing us an interesting start to the holiday season.

A Snowbound Scandal by Jessica Lemmon is the second in her Dallas Billionaire’s Club series that features the high powered Ferguson family. As the title implies, this one has a forced proximity theme and is a second chance romance for a pair of lovers who had a summer fling that ended in heartbreak, with the chance to make things right.

Chase Ferguson is the mayor of Dallas. A summer fling ten years earlier has never left his mind, nor the woman whom he sent away. As a man with political ambitions and part of an oil conglomerate family, he couldn’t see how he could make things work with Miriam Andrix and her stance against big oil companies, something they could ignore for a few months, but not for a long term relationship. He figured it was best to break things off before they got too involved. He ended up becoming mayor and she now works for a conservation society.

The summer he spent in Montana left an indelible impression on him, and he ended up buying a lakeside mansion where he and Miriam had experienced some fun times. It’s now his vacation home, and he’s come for a solo Thanksgiving holiday. A chance encounter with Miriam ends up with her at his home, thanksgiving dinner in tow as well as a blizzard that keeps them trapped. It’s a chance to hash out what went wrong, and indulge in some steamy no strings attached sex, so long as they both know that it can’t lead to anything more – easier said than done. When scandal finds them, will it ruin their chance to try again?

"A Snowbound Scandal" turned out to be a disappointment for me, but let me start with things I liked about this book. I liked families of main characters. There were episodes that showed how they interacted and it was fun. Most of them seemed friendly and nice. I liked moments with Emmett and Chase’s sister. There is some promise for a nice love-story there.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t stand the main characters. Their ‘love' was completely unconvincing. I couldn’t believe in any emotion on their part. They had a holiday fling for a few months. Holiday romance can of course change into a real relationship, but in their case it didn’t because they broke up as soon as reality struck. Ok, scratch out that. It was the guy Chase who broke out with Miriam for some artificial reasons, that didn’t convince me for a second. Then, 10 years passed and they met again outside the door of a grocery store. Miriam missed him all these years in spite of how he treated her. He gave her a business card and of course she couldn’t resist calling and inviting him to a Thanksgiving dinner. He refused in a rude way like an arrogant jackass. Instead of delating his number from her phone and throwing away his business card, Miriam packed a Thanksgiving dinner and drove to his mansion in the middle of a snow storm risking her life. Then, they are stuck together for a few days.

Miriam had no backbone or common sense. The billionaire Chase was rude and had no seduction skills whatsoever. When I read their conversations I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes. I hoped for a warm, fuzzy romance and I found their story lacking. There was no sweetness or tenderness in their encounters. Some parts made me laugh out loud, they were so funny.

Overall, I hoped for a more romantic and tender love story. What I got was too cheesy and at the same time devoid of warmth and true romance.

I received "A Snowbound Scandal" from the publisher via NetGalley. I would like to thank the author and the publisher for providing me with the advance reader copy of the book.

Jessica Lemmon resumes her Dallas Billionaires series with this story of the honorable billionaire politician and the woman he left ten years ago along with his heart.

While taking a winter break at his Montana mountain mansion Chase Ferguson finds himself face to face with Miriam Andrix, tree hugger and his only regret. He loved her but left her to protect her from the very public life of a politician. Can he leave her a second time?

After running into Shane at the local market, Miriam has things to get off her chest. When she goes to his place on Thanksgiving armed with a full meal, she only wanted to deliver the food and say her peace. She didn’t expect to get snowed in with him for days much less rekindle their old flame but can it survive the scandal that’s following them?

Miriam and Chase are attractive characters, both strong and independent. They met and had a wonderful summer together in which a deep bond formed. Being forced into closed quarters it was easy for sparks to fly. I really enjoyed getting to know them during this cute, sweet and sexy story.

A Snowball Scandall is book #2 of the Dallas Billionaires series by Jessica Lemmon.. It is a standalone second chance romance, told from both points of view with a happily ever after, no cliffhanger.

