Ben's storytelling adventures started as a Production Assistant on the set of the film, A River Runs Throught It. After forgetting to bring the crew's walkie talkies, losing Robert Redford's jacket and asking Brad Pitt if he was related to Paul Newman (in front of Paul Newman) he decided that film production didn't "speak" to him. Since no one else on the set would speak to him either he knew he needed to find work that required minimal human contact.

Writing. That did the trick.

His three series, Shirley Link, The Camelot Kids and Relics appeal to young and old alike. Emily Neuburger of Parents.com says, "[Shirley Link] is an amazing series!" and Julie Ann Grasso (author of the Adventure of Caramel Cardamom books) says The Camelot Kids will "leave you clutching onto your Kindle." Stephen King says, "I'm not providing blurbs at this time," but Ben is chipping away at King's resolve.

Ben has taken up the writerly life in the Forbidden Forest at 42.5098° N, 72.6995° W.

The dynamic duo of Kane and Rebel return as they deal with the post apocalyptic world they are faced with after the massive attack by the god Set. . As usual, Kane has a master plan to set the world right again, but he must access memories that grow both dimmer and more clear every second that ticks by. The tightknit crew that he has compiled over their many adventures must branch out on their own to carry out their individual tasks to help save the world. They are pulling out all the stops bargaining with gods and goddesses, heroes, and heartbreak because this time may be different, this time they may not all make it back home. Grab your copy and hold on tight. It’s going to be a bumpy ride!

Exciting and riveting!

OMG, this book is amazing! It is one of the best Kane and Rebel books yet. It isn't often that you find a book that you can read intently, not put it down until the end, and then be floored by what happened. This book is that kind of book. I couldn't put it down and I wanted to keep reading. It is strong in magic and bantering back and forth between Rebel and Kane. Everything we've come to know and love. It is an intense read from beginning to the very jaw-dropping end. I enjoyed this book very much.

What do you do when the apocalypse has already happened? Keep fighting.
Kane, Rebel, and Dino do exactly that in the face of the end. Plans are hatched, dangles ensue, and perseverance is tested while fighting a seemingly unstoppable enemy, salvaging who and what they can, and navigating through deific machinations on both sides. Maybe saving one city can begin the turning of the tide.
An absolute fun journey that continues this truly underrated series.

This book is a must!

I know I say this every book but, seriously, they are on!I getting better! This is the best one in the series! Hand down.

I was not expecting the variety of emotions that I felt while reading this installment. It was funny and irreverent like the others, but it really hits you in the heart too.

I highly recommend this book and as always I want the next book NOW!!!

Fantastic rollercoaster of a ride.

This book is packed with all the great writing we’ve come to expect from Ben Zackheim. It had me holding my breath as I was thrown around the plane as it crashed. I laughed and I cried, but I couldn’t put it down. Another must read, but it’s a good idea to read the previous books in the series first to understand Kane and Rebel’s back story.

Very Punny Story with Action

What I like best about this story is that goals don’t come easily to the heroes. Even though some of them are supernatural or magical, they can’t just snap their fingers and destroy the enemy. Like Pandora said, “We can’t all get what we want.”
Humor, snark and an amazing ending. What more can you ask for?

Every book in the Kane Arkwright series is better than the last. When I first began reading the series, I honestly didn’t think I’d stick around for as long as I have, but there’s something addictive about Kane’s humor and his adventures. Looking back over the time I’ve been immersed in his world, I just now realized how much these books have helped me through an unexpectedly hard time in my life.

Not just the dumpster fire that 2020 has been, but also death and dementia (possible band name?) in my family. Anyway, I’m just really grateful to have their world to escape to when mine has gotten too rough. Perhaps it’s selfish of me, but I never want to see their story end.

The toughest challenge yet for Kane and Rebel. Good job they manage to get a god or two on their side in their quest for a fragment of scroll before Paris succumbs to the vampire's assault.
