Wowzas!! Well this book put me through the wringer. Please excuse me whilst I go and sleep for a week. This book right here threw everything it possibly could at me. I feel like I'm suffering from whiplash with the fumbled attempts the heroine endured as she was thrown into one situation after another. But because of this I was glued to my ipad throughout wanting/needing to know the outcome.

Alright. Accountability time. Why have those of you that knew that I've never read a Monica James book not slapped me upside the head with one of her books yet? hmm? You should be ashamed of yourselves! Ashamed, I tells ya! Because this girl? Is currently kicking her own ass for only now discovering this author.
Let's be real here. The mere second that I laid my eyes on that blurb and this cover, I knew this would be my first Monica James book. I'm a sucker for a dark romance. But add in a good captive scenario and stick a fork in me. I'm done!
Having never read this author, I had no idea what to expect from this book. I know that I tend to be ridiculously picky when it comes to dark romance and I was a little nervous with reading it from a new to me author. But my worries soon floated away on the waves of emotion that this story brought! Holy...WOW.
While you spend the majority of the book in Willow's head, you also get an incredibly unique glimpse of Saint. And let me just tell you, friends, you will be frothing at the mouth for this man. He's an incredible enigma of violence and hidden pain. Everything about him is shrouded in mystery and you're utterly desperate to peel back all of his many layers and get an answer for the million questions that will be running through your head as you turn the pages.
If you're like me, and like your heroines to be fierce fighters that don't give up in even the most dire of circumstances, you're going to love Willow. Here's a woman that gets kidnapped on her wedding night, thrown on a boat, threatened within an inch of her life, and told she's going to be the property of some cruel Russian mobster, yet she never stops fighting. The more you learn about the puzzle pieces that led to her current picture, the more desperate you'll be to get to the next page.
Saint is certainly no saint in Willow's world. This is a man that's responsible for her current circumstances. He's cruel, cold, and conditioning her for a man that's promised to be even worse. But beneath that rough masked exterior, there are glimpses of a man that's something...more.
How do you fall for a criminal who you never even get to understand beyond his words and actions as seen through Willow's eyes. I don't know, but I know that I did. There's just something so magnetic about Saint. Something so vulnerable that you can't help but glimpse in his actions and words. You want to hate him for the things he does, but you just can't.
There were a few parts of the story where I felt like the descriptions became too much and got in the way of the story's pacing. But ultimately, I was just too invested in the story to pay it much mind.
Bad Saint was deliciously dark and utterly captivating. I was totally enraptured in this world and by the time the ending came, my emotions were so up and down, I didn't know what to do with myself. And then that ending happened!!!! SWEET MOTHER OF ALL THAT'S HOLY I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!!

One word to describe this book - ridiculous...
I was really interested in reading this ;
- blurb was good
-it is a RARE author that I want to give a chance
BUT...
- why can't someone be a virgin just because, without some heartfelt reason
-why can't hero be a bad guy bc he is a bad guy
- characters are caricatures which can be fine to an extent just have some measure; is not that I expected that much but this was an "I can't take anymore, please stop"
- the hero is a professor, to show he is smart!! but then he became Russian mobster's right-hand hitman because he has his sister kidnapped so obviously, that mobster blackmails hero - an American professor to be his assassin
-heroine oh where to start... I don't even need to talk about Stockholm syndrome romance I was rolling my eyes waaaay before, because she is a runway model who is 5 ft 6 well okay maybe she is a special snowflake...she is a small town girl that lived in LA and worked around the world for seven years and I don't understand... I don't understand how she comes off so idiotic & naive..
- she marries a guy after two weeks and doesn't have a single person to notice that she is missing
Soon this becomes Blue Lagoon where our leading couple spends a month or so on the beach/deserted island...she gets a pet chicken..because that is very important, to have a pet!! not only not to eat it but endanger your life for a chicken...
Sorry chicken but the survivor of the fittest and all that jazz... I don't get this & what should I feel towards heroine...
It is safe to say that I am not interested in the rest of the story...
Sorry, this is a mess... Anyway, my honest opinion is if you will read this don't expect much and don't try to be logical about it...
Like why didn't they go on honeymoon to Russia so she can be there easily abducted without all this travel...
Okay, I will stop now...

