If you like hot men in uniform doing naughty things to strong, smart women, this is the series for you!

He burned her once…

Sophie Gallo has survived a lot in her twenty-three years. Both parents gone, dreams abandoned, and a heart shattered. But she came out on the other side stronger than ever.

Then, one night with Luke in her bed… on her kitchen table… against the wall… made Sophie feel alive again. Right up until he ran before the bed stopped shaking. Seeing him every day at the Middleburg Police Station, thanks to her job as the office manager, is a special kind of torture. But she clings to her hate and anger, hiding her sadness and desire, even from herself.

She weakened him once…

Sergeant Luke McCracken lives to serve and protect. Not only the citizens of Middleburg, but also the woman who captivates him mind, body, and soul. Even if that means shielding her from the biggest threat to her happiness - himself.

Luke gave in to his lust once. But he won’t allow himself to be reckless with Sophie’s heart again. Though he can’t help but provoke her just to see her passion, even if it comes in the form of hatred. He’d live on nothing but the memories of their night together if it meant she’d have the life she deserved.

His town is being plagued by a rash of break-ins and an increase in drug overdoses, and his desk overflows with cases waiting to be solved. But never, in all the time he told himself to protect Sophie from the risks he presented, did he think she would find herself in danger from outside forces.

One night with her stole his heart, one dispatcher call stopped it.

This is book 1 in the new Blue Line series, all featuring a different hot police officer at the Middleburg Police Station. Each book can be read as a stand alone.

This was an ok, short read for me. I finished it off on my lunch break at work. It had steam, an alpha police officer hero and a likable heroine.
-no cheating
-no ow/om drama
-pushing away by hero with a 2 year separation - for those interested, neither had sex with others but the hero did kiss other women "to forget the heroine" but it turned him off
-steam
-no excessive violence of any nature
-short epilogue 6 months out that left us with a HFN feeling. I would have definitely needed more of their future

This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I'm still fanning myself. This is the first book in the Blue Line series. I could not put this book down. It only took me three hours to read this addictive book. It is about one hundred pages but it has everything you wanted and more.

Sophie Gallo had a hard life growing up and now she just lost her other parent. She was in a bad place in her life until she saw the hot cop Luke. They had instant chemistry so much that they made love on all of her house surfaces. That night was perfect until he just ran out of her house without any explanation. He took her heart, body, and soul with him that night. A couple of years go by and now she has to see Luke every day now. They both work at the same police station. She hides her emotions from him. She still has feelings for him but she doesn't know why. It is torture watching him everyday. Thats what happens when you mix business with pleasure. Will she ever tell Luke how she feels or will she keep it inside and move on?

Luke McCraken is now the sergeant of his town’s police force. He is to serve and protect. He is loved by everyone including the women. The only woman he really wants is Sophie. He feels like he doesn't deserve her and he is protecting her from him. He has some commitment issues. He loves giving Sophie a hard time just to see the passion in her eyes. Luke is now focused on this one case. There has been some major break ins that is leading to dead ends. His life is now for solving this case but will someone close to him get put into danger because of him? Will he ever let go of his issues and go after his girl or will he let her slip away?

This book was a really easy and fun read. It has a lot of action and some hot scenes in this story. I love Sophie she is a strong woman that always looks on the bright side. Luke is a little arrogant in the beginning but when you get to know him you'll love him too. I love that this was also in both of their point of views. I love that you read the story from both sides. The characters Luke and Sophie felt like real people to me. He is a cop and she is a assistant to the force. They both deal with a lot of hard times but that is life. This author knows how to leave you wanting more. I am so excited to see what happens next. I am already counting down the days for book two.