GOSH....I can always count on Jessica Lemmon to get me out of a book slump, and A SNOWBOUND SCANDAL was exactly what I needed! After loving and devouring LONE STAR LOVERS, I've been dying to get my hands on Mayor Chase Ferguson's book. Long behold, when I saw it up on NetGalley I might have squealed a little bit, done a happy dance, and one-clicked read it as fast as my finger would click! From page one, I WAS HOOKED! I love a good second chance romance story and this one held my heart. Miriam or Mimi wasn't the same love sick girl she was ten years ago, and Chase wasn't the same "walk the straight and narrow" aspiring mayor. Getting snowed in on Thanksgiving was like jumping into a time machine, as the last ten years melted away and they were the same crazy in love kids as they had been that summer in Bigfork.

Oh my heart broke for Miriam and Chase for all of that lost time. Their chemistry was so electric and enchanting, I was hanging on every word, every touch, every kiss. I absolutely adored it! Jessica Lemmon knows how to write a romance that keeps me turning page after page, and falling deeper in love with her charming heroes and headstrong heroines, I can't get enough!

I cannot wait for Stef and Emmett's book. I will be waiting not so patiently for it's release! An unputdownable addition to a must read series!

A Snowbound Scandal
3.5 Stars

A decade ago, Chase Ferguson made a devastating choice between the woman he loved and the career he felt destined for. Now up for re-election as mayor of Dallas, Chase is once again faced with a decision as Miriam is pulled back into his life. Will he turn his back on happiness or fight for what he truly wants?

Although the snowbound in a mansion plot is cute, and Chase and Mimi have fantastic chemistry, it is a little hard to believe that Mimi would forgive and forget Chase's rejection so easily. Moreover, Chase still has the bad habit of deciding Mimi's future for her rather than respecting her enough to accept that she is capable of making her own decisions.

Finally, the resolution is just to pat. Mimi suddenly has no problem pulling up stakes, leaving her close-knit family and a job she loves to relocate to Dallas?

All in all, not a bad romance and Jessica Lemmon's storytelling and writing are engaging. Looking forward to the final installment with Stefanie and Emmet.

Dear Reader,

Forced proximity is my favorite trope in romance! When I planned Chase Ferguson’s story, I wanted two things: a reunion with a woman he’d left behind, and an unrelenting blizzard that trapped them together. Even better? I set the book in Montana, in the drop-dead gorgeous mansion Chase visits when he’s not busy with his mayoral duties back in Dallas. The heroine, Miriam, is stubborn and willful, but above all else, she’s kind. She cares too much. So much, that fiercely protective Chase made the mistake of letting her go ten years ago rather than handing her his heart.

From fireside chats to soaking in the indoor hot tub to bonding over gooey grilled cheese sandwiches, we experience Chase and Miriam reconciling their past with the present one encounter at a time. They soon uncover that as different as they are, they still feel the same about each other a decade later. It took a few sizzling encounters for them to realize that beneath their strong physical attraction was real and lasting love.

Grab a cup of hot cocoa and settle in. I hear there’s snow in the forecast—a lot of it.

Happy reading!

A Snowbound Scandal by Jessica Lemmon is book Two in the Dallas Billionaires Club Series. This is the story of Chase Ferguson and Miriam 'Mimi' Andrix. I have read the previous book and feel this can be a standalone book.
Chase and Mimi had a hot, heavy and quick love affair, but Chase made the decision to step away to protect Mimi to protect her. But now all these years later they meet again with the same hot feelings. But will Chase choose her this time and can they work through their doubts.
Overall enjoyed this book and will look for more books from this author.

Ten years ago when they were in their 20's, Chase Ferguson had brief relationship with Mimi Andrix. However, oil industry was Chase's family's industry while Mimi was passionate about protesting against it. So Chase broke it up. Now, as Chase is up for re-election as Mayor of Dallas he found himself being snowbound with his old-flame, Mimi, when he visited his mansion in Montana, and Mimi came by his front door bringing him dinner.

I thought it was a nice forced proximity as well as second chance story. Because they were snowbound, Chase and Mimi spent a lot of times just the two of them together, and rekindling their passion. Of course real life is still waiting for Chase, he still wants his career in politics after all, while Mimi is working for conservation society. So they have to find a way to work it out. There's a cute "Notting Hill" moment in the end for the two of them.

A Snowbound Scandal is a second chance, opposites attract romance with lots of heat even though its a snowy setting. Chase is political and knows that Mimi would hate the spotlight that comes with politics. So, he cuts her loose. God save us from men who think they know whats best for women....

