Most everyone has gone to a flower shop and purchased a bouquet or a gift. Have you ever taken the time to ponder where the flowers are going and the story behind the purchase?
Welcome to Bee's Flowers where there is a story behind every bouquet. A place where customers and owners lives interwine.
There will be laughter, there will be tears, there will be love, there will be loss. Told from multiple characters point-of-view you will be amazed at how closely we are all connected, all through a little flower shop.
Corlet (Cor-lay) is the international-selling author of the Bee's Flowers series. She recently signed with Magnolia Blossom Publishing to rerelease the series, with the first book releasing in March 2022. Her first thriller/horror book will be coming soon from RavensTale Publishing. In addition, she has also written a children's book, available with all major book retailers and on Audible.
She knew that she was equally compassionate and creative from a young age. She uses these qualities in her career as a nurse and her passion as an author.
She is a Colorado native. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and being active. She is lucky enough to live in Colorado, where there are more sunny days than not. She loves to run, hike, garden, and kickbox. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, teenage daughter, and two dogs. Her dream job would be to travel the world and write books full-time. She has dance parties as often as possible.
Corlet was inspired to write the Bee's Flowers books after being raised with a grandmother, mother, and sister who all loved flowers. She often wondered about flower shops and the different reasons people would purchase flowers. She started writing the first book ten years ago, but during her nursing rotations, she further explored the idea, and eventually, Bee's Flowers began to form.
She is unsure of the origin story behind her name. Her parents tell her a different story every time.
Wonderful, hardworking, generous and realistic characters. Life isn't easy for any of them, and the lesson was you never know who will be there when you need them. Life-affirming in the struggles of reality and flowers. Excellent read, you will look forward to the next chapter every time you put in your bookmark.
I really enjoyed reading Bee's Flowers! The author did a great job at pulling on your heartstrings. The characters were relatable, and the stories were well done.
My only two cons while reading were that most of the characters' dialogue seemed very stiff and formal. The lack of contractions really stood out in a major way. Contractions would make each character's dialogue sound MUCH more authentic! Most people just don't talk like that in real life, let alone several people in a scene together all doing it. The other con was the overuse of character's names rather than using he/she pronouns.
Otherwise, I thought the story was good and it kept me reading to find out what would happen next, which is a big plus for me! The premise was unique, and I really liked the ending. I love the title, too! :) For these positive things, it's worth giving Bee's Flowers a read.
Bee’s Flowers follows the lives of the Bee sisters Rachel and Stacia as they operate their family’s flower shop in Colorado. Over the course of the book, the sisters become friends with Eleanor and Kai along with Scarlett, Tevin, and their daughter Molly.
The book chronicles the hardships of all the characters as they deal with trauma, tragedy, and finding hope in new beginnings.
The author touches on several topics throughout the book. She explores the issues of abuse, childhood cancer, and PTSD for military personnel. She does a good job of exploring the topics and getting the perspectives of the characters dealing with these hardships.
The book is emotional, and I recommend readers have tissues on hand.
Even though there are sad moments throughout the book, the author conveys the message of hope as the characters start to find happiness in their new journeys.
Overall, this was a great story. I loved the bond with the Bee sisters along with their new friends. It was a nice story that has it’s heartbreaking moments, but in the end leaves you and the character with renewed hope.
This book certainly provided a different perspective. Have you ever thought about the lives of the people who purchase from you if you are in the retail business? Just that thought has led me to look a little differently at the people I meet each day. This is a good book. The stories which intertwine throughout the book offer mystery, romance, reality, and love. Some chapters put me on the edge of my seat while others were "sit back, relax, and enjoy". A box of tissues was needed occasionally, too. I would recommend this book for a great summer read!! This book was provided to me at no cost for the purpose of providing a review.
I happened upon this by chance and I’m so thankful that I did! Bees Flowers is beautifully written. It will make you laugh, cry, scream, and just feel everything.