so basically, this is blue lagoon but darker.
ok so first of all, the cover is so pretty like wow.
second, i have no idea why, but the MCs and their situation reminded me of Lorcan and Elide from Empire of Storms?? but just from that book though. i have no idea what these characters went through in Kingdom of Ash as i haven't read that yet. and yes, I do ship Lorcan and Elide.
third, i really really liked this! obviously, there are some fucked up things happening here and i don't condone some of the things the H did to the h at all (sleeping with OW in front of her, "punishing" her, and you know, KIDNAPPING her because she was sold into slavery and shipping her off to his boss) but he seemed likeable and i'm pretty soft when it comes to mysterious H's AND he redeemed himself imo, which is a plus.
and the heroine? well imma just show you why i loved her:
“You can break my body. It’s only a shell. But my spirit, you will never touch. That will always belong to me. So I’m ready. Do your best. Take me to Russia and deliver me to your boss, but know that I will never stop fighting for my freedom. I will never stop trying to break free.”

i wasn't expecting this to have a little action/adventure( travelling the seas and being stuck in an island) and i was all for it.
so, onto the next one!

I have so much that I want to say about Bad Saint but so much that I can't say because I don't want to accidentally give anything away. Which means I've pretty much been doing nothing but staring at my laptop for the past twenty minutes trying to think of the words to describe this book and so far all I've come up with is - more please!
This is the type of book that while I'm reading I'm constantly telling myself to stop lusting over the psycho. Saint was such a large energy in this story and from the beginning I found myself captivated and sucked into that energy. He is not a character that you will swoon over at sweet or loving moments. No, Saint is the hero that acts completely savage and ruins your panties. Aka one of the bestheroes anti-heroes out there. He was unpredictable and constantly surprising me. When I thought he was going be rough and mean, he added some softness, and when I thought he was going to finally see Willow as more than his captive, he was doing something to break her. I couldn't keep up with his back and forth moods buy holy hell was it brilliant. He kept me on my toes the whole book and I loved that experience.
As for Willow, she was kickass. I really liked seeing how she didn't back down from the fight and even though Saint tried, he couldn't break her spirit. It's also what had me dying to see her and Saint together as more than kidnapper/kidnappee since they both had such strong personalities. I just know that they're going to explode together so it's going to be a very impatient wait for more of their story.
Bottom line, this story took me on one crazy ride and it's one I think anyone that likes dark romance should give a try. There's clearly so much more to come from these characters so I'm really excited to get the next installment of their story.

Sins, bad decisions, and the ultimate pent up anger of lust that will have you fighting for more, Monica James knows how to balance the cruelty and passion in one...
There is a lot that can be said about an author who truly knows how to write a proper dark romance. At one point in my life I was craving all the dark romances that I could find thanks to the gruesome yet addicting novels by Penelope Douglas that never seem to disappoint. That being said, Monica is an author that has surprised me in the best and worst of ways. Knowing her writing now, I feel confident on saying that Monica knows how to slay the angst and dark passion between two characters. I will be honest however... it did take me a good solid while to connect with the characters because there was something off about Saint, but after reading more and getting to know him more in depth I can officially say that he is just down right a filthy, alpha male god! I want more of him, and now that I know how much he has up his sleeve there is no denying that he is quite an intriguing yet gruesome character. I want more of him...
There is so much mystery in this novel that I was taken aback at how much I actually did enjoy it! The surprises always come when it comes down to Monica, and sometimes you never what to expect because Willow... Oh dear goodness, this character had me in KNOTS! That empowering character that she is, it's what really drew me in for more of her. As previously mentioned, the mystery is there and so is the angst between Willow and Saint. That invisible boundary of lust and passion is what kept me flowing for more, and that forbidden aspect to the story is also present as Willow is to be handed over to another man.
In Saint's eyes, his hold on her is something that he wants to keep and not pass along. He knows that the connection he has with Willow is one that he cannot seem to get out of. The possessive alpha in him is what truly makes me such a drool worthy of a character. There is a lot of character build up as well that sometimes had me questioning the motives of Saint, but overall that ending... Geesh! I was blown away!
Overall, Monica has indeed created this new world that is full of potential and an ideal point of view when it comes down to dark romances. Sign me up for the next novel. No spoilers on here for sure because if you want to know what happens, if you want to know how dark this dark romance gets, if you were intrigued by the synopsis, if you are into angsty romances that will have you ripping your last hairs out, then I can promise you that this is the ideal novel for you. Thank you to Monica, my favorite Aussie author who knows me and I know her for sending a copy over that have my hands itching for the second novel!

