Cary and Jackson’s secrets are out, and both men are willing to break all the rules for the woman they love. However, the secrets, lies, and cravings that follow, fuel the embers inside Lauren into a raging inferno.
The darker side that is smothered by loyalty, sacrifice, and love, smolders . . . then burns into resentment, desire, and revenge.
Lauren may be forced to come to grips with the truth, to accept her fate, but you can bet, she will also make sure they pay.

After reading the first in the series, Jackson, I was dying to get my hands on this novel. And let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint. Willett keeps getting better and better with every novel she writes. Lauren has really grown since book one and now, she’s faced with so many choices because Cary. Cary … Oh my God, CARY. This book hit me hard. Lauren. Girl. Why can’t you do what I want you to do?
Before we start, if you haven't read Book 1: Jackson, then click your back button and go get it, this book won't make much sense without book 1. Book 2 starts with Lauren in Paris trying to get her life back on track after the all that happened in book 1. She's ended things with Jackson & is doing her best to avoid anything related to him & the world he inhabits. That is until he surprises her in Paris, & it all come crashes back into her life. As the situation worsens she is rescued from the insanity and taken to London where Cary is waiting on her. As we learned in book 1 Lauren is in love with Cary, we know he's in love with her but for his own reasons (read book 1 to find out) he won't act on his feelings. They have a lovely night in his London home before travelling to his family home in the countryside. Almost as soon as they arrive Cary breaks Lauren's heart in the worst way. Heartbroken and angry Lauren heads for home, to New Orleans & Mamaw. We know from book 1 strange things happen in New Orleans. By the end of this book Lauren is left doubting everything she believed. I can't wait for book 3.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC from the lovely author. I’m a huge fan of her work and love reading all of her new stories. However, the white carpet series is my all time favorite! And the second book does not disappoint!!!
I fell for Jackson in the first book and was hoping to see more of him in the second one. While he is about, the focus isn’t on him but on Cary. And that does not disappoint! Now I’m confused who I would choose as my book boyfriend after reading this one.
The author did a great job at helping create team Jackson and team Cary!
This book was a pretty intense journey. We see Lauren grow and have to really deal with the information she learned in the first book. We see how that impacts her life and how at times that could bring her more questions. I mean I had a ton more questions then going through the book and I was happy to have some of them answered at the end. Only to leave more in their wake!
If you loved the first one you will love jumping back in to this world and trying to figure things out right along with Lauren!
I couldn't wait to finally get to read the second installment of this intriguing series. And it really doesn't disappoint. It doesn't take long to find your way back into the fascinating yet terrifying world ZN Willett created, and to be as torn over the male leads as Lauren appears to be. Again, does everything always have to be black and white, or might there be a million shades in between? And if you think you'll have all the answers after reading this, I can assure you, you'll be biting your nails in anticipation of the third and final part to this story. I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on it.
I was also one of the lucky ones to get an ARC! Once I started, I couldn’t put it down! Like the first book it’s a continuation of Lauren, Carly, Jackson and angels and demons all based in New Orleans and it’s all put together in a way that once you start it’s so hard to put down. ZN’s talent in putting these characters and story together is astounding! A must read!

The Devil has a British Accent: Cary is the 2nd book in the White Carpet series, so YOU MUST READ The Devil has a British Accent: Jackson (Book 1) FIRST! We have #TeamJackson & #TeamCary so Lauren has decisions to make, but the rest of us probably have our minds made up by now, or maybe we don't, as Cary gets his chance to plead his case in this installment of the series. And before you start thinking unfair, Jackson had his turn first. Poor Lauren, she has Sophie's Choice, and yet, I don't feel sorry for her set of circumstances a bit because YUMMY! She's definitely growing more & more since the first book, as she digests all the info she was fed, although, it also brought on new sets of questions. However, there's more f-bomb worthy twists, some of which are answered, some which have led to more questions, so yeah, I feel like I was left hanging again, and that is very frustrating, because I WANT ANSWERS! And Lauren NEEDS answers! I'm too invested to keep on having to wait, because soon the messages with name calling will start as patience isn't a virtue in my life when I'm in the middle of my happy place like the White Carpet series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Full Review to Come❤️ I would describe this as a Paranormal, Romance (tame), Love Triangle, Coming of Age, Good Vs Evil, Suspense, and an Action filled book.
The amount of yelling, jaw drops, giggling, tears, cheering, and did I mention yelling I did AT this book and its characters was crazy. I love what ZN wrote, but I’m also inwardly crying since I have to wait for the grand finale!!😉😘 I suppose I'm an impatient little devil😈 This is a gem of a book and I know ZN will finish it out brilliantly❤️ Obviously, I am excited to read the rest of Lauren’s story!! Oh the choices! I need more of Lauren, Cary, and Jackson in my life🥰 5⭐️ Review coming soon on the blog⭐️
This book Picks up where book 1 left off, but the focus is Cary. I have loved this duet, I normally don’t read paranormal but this was written like nothing I’ve read before and I loved it! Lauren has a tough choice to make, this struggle is real lol. For me this was the ultimate love triangle with secrets and lies and twists.
Before starting my review I would just like to point out that this is book 2 in the White Carpet Series. Please do not read this book unless you have read The Devil has a British Accent: Jackson FIRST. In a continuation of book One, we follow Lauren as she tries to make sense of everything around her. After taking up the opportunity to study in Paris she tries to seek solace away for the two men in her life vying for her attention, love and her soul. Again she is caught up in a world that, until recently, she never knew existed, and in this world, secrets are big secrets and sometimes the truth is very hard to come by. Where book one focuses on Jackson, book two is more about Cary. Jackson still wants to be a part of her life and turns up to surprise her in Paris. Then Lauren is taken to London and is met by Cary. Lauren knows that however easy it would be to pick either man, it would be fraught with danger – for all of them. After a traumatic event she returns home. Decisions need to be made. Who can she trust? Is everyone lying to her? As Lauren clearly states “My heart can’t take this torture”. I will not go into all the details as I’m not one to give away ANY spoilers but I will urge you all to RUN and grab a copy of this book. By the end of the book only one question remains - Are you Team Jackson or Team Cary? I can’t wait for book 3!
It's a page-turner, very entertaining read! I only stopped reading because my phone battery died.
The story is about Lauren, a common girl who is fighting her feelings for Jackson (a demon who is also a famous actor) and Cary (an angel). Both are hiding things from her.
And the glamorous life makes you sigh and daydream. Oh, how I wish I could stay in Paris, London, Venice and LA like Lauren did...
To be fair, although the book has Cary on its name, I think there's not enough of Cary here, and lots of Jackson moments. I wish Cary had explained why he loves Lauren but has an official girlfriend (or had? Cary never explained his actions, and I think they jumped too quickly from "you had a girlfriend but still said you loved me" to watching The Godfather together while eating pizza).
The sad part is that I'll have to wait for the release of the 3rd book to find out what happens next! Can't wait!
