I enjoyed reading Enchanted by the Mysterious Marquess. This story has danger, mystery, some twists and unexpected behavior of secondary characters, and of course HEA.

Lavinia Bronson, daughter of Sir Edward and Lady Margaret, was a twenty-three year old independent woman which was encouraged by her father with the caution to respect society’s standards. She and her father were very close and his death was very hard on her.

Myles Arlington, the Marquess of Kent, has not had much interaction recently with ladies, especially those of the Ton, and this is evident as he frequently needs to ‘remove his foot from his mouth’. This is especially true during the first several interactions he has with Lavinia. Not so much because he said something that he should not have, it was the way he came across. He either embarrassed Lavinia or made her mad.

Myles and Sir Edward had served in the King’s Army / Navy at the same time and although above Myles in rank, Myles looked to him as a mentor. He had great respect for Sir Edward and the respect was returned. Because of respected Myles and believed he could count on him, Sir Edward had Myles promise to protect Lavinia from prospective suitors. He has every intension to protect Lavinia but he does not want to explain why she needs protection and be leery of these suitors approaching her so soon after her father’s death.

Lavinia wants to know why she is in danger and what the danger is, and why she needs protection from prospective suitors. He does let her know that her father had asked that he protect her and for her to be weary of prospective suitors. Even though he won’t say more she believes he has her best interest at hear – but she needs more information.

Journey with Lavinia and Myles as her stubbornness and his lack of more information frustrates but brings them closer.

When did Myles first approach Lavinia
Why would Lavinia need protection certain prospective suitors?
Who is Lord Ashdown? Was he one to be leery of or was he a good candidate?
What was the relationship between Sir Henry Astor and the Bronsons?
What was the connection between Anna and Jasper Federline?

Lavinia's suitors and her dowry

Lavinia's father had asked his friend Myles to protect his daughter from fortune hunters in case of his demise. Myles makes a hash of things when he attempts to speak to Lavinia during her father's funeral procession and succeeds in only making her furious with him. Rumors start about Lavinia and the Marquess because of the incident.
Myles hires a man to investigate the men that are interested in Lavinia but doesn't realize that the man talked to them looking to make more money 💰from the situation. When rumors abound about Lavinia and one of her suitors, things turn pretty dire for her when her reputation is shredded and left in tatters making it difficult for her to find an acceptable man to marry.
Heartbroken,Lavinia is forced to accept the proposal from her friend Anna's brother Sir Henry. She finds out that he was the one that started the rumors so that she would be forced to marry him or end up as a spinster and that he only wanted her for her money💰and property to pay off his gambling debts.
Anna goes to Myles and explains what has happened to Lavinia and the machinations her brother had used to coerce Lavinia into an engagement and between them devise a plan to save Lavinia. Myles begins thinking of his friend Jasper and Anna maybe being a good match for each other.
Read to find out more about how things turn out for these two sets of friends. I'm sure you'll enjoy the story as much as I did.

An amazing suspenseful story of a young woman, Miss Lavinia Bronson and the man charged by her father to protect her from unscrupulous marriage minded men. Lord Myles Arlington, the Marquess of Kent gave a solemn vow to Lavinia's father, Sir Edward Bronson in the case of his death that Myles would be sure to ascertain the worthiness of all of Lavinia's suitors. Sir Edward advised Myles of the true reason for his request and that he was not to reveal it to Lavinia till after she was secure with her intended. Myles did his best to comply but keep angering Lavinia with his cryptic warnings of her many suitors. The story covers the different type of men after Lavinia, the lengths they would go to to control her and their greed. One was an evil masochist who hid his true character. Another suitor seemed harmless but of course what you see is not always what you get until it is too late. Unfortunately, the evil web of Lavinia's seduction was cast wide and involved many good people. Some did not deserve to be treated so badly. The mystery and suspense kept me turning page after page. I literally stayed up till the wee hours of the morning just to finish the book. I could not put it down. The characters are so unique and original. Their personalities embodied wonderful qualities that made want to get to know them better. An incredible read and I highly recommend it.

