*** Con consigli pratici per creare e postare video online ***
The second book in the Girls Can Vlog series, and this time we have Abby!
I enjoyed the first one so much, and I was delighted that we will be getting all the other girls as well. The book is formatted the same way as the previous book. We have story, but also the vlogs, while I loved reading them, I wouldn't mind if there was an actual link to a youtube video with the vlog. :P
Abby was a pretty good character, though I do wish she would have been more honest about stuff. About Dakota, about her studies, about the pressure. I am sure her mom would have understood it, I am sure her friends would have helped. But now she did all sorts of things (cheating, just ploughing through stuff), and then got into trouble. But I also felt sorry for her, I know the feeling of being overwhelmed, the feeling of not knowing what to do. But again, she has friends, she has a caring family, just go to them.
But next to all that, she was a fun character, and I was laughing at her flirting with the guys, falling in love with C, but denying that as much as she could, until she couldn't any more. They had such a great spark together, and they were sooooo cute! It was just adorable. Though I did feel sorry that the other guy she was flirting with turned out to be douche/player (then again, I knew it would end like that, he is that kind of guy).
I was a bit sad that they decided to do the vlog together. It felt a bit disrespectful to Lucy, especially since now they gained most of their subscribers from her channel. But after a while I didn't mind it much, they did everything together, made a rota so everyone could do a vlog (alone, together, all of them). And of course the vlogs turned out to be very much fun (though also sad in one case).
Dakota was just a terrible, terrible person, and I just wanted to scream at people for not realising it. For the teacher to just blindly trust her, to not see that she was hurting someone badly, that she was ruining it. For everyone else who didn't stand up. The last part definitely had me clapping for Abby, I was happy to see it happen, even if it might mean that she will be in more trouble with Dakota later on.
The Grease musical was so much fun, I wish I could have been there to see it.
It was definitely fun to see the other characters again, and the fact that the next book will be about Jessie! Yay!
I would recommend this book to everyone. You will laugh, you will cheer, you will be angry (at Dakota). You will have so much fun!
Its an amazing book to have carried on the series. In the series it changes every book as the first one was about one of the group of 4 girls called Lucy but the second one is all about Abby. in the book all four of the friendship group have a YouTube channel together. In he story Abby was one of the main cloggers but once she was a main part of the Greece show being a pink lady. She was stressing to get everything done so her school grades started to drop. So her mum and her had to see a special learning person which she didn’t like as one of the mean girls who had already bullied her kept saying stuff making her feel down about herself. I really enjoyed the book I think it was even better than the first book of the series. This book uses romance in it. If you are around the ages of 11-14 you would probably enjoy the book especially if you enjoy watching YouTube and reading blogs. I would definitely recommend this book.

I think that this book was a great book, I especially liked how Abby shared her feelings and emotions as if nobody was watching her. I liked that we got to get a little peek at how her life is and how she might be going through so much, including vlogging. I could also really relate to most of the things, like how she had a hard time keeping up her grades, that isn't exactly me but sometimes I feel that too, and many times the consequences for that are "stop doing what you like the best" but I don't think that really helps because I've been through this. Other than that I really liked how Abby ended the book, and I recommend it to everyone because sometimes we all go through "stuff" and this really helped me release some, actually most of my stress! Have fun reading!
I can see fifteen year old me, scratch that, fifteen year old me was reading Agatha Christie and James Patterson, eleven year old me reading this book and liking it very much. But now more than ten years later, I have some issues with it.
Firstly, I have to say that the plot itself wasn't something I didn't like. It was enjoyable enough that if I was rating only that criteria I would give it more stars.
Now let's move to the issues I have with this book.
This might be only the translated version, but the language was so simple. I know it's a book meant for younger readers yet I think more complex sentences could be used nevertheless. Most of the book is written in simple sentences and I can't stress enough how much this bothered me. To the point I almost stopped reading it and return it to the library immediately.
Another thing I'm too big of a fan is when there was a conversation between two or more people and one of them was saying something and then instead of just saying saying the word she/he said #word. Do we really use hastags in conversations? Or maybe younger generations do, who knows?
I like the idea of tips for making your own youtube channel/vlogs, but since I don't plan on doing that like ever, I didn't read those.
When I was 11 years old I want to be a vlog maker so much that I have more then 10 books about making vlog tips. I’ve read it a couple of them but it was to boring for me. One day my cousin send me new books and all of them were pretty funny and fun. I read many of them and found this book call “Emma Moss GIRLS CAN VLOG” When i saw the word vlog I quickly read it.
The book was about one girl call Abby. Abby and her friend set up the YouTube channel called “Girl can vlog”. After that she was pretty busy because she need lots of time to do each vlog. She even have to deal with the musical at school because she’s a big role and also was having a crush on her CO-STAR. After that her grade was going down and how can she deal with it???!!! (The book also gives some trick of Being a vlog maker!)
It kinda like me because I play golf and spend most of my holiday on the gold course so it would be hard to make vlog because on the weekdays I have to study. So I would follow what she do so I can be a good vlog maker! LOVE IT, recommend it!
Mulle see raamat meeldis.
I’m going to start off by saying this is indeed a middle-grade fiction novel, just in case there are any doubts. Regardless, it was well-written and engaging. I read this book as sort of a contemporary filler from the intense high fantasy novels I’ve been reading lately and enjoyed the change of pace. I found this book to be quite predictable, but I enjoyed seeing how things unfolded, regardless.
I think it’s a great middle-grade fiction book and would be really relatable for 9-12 year olds, since it’s about a group of girls wanting to become ‘internet famous’, while also trying to balance school life and social life, since they’d be around the similar age group and would have similar interests and similar social structures in school, but for me I wasn’t able to relate as much being a bit older. It was just a good story, not bad, but also not great.
I LOVED the formatting of the book! I enjoy books so much more when they have things like texts, comments, scripts and things like that, so yay!! They definitely added to the book atmosphere. Emma’s description skills are on point, I had a pretty good feel of what the vlogs were intended to look like, and I probably would’ve enjoyed watching the actual vlogs if they were made, but I was also quite surprised at the rate of subscribers gained, because I feel like it’s not that easy??
While I hadn’t read the first in the series, I felt as if I could pick up enough about the characters to be able to fully understand all that was happening, as the story was relatively straightforward and didn’t require a lot of background knowledge of the characters. The characters in the story were cute, but relatively shallow, with very little character development. However, taking into consideration the target audience, it isn’t as much of a big deal as it would be with a YA novel. I did, however, really like the friendship between the girls, and enjoyed how they brought each other up.
I’m not a fan of love triangles. At all. But, for some reason this one was manageable, and didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would’ve, and I wasn’t a fan of the whole clichéd popular-girl-is-a-bully-and-wants-the-same-guy-as-the-protagonist kinda thing, but in the end I was ok with how things turned out.
In this story we have Abby's point of view after the Lucylocket catastrophe. In this we get love, crushes and heartbreak. And if course a mean old bully who tries to ruin everything.
Back with the girl's on their new combined vlogging channel, we see Abby struggle to manage schoolwork, YouTube and her part in their school play as Dakota tries to sabotage and drag her down whilst Ben and Charlie both seen interested in dating Abby even if she notices one more than the other for a start!
More fun vlogs and pranks as well as catching up with the girl's and seeing them meet up once again with their idol RedVelvet.
Full of fun and relatable things to our modern day world of social media, anyone can appreciate the good and bad side of both the real school world and the online world we create for ourselves. Of course the love interest adds a usual teen fiction trope to the mix and kept us wondering will they won't they and when will they?!
