'Letters, and Why They're All for You' is the first published collection of poetry from Chloë Frayne.
It's a beautiful collection of poetry, and the lines between these pages don't just speak to my soul, they whisper to it over and over again that I am not alone.
"We are fucking magic, my loves; we will not be crushed by the mountains, we will not be drowned by the sea."
and
"You know that look in someone's eyes when they see you? Don't fuck that up."
None of my words will aptly summarise this book, so you really ought to just read it.

This is one of those poetry books that has you saying over and over again " I've been there before, I felt that" I felt almost personally connected to do many of Frayne's writing. She's one port I've followed forever and I'm so glad I got this in paperback so I can go back and read it again. Such beauty and talent.

J'avoue avoir préféré "Into Oblivion".

Magnifique!

DNF @ page 26. I really didn’t care for the poems in this collection. I made myself read through page 25 and I just didn’t want to continue on with this anymore.

This book is incredible and so beautiful. I really love it. Chloe Frayne is my all time favorite poet. She talks about emotions and the world in such a passionate way and conveys the greatest thoughts and feelings through her poetry. If you like relatively short poetry that'll relate to the most intense moments of your life, then you need to read this book. It's one I reread over and over again and carry as a comfort to the hard places. I actually took it with me to an inpatient place once thinking it would help me there but instead I loaned it to nearly every person on the unit. We weren't really supposed to share property but by night or break time I'd always have already given it to someone who wanted to read it. Each of them copied down the ones that meant the most to them to carry back with them into their lives and some to gift to their loved ones. Hopefully it helps you the same way

It's a beautiful, simple, heart stabbing collection. An excellent example of how to move worlds with the plainest of language. The poems are short, direct, and so terribly apt it hurts sometimes. I found myself dog earring a lot of passages for sharing with others, and even ended up just buying the whole book for a friend of mine. While the opening of the collection is in many ways stronger than the finishing pieces, and there's a thematic repetition that doesn't always hit, these feel like minor blips in an otherwise outstanding series of insights into self-acceptance and the various, nuanced complexities of saying goodbye to someone you love.

About 6 or so 5/5 poems for me, 6-8 4/5 poems.
So not at same appeal as J.Raymond or Robert M. Drake for me, but so worthy.

Something quiet happens
in the time and space it takes
to want someone
and to reach for their hand,

and it is the fear
of the reach
and the bliss
of the take
which makes
the space between
paradise.

I really loved this debut collection of poetry by Chloe Frayne! There is so much emotion inside every page. This is my favourite out of the two of her books. I highly recommend this to you all!

Letters to humanity

It was hard to read on kindle at first. Its hard to tell which line belongs whete so that was disconcerting but once I adjusted, I got used to it. I’ve always loved Chloe Frayne’s simplicity and sincerity in writing.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was very easy to connect with. Her writing is raw and beautiful. Would definitely recommend. I'm about to start reading the gravity inside us and I'm looking forward to it.

Beautifully written. She held nothing back in her book of poems. There was honesty about love and tragedy, friendship, and family.

Some of the poems were good, others I couldn't relate to. I also read the Kindle version, so it was difficult to tell when one poem ended and when another one began.

1.6⭐️ I liked the title so I decided to read it, but I really didn't enjoy it. There were a few poems that I thought were fine, but that's pretty much it.

I like some pieces of the poetry, but I found others too repetitive across pages that made it not as satisfying as I thought it would be. I look forward to reading her next poetry book and seeing what else she has to offer.

i first read this when i was 15 i believe, and since then my taste has definitely evolved. however, even though the writing style is consistent and i prefer less usage of curse words in poetry nowadays, i still enjoy several of the poems in here and relate to quite a lot.

And we were all just crashing to an ending, pretending not to hear the sound.