Reckless Conduct by Brandy Ayers a thrilling five-star read, this is the first book in the Blue Line Series, and what a first book, I can’t wait for the next book in the series Possession, the books are based around the people who work at the Middleburg Police Station. This book focuses on Sophie Gallo a 23 year-old-office manager at the police station, and one of the Officers Sergeant Luke McCracken who loves to protect and serve his community. They both have very strong connections to the station and service.
Sophie has been through a lot in her few years on this planet, she has lost both of her parents as well as given up her dreams, when she needed a job to pay the bills her uncle helped her get the office manager job at the station, it’s not what she wants to do, but it’s what she needs to do. Sophie has been broken but she came out the other side stronger than ever. After a game of poker, she spends one night with Luke and it changes everything, she goes from thinking he’s funny and cute to thinking thinks like Arrogant, Annoying, A**, but she also can’t help thinking Infuriatingly attractive. Even after everything it’s a fine line between love and hate.
Luke McCracken lives to protect and serve, and he has wanted Sophie since the first moment that she stepped into the department, but he also knows he must do everything he can to protect her, he gave in to his lust once but he knows he can’t do it again. He must protect her from himself and the life he leads, the only problem is he doesn’t think about other things that could put her in danger, like the rising crime rates in Middleburg, something he is trying to combat but one man can’t do everything. One night and one call will change his life forever.
This is a thrilling read, its passionate and caring and sucks you deep, its hot and heavy but in a very sensual manner rather than just overt and fake.

Reckless Conduct Blue Line Book One

4 stars

So this was a super quick read that is the first of a series. I mean it took me an hour to read it … so yes short. BUT .. the story line was good. I did think it seemed somewhat rushed in events between Sophie and Luke but you have to remember the titles are adding time to the events. I cant really say much about the story as it would give things away. However I can tell you there are some really great secondary characters.

The read is a strong female and an arrogant male lead until …… you will be somewhat infuriated with the man for sure. The story revolves around police officers which is great – there is a speck of drama which again was not bad … it was enough to keep me turning the pages.

Sophie hasn’t had a easy trek of it. Her loss of family was heartbreaking and to hear all she did for her lost loved one. What she endured made her stronger and I loved the intro of she and Luke cutting up playing poker.

I shouldn't say I didn't like Luke because I did. He is one of those love to hate guys. I would have laughed at his antics in the sense of "holy hell you are a jackass" type thing. However I would have called his bluff at his antics towards Sophie as well. You can tell there is a reason for his banter-ass ways.

Click this one up for a quick read with no cliffhanger. Loved it and look forward to more. Thank you Brandy for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Reckless Conduct is the first book in a brand new series by Brandy Ayers and was a short read that had me entertained from the start. It didn’t take me long to read this book but found that it was the perfect amount of pages because it was able to deliver a very cute story that had me laughing and smiling throughout it. There were some parts within the story that had me at the edge of my seat and I couldn’t read fast enough to find out what happened next.

Lucas was a swoon worthy character that had me laughing a lot throughout the story. I laughed at the banter that he had with the other officers at the police station and the banter he had with the main female Sophie.

Sophie had experienced a lot of grief in the story and I found the fact that she was a strong character. I enjoyed the banter that she had with Lucas and the relationships that she had with the other people in the police station.

Reckless Conduct is about the police officer Lucas and the police chiefs niece Sophie who share one night together which leave Sophie heart broken. However, years go by and the attraction between them continues to grow stronger, despite Lucas trying to keep himself from giving in to Sophie again. However, when the violence that threatens the people of town threatens Sophie changes Lucas belief that Sophie is better of without him.

Overall, I found that this was an enjoyable read that featured some sexy Police officers. I am excited to see what happens next in the series and found that Reckless Conduct was a promising start to this new series.

Reckless Conduct is a hot, sexy, quick read that you can easily read in an hour or so. I must say, Luke could frisk and cuff me any day of the week, lord this may is one sexy cop. Sophie was feisty, was pissed at Luke and for good reason and I loved how she gave as good as she got when he would aggravate her. Hell if it were me, Luke would have been somehow cuffed to the bars, naked in a holding cell as pay back for what he does to Sophie, but in the end he does win me back over. Reckless Conduct is the first book in this series and if they are all as hot as this one was, then we are all in for a treat!

Sophie Gallo is stumbling through her life. Both of her parents are gone and is left with a broken heart. Her uncle Chief of Police Gallo stepped in to raise her and he got her a job at Middleburg police station as office manager. She picked herself up and refused to let life get in her way or get her down. One night at the bar Sophie and Luke McCracken (her boss) are drinking and flirting and one thing leads to another and they find themselves back at Sophie's house. After a night of passion Luke comes to his senses and remembers his oath to remain single so he runs from Sophie's house leaving her devastated.
Luke McCracken decided long ago that he would never have someone at home always waiting and worrying whether or not that he would make it home uninjured and alive. He saw what it did to his mother and vowed to never be that selfish to put someone else in that position. So for two years he has suffered being around Sophie everyday. They throw insults back and forth at each other just to burn off the tension between them. Sophie does not know that Like drives by her house every night and checks the Windows and doors just to make sure she is safe.
The town is being plagued by a rash of breaking and an increase of drug overdoses. So far they have nothing to go on and that frustrates Luke. While driving by Sophie's house on his way home the call comes in of a home invasion and as the dispatcher gives the address, Luke's heart stops. He turns around and hope he makes it in time before something seriously happens to Sophie. Will Luke make it in time to get Sophie out safe or will he walk in on his worst nightmare.
Brandy Ayers has become a favorite of mine and if you have not read the Blue Light Series I suggest that you do.

