Empire Nightclub #2

Gabriel Fallen

Rate this book
From internationally bestselling author K.A. Tucker comes the dark and sexy Empire Nightclub series.

Mercy Wheeler and Gabriel Easton’s sordid tale continues in Gabriel Fallen as Mercy finds herself heading down a dangerous path.

Gabriel has made an art of dangling what I’m most desperate for in front of me, what he knows I can’t refuse, no matter the cost. In this case, that cost continues to be me.

He is still a scoundrel, but I’m starting to see something more.

And while our bargain is proving advantageous in ways I never anticipated, the risks that come with being associated with a man like him are becoming painfully clear.

But how much longer before this arrangement with Gabriel costs me everything I am?

This is the second book in the Empire Nightclub series and should be read after Sweet Mercy.

I’m falling for this woman, and I’m falling hard.

This trilogy is the best sort of book crack. I can't get enough of Gabriel and Mercy.

You know that saying about the bigger they are? Well nothing is more satisfying than watching the biggest bad boy fall hard for a woman, especially when that woman is a spitfire that gives as hard as she gets.

The dominoes continue to fall in Gabriel's world in this second installment. More secrets are revealed about his family and they're jaw dropping. Gabriel went into his affair with Mercy hoping to work her out of his system but he definitely got a lot more than he bargained with her. He finds himself falling for her, even if he doesn't quite realize that's what's happening.

Mercy is one of my favorite heroines. The woman has all of the odds stacked against her and still she fights. She essentially sold her soul to the devil to help her father. She can't possibly fall for Gabriel when he's the antithesis to everything she should want, right? I gotta say I absolutely love the live wire dynamic between these two. Their chemistry is incendiary. But the progression of their relationship is absolutely magnetic. I can't get enough of them.

I'm salivating for the conclusion. I needs it. If you're looking for a sexy, fast paced trilogy, you need this one in your life. Gabriel is an antihero that needs to be experienced.

Mercy and Gabriel, book 2 of 4

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜🖤
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😊😄😘😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Mercy - she is a twenty-five-year-old administrative assistant at an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center. She is nearly finished with her degree in substance abuse counseling but has decided to take the LSAT and go to law school to try to get her father an appeal. He is in prison for killing a man who tried to rape her. It was technically an accident, but they spent all their money on a lawyer who didn’t give a decent defense.

The Hero: Gabriel - he is a twenty-nine-year-old co-owner of a successful nightclub callee Empire. He and his brother own the nightclub which is also used to launder money from his father and Uncle’s drug business. His father is a mobster who is currently serving time for money laundering himself. He will be in jain for another 6 years and is 75, so the sons don’t know if he will live to be free again. Gabriel and Caleb want to go completely legit, but their father still tries to run things from his jail cell and their uncle seems to be making moves to cut their father out.

The Story: When Mercy’s father was getting beat up in prison, by a cousin of the man he killed, Gabriel offered Mercy a deal to get her father protection. He offered protection in exchange for her living with him for a week. He expected to be through with her by then. Though when the week was half over, he decided it wouldn’t be long enough for him, so he offered to get a new lawyer for her father if she would stay longer.

I was a bit frustrated when I was reading the first book in this series, that I looked and found out it was just book one of four for the story of Gabriel and Mercy. I didn’t know if I would even continue on with the series after the first book, because I am not too fond of reading four separate books about one couple. Though I am really liking this story and the characters are great. Gabriel was a bit of a jerk at first, especially in how he treated and thought of women, but he changed his tune much faster than I expected and I really like how he treats Mercy.

Mercy is the one that is determined to not fall in love with Gabriel for two reasons, first because he is part of a mafia family and doesn’t always do legitimate business, secondly because she feels he bribed her into being with him and she says she will never love someone who could do that. Technically I don’t think he bribed her so much as made a deal with her. He had something she wanted, and she had something he wanted (herself). She could have said no but didn’t.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Alex Kydd and Ada Sinclair. Alex Kydd is a good narrator; I like the voice he uses for Gabriel; it is kind of low and gravelly. He is great at using completely different sounding voices for other characters as well. Ada Sinclair has a soft, feminine voice which I find I really like.

