Blowing things up since before he could walk, Oz, Oscar Tomas to his momma and only his momma, could make bombs out of anything and everything ~ lady’s knickers, a torn shoestring, even dried-out, old cow patties. There was nothing he couldn’t make go boom, nothing he couldn’t bend to his will.
Then came London.
Intelligent, quick-witted, and strong-willed with more curves than a country back road, Oz was defenseless in the face of the fiery attraction he felt for this redheaded bombshell. Busting through his iron-clad defenses like a landmine, for the first time, the Guardsman known as ‘Stone Cold’ struggled to find his balance.
So, he opened his mouth and stuck both feet along with half his ass in as far as they would go.
Now, the tables are turned, and her father’s been abducted. The choice is clear. Swallow his pride and help the one woman in all the world created just for him. But will she forgive his arrogance? Can she ever understand his need to protect? Overlook his less than politically correct way of getting his point across? Be his partner when he turned her away without so much as a backward glance?
The Universe doesn’t make mistakes and Fate Will Not Be Denied, but then again, neither has ever dealt with a couple as unpredictable as Oz and his Bobcat.
Take cover! The fuse is lit! Prepare to have everything you ever thought you knew blown to bits!
Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!
I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters, a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked. I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance. I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!
It was a great book ! Oz found his mate, London, and she was a beauty. Then he opened his mouth, and everything went kaboom! Bye Bye London! When London's father is abducted, Oz is ready to help. Will he be able to show London that he is the right mate for her. Is London ready to accept Oz has her mate ? This is a fun read! You will have to read the book to find out. It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book! I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Oz, the stone cold protector, threw London a Darcy worthy insult and turned her into the fiery, badass Elizabeth Bennet the shape shifter. This is not a Pride and Prejudice variation but the similarity just hit me...
Partnered with each other to fight off the demon that has taken her father with the goal of taking over the form of all the shape shifters, they have their work cut out for them. Adding the complication of being destined as mates made a hilarious and steamy read.
Fabulously well written smut that I highly recommend.
Oz should be given the worst 1st impression award! From the first line of the book he has ATTITUDE! Not only NOT wanting to work with another agency but also not wanting to work with a partner. And when that partner sends an “electrical current strong enough to power the entire Vegas strip for a month of Sundays…” and the first thing he says to his mate is “oh, fuck no. Not now. Not ever….” Well things can only get better from this point forward. FYI – it does ! London who takes nothing from anyone is about to have her whole world shaken and it will take not only Oz willing to work with London but London willing to work with Oz and others to save not only her family but her the whole O’Connor Pounce. I love the Dragon guard books and yes this is number 38 but they are standalone books for the most part but where is the fun in that! This was a great story and the friction between mates is always fun to watch because they want to fight it but you know they can’t for long! Julia has a way with words that make you not want to put the book down and once the last page is read you watch your e-mail for the notice of a new book coming out!
Book Review: Stone Cold Protector My Rating: 5 Stars Author: Julia Mills Publication Date: 3/24/2019 Reviewed by: Tammy Payne- Book Nook Nuts
REVIEW What a fantastic new story by this author. We get Oz who we met in a previous story and his buddies who are all military of sorts and Dragon. We also meet London who is one hot as heck kitty cat. London will take none of his crap, she has claws and knows how to use them. Something evil is trying to take over London's pounce, they are all off to end whatever it is. Nothing is ever easy, Oz doesn't think getting his mate to fall for him will be either until... Yep, super exciting suspense in this one and the hotness is spot on...
Another great crossover DPA meets Milky Taiden's FPU! I've now got to go and read Ms Taiden's series now. Oz is as hard as stone cool, calm and collected until and curvy little bobcat shifter needs him to be her partner to solve the missing shifter case. One touch was all it took, for him to lose his calm. Brilliant! Loved it! It worked for me as a Dragon Guard reader. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
You can never go wrong with the Dragon Guard series !!! This book is about Oz and London and boy oh boy, if they can ever stop fighting they may realize that love is a much better emotion to deal with. I love how they handle each other throughout all the emotions. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
Written as part of the Federal Paranormal Unit as well as the Dragon Guard series'. An enjoyable read in its own right but with typical silliness from this author. Two very volatile and quick to open their mouths before engaging their brains shifters come together in this fun story. Oz has at long last found his mate and the first thing he does is put his giant foot into his mouth and antagonise her. London is a strong bobcat shifter and takes her mates nastiness with a good dose of stuff you. Another insta mate story with no real connection to Oz and London. Only for the fact I had just read the FPU book they were in did I know who they were and anything about them. Lots of action fighting a Demon body snatcher, but also snarling between the two main H’s at first until they both realise they are fated and need to get their act together, with a push from ancestors past.. This is my honest review of this book kindly offered to me but read through Kindle Unlimited.