As you can imagine, Chase regrets this. Also, as I'm sure you can imagine, Mimi isn't exactly willing to trust him easily again. My heart hurt for Mimi. She really was willing to accept his life and be by his side but he took that chance from her. Now its 10 years later and Mimi is a bit jaded from the experience (and rightfully so!) and she and Chase are snowed in together. Chase did grovel well though so that helped and he really did regret his decision (it took him 10 years to grow up and man up). But, honestly, I still struggled with Chase. Maybe I was holding a grudge longer than Mimi?! Maybe I was just so protective of Mimi I wasn't willing to risk Chase hurting her again? Who knows!

For fans of second chances, opposites attract, and stranded together romance, A Snowbound Scandal is a great read to get you ready for winter! Its pretty short, full of heart, and enjoyable throughout!

You can't go back, you can only move forward. That's a mantra we all live by, in life and in love. Regrets. We all have them. A constant reminder of where we've been and where we're going. They help us become who we are. However, there are moments that become exceptions. What happens when your greatest regret becomes the link to your present happiness?

Jessica Lemmon takes a walk down memory lane with Chase and Miriam. They once had it all, until it all became too much. Can a chance encounter with the past guide them toward a future together? A Snowbound Scandal brings Christmas a few months early. The perfect gift all year round. A passionate tale of love lost and found.

This was a very enjoyable second chance story. Great writing and characters made this a memorable story for this trope. Chase and Mimi once had a hot and heavy relationship but Chase decided to walk away when it became clear life in the public eye wasn't for Mimi. Now they are both back in Montana and Mimi decides to go to Chase's house to confront him about the past once and for all. One little problem - a major blizzard as come through trapping them in his cabin. With no way out and nothing else to do they are forced to deal with the past as well as the sizzling chemistry that still crackles between them. Will they find a way to be together or will they end up walking away once and for all?

This is a well done book and definitely one I recommend.

I love holiday romances so much, and this one checked all those boxes. Chase and Mimi’s relationship isn’t perfect, and their forced proximity allows them to confront their true feelings for each other. While I didn’t love Chase’s gruffness at first, as the snow and his icy attitude started to melt, I totally saw what made him so charming to Mimi in the first place.

Four Stars as big as the State of Texas!!!
****

Jessica Lemmon is always an author I drop everything I am doing to read her book. Her latest endeavor, A Snowbound Scandal is no exception. This book is the second in her Dallas Billionaires Club series and is a reunion story of second chances.

I loved our main character, Chase Ferguson, who first appeared in Lone Star Lovers that dealt with his brother and his now wife, Penelope. Chase was an intriguing character in that first book. I knew there had to be a story to tell, and I was glad that Jessica decided to make her next book in this series about him. In Lone Star Lovers he was your classic handsome, smooth as glass, and just as polished mayor of Dallas. A man that any woman would want, but no one had been able to corral. You see, our Chase has a reputation to maintain, including keeping his life and his family squeaky clean, above scandal. But he also had a strong desire, almost a need to protect those he loves from the pitfalls of living a very public life.

Miriam Andrix is the love of his life and the girl he let get away. Chase broke up with Miriam ten years ago to protect her from his very public political life. A life he knew she could not handle, or so he thought. Now, through circumstances (I can’t say they were circumstances beyond their control), they are once more back together and stranded in Chase’s mountain home (due to a blizzard) that happens to be in the same town where Miriam’s family lives.

Now trapped in close quarters (I use the word “close” loosely because after all it is a mansion) the love, the passion, the hot steamy, sizzling sex they shared ten years ago comes to the forefront with a vengeance……both now trying to figure out exactly what made them break apart. And both questioning the reasons that caused the break-up.

In true Jessica Lemmon format the writing is crisp and clean, the banter saucy and witty, the sex too hot to handle. I loved the story, the coming together of two lost souls, who despite the gap in time, never really were apart and were never far from each other’s mind. My only complaint….the ending was a little too quick in its wrap up. After ten years apart, I thought there might be a little more “baggage” to deal with between these two characters. But despite that, A Snowbound Scandal is an easy read with two amazing characters who manage to find their way back home to each other.

She wanted forever, but he thought it would never worked out. He thought he was doing her a favor when he broke up with her, but he broke her heart.