Enchanted by the Mysterious Marquess is a clean romance.
I won't bother going into a synopsis, as this has already been covered. It COULD have been a good story but disintegrated beyond the first chapter.

What I will say is, the book is not AT ALL ready for publication. It has many, MANY typos, incorrect grammar, inconsistent writing, thin character development and too much repetitious exposition. I am not quite halfway through and I am bored out of my mind.

I honestly do not understand the high reviews. Plot and story have to go hand in hand with good execution. If this is a "real" person and author (of which I have my doubts), they should be horrified as well as mortified to have this book out for sale.

As I have before stated, I find this and select other authors are cut from a very similar cloth. So much so, that I am beginning to believe they do not really exist as individual people but are part of perhaps a writing group that churns these novels out quickly for a fast buck. They all have alliterative names, write in a similar style and have almost the same exact errors, verbiage and problems. These 'writers' have no photo and no bio. They are Abigail Agar, Bridget Barton, Fanny Finch, Emma Evans, Hannah Hamilton, and Henrietta Harding. I find this to be VERY weird and frankly, a little disturbing. Perhaps I expect too much from the literati.

Lavinia has to find a suitable husband to please her mother but she really isn't interested. She goes to the first ball of the season and dances with several eligible men. The Marquess served in the Royal navy with her father and he was a mentor for him. He made a promise to him that he would look out for Lavinia to make sure she chose a respectable man. He danced with Lavinia and was trying to tell her she needed to beware of certain suitors. She didn't take his advice well and his words became a bit brash. So starts the many disagreements they had. She soon finds that there are suitors who are very dishonorable. Lavinia goes through disappointments and scandals but she discovers who she really loves. There is also an extended epilogue to pull everything together.
The only thing that detracted from the story for me was the editing. There are words that run together, missing words and wrong words used too frequently that a good editor should have caught. I had to stop too many times to figure out what was meant; hence only 4 stars.

I received an ARC from the author. This is my voluntary review.

It has been a horrible day for Miss Lavinia Bronson. Her beloved father has passed away. During the funeral, a handsome stranger approached her with a warning. She never really found out what it was due to the grief she was feeling. How dare he make a scene which set the ton to gossiping? Myles Arlington, the Marquess of Kent just wanted to warn Lavinia that there would be many fortune hunters wanting her and her dowry. Myles knew her father very well as he had been Myles superior while in the service. He had promised Sir Bronson to look after her interests. Since he didn't have a chance to talk to her, he hired someone to check out the men who want to court her. In the meantime, Myles and Lavinia see each other more and begin to have feelings for each other. The more they see of each other, the feelings grow. Secrets come out, people whom she has known for years are not who she thought they were. There's blackmail and betrayal. This is a clean romance with no sex scenes or foul language. I voluntarily read this book for a honest review.

This story shows the reader how devious and deceitful some of the noblemen become in the Regency Era. Bringing their circumstances upon themselves, because of their selfish roguish behavior and gambling debts. All Lavinia Bronson wanted was to love the man she would marry. Myles, MarQuess of Kent made a promise to Lavinia's father before his death. He had the utmost respect for Lavinia's father. Myles is determined to follow through, and protect Lavinia until she chooses her husband. The way Myles resolves this is by asking her to marry him. Unfortunately Myles has to protect Lavinia from Lord Ashdown's evil and threatening ways. Sir Henry Astor the only other man in Lavinia's life since childhood has turned into an imposter. Anna Astor is Lavinia's best friend she is being blackmailed by Lord Ashdown. Anna and Myles are on a mission to bring Lord Ashdown to justice, and Lavinia and The MarQuess of Kent will be able to have their future together. A Wonderful Love Story with lots of twists and turns along the way to a happy ever after ending. Another Great Story from Fanny Finch!!

A young woman’s father had ‘commissioned’ one of his former protégés to look after his daughter as she chose a marriage mate, as she would be subject to men who might marry her only for her money. The Marquess, Myles Arlington, took this duty very seriously, investigating the various men who sought the hand of Lavinia Bronson. However, the one man who posed the greatest danger of all to Lavinia, slipped under the radar and very nearly garnered Miss Lavinia and her dowery. Only the confession of Lavinia’s dear friend to the Marquess, moved him to take the necessary actions to free Lavinia from the clutches of an unscrupulous man and to recognize his developing feelings for Lavinia. This is a sweet romance, with interesting storyline. Our H & h are upstanding characters, deserving of each other. They do have their HEA, but only after going through heartbreaking trials that test their love for and trust of each other.