This was not the worst and I understand what Stockholm Syndrome is but... there was too much stupid stuff going on for me to enjoy this as much as everybody else did.
Willow is kidnapped and abused but is constantly noticing Saint’s chiseled abs and heat and golden skin,... the list is endless of how perfect this man is. And every other guy who came within a 5 mile radius of her was ugly, smelly, had at least 6 teeth missing and dirty fingernails. Except of course for Saint who, for 100% of the pages in this book, had excellent personal hygiene and always smelled nice and clean. The guy could have used her hair as toilet paper and she would still be okay with it because he has awesome tats and an amazing body.
I have book two and I’m hoping this will be a little better.

I always start these kinds of reviews with the same preface: dark reads are hard to pull off. Ergo, I'm giving full props to Monica James for giving me a messed-up story that I could sink my teeth into.
Plot: Willow is taken from her secluded Greek villa while on her honeymoon. One of her abductors is more reluctant than the others. Over the course of Willow's nightmare, we find out why.
Oh, man! I LOVED the relationship between Willow and Saint. Their physical, mental, and emotional cat and mouse games kept me glued to the pages.
I have to round down though, because some of the 'action' events were downright silly and/or convenient. However, I was so caught up in the plot that I was mostly willing to let these kinds of things go.
I've already started book 2!

But Saint scares me in a different way. I'm not fearful for my life when I'm with him. I'm fearful for my soul.The author did such a good job of keeping Saint on the right side of the alpha line without sacrificing the dark themes of the story. Fabulous stuff.
I have to round down though, because some of the 'action' events were downright silly and/or convenient. However, I was so caught up in the plot that I was mostly willing to let these kinds of things go.

Monica James is my new favorite author. I enjoyed her Monster Within series. She really can write dark, drity, gritty and heart breaking romance. She done it again with Bad Saint.
This is really gritty, dark romance. I am not a stranger when it comes to abduction romance. Miss James gives us Saint. The anti hero. Or noble hero. I can not decide. I am not a fan with Willow. She is needy and spoil bitch sometimes.
Since this is trilogy, I want to wait and see how Willow's character grew in the next book. I have a feeling Willow is the one who saves Saint at the end.

This is really gritty, dark romance. I am not a stranger when it comes to abduction romance. Miss James gives us Saint. The anti hero. Or noble hero. I can not decide. I am not a fan with Willow. She is needy and spoil bitch sometimes.
Since this is trilogy, I want to wait and see how Willow's character grew in the next book. I have a feeling Willow is the one who saves Saint at the end.
The twist and the plot is thick. It is a perfect combination for this kind of dark romance.

Dark, gritty, and deliciously sinful.
Bad Saint is a story filled to the top with violence and betrayal, but also with hope, a feeling that makes the characters determined to survive and keep going.
From hatred to lust—the contradicting emotions evoked in Willow and Saint consumed me from beginning to end. Monica James took me on a captivating, suspenseful ride with a brave heroine and a broody, enigmatic antihero that will make you forget time and space, only craving the next chapter.
As I inched closer to the last chapters, I was fearful, anxious, totally involved with the story to the point where there were not one, but two captives—Willow and I.
If you like dark romances, I think you will enjoy this one as well. I personally can't wait to see what's next for them.

Wow!!! What can I say I loved this book from beginning to end. Willow is a young beautiful girl who is on her Honeymoon and is taken by three masked men. Her husband tries to help her but is beaten by one of the men. What happens next is a story of betrayal, survival and lust. Willow is a fantastic character she is strong willed, feisty and her desire to survive over rides everything. She is definitely no damsel and is one of my favorite h's. Saint is one of the masked men and he's delicious. He is definitely not what he seems, he carries many secrets and while at times he's mean he's also compassionate. Willow will surprise him at every turn and their dynamic will definitely change over time. Overall awesome book one that I would definietly reccomend and a new to me author that I will definielty start stalking. The story ends on a cliffhanger but I already started book 2.