"Sandalwood. Pine. A touch of leather... And eerily familiar. As was the voice that crashed into her like a runaway shopping cart."

It's been ten years and since then, Chase Ferguson became Dallas's youngest mayor. Miriam Andrix work for an environmental group. They were together only for three months, before neither forgot the other. It's easy to understand why Mimi thought he ended their relationship because his mother didn't approve of her. It was cool to see her express her discontent after he was rude to her.

"I'm here to show you that I'm no longer the besotted twenty-three-years-old you left on an airfield in Dallas. You may be a billionaire oil tycoon politician with a mansion the size of your hometown, but I became someone too."

But after giving him a piece of her mind, she end up stranded at his house by a snowstorm. Her sister mean well when she says: "Do not have sex with that disgustingly beautiful man, Meems. Remember, this is not a second chance. You're not trapped with him because fate said so, but because you're too stubborn to drive into a snowstorm to deliver the man pie", but she's also wrong. Only destiny could reunite two headstrong souls.

The hero made it difficult for me to be totally satisfied with the romance. Chase is not your cool, sweet nor smooth hero. He choose his career over her and to listen to his mother's opinion. He made a mistake and I could forget it but if only he had acknowledged it and did something to redeem himself. But he never did grand or small gesture (the thing at the end doesn't count for me). He should have been the one who dare pouring his heart out this time but he still hold back and it made me think that this time, he let his pride choose for him.

Not my favorite of the series, but I'm glad we had such a tease for the next romance. Emmett and Stefanie's love story will certainly be hot and explosive, just like I want it :)

"A Snowbound Scandal" by Jessica Lemmon Harlequin Desire

My Thoughts.....

This was a perfect sweet read as Miriam 'Mimi' Andrix and Chase Ferguson find their way into a second chance romance.

What had seemed for them 10 years ago [summer fling] wasn't to be but now Chase has come back in BigFork, Montana for a Thanksgiving holiday from his mayor duties in Dallas and who does he bumps into coming out of the whole food store? Well, it seems like fate will come for theses two as Mimi who was from BigFork ends up bringing Chase several slices of pumpkin pie which was his favorite [with dinner] and with a snow storm is coming up and one thing will lead to another... she ends up having to spend nights and days with Chase at his mansion. Why did Mimi feel the need to bring Chase Thanksgiving dinner? So, what will come of all of this situation as the reader will see that "from fireside chats to soaking in the indoor hot tub, eating some grilled cheese sandwiches [with no tomatoes for Mimi] and let's not forget the some hot steamy sex that seemed to rekindle their passion. However, will we see these two reconciling their past with the present in all that is going on especially with Chase since he was running for reelection?" When it seems like all is getting somewhat better for these two there will be a interruption that will bring everything to a stop. Will there diverse backgrounds still seem to be a problem for them as it was 10 years ago? How do these old problems still exist? This is where I say you will have to pick up "A Snowbound Scandal" to see how well this author presents this good story to her readers and all of the unanswered questions will be answered.

If you would like a story of a couple that were truly meant to be finally getting a second chance at love then this would be a definitely good read for you.

This was a fun second chance romance involving the Mayor Dallas and an environmentalist from Montana. Ten years ago they had a wild summer in Montana and fell in love and when Mimi followed Chase back to Dallas he realized immediately that was not the place for her and she would never be happy there and sent her packing back to Montana...all for her...and he would make the sacrifice to keep her happy. Ten years later a picture crosses his desk of her at a protest rally and may be used against him in his reelection. Oh the memories this brings back! Not only that but it is Thanksgiving and Chase is off by himself to his mansion in Montana and after a chance meeting outside Whole Foods Mimi finds out Chase is there and alone. She cannot get him out of her mind and since he refuses to come to dinner, she takes dinner to him, and, of course, a blizzard is happening and she is stranded for the holiday weekend. All the feels this inspired being stranded and ultimately seduced had me flipping pages so fast I'm surprised my kindle survived it. These two are perfect together but will they survive the end of the weekend. Definitely recommend this one! Oh, not sure how I missed the book before this one but going to have to find it and there is one coming up. This can be read as a standalone.