It was raining the day Lavinia Bronson buried her father. During the funeral a strange man rushes up to her father"s casket and he seems very upset. When the mysterious stranger approaches her and says her name, she takes him aside to see what he wants. She then learns he is Myles Arlington, the Marquess of Kent, he said he knew her father and to beware who she marries. Who is this mysterious man, how did he know her father, and why did he give her the strange warning? Myles Arlington finds himself more concerned for the beautiful Lavinia Bronson than he feels is necessary. While trying to answer her questions, will Lavinia find herself falling for the mysterious stranger? Will these two strangers find love when they least expect it? While this is a good book, it did drag at the beginning. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion of this book and this is my true and honest opinion.

Very heart worthy.

I enjoyed this book so much. As usual I could not put it down. Even when my daughter called and wanted to have my opinion on something that she put on Facebook. I told her she would need to wait until I finished the book. The intrigue of the book was wonderful. I loved all of the twists and turns in the plot. I believe that Lavinia's father was very insightful when it came to asking the Marquess to look after his daughter. I think he knew that he was in love with her even before he met her.
The idea that the brother of her best friend Anna was the one that was doing all of those things to try to ruin Lavinia's reputation is so unrealistic. But, then evil comes in different packages.
I am just glad that there was a very happy ending not only for Lavinia and the Marquess but, also for Anna and Lord Federline.
Thank you again for sharing your talents with us your humble readers. You are one of my favorite authors.

Thank you

Lavinia must find a husband after the death of her dear father. Her mother is insisting but she is not interested. Myles has a secret oath that he cannot reveal. He has promised Lavinia's father that he would protect and care for her, and help her to find a suitable husband, but he cannot tell her why. He infuriates her, she is stubborn. They learn more about each other as they work together to find Lavinia a good match. There are rakes that only want her for her money, but there are those who profess to love her. Someone is out to sully her reputation. Can Myles find her a suitable husband and keep her safe?

While I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful story, I was surprised by the amount of errors in the book. Most seemed to be typos, sometimes words were crammed together without spacing. Sadly, the editing seems to be lacking on this one.

Lavinia Bronson's father has passed away. He was a member of the Royal Navy and he mentored a young man, Myles Arlington, Marquess of Kent. Before his death he asked Myles to protect his daughter and warn her to be careful as she needed to beware of certain suitors. There would be those that would only want to marry her for her money. He also could not tell her that her father asked him to do this. There is drama, action, danger, betrayal, suspense, mystery, friendship and love. There are great characters and detail that I could visualize the story. Very well thought out and very well written. Will Lavinia listen to Myles? Will they fall in love? Get a copy and come along on this fast paced ride. You'll be glad you did!!

Fanny Finch’s Enchanted by the Mysterious Marquess goes everything a truly great “Clean & Sweet” Regency romance should do. It has engaging leads in Lavina and Myles (the Marquis), a good justification to push them together (he promised her now deceased father to protect her from gold-digging rakes), a well done - and Regency Period appropriate - romance and a great plot that’s well written. Got lovers if this genre what more could you ask for? But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

One amazing storyline and intriguing plot bring this little gem alive beautifully. The characters were realistic with personalities and depth that drew you in. All the drama, action, hard hitting, danger and suspense brings all the pieces together for one wild ride. The scenes were so vividly detailed it gives the illusion you were right there with them. Good read

I thoroughly enjoy reading Fannys books. I love a little mystery mixed with my romance. From the head strong Lavinia to the honor bound mysterious Myles, Marquees of Kent whom was tasked with the promise to watch out for gold digging scoundrels by Lavinias father. All would be easier if he could explain himself to her better than all his cryptic warnings but because of his promise he blunders. In the beginning Lavinia and Myles got off on the wrong foot with him and her causing a scene at her father's funeral but in the end they found their HEA. I highly recommend this book. Also download the extended epilogue.