Whoa! Reckless Conduct by Brandy Ayers is one hot read. This may be a short story in length but it is not lacking in anything. This is the first book in the Blue Line series. A series about a small suburban police squad that is full of entertainment. This was steamy and cute, funny and a bit scary. It had everything I could ask for in a story. Brandy Ayers was able to bring out every emotion I have in such a short time and I am in complete awe of her for it.

This story focuses on Luke, the womanizing Sergeant who only wants one night stands until he meets Sophia. After a passionate night together Sophia is shocked at how Luke treats her. Two years later there is a spike in crime that has everyone on their toes and reexamining the things that are most important to them. I could see from the first meeting that there was more to them than they wanted to admit, so I patiently read to see how this was going to develop.

This four-star read is a perfect read to remind you of those things that should matter most. Family should be the cornerstone of our lives, whether its blood or coworkers that would do anything for you. Family comes in all shapes and sometimes it takes drastic measures to help us see that again. This was such a good book that I didn't want it to end. I wish it could have been longer so that I could see how these two grow together and change. I guess I just have to hope it is in the next book instead.

This novella starts out hot and ends hot. There’s even hotness in the middle! We meet Luke and Sophie while they are playing a drinking card game at a local bar. The attraction between the two is obvious and they end up in bed. However, Sophie was under the impression that they were more than a one night stand. And Luke, well Luke was only thinking with his “Little Luke” and ran as soon as he could.
Flash forward two years and Sophie and Luke have continued their non existent relationship. More like their love to hate each other relationship. Working together at the police station means seeing each other everyday which only adds to their “reckless conduct” towards each other. When a violent crime pushes them each to the edge, will they back away completely or will they finally realize what has been in front of them for several years?
This story was so easy and quick to read. And did I say it was hot? Brandy Ayers certainly knows how to write some smoking sex scenes! Highly recommend this story because who doesn’t like hot cop sex!

5 steamy stars! This book should come with a warning label! Reckless Conduct was hot, hot, hot! My only complaint was that it was way too short, and I want more of Sophie and Luke!

Poor Sophie has been through more than anyone should, she's lost both of her parents and her heart is beyond shattered. My heart broke for her, she's only twenty three and she's already experienced so much loss, you can't help but have a soft spot for her. Enter Luke McCracken the sexy Sergeant lives to serve and protect. There is only one woman to ever captivate and completely consum him and he's only had her once. Luke and Sophie had a steamy night together, one that made Sophie feel alive in ways she hadn't felt in so long, while Luke was left shaken, he wants her so much, but he doesn't think he deserves her. So what happens when Luke can't stay away anymore? What happens when a string of break in and robberies happen, and the robber breaks into a member of the police forces house?

I absolutely love cop romance stories, and this one did not disappoint! I'd recommend this to everyone who loves this type of story line! I can't wait to see what Brandy Ayers comes up with next.

Reckless Conduct: Blue Line Book One
By: Brandy Ayers
5 out of 5 stars

The story Reckless Conduct: Blue Line Book One by Brandy Ayers is a romantic suspense book. Sophie Gallo has survived a lot in her twenty-three years. Both of her parents are gone, her dreams abandoned and a heart shattered. She has come through it all stronger than ever. Who knew that one night could change everything. That is the night she and Luke share a night of passion. Then he runs from her. Now every day she goes to work at the Middleburg Police Station as the office manager is torture for her. She is trying to hide her sadness and desire, even from herself.

Luke knows that he is in love with Sophie. That means shielding her from the biggest threat to her happiness, him. He lives on memories of their night together. He will not allow himself to be reckless with Sophie’s heart again. It is best that he works on the rash of break-ins and increase in drug overdoses. However, is it possible that while protecting Sophie from himself he is overlooking another danger?