From the first moment I laid eyes on Bad Saint by Monica James I just knew I had to have this book in my life. Bad Saint looked and sounded so amazingly suspenseful and dark, something I was definitely looking for. I can confirm that it was better than I could’ve ever expected. I was captivated from the very first moment and I could not put this story down. It was such an addictive and intriguing story of secrets, lies, darkness, emotional heartache and beautiful intense moments full of passion. This was a sit on the edge of your seat rollercoaster read that was as angsty as it was dark. Days later and I’m still thinking back on the tumultuous journey that Monica took me on and I’m so thankful for the dark and disturbed path she carved out for us.
“We have bonded over the most heinous circumstances, but somehow, under the horror, I’m stronger. I could have surrendered to the darkness, and I almost did.”
Willow… wow, how fierce is she? Willow is probably one of the most kickass heroin’s I have read in a really long time. I was drawn into absolutely every aspect of her; her willpower, her strength, her integrity, her independence and her promise to never be anyone’s victim.
Willow is captured on her honeymoon by three men; 2 Russians and an American and this is where she meets the enigma Saint. During this dark and twisted journey Willow begins being drawn more and more towards the dark and tortured anti-hero who captured her and their connection between one another is intense and full of unbridled passion and lust. While Willow knows she should be fighting to survive, she is torn between craving her freedom and craving for Saint.
“When I was “normal,” I never wanted someone as much as I want her. I don’t know what to do because each day, the thought of letting her go evokes a possession I thought long dead.”
Saint is by far the best anti-hero I have ever read and while at times I wanted to punch him, just like Willow, I was drawn to him in the most fascinating way. He is a man shrouded by so much mystery and guilt and the more I read about him, the more I understood his reasonings and I found myself feeling quite sympathetic towards him. His powerful connection towards Willow and their electrifying chemistry almost made my kindle spontaneously combust, it was seriously off the charts hot. I positively and irrevocably adored Saint and one of the things I loved most about him was his possessiveness and his alpha male hotness, he is seriously hot enough to make anyone weak at the knees. You want to read a book with the perfect anti-hero, then look no further than Saint, he has it all.
Bad Saint captivated me instantly and I was automatically catapulted into the dark and disturbed world that Monica had skillfully crafted through her intense plot, her mesmerizing and beautifully articulated words, which I felt right down to my very core, and the characters she created who made this story the mysterious and captivating journey that it was. I wait with bated breath for Volume two of this epic trilogy to see how the story of Willow and Saint progresses. I thank the immensely talented Monica James for bringing Willow and Saint into my world as this is one unforgettable story that all lovers of dark romances should one click.

Can't say I hated it but can't say I loved it either. I like kidnapping abuse trope , mafia /crime genre I really do, check my shelves and see for yourself, but it felt a bit lacking here.
We have Willow who is kidnapped during her honeymoon (a marriage she accepted after dating for 6 weeks *rolling eyes*). She is taken on a yacht ready to be transported to the man/master she was sold to. One of the kidnappers is Saint,our H of this book. He is drawn to her and so is she to him.
When they get stranded on this island after sinking the yacht the things slowly change between this two, we get to see why Saint's cold and hot behavior was exactly like that, his motives and his reasoning. He is a troubled soul, I fell for him, I understand him. Willow is strong but annoying in the same time, she is impulsive and pleaseeeee 25 yo virgin? bitch please!
Ok ...and this woman is whimpering a lot it seems!! when she smells him, when she sees him, when she brushes by him, when she orgasms, whenever something happens, that is what she does. whimper , whimper , I swear this word is used over and over again that drove me crazy! I am pretty sure English language must have another synonyms for this because mannnn! its annoying AF! She needs to get a grip on her vajayjay and feelings already.
Its suspenseful, a bit dark, dom-sub themes, angst and drama.
It end with a cliffhanger , the Master arrives , and honestly I m more intrigued by Alek than the main characters.

Just beginning their honeymoon the unimaginable happens she meets another man with chartreuse color eyes but this man has a mask and now is her kidnapper. I found out I was sold by my new husband from a poker that he lost. Saint the kidnapper is now my trainer for my new owner a Russian mob boss that likes new pretty toys but Willow is done being a victim. However when Willow starts to have feelings for her captor, what will happen when she is delivered to the Russian mob boss? A page turner as twist & turns with suspense happens leave you begging for more.