Oz has a thing about explosives. He is not looking for a mate. London walks into the office to meet with his boss and his body and dragon cry mate. Two stubborn people, can they make it work? Can they get all the need players together to defeat the evil that has invaded her father? Come on in and find out.
This is an OK dragon shifter romance, but it was confusing at times. It is a short novella, so maybe there wasn't room for better explanations, but London's powers were never fully explained. She was obviously very powerful, but what exactly were her powers, and why did she have them?
I didn't really like Oz or London that much either. Oz was a total jerk to London in the beginning, and then was hurt when she didn't fall for him immediately? London had reason to dislike Oz after their initial meeting, but she behaved like a spoiled brat a lot. I just didn't buy that they were in love -- definitely in lust, but not love.
The story also had them fighting an ancient evil demon, but very little information was provided about that demon or about how to defeat him. I know that some of it was included in one of the earlier Dragon Guard books, but I wanted more.
This story also really needed an epilogue, to show how Oz and London were doing a few months (or even years) later.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
*WARNING* contains explicit adult situations London was the bobcat princess until she became tired of being guarded, coddled and told what to do all the time, so she ran. When London left the pounce, her dad told her to never come back. London now works for a unit that wants to team up with the FPU and a certain arrogant, grouchy, growly, dragon shifter. Oz's boss at the FPU has told him he's getting a new partner. Oz is leary about a new partner as it is, but when he sees her....there is no way he'll have a partner that looks like that! Growly old dragon acts like a complete tool to cover up how he really feels, I really like reality that is. I like the idea of being able to talk to lost loved ones. I think this is a great series. I have read the Dragon Guards since book 1 and I luv how they evolve. It's Dragons! Who wouldn't like dragons?
nother hit from Julia Mills! This is the story of London Amelia O'Connor, a Bobcat shifter, who is a new agent with the FBI and Oscar Tomas Venegas, affectionately know as Oz. He is a Dragon shifter of the Midnight Dragons and works with the FPU as an explosives expert. He's supposed to work with London and the FBI on a case. London thinks he's drop dead gorgeous until he opens his big mouth and puts his foot in it!! She has her work cut out for her and he'll have to do a lot of groveling! There is so much going on in this story, plenty of action, evil demon, magic, angst, quirky humor and finally sweet and hot romance. Just loved it and highly recommend.
Always love it when these big tough dragons lose their head when meeting a beautiful woman. Why do they think that being rude will earn them points?.. I swear that is not the way to hide how you feel, but what do I know..lol
Perfect story addition to this world and Mills world of dragons. Always love when we blend two worlds together and characters seem to mesh. When they are brought together correctly and with great flow and proper character attitudes.
This story was great and you didn't want to put it down, can't wait for more.
Dragon Guardsman Oscar Tomas (Oz) was an explosives genius and had earned the nickname 'Stone-Cold'. Then he met bobcat shifter London who was redheaded and with all of the right curves. When a demon abducts London's father, can they both stay objective enough to resolve their differences as well as work together in order to defeat him? Prepare for sparks to fly!
This was a great story that was very dramatic as they worked through the steps needed to rescue her father at the same time as resolving any issues between them and accepting that fate would not be denied. Well written and very enjoyable.
Oz has issues from his past that he has not let go of. He also loves to make bombs out of anything he can get his hands on. Then his boss wants him to work with another agency. When he meets the one he will be working with he freaks out and is very rude to London, who happens to be his mate. Can he gain her forgiveness? They have bigger problems when Landon’s Uncle comes with news that he gather is missing. Not everything is as it should be. Can they save her father and all of London’s pounce? Come on in and find out.
Just what I've come to expect when reading one of this author's books - a great mix of humor, sass, action, and suspense that all come together to create a fantastic story. Oz and London are really brought to life with great depth. And let's not forget the flawless way characters from both series are meshed together. If you love stories with sassy heroines, great banter, and alpha male protectors this book is a must read!
