Somewhere deep within the Amazon rainforest, plant life has been dying at an alarming rate; the spirits that inhabit the trees have abandoned the area completely. The leader of Reunion Arboleda, the closest faery gathering spot, has asked for help. The four Tulip Sisters join the team headed down to the forest for what they think will be a quick trip. It soon becomes clear that the situation is much more dangerous than anyone thought. A single act has resulted in consequences that reach far beyond the physical world. If the violation is not rectified, the devastation will continue to spread, and will affect more than just the natural surroundings. A plan is formulated that may avert the impending disaster, but there is not much time. All the faery folk of Reunion Arboleda must work together, but tensions among some tribes are high. And after an innocent but grave mistake, things only get worse. The Tulip Sisters can't allow the ever-present rain or unfriendly faery folk to slow them down. They must stay focused if they are to overcome a strange curse, malicious humans and even a threat from the Banshee herself. Before they return to Valentine Oaks, the Tulip Sisters will learn the forest holds more secrets than they realized, and the danger will hit closer to home than they could have expected.
I fall more in love with the Tulip sisters after each book. This installment takes us to the South American rainforest where the sisters help the local faery folk save their world from an environmental attack. A compelling look at the damage that can be done to an ecosystem by various means, and also the power of cooperation between different groups of fairies and humans to curtail that damage, the author weaves a story that keeps the reader engaged. The characters are relatable and funny. The relationship between the sisters is more loving and accepting as ever. Even when mistakes are made, the power of sisterhood and friendship always prevails.
I highly recommend this series to anyone with a child who enjoys books. I also recommend it to adults as well. Just do yourself a favor and read these books.
In Ms. Jean’s newest book, Behind the Forest Secrets, we are given another opportunity to join the Tulip sisters on a new adventure. The Tulip sisters leave their home in Florida and journey to Reunion Arboleda, which is located in the tropical rainforests. They were invited by the faery leader to try to help them figure out what is going on in the forest, because trees are dying. Once they arrive in the forest they find a beautiful faery gathering spot, the likes of which they have never seen. The sisters make new friends, learn about other customs and culture. The sisters also continue to work on their own strengths and powers. They also have the opportunity to learn from mistakes. The story really draws you in with the vivid descriptions, allowing you to picture the scenes. Throughout the book it keeps your interest in wanting to know what will happen next. The book is listed toward young readers but, it appeals to readers of all ages. If this is your first time with this author check out the first two books in the series.