This book will make you think twice before you decide to step out of the comfort of your home and into the night alone. You never know if a bad man will catch you!!
It’s not the case with our heroine here though...
Cause all she could do was whimper and wiggle in shock and horror as she stood witness to her life being turned upside down from being a happy married woman to a hostage held captive by three scary looking captors in mere seconds. I don’t blame her for being all helpless. You never know when and where you’re about to get kidnapped, and I also can’t throw a punch.
Willow’s lapse in judgment when she decided to marry her husband had gotten her into this unfortunate predicament. Fortunately, one mistake didn’t make her less smart. She kept proving in this book that she had the strength and determination to escape from her captors. I admire that she never gave up as she tried to pull all kinds of strings to get herself free from her kidnappers.
However, her resolve began to waver as she developed a bond with one of the captors, who ironically enough was named Saint. Now like in any other similar romance books, he was a deliciously good looking and dangerous dude. Part of what made me and us readers drawn to him was that he was an enigma. I mean, no one likes a bad case of tortured alpha male more than me. Everything about him screamed cruel, cold, and violent, but he was also laced with pain and vulnerability. Even though everything I gathered about Saint I only saw through Willow’s eyes, something about him just felt hypnotic.
I really enjoyed the heck out of this book despite the extreme conflict of “getting trafficked by random dudes to be supposedly the sex slave of a wealthy Russian mob boss.” It was disgusting and a total nightmare, but I guess things like that is not impossible in real life. Willow was a true kick ass. She was a fierce fighter. I loved her and Saint’s interactions and when both were trapped in a deserted island together. As much as I relished in their romance, at times I did feel like the plot could’ve moved around more quickly.
One of the things that concerned me was the “sexual acts” Saint performed on Willow when he was “deciplining and training her for the master.” I hope he doesn’t take the BDSM route in the next book cause I’m really not into that concept and don’t want to read about it. Also, the amount of attempted rape on Willow from all those strange men they met along their boat ride was so jarring it was ridiculous cause it was a little hard to believe. I guess, the world really is full of perverts and rapists.

CAN WE GET A ROUND Of APPLAUSE GOING FOR THIS BOOK!? Holy wow this was epic. When I first read the blurb I thought it definitely sounded intriguing, but man!!! I had no idea what I was in for!
Willow is starting her honeymoon with her new husband when she is kidnapped and taken by a group of masked men. Confused and scared, she’s left to fend for herself on a boat with her captors as she tries to unravel the mystery of why she was taken.
Secrets start to be revealed as you dive deeper into the story, and there are definitely some jaw dropping moments!
Our main girl, Willow, is fierce and strong and refuses to give in to her captors. She’s refusing to go down without a fight and I love that about her!
And while in the beginning you try to not like Saint, it becomes increasingly hard not to. I mean come on, how can you resist the guy?
This book is definitely a five star read! I need the second book ASAP after that cliffhanger ending!!

Although I really love the sea, after finishing Bad Saint, I was in desperate need for Stugeron tablets!!!
Before the midst of the 1st chapter until the end, the plot was developed on or near the sea!
Willow was kidnapped and shoved in a boat where the plot evolves until chapter 7 and from chapter 8 to the end Willow and Saint were stranded on a desert island trying to survive (and not only).
The storyline was dragging and somewhere in the sea my interest sank...
Although I really love the sea, after finishing Bad Saint, I was in desperate need for Stugeron tablets!!!

I’ve been a dedicated fan of Monica James’s writing for years now and when I heard about Bad Saint I was thrilled! The fact she ventured into dark romance for the first time, one of my absolute favorite genre, had my anticipation reaching new peaks! After this exceptional read, I can honestly say that this author can write anything with the same impact! This read is dark, seductive, thrilling and had me on the edge of my seat awaiting the next bombshell. During all this wild ride of gritty violence, the author still achieves to create engaging protagonists and deliver all the feels!
"He just destroyed me in one breath, and in another, he offered me kindness. This man is my tormentor, but by the same token, he's also the only person who can give me the answers I so desperately seek."
I can genuinely declare that Saint is one of my newest favorite anti-hero! That man is so mouth-watering! He’s exactly the type of character I love, with a dark aura of mystery but so much worth knowing. He’s certainly complex with his contradictory behaviour! I was so enchanted by this commanding, powerful, cruel man! Underneath his callous actions, there is always some beauty in the way he treats Willow! It’s clear that he’s her captor, but he’s also her protector! I enjoyed the small revelations here and there about his motives to be this bad. Saint is the epitome of tall, dark and dangerous, but I also enjoy his arrogance and the flirty moments shared with Willow.
As much as I am enamored with Saint, Willow is his perfect match! You would think that after being abducted and treated so poorly she would cower, but no. She shows so much bravery. Yes, she has moments that she’s so broken and that made me hurt, but she still finds a way to outshine all the darkness. Her impetuous and sassy attitude toward Saint had me so entertained. She knows he’s a scary man, but she also sees the good in him and certainly seize the opportunity to make his life difficult with her defiance!
This couple is spectacular in every way! The development of their relationship is perfectly paced and had me fervently invested. Their relationship starts with hostility and simmering temptation, but transforms into hope and utter beauty! They’re stunning and bare their tangible attraction with passionate scenes! There’s also emotional moments shared between them, where their connection is awe-inspiring!

