Garrett is the second book in the Dark Water Security Series by Madison Quinn. After reading Luke (Book #1), I was intrigued by the rest of the Dark Water Security team, so when this book released, I wanted to read it to find out what happens and discover more about Garrett, who was the ‘new guy’ on the team in book #1. This is a story of second chances, secrets, danger, suspense, some mystery, drama, threats, intrigue, chemistry, and steamy encounters.
As I’ve mentioned, we met Garrett back in book #1- he’s an ex-marine and new to the DWS team. His new assignment working personal security for a Tech mogul requires him to live on site, something he isn’t too keen on. But what he doesn’t expect to find there is ‘the one who got away’ two and a half years ago. She disappeared from his bed after an unforgettable night of passion, leaving nothing but a memory. Now he’s determined to discover why. But what happens when danger comes calling? What happens when her secret is revealed? All these answers can be found by reading the intriguing details for yourself.
I enjoyed this story more than the first book, but again I felt a little ‘let down’ by the ‘big reveal’- it was a bit of an anti-climax after such a great build up. The danger element was well done, but again I felt it needed to be more explosive/powerful to fit in with all the ‘lead-up’. But overall, it’s an enjoyable story.
I am intrigued by what I will find in Book #3.

Book two in the Dark Water Security Series by Madison Quinn might not be as intense as the first book, but that is hardly surprising as the first book was really a tough one. Still, the author did a great job with Garrett in creating yet another intense character that I instantly loved. What actually made the story less intense for me was the job the two leading characters had aka the "boss" of both of them.
I actually felt irritated at times because with the plot pointing in one direction I somehow expected something that did not happen.
Still, I can not wait for the next book in the series hoping it will be the second owner's story - on the other hand, I can also see some other interesting stories with other for now secondary characters. We will see what the author will give us next.

I have read a couple of books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. This is the second book of the Dark Water Security series. I absolutely love second chance romance but this book exceeded all my expectations. This book can be read as a stand alone but there are prior characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I dropped everything and started it right away. This story had me hooked from the first page and it only took me a full day to devour this incredible story.
When Garrett first saw Hope he knew they had something. They had an unforgettable night together but when he wakes up the next morning she was gone. Garrett was lost without her but he found his calling by protecting people. He is hired to protect a new tech millionaire. Garrett is shocked when he finds out that his Hope is the cook for this man. He still wants answers from that night but when he mentions it to Hope she doesn’t want to discuss it. They start to get know each other all over again and they quickly realize they still have strong feelings for one another. Garrett starts to find out some things about their boss that can put him and her into danger. Will Garrett be able find out where the danger is coming from or will it be too late?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and suspense. You will fall in love with these characters. Garrett looks really tough on the outside but deep down he wants to find his one. He loves his job and he will do anything for the ones he loves. The way he treats Hope will make your heart melt. Hope is a beautiful woman. She had a devastating thing happen to her but it made her stronger. Hope is one of my favorite female characters of the year. I loved that despite of her fears she faced them and it gave her more strength. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will write for us next.

This is a second chance story that has a few twists and turns that keep the story engaging. Garrett and Hope met one night only to meet once again a few years later. What will happen when they come face to face again? I enjoyed both characters and the suspense and the lurking danger they bring to the story. Their chemistry is great and strong. I found myself hoping that they make through together at the end. I highly recommend this book, I can’t wait for the next one in this series.

When Garrett is asked by Like his boss at Dark Waters Security of he is willing to do love in security.He says I have no wife an no girlfriend so yes What Garrett didn;t expect was to find the woman he has never stopped thinking to be working there as the cook an housekeeper an she will be his roommate.When he looks Hope in the eye he knows something has happened to this beautiful woman her eyes show pain and something else.He knows he will have to take it slow warm her trust and maybe she will tell him .Hope is shocked to see Garrett an now he will be living with her.Hope has been through so much an the beautiful night she spent with Garrett was destroyed after she left him.Will she ever be able to tell him about it but she;s afraid he wont look at her the same. As they get closer and after a really bad dream she xwakes up with Garrett sleeping next to her an she feels safer than she;s felt since it happened.She finally shares what happened that night .She feels so much lighter but shes afraid to look at Garrett until he puts a finger under her chin an says look at me Hope.Im sorry I wasn;t there for you but she didnt expect was compassion and love.Does Garrett care about her the way she feels about him?The twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more .I can hardly wait to see what;s next by this multi talented author.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.