This is an awesome book. I love books with characters in law enforcement and this one has plenty of them. Luke and Sophie are wonderful characters. Sophie has overcome so much in her life and is looking for ways to further her career. That Luke left after their one night together crushes her. Luke is sure of himself as a law-enforcement officer and while he believes that he is protecting Sophie by pushing her away, he needs to think things through. In the backdrop of this romance, there is another storm brewing. Crime is up in the city and no one is sure why. Everyone is anxious to get the crimes solved before they get worse.

This is a book that will have you rooting for the men and women of the Middleburg Police department and for both Sophie and Luke. It is a shorter book and I got through it in one sitting. I can truthfully say I wish it was longer. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! There are hot and steamy love scenes so I would recommend for anyone 18 years or older.

A definite 4.5 stars for Reckless Conduct , Blue Lines Book 1 by Brandy Ayers.
I will honestly admit that there were times while reading this book, I completely hated and wanted to hurt Luke. As I got further into the book, I got a better understanding as to why he had acted the way he did. And let me tell you, he totally redeemed himself.
Luke McCracken has had his sights set on Sophie Gallo since he first laid eyes on her, years ago. When they are together at Blue Lines, the bar that the police officer usually congregate at, and the alcohol is flowing freely, they both give in the attraction that they both feel. After a night filled with christening just about every surface in her house, Luke leaves like his rear is in fire. He immediately knows that it was wrong of him to do that but he would rather have had her for that one night than never at all. Over the next 2 years, they bicker back and forth and Luke does everything in his power to get under Sophie's skin and get her worked up. They do not speak about that one night but it weighs heavily on both of their memories. Everyone around them in the precinct feel the sexual tension between them, waiting for them to give into it. When an incident happens where Sophie is involved, Luke almost loses his mind, trying to get to her as fast as he can. He explains to her exactly why, he acted the way he did for the past 2 years.
Will imagining losing her, make Luke realize that he doesn't want to be without her? Can she forgive him for his behavior?
Once I started this book, I could not put it down. I can not wait for Book 2 in the series.

Reckless conduct is book one in the Blue line series by Brandy Ayers. This series will be dedicated to books about our brave police officers. In book one we meet Luke and Sophie. We are introduced to these great characters when they have a one night stand. They have known each other for a while because of work. Luke is a police officer that is very concentrated on his job. Sophie is a dispatcher at the police station. You will see that there is an intense attraction between these two that they fought. Then there was that one night that they just couldn't resist. That one night of unadulterated passion ruined them for other people because they realized how good they could be together. Luke is wanting to spare Sophie from a life of worry so he left her while the bed was still warm. They went through two years of playing cat and mouse. He was trying to keep her at arms length. But his flirtatious demeanor keeps popping his head out. When Sophie is put in danger Luke jumps into action. From that moment on they are inseparable. Can Sophie finally let go of the past? Can Luke convince her to give them a second chance? This is such a great introduction to this series. I give this book 5 stars. I can't wait to see what new adventure book 2 brings.

Reckless Conduct is the first novel in the Blue Line series by Brandy Ayers.

Luke who is a cop and Sophie who is the niece of police chief starts the book by playing poker, the night ends on a one night stand and Luke leaves.

Two years later, Luke is still not admitting his feelings for Sophie. Will he ever confess?

I really enjoyed this novella. I wish there was more to this story. It was fast read that was satisfying is some areas but left me wanting more in others.

Luke is the guy you love to hate and Sophie is a great strong character which you don't see much. Luke feels he is doing the right thing but knows Sophie is all he thinks about.

This novella is the case of wanting someone but keeping away from them but still wanting them. I read premises like this a lot and I am a sucker for them.

The poker game was my favorite scene. And the steamy scene after made me need a cold shower.

I'm not much of a fan of cop stories but after this, I am now.

I look forward to reading more.