Bad Saint is without a doubt a sensational start to the All the Pretty Things Series. I honestly adored everything about this story and can’t wait to get my hands on the next novel. I’m addicted to these characters and can’t wait to see what’s next for them! Must read, guys!!!

Welcome to Monica James twisted and mindfuck masterpiece! OHMILAWD! This is something you really don't want to miss. Body cringing and mind numbing, this book is a page turner and engaging at it's best. Whew!
It's been a year if I remember it correctly that I devour a book that tested my limits as if it was my last meal. Been too long too that I crave for something that will make me high with gory details and gritty scenes. So when I read the blurb of Bad Saint, man, I was on a HIGH! I was like, MONICA, SEND ME THE BOOK ASAP! Not for the fainthearted indeed as she outrightly placed in the blurb, because scenes after scenes were thought provoking, nefarious yet passionate but all in all will keep you in the edge, wanting for more!
Bad Saint is the first installment in the provocative and compelling trilogy of Monica James' "All The Pretty Things Trilogy. With her sublime writing style, it wasn't hard to be hooked right into the story. It just flowed flawlessly that I had an instant connection with her characters and the story itself. Let's be fucking real here though, when she said DARK ROMANCE, I was already a goner. It doesn't hurt either that she knows how to do her craft. She was good at plotting this intense wild ride. I was addicted to it and it was my first book of hers! *fist bump
Who wouldn't? She crafted characters you will not just enjoy reading from start to finish but make you fall in love with right there and then.
Ahhhh Saint, I can't even with him! Alpha sexiness to the nth level, I was drooling all over! I know Monica said there's a long line on Saint's fan out there, but holy moly, I want to call dibs on him! I love anti-hero and throw in some broken parts and dark soul, and I am a willing victim of his twisted ways and whatever makes him tick! Come on Saint, this is me, Annemarli and I know I need you in my life! Gah! I am head over heels in love with him! His struggles, his demons, and what he is fighting for. More than that, I adore how he is with Willow. Kill me now, but it juts turned my panties wet, every fucking time I read it. *Oh yes, I reread it 2x now. ;)
And then, there's Willow! Oh yassss, this is woman empowerment! Stubborn is an understatemrnt to describe her. Strong and resilient was what I thought of her. With a gruesome past after her father died in the hands of her "step-father", this woman right here, is betting some Sansa Stark in the making with her experience department after well, thinking she's got a life at last with unicorns and HEA sprinkled with confetti's and all that jazz. (Yes, GoT fans here). It wasn't the same though so don't get me wrong here. But,what went through after her failed honeymoon just had me cringing and wanting to rip my hair out. She's just badass, I tell you. Captured in the hands of someone you wanted to despise instead of falling in love? or in lust? with all the in betweens had me in the edge, this woman was just WOW!
Together, Saint and Willow was just explosive! As in, EXPLOSIVE! I wont talk anymore in fears of spoiling you. But know, that even with my vague review, this book is worth reading. With that cliffy, Lawd have mercy but I want to beg Monica again for the next book cuz I need it NOW!
Overall, I just don't love this book, I adore the author's writing too. Initially I said, no words... because no words can best describe on how good this book is and how Momica amazed me. I am not just captivated, I was addicted to it. This is the kind of book you want to reread over and over because it will affect you too much. It might not be close to home to you, but how it was written will just struck deep. It will be embedded in your system you'll have book hangover for days. Gahd, it's excruciating waiting for that next installment!