This is a good book about a young woman (Hope) who is working as a live-in housekeeper and chef to a wealthy owner of a tech company (Richard). Richard hires an ex-Marine (Garrett) who is now working for a security company to live at his home and protect him after receiving threats from an unknown source. When Hope and Garrett see each other at Richard's home, they are shocked to realize that they know each other from having spent one night together about two years before. Hope had mysteriously disappeared the next morning. She and Garrett are still very attracted to each other but the mystery needs to be solved. Why did she leave? Can they have a relationship in the current time after what had happened? In the midst of this personal drama there is a lot of suspense about the dangers to Richard. Who is behind the hate mail? Why is it being sent? Can Garrett keep him safe? And then can Hope and Garrett renew the love they felt for each other before? I was a little disappointed with how long it took for the story to explain about why Hope left so mysteriously before - almost half the book really. And then a long time to find out about the threat to Richard and how to stop it. So the book was a little slow-moving, but the readers is left with plenty of curiosity about events to keep going to the end. Readers might want to find out about other members of the security company in other books written by the author.

I LOVE the men of Dark Water Security! With each book, the author manages to bring you in further and further, leaving you wanting more. After reading Luke and now Garrett, I'm dying to know Alec's story!
Garrett and Hope meet during a wedding and have an incredible night together. They hit it off immediately and end up spending the night together in his hotel room. Hope is the first woman that has Garrett wanting more, even though he knows it won't be easy since he still has another two years in the Marines.
Unfortunately, the idea of a future with her vanishes as soon as Garrett wakes up and finds a cold, empty bed. She didn't even leave a note.
They meet a couple years later when fate once against throws them a curveball and has them working and living together. All Garrett wants to know is why Hope left that night, but all Hope wants to do is forget that the night ever happened.

Garrett is the 2nd book in the fantastic Dark Water Security series. I adored book 1 in the series ‘Luke’ and was looking forward to getting to know the other members of the Dark Water Security team. This book did not disappoint.
Garrett is an ex-marine and is a new member of the Dark Water Security team. As an ex-marine, I expected Garrett to be a hard and unyielding character, whereas he turned out to be a sweet, loving guy who I couldn’t help but totally adore. Yes, he was mentally tough and would do anything to protect Hope and their boss Mr Mayer but there was a sweet, vulnerable side to him which made him very appealing.
I also adored Hope. Coming through such a traumatic event in her past had made her build up walls which seemed unbreakable but would Garrett be the man that got those walls to crumble? Over 2 years previously Hope and Garrett had met at a wedding and had an amazing night together but when he woke in the morning Hope was gone. Garrett has spent the last 2.5 years wondering what happened that night and now he will do everything to find out.
In this book Garrett is working as security detail to Mr Meyer and Hope is Mr Meyer’s live in housekeeper. Will those who are out to hurt Mr Meyer end up putting Hope in danger? Not if Garrett has anything to say about it!

1.5 to 2.0 Stars a.k.a. -- this book falls right in between, I thought "it was meh" and "it was okay".
Why? Well, imo, there was no chemistry between the MC's. I also thought that the plot was a little lackluster and, shall I say, boring. Nothing really happened till the end of the book.
Sigh. This is one of those books that I felt would've been better as a novella because I found the pace to be too slow and that the story dragged on.

If you love reading second chance love stories you'll love this book. It was a great romance and also some twists and turns along the way to make it interesting. Garrett met Hope 2 1/2 years ago at a wedding. They end up spending the entire night together. Their perfect night is cut short the next morning when Garrett wakes up and finds Hope mysteriously gone. He had never connected to anyone like Hope and now she was gone without him even getting her last name. Fast forward to present day. They end up face to face after each accepts a live-in position with a man receiving death threats. Hope is the housekeeper and Garrett works with a security firm trying to offer his new boss protection. Hope almost has a panic attack when she sees Garrett and he has no clue why. What happened while he was sleeping that caused Hope to leave without saying goodbye?

