I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. I didn't finish this book, so it's possible that it gets better in the second half. While this book did have some good advice I had a difficult time finding value in reading it. It was kind of like an autobiography with a bunch of platitudes, and then a short list of loosely connected self-help questions at the end of each chapter. I do believe that the author overcame many obstacles to be where he is today, but I couldn't find a lot of actionable advice in the book. I was also a little put off by what felt like post mortem exploitation of a severely mentally ill "friend" of the author.

Inspiration!

Here's what I loved about this book; all the stories made you feel as if you were there. So inspiring!
Some heart wrenching.
What I had a hard time with was the term "The Process" (it was almost annoying).
Then I got closer to the end and it all came together! I'm so glad I continued to read this book!
I will definitely use all the tools suggested to help me be Exceptional.I

Thank you Jason for sharing your stories with the world.
Need to mention that I received this book from Goodreads Giveaway.

Dr Valadao uses a method called The Process to help you achieve personal goals. He wants you to manage your life and gives you the tools. It is a self help book with some work sheets for the reader to use. I found it helpful and informative. He teaches you how to prioritize your time, explore your interests and much more. He also shares his personal experiences. I found this to be very enlightening. Thank you for the opportunity of receiving this book. I have already passed it on to a friend.

2.5*

I won this in a Goodreads Giveaway. While I do think there were some good points, most of it you get from any sort of self help book. There was also a chapter where he listed things about specific people I had to skip, because after three people I had the sense of dragging through it. The feeling of dragging through the book is a feeling I felt throughout a lot of the book, as well. Granted, I did not write down the end of the chapter assessments, just did them in my head. At this point in my life, I do not want homework. Quite a disappointing read for me.

This book helps you figure out what you want in life and way to get there. I've seen similar advise in other books as well. I did win this on Goodreads so it was worth reading.

This book didn't really offer any new ideas. It read more like a life story of the author.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

A very upbeat book, but with no new insights. Some very inspiring stories and a pleasant read, but nothing profound in the way of "transforming your life" that hasn't been written about in a myriad of other books - just called something different. "In compliance with FTC guidelines, I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads."

I received the e-book copy of EXCEPTIONAL EVERY DAY: AN EMPOWERING PROCESS TO UNLOCK YOUR WHY AND TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE by Jason Valadao through a Goodreads Giveaway program in exchange for an honest review. I must admit that this didn't share any new light on my self-help journey. I suppose I have just read too many self-help books. One thing I did take away from this book was to slow down and truly enjoy your journey to your end goals. I think too many of us just focus on the end result in our hurried world and we forget to "stop and smell the roses"