There was less plot progression in this book. I'm getting a tad bit bored with Gabriel and Mercy, but they're fine. They feel like they're going a bit in circles and getting a bit repetitive in their dialogue. I'm more interested in Merrick tbh, but that could be because I read the Wolf Hotel series first, and he's a GREAT side character (with excellent smut) in that series. This series, unsurprisingly, has great smut too.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

PERFORMANCE REVIEW: I am still very much enjoying Ada Sinclair & Alex Kydd’s narration of this story. They play well off each other, and their voices were realistic to the characters they were narrating.

STORY REVIEW: I am now completely addicted to Gabriel and Mercy and their story!! There is nothing I do not like about the dynamic of their growing relationship. Throughout this installment in their journey, not only do they both grow as individuals, but also as a couple, and they most definitely are fire!! What started out as nothing more than a means to an end has turned out to be a spectacular journey between two people who fit perfectly. I love how subtle their growing feelings for one another are unfolding in the story. The author has done an outstanding job with the choices she has made for this story allowing everything to unfold in an organic, relatable, and realistic manner. I believe in Mercy and Gabriel. I believe in Gabriel and everything he is trying to accomplish personally and I champion Mercy for her tenacity and strength!

Of course, the end came at me like a blast and I had to pause and blink and go back 30 seconds in the audio to be sure I got every word LOL I needed a few beats to recover!

The way to a woman’s heart is definitely not by bribing her to sleep with you.

I don’t know what to say. Mafia romance. Steamy. That ending. I… KA Tucker likes her readers to be stressed I assume. Glad all the books are out, so I don’t have to feel that way 😂

The story didn't have much going on, lots of sex, I personally didn’t like that. The ending was interesting but I’m not sure I will continue with the series.

Gabriel Fallen is the second book in the Dirty Empire trilogy (which is now going to be 4 books). It must be read after Sweet Mercy as it is a continuing story.

KA Tucker is one of my favorite authors. So even though super sexy is not really my thing I knew that I wanted to read this series.

Once again the narrators are Mercy and Gabriel (1st person POVs)

This book is super steamy. I would recommend it to anyone who likes super sexy books mixed with a bit of dark drama.

I definitely prefer Gabriel more in this book. Although I am still not completely sold on loving him with Mercy. I will have to see what happens in book three.

This book ends with a very strong cliffhanger ending. I really enjoyed the end. It was definitely my favorite part of the book.

Overall, the story was interesting. Although this was such a quick read. I was hoping that more would happen in book two. But I definitely look forward to seeing how everything ties together in the next books.

This is the second book in the series, and we continue on with our epic series between Gabriel and Mercy, and seeing their romance begin to blossom. They begin to explore the chemistry that only gets stronger between them. There is a battle of wills as they both come from different worlds and trying to find a balance together. There are some misconceptions about each other, but I really enjoyed how devoted they are to what matters to them and are willing to fight for it. I really found Gabriel so intriguing. There is something about him that screams "black knight in shining armor" he and his brother grew up in a life that they never wanted and are wanting out but that's easier said that done. I was completely on the side of the hero though, there is something so infectious about his character and you can sense that there are hidden depths to his character and I just wanted him to find a HEA with his girl Mercy. Mercy could be a difficult character but I admired that she stuck to her principles and wasn't willing to back down from them just because she has a attraction to this sexy hero. I am really enjoying seeing where the author is taking this series.

Oh hell no! The cliffhanger was just freaking mean!!!!
Gabriel fallen was so exciting to read. The plot thickened with Gabriel, his families, all that happened in his past and it’s wasn’t pretty. Not if Mercy finds out what her captor was involved with ... she might be running for the hills. I can’t wait! I think the final book will be actions packed. Gabriel and Caleb are trying to move on of their lives but it will come with a cost 😬
The relationship between Gabriel and Mercy continues to build. Mercy’s erect wall starting to come down and if I know any better Gabriel has fallen head over heal and Mercy’s not much further behind. I mean how could you not? The man is gorgeous, talented but most importantly he is protective, kind, caring. A bit caveman but absolutely SWOONS. The chemistry is explosive and don’t even get me going on the sex scenes. Holly hotness!!!!
This series is absolutely addictive. I’m in love with Nina West and her alter ago. Bring on book 3!!! ❤️🙏

The second book in the Empire Nightclub series, this is a continuation from Sweet MercySweet Mercy, and the story picks right up where the last book left off, so don’t read this as a standalone.

Though Mercy entered Gabriel’s world solely to protect her imprisoned father, they’re now starting to feel more than just mad lust for each other. They’re getting to know each other, feelings are starting to develop, and their relationship is shifting.