Whoa. What a dark and bumpy roller-coaster ride! It started off pretty innocuous and just builds from there until you are sitting at the edge of your seat to see what happens. Willow is put through the wringer and is still standing at the end of this first portion. Saint is an anti hero that you love to hate that you love...and I can't wait for more of this story!!

This follows the love story between Saint and Willow. Willow was originally kidnapped on her honeymoon. While her fiancé tells her to look out at the view on the patio. She finds herself taken by men and finds herself on a boat. She is bound and scared. She refuses to be a victim and finds her way for survival. Would recommend this novel if you would like a quick read.

I couldn’t finish this book - got to about 60% and was just too grossed out to continue. Idk sometimes I can handle dark romance but this book just didn’t work for me. It was too reminiscent of Stockholm syndrome. This dumb girl is getting wet over Saint for no apparent reason besides him just being there. Then...Saint fucking another girl in front of Chloe is probably what ruined this for me, I just can’t get behind that shit in my mind. I was permanently grossed out by him after that and can’t find him to be a Hero that I want to read about. Yuck. 🤢🤢

So I’m in the minority in this one it seems. The authors note at the beginning warns you this is a dark tale with triggers, but it’s actually a ridiculous tale where a 20-something 5’6 virgin fashion model, I can’t even remember her name, is kidnapped on her honeymoon in Greece by 3 men. Two Russian and one American named, Saint.
They travel by yacht to their destination in Russia and at only 8 days post kidnap, actually a little before, our victim is being turned on by Saint when he spanks her trying to “break her” for her new master, a Russian mobster named Aleksei. Things go awry on the way to Russia, and after being molested by one of her captors, nearly raped by sea pirates who boarded their vessel, and almost sold off to another group of foreigners our female lead is still a virgin and has yet to even be penetrated at the this point. Still waiting for all the darkness the author warned us about. Sound ridiculous yet? Saint saves her every time. She calls him her “warrior.” Yeah, not even at double digits days post kidnap. She doesn’t fight very hard and her dialogue and inner musings are ridiculous.
Beyond our heroine being an absolute moron, we have a very flimsy story line and reveal about how she came to be on the kidnappers radar. She continues to feel a connection with Saint and refuses to believe he is all bad. Hahaha
Lo and behold another near rape causes the two to be shipwrecked on an island for little over a month. Of course, there’s all the back and forth, but it’s mostly her being turned on by her kidnappers good looks and hard body. She’s always hawking at him. Even when he shows up out of nowhere to kidnap her she is mesmerized by his unusual eyes. Not sure about you, but when I get kidnapped I always notice their eyes first, too!!! But even more silly is the reveal of Saint’s motivations. Give. Me. A. Break.

I welcome a deafening thunderclap because it jolts me from my gawking. “It’ll pass,” Saint comforts me, which is strange as his assurance feels foreign. I nod in response, hugging my knees to my chest. “Are we safe in this thing?” He cocks his head to the side, a grin shaping those sinful lips. “I didn’t think you’d care if we capsized.” He’s right, I wouldn’t, especially after what Kazimir revealed today. But regardless, it feels strange seeing him smile. I don’t see it often, but it suits him.
I gave this one two stars because it had a good premise, but again it’s like Christmas around here because two stars is actually a freaking gift!

I gave this one two stars because it had a good premise, but again it’s like Christmas around here because two stars is actually a freaking gift!

OMG y’all this book is G-O-O-D Good!!!! I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!!
Bad Saint: All the Pretty Things Trilogy is the first book in this trilogy. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and the day it was delivered to my Kindle is the day I started reading it!
Willow has not had it easy in life. So, when she is kidnapped on her honeymoon she doesn’t make it easy for her kidnapper, Saint. She is a fighter and refuses to be a victim. Willow doesn’t make it easy for Saint. Saint is to take her to her buyer, a Russian mobster. They had a few detours on their journey because Willow wasn’t sitting down being a victim. She was trying to escape.
Now for Saint I just want to shake him until I found out why he was so determined to deliver Willow to her Russian buyer.
I ignored my family today to read Bad Saint and it had me glued to my seat!
Bad Saint is a must read if you love dark romances!
I knew going in that this book was the first book in this trilogy so, I shouldn’t have been surprised by the ending! 5 I gotta have the next book STARS!