Just finished Garrett and just loved it. Hope and Garrett were meant to be together but after a wonderful night together tragedy ensues and they don’t see each other for several years. After meeting again on the job the attraction is still there and a friendship and ultimately love occurs. Loved how patient Garrett was with his love for Hope. They encounter a bit of strangeness with their employers and ultimately some danger but nothing stands in their way of being together. Totally different storyline than Luke the 1st book in the series other than both working at Dark Water Security. Such a great series as Madison Quinn weaves a great story with characters you fall in love with and introduces the lead of the next book being introduced. You already know the new character a bit by the time his book comes out. She draws you into the series and trust me it is worth the read.

and a little danger and intrigue. I would have liked to see more a little more danger,
but overall I enjoyed the story and Madison’s writing style. I would read book one first
because the characters crossover as it is about the men of the Dark Water Security,
and let me tell you they are some smoking hot men.
Garrett is an ex-marine and a newby with the Dark Water Security team who is still
trying to sort his life out after the marines. So when he is offered a new assignment
as live in personal security guard he has no qualms. However, when he arrives he
sees someone who he has not been able to get out of his mind since the wonderful
night they spent together and now she wants nothing to do with him.
Hope spent on beautiful night with a stranger but what happened after she left,
changed her life forever. She cannot think about one without thinking about the other
and one just about killed her. Now she has come face to face with the new security
guard, who just happens to be the beautiful stranger but as the two are intertwined
everything that happened that night comes rushing back, threatening to destroy her.
I can’t wait to read book three

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Hope and Garrett. He's an ex Marine who is starting to work for a security company. She's had a rough life and is just getting reacquainted with working again. She's is working as a live-in maid / cook. When her boss starts getting threatening letters he agrees to hire a security firm. he is having a meeting with them and when she meets the new head of his security she's dumbfounded when she sees Garrett Foxx. two and a half years ago Garrett and hope shared a romantic evening at a wedding before he left to go back to service, unfortunately for her it went from and wonderful evening to a hellish night. First hope is shy and reluctant to talk to Garrett eventually after he moves into the staff living quarters with her, she opens up. The two are trying to determine where they stand and the story talks about their past as well as how they hope their future goes. Great HEA that I really enjoyed reading.

Garrett is the second book on Madison Quinn’s Dark Water Security series. Madison Quinn gave us an earth shaking opening with Luke and she continues strong in Garrett. Garrett is not as intense as Luke but in no way are we disappointed with him! We could see the promise of him in the first book, considering how brief his appearance was, it does tell you something!

Hope's life changed two and a half years ago, she went from the best night to the worse in a blink of an eye. She has struggled to start living again after that night but thanks to her best friend she is able to start moving forward.
Garrett is fairly new with Dark Water Security and is surprised when he walks into his new job. He never expected this small twist of fate when he got ready for work that day.
They both have wounds from their past they keep haunting them, especially at night though Hope's seem to effect her more. It almost seems like anyone associated with Dark Water Security has some stuff in their past that seems to cause some problems for them every now and again.
I really enjoyed this book a lot, there was just something about them. I do have some questions about Garrett and his past. Nothing huge or really pertaining to the story, just curiosity on my part.
Looking forward to the next book.

Garrett was a great 5 star read and book two in the Dark Water Security series. Madison continues to pull me in with her writing, I was excited to get Garrett and Hopes story.

What he doesn’t expect is to come face-to-face with the woman who walked away after one night two years ago, the woman he hasn’t been able to forget about since.

A true representation of the one that got away, as well as the one who got under your skin.
Garrett and Hope are the truest form of undeniable love at first sight from the get go of this book. They both have their demoms of 2.5 years to work through but neither of them can deny they have something still simmering away underneath it all.
There are so many things to love about this book, and so many emotions I dealt with while reading this. Madison Quinn is a stunning story teller, with in depth character development and stories that can break you and rebuild you all in one go.
I will be sticking around for more of this series of books!!