“Isn’t it obvious, Mercy?” His deep blue eyes are oddly bright. “Because you were the final push for me. I want to be better for you. I want to deserve you.”

At the same time, Gabriel and his brother, Caleb, are making moves to break away from their mobster father, and they’re willing to work with the enemy to figure out a way out of the mess that is their birthright. Which puts all of them in danger.

It’s a fast-paced story full of chemistry and wildly intense sexy times. Gabriel and Mercy are finding their way forward together, and I loved watching the change in their dynamic.

There’s a big ending to this one, and I will be immediately diving into the next book of the series to see where the story goes from here.

3.5 stars.

As a whole, the Empire a Nightclub series is a darker, mafia-like romance filled with a ton of steam, a bit of suspense and an intruiging plot. Each book is less than 300 pages, making them extemelt bingable!!

Gabriel Fallen picks up right where Sweet Mercy left off. I love how we’re seeing Mercy and Gabriel’s chatacters develop!!

'Gabriel Fallen' is the second book of the best selling trilogy ' Dirty Empire' by Nina West. Told in dual Perspectives , this trilogy has officially become one of my top reads of all time!!

I think I am addicted . No, I am definitely addicted! This book was so amazing and marvelous! There were entertaining parts and the vulnerable parts. I loved being a part of journey where Gabriel falls on his ass for a woman who is his perfect match! This book had all the feels and I am definitely adding this to my top reads list!

Gabriel went into this relationship with Mercy , thinking that he can just get her out of his system. But that is not what happens at all. The bad boy of all time is falling for a woman and he himself has no idea. I loved the strength Mercy had. She was willing to do anything to help her father and in her eyes , she had sold herself to the devil for that. But what she didn't expect was to fall for him.

These two are the best characters ever and I already can't wait for the conclusion of this series!! I know it's going to be mind-blowing! A definite read for all the romance lovers out there!

MINI REVIEW
Gabriel continues to dangle what Mercy is most desperate for and she has no choice but to accept the cost. He’s still a scoundrel but she’s beginning to see more in him. But with advantage, comes risk and is this arrangement going to cost her everything she is?

This one picks up right where Sweet Mercy left off. I again flew through this story. The storyline is fast paced, quick to read, full of jealously and sizzling chemistry. Complete with a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more ASAP. There’s a bit more of a mafia feel in this one but still the focus is on them. I enjoyed seeing another side to Gabriel in this one while Mercy held strong. Looking forward to reading the finale!

Gabriel Fallen in the second book in the Dirty Empire trilogy. So far, this trilogy is the perfect blend of fire hot romance with an organized crime centered plot.

Mercy has agreed to a new deal with Gabriel to remain intimate with him until her father can be released from prison. Mercy slowly begins to see behind the mask Gabriel dons and sees his more vulnerable side.

I’m usually not a fan of organized crime centered romances, but West strikes the perfect balance between Gabriel’s crime life and his relationship with Mercy. Though Gabriel Fallen is told from Mercy and Gabriel’s perspectives, readers are given more Mercy chapters. While Mercy remains in the dark about Gabriel’s crime life, she does begin to unravel what’s happening behind the scenes. Since the focus is mostly on Mercy and her relationship with Gabriel, Gabriel Fallen is fire hot. Again, you’ll need a glass of water while reading. And maybe a fan as well.

As mentioned in my review of Sweet Mercy, the power balance between Mercy and Gabriel continues to lean towards Mercy despite Gabriel’s sometimes overbearing remarks or actions.

Overall, Gabriel Fallen is the perfect balance between a fire hot romance and an organized crime centered plot. These books are the ultimate guilty pleasure read that you shouldn’t feel guilty about.

That ending. What! This is getting serious.

The second book discusses more of the mafia. It wasn't my favorite part of the book. However, after finding out what happened to the MMC,Mother, it made everything more important.

I am definitely going to continue reading this series, but it is not my favorite compared to the Wolf Hotel series.

JUST WANT MORE!
An enticing bundle of non-stop excitement throughout the engrossing twists and head reeling turns pack with danger, betrayal and sizzle popping chemistry that kept me dangling on the edge of my seat rendered speechless in a stupified state blasting through the pages. The cliffy ending has me spiraling into crazy woman madness replaying the ending in an explosive outburst that will continue to haunt me with a burning need to get my greedy hands on more.