When you pick up a Harlequin Romance you have a few guarantees -- something sweet and something that builds. A Snowbound Scandal is one of those books that delivers both. Miriam "Mimi" Andrix and Chase Ferguson are perfect paramours in this love story. They're perfectly matched in wit and banter. The build for their romance is slow and sweet, like the heat of a fire in the middle of an icy winter. Lemmon plays with one of my favorite romance tropes - trapped proximity. Because the two are trapped together to "weather the storm" they have to interact and when they do, the love they thought as lost begins to rekindle right along with the fire Chase's city slicker self almost smothers.

Because both of them are stubborn and can't say what they really mean, it takes the better half of the book to get more than a steamy kiss out of them, but once they do that, the book's slow build picks up a rapid pace. They only have until the snow melts, after all. I really liked how the author used the setting to both introduce the characters' pasts and reignite the spark between them.

Overall, this book was a quick and engaging summer read.

Since Jessica Lemmon has written two of my favorite books I was overjoyed to be offered an ARC of her new project, A Snowbound Scandal. It will be available via bookselling locations on August 1st. As I enjoy Ms. Lemmon's writing I wasted no time diving into this new romance. I'm giving you my personal reflections to hopefully give you a heads up. Summertime is drawing to a close and we need to make the most of our last, for awhile, vacay time.
In my humble opinion you can't go wrong with this book. Ms. Lemmon knows how to write a jerk character, troubled relationships and difficult happy ever afters. Our hero (?) Chase Ferguson happens to be the current Mayor of Dallas, TX and an heir to the Ferguson Oil Corporation. 10 Years ago, during a romantic summer holiday, Chase met Miriam (Mimi) Andrix and it was love at first sight on the beach. Summer lovin' leads to a trip to meet his parents (yep, it's that bad). 10 years later Chase takes a Thanksgiving holiday break back to the scene of the epic love affair. Running into Mimi was an accident, wasn't it? They reconnect during a blizzard and it gets pretty hot, no frostbite here. But all the old problems still exist.
Ms. Lemmon has written a story of first love gone wrong, second chances, snowed in sex (what else is there to do?), fear and compromise. As I always say, a happy ever after is a given, it's the journey that counts. You'll have to get the book to read for yourself the twist in our story ending. It's pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

I received a free eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was a very quick-to-read contemporary romance. It’s a second chance tale, with a cute HEA ending. I believe this is the second in the series, but it works as a standalone. I have never read anything by Jessica Lemmon before, and I followed everything in the storyline just fine.

That being said, while I don’t expect to be able to relate to the billionaire or super model looks aspects of characters in romance novels, I prefer to at least be able to relate to some of their decision making. Nothing in the first 80% of this book felt even plausible. I found myself doing a lot of eye-rolling and checking my Kindle to see how much further I had to go to be finished. If the story hadn’t been so short, I probably would have bailed. However, I will say that I did like the very end, realistic or not. To me, it saved the book, even if it was saccharine.

Overall, I would say this was a decent, but not exceptional romance novel. I might read another if I needed something short, didn’t have other options, and someone gave it to me, but I don’t think this is a series I will actively seek out.

In A Snowbound Scandal,  Jessica Lemmon crafts a beautiful second chance romance that hits all the right marks. Sexy hero? Check. Feisty heroine? Check. An tearful parting between two people who should be together?  Oh, yeah. I have to say a second chance romance & a snowbound lovers are two of my favorites, so rolled into one story put me in overload.

Miriam & Chase had a summer fling ten years ago that ended when they went back to their own worlds. He is the son of wealthy oil magnate in Texas & she's an environmental activist. Now they're in their mid-30s, They're still single, having never found anyone else to measure up. He is mayor of Dallas facing a reelection campaign with a ruthless opponent.  Miriam gets stuck with him in his getaway home (mansion) in her Montana home town.

Chase is a lonely man & I empathized with him right away. Miriam is just as lovely (to him) as she'd ten years before.  I enjoyed their surprisingly emotional journey back to each other.

I recommend A Snowbound Scandal.

Thank you, Net Galley for the opportunity to read and provide my honest review of this story.