In this sweet story, Myles is assisting Lavinia with potential suitors who may not be all they seemed. I was a bit annoyed at the whole premise of Myles helping Lavinia as per her deceased fathers directions which included not telling her the actual reason for her to be cautious when courting. I found the story really seem to drag with so much dancing around this issue. In addition, extreme changes in the emotions of several characters made them seem shallow and fickle. In the end, both Lavinia and Myles make discoveries eventually leading to a HEA and a sweet peak briefly in the future.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

Wow! What a great story. I really enjoyed reading this book. I think it's extremely well-written and the characters very engaging and well-described. There are so many exciting twists and turns in the story line, and you never know what's going to happen next. I couldn't put it down. It was just so sweet when Myles and Lavinia finally come together in the end, and have their happily ever after. Also I was cheering for Lavinia's friend Anna who finally found love with Myles' friend Jasper. This book was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Great job, Fanny Finch!

An engaging Regency Romance

Myles Arlington (the Duke of Kent) has given his word to Sir Edward Bronson to watch over his daughter Miss Lavinia. Her father is greatly concerned that upon his death she will have many suitors that want her vast inheritence. Myles is to give her a warning so that
she will guard her heart and seek out her true love and not be tricked into marriage.

I loved this book. The characters felt very real to me and the plot was well thought out. I would happily recommend this book.

When I started reading this story, I could have thought I read it before. The story itself is filled with intrigue, mystery and a handsome Marquess who doesn't know when to stop. It's why he gets caught up in Lavinia life. I knew who the bad guy was in this story. The Lord everyone focuses on is a villain, but he is not the truly despicable one in this story. He is smart, but when he believes he has won; he shows his hand. Pride and vanity is the villain's downfall every time. The story and plot end in an exciting climax.

Needs a Good Edit.

I've tried to enjoy Ms. Funch's work for several months now, but this story wasn't it. While I like the initial concept, character growth was barely present.

Not only that, but so many grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the whole novel told me it needs another pair of eyes for editing. I hate to be so negative, but the sentence structure and writing style is choppy at best as well. If you want a quick read without much substance, consider this book yours.

Father knows best. Sir Edward Bronson left Myles The Marquess of Kent in charge of making sure is daughter Lavinia made the right choice in finding a husband. In the beginning I thought it moved slow however that might just be me because I was eager to see what was going to happen next. Lovely story of how Lavinia and Myles fall in love. I must admit I figured out who the true villain was pretty early on. If you enjoy a clean story this one is worth the read.

I thought this plot dragged at certain times and didn't keep me interested. I think it lacked substance and needed more depth! I think the idea was great but I thought even though the Marquess has a goal, he needed more personality than the strength he had to do a great job requested by Sir Edward. Her personality was strong in her love for him, however, his love lacked strength!
Sine errors in editing otherwise it was an okay novel.

Young Adult is giving this authors style too much credit

Terrible writing style, jolted, and tedious. Lavinia is supposed to be an intelligent woman who. Is dumb to figure out her suitors are fortune hunters and that she is an heiress... And she's too intelligent to not figure out a better way to deal with a rake than run hot headed to his home. Just one of the many unbelievable and inconsistent things that happen in the book.

The man her father has been mentoring had promised to look after his daughter after his death.
..Off to the races! Talk about an arranged marriage. Daddy dies know best! The two have sparks for sure. There is ton of action especially once family skeletons start being revealed.
A must read by Fanny Finch.

Slow and repetitive

Plot was implausible ( "Meet meet me in secret so I can tell you a secret", they meet and then he doesn't say anything he hasn't said before?). I really got tired of all the hand ringing, introspection, and angst from both main characters. I skipped 20 chapters and read the ending. My first by this author and my last.

I enjoyed this Regency era book. I thought father of Lavinia did such a wonderful job raising her and providing for her. Her mother was more correct and with the times. The Marquess was given the task of pointing the way by her father. This is a good book to read. I voluntarily read this book because I enjoy reading this author's book and give my honest opinion.