Reckless Conduct is the first book that I have read by Brandy Ayers and I really enjoyed it and plan to read more of this series. Luke and Sophie work together and she is the chief’s niece who just lost her father. Luke is the infamous playboy who is trying to make a name for himself. When they spend one night together, Luke starts to freak because he knew right away that she was something more than previous women. He attempts to convince both of them that it is best this way.
For 2 years Luke has made Sophie’s life difficult; he may not like her but she has never forgotten what it was like that one night they spent together and her feelings have never gone away (not that she will tell him that).
When an incident hits close to home, he will make one last look at his life and decide if he wants Sophie to be a part of it or if he is going to let her go for good.
I have to say that my biggest disappointment is that it was only a novella. I really wanted them (mainly him) to have to work harder at the connection but I can not wait for the next book.

Sophie Gallo's dreams were put on hold when her father got sick. Now at twenty-three, both parents are gone, and she's stuck paying bills off. On a particularly hard night, she hooks up with Luke, and he breaks her heart when he leaves quickly, as he pretends that nothing great happened! Seeing him everyday at her job, only makes it worse, and so she clings to her anger and hatred, while he pushes her buttons. Reckess Conduct was a short story that had me very entertained, and I wanted more so badly. I loved the whole premise, but the length made it fall short just a bit for me, as it seemed a bit too rushed. I loved Sophie, and cursed Luke out a lot, and I hope that they are shown more as the series goes on. The well placed humor had me laughing, and a nice twist out of left field made for a great OMG moment. I can honestly say that I cannot wait to read more of this series in, hopefully, the near future!

Loved the chemistry between Luke and Sophie.

There’s history between these two. One hot night of mind blowing sex and Luke panics and leaves quickly. Sophie is stunned she thought they had a connection and was devastated when Luke left her alone.

Now two years later and Sophie is still working at same station that Luke is. She has a lot of anger still bottled up inside her. Luke is just as cocky and pretty much does anything to get a rise out of her. But Luke has a secret. He has always liked Sophie but has kept it hidden. A lot to do with his upbringing. His dads a cop and he was hurt in the line of duty and he watched how hard it was on his mother when she dealt with that. So he closes himself off to the possibility of love.

But when Sophie’s life is in danger it makes him realise that he may he lose the one thing he loves. Her.

A fast and steamy read. Look forward to more from this author.

Really quick and hot read! The interactions between these two had me laughing and wanting to smack him up side his head at times.

He thought one night was all he was going to get and they definitely made it a night to remember! He thinks he's doing the right thing but can't stop wanting her every time he's around her. She's all that he thinks about. No one else will do.

She acted like she hated him until they just couldn't go on that way. Watching these two through the drama, angst, etc. had me rooting for them throughout the whole book.

The only complaint I have is I wish it was longer!

This was a cute novella about Luke and Sophie. Luke a cop and Sophie the chief's niece, and the receptionist at the station, have a one night stand. Two years later Luke is still getting on Sophie's nerves and Luke is still hiding the fact that he wants her. Will Sophie forgive him for his actions? Will Luke man up and tell Sophie he wants her?

Since this is so short I can't give you any more details. A bit of violence, drama, a sexy time or two, this was a good read, and could have TBH made a great full size novel. I do give this 4.5 stars.

Sweet read

Luke and Sophie fight like cats and dogs, but you can tell they love each other from the beginning. The way Luke left her the first time was sad, that after two years, seems like it may have been for the best. Luke does his best to fight his feelings but after Sophie's house being broken into while she was there, he can't fight it anymore and things only get better from there. Good read, thank you for sharing.

Although you know going in to this story of the end result, the journey to get there truly made this an entertaining escape. The chemistry between the two leads is smoking from the first page. A fabulous "quick read" for when you want an instant gratification with little time to spare.