I received this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

As the mayor of Dallas gearing up for a re-election campaign, Chase Ferguson has lead a safe life in order to avoid any scandal. So, naturally, his opponent in the election finds something to use against him. Deciding to head back to Bigfork, Montana, where it all began, for a Thanksgiving weekend alone, he runs into said something: former girlfriend Miriam. Bent on proving she's doing great without him, Miriam gets herself snowed in at Chase's mansion stubbornly trying to prove it. And the rest, they say, is the book! ;)

This is not the first book I have read by Jessica Lemmon, nor my first Harlequin Desire (although I usually don't pick Desire books, preferring the Intrigue or Romantic Suspense strains of the Harlequin universe). Both Jessica Lemmon and Harlequin didn't disappoint! If I ever want a nice, quick read while on a beach, on vacation, or on a long car trip, I can always depend on Harlequin for that.

For a quick read, however, the characters' personalities and backstories weren't skimped on, nor was the plot. It was engaging and hard to put down!

5 Stars! Loved it!

Now to try to find the first Dallas Billionaires book, and bunker down to wait for Stefanie's story!

Full review: http://sassfromthesouth.org/index.php...

I was the lucky recipient of a signed copy from a giveaway hosted by Lemmon back in June! While the book itself was a bit damaged in the mail, I still was beyond thrilled to find a few kind words waiting for me inside as well as some Lemmon swag. Thanks again!

I wanted nothing more than to dive right in…but I decided to be patient (not my best quality) and wait for the end of November. Finally, the perfect evening arrived and I curled up with a hot cup of spiced tea, some soothing piano music, and the new Lemmon read in the Harlequin Desire series. The stranded together trope is one of my favorites and after reading the first book in The Dallas Billionaires Club (Lone Star Lovers), I was eagerly anticipating peeling back a few layers from the ever-proper Chase Ferguson. So mix a perfectly timed snow storm with a second-chance romance…and you’ve got me hooked.

I adored Chase’s protective side and how well he really understand that is was going to take more than just charm to get Miriam (a.k.a. Mimi to Chase) to open up to him again. Miriam was stubborn but kind…a combo that was entirely endearing and I was certainly proud of our heroine more than a few times during this read. A Snowbound Scandal was a quick, sweet, and sensual book that was perfect for a much needed relaxing evening at home before diving back into homework tomorrow. I absolutely cannot wait to read the third book in the series (A Christmas Proposal), which just so happens to release December 1st…just in time for Christmas!

Pop over to Amazon and snag these wonderful reads to enjoy this holiday season! You won’t regret it!

I found this buried in my TBR and I might have been drunk when I downloaded it because I normally avoid politicians as protagonists in my romance reading. It's competently written and moves along at a good clip - I think this was my first read by this author and I'd read her again. That said, the pretense of the heroine showing up at the hero's mansion just before a snowstorm was pretty eye-rolling and her willingness to chuck all her ideals to the side because he gives her pants-feelings wasn't great. Also, I loved the hero's logic that because he was rich that made him a better choice for holding public office because he was more likely to "do good" and not be corrupt.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

This is my first book from Jessica Lemmon and I really love it.
A fast-paced sweet steamy second chance romance.
He's a billionaire and a very good Mayor and she's just a sweet country girl. They shared a heartbroken past. He thought he was protecting her by pushing her away and she thought he dumped her because she's not good enough in his world. So now when snowstorm hit them and force them to stay with each other the old flames start to crackling again, but will their love survived the snowstorm or they're too scared to repeat the past. Oh yesss loveeee the story, I can feel the heartbreaking and the struggles, although I wanted to slap some senses to Chase and Mimi most of the time, I can't not root for them, love this couple, from the banter to the steaminess, these two bring a big smile to my face. Can't wait to read the next book.

If you're looking for a fast-paced sweet steamy second chance romance, this book is definitely for you.

It’s a snow trapped second chance love affair ! Mimi and Chase are reunited during a pretty bad snowstorm & finally have a chance to rehash their broken relationship! It just so happens to take place in a beautiful mansion with plenty of angst between them to ALMOST drive the reader crazy with WANT for them to ignite! These two were both very headstrong so I was prepared for both to HOLD out on me! Lol
When it’s all said and done , the HEA WAS there in the end ...literally the end with a pretty grand public passionate portrayal if you may , running for mayor and all ! As usual , we have the typical Lemmon family vibes & cut throat matter of factly diaglogue happening. Good job & I’m so looking forward to the next one!