This is book 2 of the Dark Water Security books and if you loved Luke you are going to love Garrett!! Garrett and Hope have a history that Hope struggles with but Garrett is understanding! One thing I like about the Dark Water Security Series by Madison Quinn is that you do not need to read the other books to be able to follow along. Garrett, the second book in the series holds true to that statement. Madison Quinn is a contemporary romance author who does not focus on the romance part of the story, do not get me wrong romance is there but there is a story around the romance. Garrett and Hope had one night together and he did not think he would see Hope again. Well the new job has Garrett sharing living space with Hope again. Garrett needs to do security for a guy which is getting intense. Garrett vows to protect his client and Hope but Hope is hiding something from Garrett. What will the outcome of Garrett and Hope’s relationship be? Will Hope tell Garrett what she is hiding from him?

It was fate!
Garrett and Hope were meant for each other! Their story will make you believe in soul mates and destiny.
It was unfortunate that Hope had some bad memories associated with their night but once they reunited I was glad she could focus on the happiness she had that night and they were able to move forward together.
Garrett is a great, protective partner and compliments Hope's character perfectly.
I am looking forward to more in this series especially Cole's story.

Garrett by Madison Quinn was a phenomenal read from start to finish! It’s the 2nd book in the Dark Water Security Series, a series I would recommend reading in order for proper storyline introduction.
Garrett’s story was so well written with so many details the storyline flowed so well. There was just enough going on that I was highly entertained the whole way through. I loved being able to follow Hope as she discovers how to live a great life after trauma. The two of them together were perfection and I hope to read more about them in the future!
I would recommend this book and series to anyone looking for their next read!

Another great look into the Dark Water Security family. I love how he author is able to weave previous characters into the story and peak our interest with upcoming leads. Garret and Hope really bring you along in their story of lost and found love. Can’t wait to read more from this series!

Book one in the Dark Water Security series from Madison Quinn really set the bar HIGH for me, as I absolutely adored it. I was skeptical that this one would reach the heights that it did and yet Madison Quinn managed to steal my heart away again with the story of Garrett and Hope. I will say maybe not as much as the first couple did, but still fabulous and sweetly.
Garret and Hope had that one perfect night, you know the one, so many of us like to erase and hide in the back of our minds as a, ‘Why did I do that? Oh yeah it was fantastic!’type of night. It isn’t your typical second chance romance though and does have some sweet and cute twists between Garrett and Hope that make the story just too much fun, and almost impossible to put down until you find out what will happen for these two. Will they get their happily ever after? For all the juicy details though you will have to snag a copy of your own. I can’t wait to see what we will get in book three!

Garrett (Dark Water Security book 2) By Madison Quinn
I have to say that this book had me frustrated at a secondary character from the get go but it didn't take away from the main characters too much. Just he had me mad i couldn't figure him out.
Garrett and Hope met a couple years ago, had a great night and then life changed drastically for one of them.
When they meet again, it brings memories back that they don't think they can make it through.
As they get to know one another more, and continue working, we get to see more of the Dark Water Security team again, but not too much.
I enjoyed this story, and the tough subject that was touched on was done well.
Can't wait for more from this series.

Garrett is the second book in the Dark Water Security Series. It can be read as a standalone.
I really enjoyed this story. It kept up a pretty good pace and the characters were easy to connect with. I did find that the ending was a little anticlimactic, I was really thinking there was going to be more to the whole lifestyle scenario with Mr. Meyer’s brother. That piece seemed like a loose end after the conversation that is overheard. I had a little chuckle at Hope’s first encounter with her boss’ lifestyle choices. If you’re not familiar with it, it can be a bit shocking, lol.
Overall, I found it a good way to entertain your imagination on a rainy day.

Garrett (Dark Water Security book 2) By Madison Quinn is a contemporary romance was an excellent follow-up to Luke, the first book in the series. This story features Garrett who works for Dark Water Security. A live-in security positions brings him back to a woman, Hope, that Garrett met following a wedding years ago. This story is a wonderfully written second chance romance that has amazing chemistry between the lead characters, along with drama, suspense and uncertainties. The way the events unfold in this story were excellently written and made the entire book flow seamlessly. Each book in this series is better than the previous and I cannot wait to see what comes next!!

Garrett is on a new job providing live-in security for a man getting threats. Its while on this job that he runs back into Hope a woman he had a one night stand with but never forgot. Hope panics when she sees Garret and he doesn't know why but plans to find out. Before he can even talk to Hope everything with his current job explodes around them. Garret now has to keep both hope and his client safe. Will he find out what Hope is hiding?
This is a great story this will draw you in from the first word. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