I Unexpectedly devoured this book! I could not put it down and loved the intertwining of the stories. This book leaves the reminder that life is short, you never know what someone is going through, and lean on others in times of need.
I purchased this book because of the amazing reviews on Amazon and oh boy, they were all right. This book is fantastic, the story is so beautiful and full of emotions, I I couldn't put this down until I ended. The characters are so real and so well writen that you can easily find yourself or a friend reflected on them, you start to love and care for them. Amazing book.
Get your tissues ready guys because tbis one will really pull at the heart strings. The characters are so vibrant and special, each one leaving a mark on you as you read. The Bee sisters are so strong and independent while turning to others for help when needed. I felt the author did a great job tackling really hard topics, shining light on things others might be afraid to address. She handles it perfectly in my opinion. Well done!
I loved the intertwining lives of all the characters, and all of their separate stories. I laughed a lot, and I cried more than a few times. Highly recommend!
I truly enjoyed reading this book. It revolves around a quaint flower shop, its owners, some of the friends they make because of it, and how their lives become intertwined. Its a story about love and its many facets of living and loss, the dark sides and the bright sides of people, and the important role that family and friends play in a person’s life. But its also about the importance of opening up to others and sharing of self in order to move along, get through, or accept the circumstances of life. The characters are a joy to get to know and follow through their stories. As a flower lover myself, i especially enjoyed all the references to flowers and their importance to the lives of the characters in the book. The author also uses types of flowers as reference points for chapters, which was an interesting way to develop stages of the characters. The Bee-girls, Stacia and Rachel, were a great foundation on which to build the story, as they were charismatic, loved what they did, and always had room for others in their lives. I received a free copy of this book from the author and Voracious Readers Only in return for an honest review, which this has been.
Bee’s Flowers was a surprise. I did not expect the strong opening chapter and I found myself drawn to the characters right away. My heart went out to Eleanor as I had heard and seen her story so many times with family members and friends. Molly touches my heart and Corlet Dawn intermingles the character connections nicely.
Bee’s Flowers takes on a life of its own as author Corlet Dawn introduces the characters’ lives as they make their purchase at the flower shop. Slowly, the stories unfold, and the flower shop has taken on a new meaning. A beautiful touching novel that warms your heart, renews your spirit, and make you truly think about what matters most…Life!
Hope, family, renewed love, pain and loss, and the challenges of life are all wrapped up into this heartwarming book. Good read.
Book review!!!!! Bee’s Flowers was sent to us by its author, Corlet Dawn. We cannot express how grateful we are when we receive these gifts for reading and reviewing 💗💗💗 This book kind of through me for a loop. I admit that I had a hard time getting through the first little bit because reading about domestic violence makes me so sad. I kept with it though and am sooooo glad I did. The book is not centered around domestic violence but it does play a role in one of several storylines. This book is about two sisters who run a flower shop and all of the customers that come through regularly to purchase flowers for various reasons. I really became interested in the lives of these characters. There was some laughter and crying happening throughout the entire book. I truly can’t wait to read more from Corlet. If you are looking for a short, sweet and emotional read, we hope you give this book a try!!
Once you open the pages of this book prepare to fall in love with the characters. Even the one (or ones) you initially believe you are going to hate. Given time, every one of them finds a place in your heart. Sadness, anger and yes, hate, all have a role to play. In the end, each of us has to give strength to the stronger powers of love and friendship and acceptance and endurance and coming to peace. This is one of those where you will often find yourself saying "one more chapter" and not be willing to set it down for another hour or so. You will shed tears as you read this book. It will touch something individual inside of your emotions. Overall, you will be so happy you took a chance and I am so excited that this is marked Book ONE so I have a continuation of the story to look forward to.
I absolutely adore this novel. I often found that I couldn't keep my eyes dry for very long as I continued to read it.
Much like Love Actually, these characters share a lovely little Flower shop run by two sister's. That flower shop brings joy where so much pain seemed to reside. Nobody's story was light or fluffy. Each story hit me right in the heart because they allowed me to view the different avenues of pain that most people face.
