Beautiful play on Frankenstein and the bride of Frankenstein.
This story takes Frankenstein to a whole new level. I always felt for the monster but now I feel for him more. These characters are beautifully written and draw you in. I enjoyed this take on Frankenstein. Yolanda did a wonderful job .
Yolanda's stories always leave you guessing as to what happened, and what happens next! These 2 people, created by Victor Frankenstein, are hoping to not have any more created siblings, and they do what they have to do to make sure that doesn't happen. Very quick interesting story!
Such a fun take on Bride of Frankenstein! Yolanda has a way with weaving a story and making you feel for characters you didn't think you would. Definitely one everyone needs to check out!
As creations of Victor, Elsa and Frankie have learned to adapt but when a threat arises, they must act in the only way they know how.
“I saved Elsa. I saved myself.”
Narrated mainly from Elsa’s point of view, she and Frankie draw much sympathy as they must not deviate from Victor’s wishes. Their connection is palpable, especially given the short length of this novella. Protecting themselves, the storyline progresses and ends quite poetically for these characters.
This is a nice retelling of the Bride of Frankenstein. We get to see the love of Frankie and Elsa, their sibling love. Elsa tries to protect her brother, the best way she can. She feels that their father is sick in the head and she wants him to stop with all the foolishness. But when she decides to do something about it, a little situation happens and Frankie goes to help her.
Damn... the story was short and rather sweet. I even cried. CRIED!! The ending... Ugh... I didn't know I would care about the characters, Elsa and Frankie, so much. Their relationship was amazing. They cared about each so much.
Superbly executed, a quickie, that will have you caring greatly for the characters, Elsa & Frankie. Danger lurks throughout making this a captivating read.
Title: Pallor Mortis Author: Yolanda Olson Genre: Horror Type: Short Story POV: First Person- Female Rating:
As the creation of Victor Frankenstein, Elsa knew he had to be stopped. With her brother's life on the line, she vowed to protect Frakie and destroy their maker, no matter the cost.
For such a short story about monsters, this book packed a lot of hearts. I felt so much for the characters and found myself rooting for them until the end.
Brief yet impactful. Exactly how I like my short stories to be.

Can they free themselves from Hell? A tale that takes you back in time where we are reintroduced to Victor Frankenstein and his two monster creations... his daughter and his son. A tale of strong sibling love and a deep hatred for their creator. 4 Sacrificial Stars for "Pallor Mortis"... when even monsters have deeper feelings.
I have a new author obsession and it is... YOLANDA OLSON. I've been binging her books and Pallor Mortis is my absolute FAVORITE. I know it's only 23 pages, but I loved the classic "monsters" and the love between Elsa and Frankie. This story isn't as dark as her usual books. I only wish I this was in paperback so I can display this beauty on my shelf.
Fab quick read with the fast paced kind of story I've come to know and love from Mrs Olson this one wasn't as horrific as some of her other works but still a fab quick read
A unique take on Frankenstein's Monster and the Bride
This is a very fast read. It's a twisted retelling of Frankenstein's Monster and his relationship with his sister who was his bride in Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.
A great retelling of the Bride of Frankenstein .Even though it's a short story you felt all the heart and emotion the author put into bringing the characters of Elsa and Frankie back to life .
A dark captivating story of a retelling the Bride of Frankenstein. Elsa and Frankie's love for one another stood strong. Siblings who hate their father.