Luke McCracken is the all-American Police officer. Women swoon over him, the other officers look up to him on the force and his superiors respect him. He takes his job of protecting the citizens of Middleburg very seriously and vows to let nothing get in the way of his career, including the girl next door Sophie Gallo. She is completely off limits not only because she works at the police station, but also because she is the current Niece of the Chief of police.
Sophie Gallo is starting her journey to adulthood with a tough road. Her father gets ill very suddenly with cancer, which causes her to have to leave college and move in full time with him to help. Before she knows it, she is without both of her parents and taken under the wing of her Uncle and given a front desk job at the Middleburg Police Department. Even in the grief of her father’s passing, she is able to depend on the friendship of Officer McCracken to lift her spirits and make her laugh. No matter what she tells herself, she cannot deny her feelings for Luke and he seems to resist her every move no matter how many hints she drops. However, one night Tequila helps her to win the battle and is taken home by her dream man for a night of unbelievable passion. She finally gets what she wants and needs and believes she has finally found Mr.Right to settle down with, or so she thought.
Despite having his walls torn down by Sophie, he has to think of the bigger picture and respect his vow as a police officer and more importantly his duty to respect Sophie both personally and professionally. He knows in his heart that he cannot give her what she needs and makes the decision to walk away and pretend as if this “one time thing” never happened.
Fast forward a few years later with Officer McCracken now sitting as Sergeant McCracken and Sophie almost complete with her degree but still working at the front window. Despite their night of passion, Luke has completely ignored what happened between him and Sophie and has pushed her to the brink of anger with his fake flirting and incessant teasing. How could he ignore what they had when she knew that he felt it too?
Luke has stuck to his guns and kept his distance from Sophie, thinking that this was the best thing for her and doing what he needed to do to keep her safe. However, a rash of violent crimes and burglaries hits way too close to home and forces him to decide if he is going to continue to ignore his feelings for Sophie or take the harder road and figure out how to become the man that she needs.
This story is book 1 in the Blue Line series and I can honestly say that I am waiting impatiently for book 2. I currently work as a dispatcher at a local police agency, it was hard not to picture this scenario happening at our station and I found the story very relevant and engaging. I feel that Brandy Ayers portrayed the emotions and stigma of a police officer very well and accurately showed the readers the array of emotions that go through their minds during high intensity calls or dealing with criminals daily. Although the next book will not continue the story of Sophie and Luke, I hope that the next story highlights hints of their relationship. Great first read for me by Ayers and I will definitely be coming back for more!

Reckless Conduct (Blue Line Book 1) by Brandy Ayers

Sophie Gallo, office manager at the Middleburg Police Station has had her heart shattered by the loss of her father recently after already losing her mother at a very young age. She's had to give up on her dreams but has somehow stayed strong.

Luke McCracken, an officer who lives to serve and protect, vowing never to get attached to one woman as he knows from experience what being married to a cop can do to a person.

Over a game of blind man's bluff poker Luke loves seeing happiness on Sophie's face after losing her father recently. Even losing all his nuts to her is worth it to see her smile. As hard as it was to hide his attraction to her, relationships were not his thing and she had girlfriend written all over her. Not to mention her being the niece of the chief of police, his boss, would complicate things tremendously, but too much tequila takes common sense and throws it out the window.

Sophie takes Luke back to her house, they give in to their lust on just about every surface in her home and she was in heaven, felt like she had a reason to feel alive again, until he was gone, ran away before the condom even had a chance to hit the bottom of the trash can. For two years they continue working together, him constantly provoking her and her responding with as much hatred as she can muster. Leaving the way he did and acting like nothing happened broke her heart, something she can't forgive, but Luke is happy to just have the memories from that night if it means he can protect her from himself and she can have the life she deserves. Then one night a call comes over his radio with an address that makes his heart stop. In all the times he told himself to protect her from himself, he never dreamed she would be in danger from outside forces.

Another author added to my favorites list, this was a quick read, almost too quick because I fell in love with these two and hated for it to end, I'm thrilled to see that there is another out in this series and more to come. I love the writing style of this book, it was fast moving yet I was still able to get to know each character. The storyline starts building in this book and I'm thinking it will continue in the coming books. I will be reading all of this author's work. I loved it!!!

Reckless Conduct Blue Line Book One written by Brandy Ayers
4 stars

This is a quick heartfelt read filled with passion, heartache, loss, lust, teasing and regret. This book is the first in the series yet it can be read as a stand alone. I'm hoping each book in the series will continue to put previous characters in the story to see if their future holds what I had hoped for them. To see the growth, healing or happiness I had anticipated.

Sophie Gallo has been through alot in her young life. Sophie is the Office Manager at the Middleburg Police Station. She is also the niece of the chief of police, daughter of the recently deceased district attorney. She has grown up around cops and they are like her extended family.

Officer Luke McCracken was known to be an arrogant man, womanizer and definitely not one looking to have a serious relationship. He learned from a young age that being part of the police force and having a family didn't mix. He never wanted someone waiting at home worrying or having to take the wrath of his emotions after working a horrific case like his mom had done for years.