Julia rocks it in her new Dragon Guard book. Oz is a fierce and mighty Dragon who has been brought to his knees by London. He meets her and makes a complete ass of himself. Can she forgive him? Then her father goes missing.. It will take some dragons and bobcats and some wolves to slay the demons that are coming. Can they work together to save her dad? Can they become the fated mates that the Universe has selected? Great new read in this series..Hopefully many more Dragons to come.
Book thirty-eight of the Dragon Guard Series a well written story that I was not putting down until I had finished reading it. This is gruff dragon shifter Oz, Oscar Tomas and London O’Connor a bobcat shifter a snaky woman who is very strong willed story. They do not hit it off well when they first meet as he opens his mouth and what he says makes her very angry with him. I recommend this book. I read a copy through KU and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
London has been trying to chart a path other than what has been expected for over a decade and due to that has become distant from those she loves most. Oz doesn't know what hits him when he is tasked with with a joint agency. Togetjer tjese two will have to tackle a danger that has been working to plague the world for 300 years. Another fabulous read and I love that we get to see some of my favorite couples in this too.
Yes, another union of Protection Agencies and the Universer is strengthening her teams. The magic is getting stronger, it's like something big is coming and these unions need to happen to protect life. Strong Alpha women are needed to put up with these Alpha Dragon's and I love the author's characters personalities they so belong together. This world is so much fun the author always leaves me wanting more.
#38 in the series and although this is also a spin off of FPU its also DG as well. 2 wonderful worlds collide. I loved loved loved....did I say loved London? She's a take no crap kinda gal. She's independent without being annoying and can kick butt too. Kick Oz's butt. I wasnt sure I liked him because he was a bit of a prat in the beginning especially to her. However, with all of her books HEA so they work it out. It was a fun read!
Instead of Love at first site , it's insert foot in mouth at first site for Oz when he first meets London. She's pissed at him/attitude and he was being a d#@k. Of course , things will be changing and these 2 are perfect for each other. There's electricity in the air when it comes to any of Julia Mills books but I think that there is a tad more then usual when it comes to this book. I love J. Mills books but this one just push's my buttons and I won't say which ones. LOVE THIS BOOK
I really enjoyed the way this story played out. I've read a few of this author's dragon books and I think this one is my favorite so far. I've never read a book with a dragon that shifts into a battle dragon! Oz is determined not to be partners with London but he's forced into it when London's dad is kidnapped. London is just as determined not to be stuck on the sidelines. There is adult content.
Loved this book. I'm not a very big PNR lover. But normally if I'm gonna grab one, it's a shifter type. I've never read anything about dragons but I loved this book. I loved how Oz was completely turned around when he meet his mate, London. I loved that it wasn't an overly complicated story line. But enough to keep you wanting to turn the pages. It was a quick read that I did in a few hours. I'm going back to the very first book in the Drgaon Guard series. Definitely worth a read.
Loved this book so many different shifters dragons and more a love made by the gods there life as agents to protect all when they first the and touched they new there life would change but both pig headed and strong willed couldn't except that until matters out of there hands put them back together and when a demon nearly took her she went to that magic place and got to see and tAlk to her mum and him his dad
I just love the way Julia Mills gives her Dragon Guard's such a mixture of flawed personality traits that make them so human and relatable. Combine Oz and London and you have a funny, sexy, emotionally volatile mixture that only adds to the adventure and angst of the storyline. This series has never disappointed me and "Stone Cold Protector" is a great addition.
Excellent story in the continuing Dragon Guard Series. Love the new sub-series of the FPU (Federal Paranormal Unit) and already looking forward to the next book! Ty Julia, please keep writing, your stories are nice relaxing reads with a little bit of everything, suspense, humor, steamy sex all with HEA (happily ever after).
Stone Cold Protector: Federal Paranormal Unit (Dragon Guard Series Book 38)
The stories only get more and more intriguing. I knew Oz recognized London as his mate the first time and that's why he panicked. It took for her almost dying for them to get it together. I can't wait for the next book.
Stone Cold Protector: Federal Paranormal Unit (Dragon Guard Series Book 38)
Great Guard story. Loved Oz and London's story. Adventure, danger and lots of action. Would love to see some of the older characters again. But am meeting ones. Was a great story and can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend the whole series.