Just like the blurb suggests, you really do rethink the beauty of flowers, the ways they are used and, most importantly, what they can mean to people.
I honestly cannot wait to read more by Corlet Dawn.
*I recieved this novel for free in exchange for an honest review by way of Voracious Readers Only *
I am absolutely in love with the layout of the stories that this author has included in this book. It takes the lives of several different people and throughout the book they become part of each other's stories. It was a tear jerker, it was romantic, it was funny. I enjoy a wide range of genres, but this will be a favorite of mine due to the creativeness that the author has come up with to tell the story of all the characters in this book. I look forward to more from this new and upcoming author!!
Finished Bee’s Flowers!! I am so sad to have it end; I liked it THAT much. ❤️
I love to read and read a lot so feel I am a pretty good judge of a story. This was so good. Your including tough and painful subjects was so refreshing and the ideas you had throughout the book for Molly’s flowers and memorial was just so creative.
In the end I felt the story was pulled together into a tight bouquet of beautiful people and emotions. I truly will miss these people I have come to know and love. Cannot wait for Book Two. 💐❤️

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through Voracious Readers Only.
This was a beautifully written book. It was well thought out, the characters were detailed and deep. The stories of each character felt so REAL, and deeply personal. It was a gift to be able to read this. The photos in tho book, and how the flowers played a part throughout the stories and lives of the characters was amazing, and beautiful. I would highly recommend this one, I would also suggest having tissues or a handkerchief available.
Bee's Flowers was a very good book. It grabbed me with the first chapter. It had strong characters. It made me feel happy, sad and strong love. I feel Corlet used some life experience in this book. It showed me how love and family can bring people together. Also how different types of counseling can help to heal people. That you can pull hope from tragedy. I loved how the flower shop brought people together and intertwined their lives. It brought many chuckles and a few tears. I will be reading the next book soon. Chris Benton
August 2019 Book Club selection: I had high hopes for this book because it was by a local author. It fell flat for me and for the majority of Book Club. The characters needed more depth. The stories needed more interest. We read The Language of Flowers in the past and I think we were all hoping for the flowers and their meanings to be more prominent. It was a quick easy read, but not one of my favorites.
I’ve loved what I read. You can easily connect with the characters and feel for them. I laughed and wanted to cry. There were several times where I had to stop reading so I could gather myself and tell my heart it was going to be ok. Corlet has done an amazing job with her first book and I can’t wait to see what else she’ll release.
What a beautiful book! Loved how the characters were developed, each having their own story intertwined with the next. Some moments made me laugh out loud, while others brought me to tears. Any book that can evoke physical emotion is something special. This is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This is a wonderful first book from newcomer Corlet Dawn. The characters are real to life and face realistic struggles. The way she weaves the narrative through the Flower Shop so that all characters intersect/ support each other makes for a truly charming book! I would definitely recommend this book for anyone that loves a good story, great characters and a heart tug!
I was surprised by this story as my first impression was of an immature writer, learning the ropes. I didn't think I would be finding characters well-fleshed out or concepts dealt out through the end. But as a reader I found I was sent through a wide range of emotions and was given characters I wanted to continue to know. This was a satisfying read.
This is a great idea for a story. Rachel and Stacia are the Bee sisters. They have a flower shop where readers will find what feels like a collection of short stories as they follow several charachters and what they deal with after their visit to the flower shop. I found the book touching and fun.
Bee's Flowers is a thought provoking book.It has friendships, relationships with their ups and downs. It has sorrow, love, FLOWERS for all the recovering. The Bee's family is absolutely the greatest friend.to have..
By far, the best book I have ever read. The book tugged at my heartstrings, I loved the concept, characters, and emotional development. During the first chapter I was beyond hooked, it was hard for me to put the book down.
A lovely story of strength and vulnerability, loss and hope, friendship and family. Enjoyed this debut novel by Corlet Dawn. I look forward to reading more from her.