Meeting up at the Blue Line with part of the force wasn't out of the ordinary. As he sat back watching Sophie he knew she was more than the usual skank cruising the Blue Line for a cop on a Friday night. Even though he was drawn to her he knew
if he crossed that line with her, there was no going back. Relationships were not his thing, and she had girlfriend written all over her cute little body.

“Still recovering from the first of many highs he planned to take her to, she looked at him with a smirk on her face. “I always knew you had a smart mouth, but damn, I didn’t realize it had talent too.””

As much fun as he was having with Sophie he started to realize she had no clue that he was not boyfriend material. One night stands were all he did. He was going to walk away from her, he had made a promise to himself years ago and no woman was going to make him break it. Even though Sophie Gallo had well and truly ruined him for all other women...he wouldn't let her know that.

Reckless Conduct, book one in the Blue Line Series by Brandy Ayers, is a standalone while still being in a series. Each book is about a different officer at the same Police Station.
After losing her mom at a young age, Sophie Gallo spent her life being raised by her father alone. When she later loses her dad to cancer, she must give up the life she once thought she would have, to start working to cover medical bills and funeral cost. Luckily for her the Middleburg Police Station has an opening just for her!
Luke has nothing more to offer except one night. No long term commitments has been his motto. Now he must accept that hatred is the only passion he will see from Sophie these days. After their one night together Luke knows it is best this way, but Sophie refuses to see it that!
Can these two continue on this path, or will it lead to a destruction that will put them where they belong?
First and foremost, yes it is a short, quick read, but I have never seen so much story line packed into something so little before. I was worried until I was done reading and would of swore it was a full length book! I do not know how she did it, but I never felt that it was moving too fast or I was missing anything! Great for days you really do not have a lot of time, but you always really need an escape from reality for a bit! Sophie is a character I feel for. She wants so bad to just make the attraction she feels towards Luke go away, but it is not happening! Luke, I spent quite a bit of time wanting to slap upside the head! Knock some sense into him! I highly recommend this story!

Luke loved the sound of Sophie’s laugh and how it made his body feel. He also knew that there was something different and special about her and that he had to be careful every time he was with her. While she was laughing, and enjoying Luke’s company Sophie was recovering from the death of her father not more than a month ago. After spending, much of the night touching every inch of her body and making love to her, Luke knew he had to get away from her and fast. It wasn’t because she had done anything wrong it was because of how he felt about her. Luke was a police officer and Sophie also worked at the police station. Tomorrow he was going to act as nothing had happened, he also knew this was going to anger Sophie, but it’s something he had to do.

Two years this game was played, and for every day of them two years Sophie made it known to Luke how annoyed and unimpressed she was to how he had treated her. What she didn’t know was that every night Luke drove past her house making sure she was safe inside before he went home, she also didn’t know the reasoning why he couldn’t be with her. Would he tell her? maybe one day. Every day he saw her he wanted her badly, every time another man showed interest in her a rage of jealousy would surge through his body.

Sophie, he knew had ruined him for any other woman that he knew for sure.
Luke needs to overcome his fear of being with her before it’s too late and he loses her for good.
Would he finally find a way that he could be with the woman he loves? Or is he going to watch her move on with another man and loose her for good?

Wow this story maybe short but still packs one hell of a punch filled with a exciting storyline you will not be able to put it down.
Sergeant Luke McCracken is a God hot cocky every women's eyes would devour him he's that tasty but he doesn't do relationships. Sophie his Co worker has been through hell she lost both of her parents at the age of twenty three she’s lost so much can't but help but feel heartbroken for her. Luke and Sophie at the beginning of there story are playing a drinking card game which ends up with them getting hot and heavy together while Sophie thought it would be the start of something, Lets just say Luke wasn't thinking with his head on his shoulders so he left her bed before the sheets even got cold. The thing is Luke is captivated by Sophie he wants her but he don't think he deserves her she's to good for him. See while Sophie felt so alive in ways she's haven't in a long time when they were together but was shattered to find him gone. What happens when a violent crimes brings them right to the edge will they finally cave to there feelings which they have been harbouring for years? Will Sophie allow Luke in when he can't stay away anymore?
This is the start of a awesome new series and it doesn't disappoint it maybe quick but oh my its hot and filled with action definitely a great read, Brandy has done a amazing job bringing out all the emotions in this steamy funny action packed sometimes frightening read. I would one hundred percent recommend this novella its amazing loved it!!!
