What if your deepest love became your greatest fear?
Allie loved to be near the water. Even before she learned she had mermaid genes, the ocean held the power to soothe her soul. Adria, with its miles of canals, should have been bliss. The chance to explore the city of serenading gondoliers with her boyfriend, Nate, might have been a romance vacation come true.
But Allie is desperate to find her mom who she holds responsible for the death of her twin sister, Alysa. Amid the distractions of one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Allie’s friends lose focus. After a strange series of incidents, they get kicked out of their hotel and end up on the streets. Soon an ancient foe pursues Allie through the city’s winding waterways.
Justice Rain, a famous rock star and student of her mother, invites Allie and her friends to stay in his sumptuous palazzo. But the generational bond that connects Allie to her destiny remains strong and life with one of the world’s top celebrities has complexities of its own. Justice hides a dark secret and Nate becomes consumed by jealousy. Meanwhile, Allie develops a powerful and inexplicable fear...of water.
Trapped in a foreign city and not knowing whom to trust, everything will depend on her penetrating to the mystery that lurks in the canals beneath the city’s oldest palazzo.
M.S. Kaminsky writes young adult urban fantasy and sci-fi with dashes of suspense, mystery and romance. His most recent release, The Mermaid Curse Series, reveals the enigmatic origin of mermaids in a gripping fantasy that spans generations of women.
When MSK is not writing he can be found with his husband attempting to tame the white water rapids of upstate New York or weeding in their garden. So far the rapids (and the weeds) are winning!
M.S. has been a lifelong writer. At four, he dictated his first short story to his dad before his hands were coordinated enough to hold a pencil. Today, his coordination is still questionable. However, his determination to write a good story remains just as strong as that spunky, four-year-old.
Hello is this working again finally OK your 2nd book? Is that good at the 1st lot? The twist of very surprising ending read it you'll like it on to the 3rd.
So many grammar mistake. It. was irritating to me that a professional writer would make such mistakes. Being a young people's book... taught poor grammar...not ideal.
Book 2 of the Mermaid Curse is a decent read but an element that kept me anxiously turning the pages of the first book, The Twins Of Atlantis, seems to be missing from this installment. I hope the author can reel me back with book 3.
